i am a deangirl always have been and love him more than any other character … it’s hard to believe he was a WB/CBW character honestly. but there is one thing that really has always bothered me and it has to do with the treatment of bela in s3. i get that she screwed him and sam over for her own reasons (almost a proto cas in some ways i think) but his behavior towards her was so cold and sociopathic. i think of him learning about the origin of her demon deal ( sexual abuse by her father) and then surprising her in her room and when she looks scared of what he’s there for saying “don’t flatter yourself”— to a sexual abuse survivor?! then when she’s crying on the phone about being dragged to hell he’s like too bad you were such a bitch we could have helped you. this is the one time i really felt like he was being a horrible person. god knows he and sam have done horrible things because of circumstance. bela deserved better imo. im glad lauren got a better role elsewhere but it’s always felt very strange to me esp since usually dean has a lot of sympathy for people like her. s3 is weird in general with some of the most racist moments (isaac and tamara, victor being killed offscreen, gordon being gruesomely killed, the woman losing her teeth to the witch coven, etc) in the shows history but this has always really bothered me as a black woman and a survivor of sexual violence in particular in a dean characterization way. idk curious as to what you think

This is an issue of confusing what the viewer knows with what Dean knows. Dean has no idea that Bela was sexually abused. He only knows her parents died suspiciously then she inherited a lot of money. He assumes that she killed her parents for personal gain because she has repeatedly presented herself to him as a person who does not care for others, has no sense of loyalty (even after Sam and Dean save her life, she nearly kills them twice), and will kill people and/or leave people to die for monetary gain.

From 3.15:

BELA You're not the cold-blooded type. DEAN You mean like you? That's true. See, I couldn't imagine killing my parents. BELA (Shocked but regrouping) I don't know what you're talking... We as viewers then see a flashback from Bela's perspective that implies Bela's sexual abuse, but what she tells Dean is:

Dean could only have known about Bela's sexual abuse if she told him. Bela never told anyone. She wanted to be viewed by everyone around her as cold and uncompromising as stone.

RE: season 3 yeah there's a lot of WEIRD shit in there and some really gruesome shit that does feel disproportionately directed at black characters.

if i think about haruki too much, i will just start crying.

and not just for the obvious things, the hurt he endures to protect other people, the want he has to be loved and cared for, the softness and vulnerability he shares with jin. but also for the way you can imagine he’s lived and built his life. at the end of the episode when he’s sat taking blame, i wondered why. not just why is he taking the blame, but why is he made to feel like he should, not by anyone else but by himself. it’s hard bc we don’t see anything that haruki has actually done that is bad that could’ve influenced majima to behave badly. we don’t see any of that before that were made to believe happened. that makes me think, is majima saying he was influenced to steal just by being friends with haruki who has built up this bad boy image for himself, that just by getting involved with those kinds of people he too has become a bad person. bc that says a lot. it says a lot about how the world seems to continually blame and hurt haruki for things he didn’t do- not only did he never do anything bad, but this whole image is constructed as a defence to hide the truth, both an excuse to explain bruises, but also by befriending these people, he isn’t asked about his life, no one questions where he’s been, what he’s been doing, what his home life or family is like. befriending these people and being this role means he has no one to pry- or rather, no one to care, and that gives him a level of safety. except here that all backfires.

and it says a lot about the influence of people. if haruki can influence majima to do bad things, can haruki’s father similarly influence him? that’s the question that weighs on haruki, is it that simple, does our environment really make us who we are that much? and it hurts to know he still asks himself that question when we see him so outwardly and actively trying to not be like his father, not fighting back, even when he could hurt him easily, not punching majima, and more than the physicality of it, he tells majima that he’s not trash, neither of them are. he’s not his father bc he will not put someone down and make them feel like they’re worthless, esp not to try and make themselves feel better than them. he never lowers himself to the level of those that hurt him, it’s like he has that center of goodness that doesn’t let him, a small but strong pride in who he actually is or could be that won’t compromise. and by taking the blame for majima, is he sticking to that pride and taking account for the situation, bc whether he intended to or not, majima was still influenced by him? or is he going along with what everyone else expects of him bc he no longer believes he deserves to change, now that he’s seen that just like his believes his father has for him, he’s influenced someone else to be bad. the balance of self-worth in haruki is truly fascinating and heart-breaking, bc in him you see a kid who is just trying to do what is right, in a world that doesn’t treat him right in return.

okay ik everyone and their mother is probably talking about this but monomoko seems to be becoming more and more sympathetic for the students and it kinda scares me for her future, considering what just happened w dr kan (KYS!!!!!). im not particularly sure as to why this is happening, maybe the black spots have to do with the memories or the feelings from the deceased students??? i feel like that has to have some significance. also she went and talked to people that were pretty significant to people who died or got killed, like sasaki and okazaki, so i find that intriguing. im still so confused as to how any of monomokos abilities work but hey ojima got a glimpse of the sky! yeah open sky screamed death flags ojima pls stay true to your word. also the yanagi analysis by monomoko was wild lmfao but i did really like seeing that, it was good to get a better idea of who yanagi really wants to protect,,, hes grown on me so much god i love him

TAMBA MISSING KAMIMURA I AM IN TEARS F UGH KKJSJAJEJE sweetie you DO deserve to be alive but this dialogue is so real i can totally see why tamba is spiraling out. her survivors guilt is really getting to her n how she was so careless before n still survived while someone like kamimura who took a bunch of precautions was killed. obviously tamba deserves to live; the question of who deserves to live is as hayashi said, it’s not something anyone has to prove, you just make the most of it. i really love hayashi and tambas interactions ESP in this chapter.

watari adding patches for the people who died in gonna CRY. i wonder what she would’ve said if she had the time to respond to monomoko, that definitely put Okazaki onto the forefront of her mind.

now onto some actual analysis

I think the why do you mourn them question is answered well with tambas sentiments before; they were so young and just died because of the situation they were forced into. Danganronpa is so dangerous too when the people in the killing game are teenagers, who are still learning to make rational decisions, so putting them in a kind of environment that puts pressure on them to make this kind of sacrifice to get out alive and save themselves, a very human instinct.

i had something in my drafts that I was gonna post desperately but might as well talk about it here cause it fits! i think a lot of why the pink cast is in such mourning goes to the kind of lives they live normally. many of them are more isolated, like kamimura or wada, or surrounded by people but not truly by people they can be themselves around, like hiroaki, chiba, and harada. especially considering them being the best in their field, they have lives where it’s hard to make connections with their peers and it’s a genuine one. that’s why hasegawa n kamimura become attached at the hip so quickly; kamimura was able to actually have a friend. this applies to pretty much everyone, and i think that is what is at the heart of the quick connections. they have the ability to be with their peers and don’t have the outside worlds social pressures on them. it’s a horrendous situation ofc, but if it weren’t for the killing game, they wouldn’t have talked to each other even if they did live near each other because of various reasons. i think the original danganronpa was trying to get to this point and it did in some cases, but in others it didn’t and that lead to a lack of mourning from the cast towards the people they lost except maybe one or two people.

this started off as a quick thing and then morphed into a mini essay so let's go lol.

tldr is IF sansa displays any magical powers i DO think it'll be because she's warged a bird, yes, and i think there's been some set up for it + i have some theories on it. but whether she gets a magical story arc at all?? no idea lmao.

firstly, some of the pushback i’ve seen against sansa getting a magical arc tend to boil down to “it’s unnecessary” and “there’s not enough time” and tbc i obviously think those are both stupid reasons. if it’s important to the plot, george will make the time! once again there are probably at minimum like 3k pages of story with tiny text left, i don’t think it’s unlikely we’ll get more magical arcs especially when imo theon is primed for one as well & who knows what magic jon is gonna start doing once his third eye opens.

BUT. yeah there is a lot going on lol and so i do think if sansa does any skinchanging, it's something that will happen a lot quicker than her siblings. maybe even in a similar to way to how it was theorized Benjen warged the elk (obviously that's been jossed but) - as in Sansa just reaches for magic instinctively while under duress. Esp if that little theory about her almost warging that stray dog or potentially warging some birds are true, and that her magic is reaching for an animal companion. We get a few lines here and there that seem to imply she might be doing some level of warging/dreaming though, in ways that seem similar to Jon and Arya - doing magical without realizing it, bonding with animals in sort of weird ways, and it does feel like that might be relevant.

She dreamt of Joffrey dying, but as he clawed at his throat and the blood ran down across his fingers she saw with horror that it was her brother Robb. And she dreamed of her wedding night too, of Tyrion's eyes devouring her as she undressed. Only then he was bigger than Tyrion had any right to be, and when he climbed into the bed his face was scarred only on one side. "I'll have a song from you," he rasped, and Sansa woke and found the old blind dog beside her once again. "I wish that you were Lady," she said.

That night the dead man sang "The Day They Hanged Black Robin," "The Mother's Tears," and "The Rains of Castamere." Then he stopped for a while, but just as Sansa began to drift off he started to play again. He sang "Six Sorrows," "Fallen Leaves," and "Alysanne." Such sad songs, she thought. When she closed her eyes she could see him in his sky cell, huddled in a corner away from the cold black sky, crouched beneath a fur with his woodharp cradled against his chest.

Since she's gotten to the Eyrie, where she has a bit more freedom to do whatever, she's gotten very close to that old stray dog while dreaming of Lady - the dog comes to her in the night while she's having this odd dream, and Varamyr mentions that dogs are the easiest to warg, even easier than wolves. It seems to imply that her magic is still calling out, still latent, and an easily influenced animal isn't just easy to warg but will come to her seeking that bond. Then you have that moment with Marillion - she sees him when she closes her eyes from a bird's eye view of the sky cells. I think it's not super unlikely that Harry could gift her a falcon and she will start to dream again, and that kicks off her magic.

NOW. I answered an aks before on what I think Sansa's memory issues are hinting at. And while I'm still very undecided on that, I was thinking that this could be part of that - Jon, for example, has a difficult time remembering his wolf dreams all the way up until ASOS! And we see that above with Sansa as well - "trying to remember was like trying to catch the rain with her fingers." And our mention of the UnKiss happens when she wakes up next to the dog! SO. I think it's possible that part of her memory problems are magic related and that her breaking from Littlefinger will involve her finally confronting her faulty memory - acknowledging the odd things she remembers about her father and Jeyne from the capital, thinking clearly about how Lysa tried to kill her, and at last remembering her warging dreams and accepting her abilities and at last owning her identity as Sansa Stark and not Alayne Stone.

Re: the split/kid Kim AU, I've seen you say a lot about the interactions between Chay and Kim and kid!Kim (which are wonderful and I love them!). Do you have any thoughts about the interactions between Kinn or Khun and kid!Kim?

Ooh, you're right, most of my posts have focused on Kim and Chay which is hilarious, because actually! The fic is centered around Kim and his brothers!! Since this fic is figuratively and literally about healing Kim's inner child, a very large part of that means mending his relationship with Kinn and Khun.

When this fic starts, Kim is ~13 and his Kinn is still dating Tawan. Kinn hasn't gone through all the heart break and betrayal that turned him into someone cold and cruel. He's still Kim's big, sweet, kind older brother, and even though kid Kim is a grumpy little storm cloud, he loves his brothers more than anything. He doesn't know why everything is suddenly so much different, but he trusts Kinn to fix it. And Kinn does not know what to do with a Kim that wholeheartedly, unquestioningly (mostly) trusts him.

“Kim?” The boy doesn’t respond. Kinn wants to reach out to him, but he’s still got that knife clutched in his hand, and he might be wild enough to use it, even against his own brother.  “It’s alright, nong, you’re safe now. You’re home. I’m—hia’s here. Okay?” Kinn crawls closer. He keeps his voice even and soothing, or tries to, at least. He doesn’t know how well it works. Kim doesn’t move from his hiding place, and he doesn’t stop shaking.  Kim’s voice breaks when he chokes out, “I don’t know what’s happening.”  When Kinn comes closer, close enough to touch, Kim doesn’t flinch away from him. He picks his head up and fixes Kinn with his wide, red-rimmed eyes, and looks at him like he holds all the answers. Kinn desperately wishes he did.  “Hia?” “Come on, nong.” Kinn holds out his hand. “Let’s figure this out together.”

This is probably going to end up focused on Kim and Kinn's relationship, actually, since Kim is already a little closer to Khun. Luckily adult Khun is jsut as crazy as Kim remembers, and he takes the whole kid!Kim thing in stride, so naturally Kim gravitates towards him. But as much as he loves Khun, Kinn is the one he looks up to, the one he believes can fix everything. And Kinn, who takes on so much responsibility, who's finally the one in charge, can now protect Kim the way he thinks he should have when they were younger.

This fic is also where I started my headcanon that Khun calls Kim his little songbird. At some point adult Kim will see how easy it is for his younger self to get along with his brothers (talking, spending time, cuddling with them, all things Kim hasn't allowed himself in years) and it makes his heart ache. He thinks it's too late. Even apologizes that he isn't the brother Khun deserves, but Khun just huffs and calls him an idiot for ever thinking that jsut because he's broken out of his cage and is flying free, doesn't mean he isn't still Khun's precious songbird. He's jsut been waiting for Kim to stop being so stubborn and finally come home, and so as Kinn. Cue little Kim taking Kim's hand and dragging him into a cuddle pile bc see? how easy?? it is???

And it's not easy, because Kim doesn't have these memories of being close to his brothers. They feel like strangers to him now without them. But... it is nice. It's so good, he doesn't know how he's lived without them all these years. Kid!Kim is happily bundled up in one of Khun's fluffiest coats, calling Kim dumb for nor seeing how much he still needs them. The story is about Kim healing his inner child, but his child self ends up healing him, too.

There's also a really fun dynamic between Kid!Kim and Porsche, because Kinn. Does not know how to brother. But Porsche is very good at brothering, and he knows how to handle Little Brother Emotional CrisisTM. So until Kinn learns how to be a brother to Kim again, he's the one filling that role, and it's very cute. Esp. when Kim finds out Porsche is Chay's older brother, then he's all awkwardly trying to as about his super cute future boyfriend 🥺👉👈 (He tries to play it cool around Chay. he is not successful. Chay thinks he's adorable.)

After Kim is reunited with child self/no longer going around as two people, he ends up with really weird feelings towards Porsche? They weren't particularly close before, but suddenly? Porsche feels?? safe??? One day Kim just hugs him out of the blue and they both freeze because it was such a natural instinct to Kim he didn't even question it, but also he doesn't hug Porsche?? ever??? (Porsche thinks it's both hilarious and adorable)

Also I want to mention that I have a very similar AU to this, except it's Kinn that gets de-aged instead! Porsche drops him off at Kim's apartment out of the blue and Kim is like wtf no?? And that one has accompanying fanart! Little Kinn gets nightmares, and he sneaks in to sleep with Kim bc he's too afraid to sleep alone 🥺

I want to explain the parallels/similarities between ReiBert and AkiToya. And the parallels/similarities between YmiHisu and AnHane.

ReiBert/AkiToya first:

Basically, Reiner is seen as the more tough, extroverted, ‘obnoxious’ one whilst Bert is shown to be a bit more reclusive and a follower. He’s also shown to not be very good at talking to people that much or expressing stuff outwardly. Akito and Touya are similar to that; Akito can put on a nice guy persona but if you fw Touya or any of his mates or his music he doesn’t let it slide. He’s really devoted and a lot more expressive and can be prone to more extreme solutions. Touya is different, he struggles to really define others emotions and he struggled with his own for a while. He’s not much of a follower, but he won’t speak up the same way Akito does. Touya has his own strengths tho, and his singing is just as strong.

As a couple, both Reibert and Akitoya seem like actual soulmates. They’re extremely close and seem to be the only people they trust and confide it fully. Akito/Reiner and Bertholdt/Touya will defend the other with their life and will always bring each other up, but they also push each other to be better

YmiHisu/AnHane:

An and Ymir are shown to be a lot more extroverted in talking/actions and they don’t seem to care about what others think as much. The only think that matters to them is Kohane/Historia.

Ymihisu are (were) VERY devoted to each other and always spent time together despite their clashing personalities.

During Ymir’s final scenes and stuff, esp during her letter, she seems to maybe feel guilty (?) about hiding this from historia and not feeling deserving of her despite loving her a lot. An did feel this way too, as for a while she felt like she was holding Kohane back from her true potential and didn’t want that to happen because she felt guilty and she could see just how talented Kohane was.

Kohane and Historia are similar in a sense that they’re both sweet girls that did the unexpected. For Kohane it was to challenge her confidence and prove people wrong to become an amazing singer, whilst for Historia it was challenging those that thought she was small and weak, and becoming a very powerful titan slayer (I lowk forgot the name sorry lol), to then becoming fucking Queen?!? They both proved people wrong. And they’re also shown to be incredibly caring and empathetic.

Just like Akitoya/Reibert, both couples trust each other more than anyone and are the closest ‘friends’ ever. Even if Ymir is now dead, their love isn’t, and I think that also works with Anhane. If An and Kohane ever split, their love won’t, because they are actual soulmates to the highest degree.

Also wanna add that at first Ymir didn’t seem to get close w anyone in the training thing but as soon as she saw Historia they were instantly close. This is similar to An, who before Kohane, didn’t have a singing partner and was looking for the right one. Kohane walked into her dad’s bar/cafe coincidentally, A convinced her to sing w her once and immediately put her as her partner.

she’d be stood in front of a mirror in their house and squinting at her own reflection, asking, “something feels wrong. i can’t tell what it is, but something feels misplaced on me.” and link peers over to have a look and he’s absolutely mystified because she’s literally gorgeous there isn’t a damn thing wrong with her—and then she starts focusing on her chest, looking at it from the side, squishing it down with scrutinising eyes to see if they’d look better flat and ah. it makes sense now. so, as i said earlier, he helps her bind, makes sure it isn’t too tight and always keeps an eye on how long she’s been wearing it (she is horribly forgetful after all), lets her comb through his ridiculously extensive wardrobe to see what pieces fit where and how to figure out how she wants her clothes to fit, then taking her down to sayge to retailor some old clothes he doesn’t mind her having once they figure it out, helping her figure out the terms and pronouns she’s comfortable with, just the most useful and best supporter you could ever ask for in the beginning of your transition.

I think I would be happier w bucktommy all these episodes down the line if Tommy still interacted with or asked after Eddie. I know there’s a lot the show doesn’t put onscreen so there’s no reason why it couldn’t have plausibly happened or couldn’t still happen (and I hope it does), but Tommy was Eddie’s friend first! They hung out a lot!

And yet, since he got together with Buck, we haven’t gotten to see them interact.

Granted, there hasn’t been a lot of screen time for Tommy and that’s fine, it’s a short season w very little room to breathe. This isn’t some sort of angry anti bucktommy tirade. But it does make me just a tad uncomfortable the way things are at this moment. Bc it’s not a stretch to theorize that maybe Tommy was hoping things Eddie might go somewhere and when they didn’t, he tried with Buck. I don’t think that’s supported by the text, but it’s also not negated, either. Idk. It’s not a huge deal at the moment, just a little snag?

Listen I am a buck fan but I am an eddie fan!!!!!!! And I am so so sad for eddie this season it’s been rly fucking rough on him! Not like buck needs to change anything (except not be a jealous freak and lash out physically if he can’t use his words), like I said I’m here for bucktommy I think they’re great. But like. Where’s the awkward “hey how do we hang out now that you two make out sometimes” or whatever?? We deserve to see that tbh! It’s a more common issue in queer circles, that ppl have to slip in and out of romantic/platonic interactions when people partner up or break up. It’s also the first time either of them have dated anyone within the LAFD and so it’s the first time this could ever have even come up!

Idk man. Just I keep thinking about how happy eddie seemed when he was hanging out w Tommy and maybe it’s just bc that ep was meant to be from Buck’s pov but i don’t know what’s worse, thinking it WAS real and now he doesn’t get to have that friendship anymore or that it WASNT real and he was never actually having that good of a time.

MY REAL POINT is that anyone who WAS or IS a buddie shipper or anyone who likes Eddie at all has to acknowledge how important buck and eddie are to each other, right? Which means that in any relationship that either of them ever have, if they want it to be serious and have long term potential, they actually need to integrate their partner with their best friend.

Maybe this is too weird for some ppl? It’s always seemed like a given, like if there’s someone new and important in my life, I def want my best friend to meet them and like them bc I want us all to be able to spend time together! I don’t want to feel split between them all the time! And esp with Tommy already having connections with most of the 118/main cast, and particularly Eddie, it would make sense for us to see them interacting!

Idk. I’m probably wanting too much from my network tv show lol I just. I will literally never take bucktommy seriously as a pairing if they don’t manage to address the Eddie of it all. Little…Well LONG thing about Bamsaegi and co

So they all managed to get out of the gas chamber and escape underground. They find a hidden mineshaft that was left behind from the wolves and recover there, they think everything is finally okay but the worst happens as the mineshaft collapses on itself and they’re trapped once again. They’re not dying but they’re completely stuck.

They all try to make the best of the situation, stay positive yknow? But that can only go so far and eventually everyone is hungry tired and fed up with everything, Bamsaegi especially.

They’ve been trapped for a few weeks and Undochi keeps trying to tell everyone that Flower Hill is coming for them, that they still need to keep hope for Flower Hill so they can continue serving and Bamsaegi fucking snaps.

“WE’VE BEEN HERE FOR WEEKS! There’s not coming! They’re never coming! They probably already have a funeral ready for us and are parading us around as Martyrs just like your brother, just like Mulori, just like everyone else! Are you really this delusional?? We are gonna die in here!”

Undochi still having that Flower Hill propaganda deep inside him, gets angry esp since Bam brought up his brother.

“Well SORRY for trying to be positive! It’s not my fault you believe a random note you thought your brother sent! How’s that going for you? You’re so naive, don’t forget we’re in this mess because you stupidly thought everything was over! It’s no wonder Geum likes me more than you. He’s probably not even looking for you anymore, is he?!” And it eventually turns into an actual fight as Murori desperately tries to keep them both from murdering each other

He has to talk a lot of sense into them once he gets them off of each other. “Are you two crazy?? The more you fight the more likely this place will collapse on top of us, you two might be fine being buried alive but I’m not! We’re all tired, maybe they won’t find us, but killing each other just makes so if they do find us they’ll only be dragging out corpses! Put your anger towards finding a way out of here!”

They eventually dig a little into the mineshaft, but the tunnels lead to no where, they do find a lot of hidden information about the wolves, weasels and especially flower hill since it seems like the mineshaft was there to store physical files of information when they switched over to being completely digitally

And finding out the horrors of your homeland probably won’t end well for them

Undochi is trying so hard to cope. “Noo guys im sure we had a good reason! We aren’t monsters! R-Right…?”

“No Undochi I don’t think any amount of ANYTHING deserves stuff like this…Was my brother really doing this kinda stuff to the enemy?”

“It’s fake! It HAS to be fake!”

“It too real to be fake…We did all this, and more. Your brothers…My sister…Oh I’m gonna be sick…”

They eventually get out, they’re close to Flower Hill but after seeing what they’ve seen they don’t consider it their homes anymore, especially since they get to spy on their own funerals! Fun right?

They all think “Screw this place, if they think we’re dead then we don’t have to serve anymore, we can do whatever we want! This isn’t our home anymore!”

But the only thing really stopping this is Bamsaegi, he wants his parents, both of them. He thinks he can save them! Jul is still in the hospital so they do the very sane and normal thing of breaking into the hospital and kidnapping him whilst trying not to be spotted

Jul is obviously VERY fucking confused because moments ago he was grieving his son being dead and here he is, alive trying to kidnap you!

Bamsaegi is really emotional whilst trying to explain WHY he’s doing this and how Flower Hill is bad and everything and Jul is like “Look Bam, I care more about the people IN flower hill than Flower Hill itself…If you don’t wanna be here I can’t force you.”

Unfortunately it isn’t up to Jul.

They still have to find Geum, and he…He isn’t gonna be very nice about it, not nice at all

They managed to find Geum, it takes a lot of planning esp since Geum is still undercover but they manage to knock him out and drag him out of the Wolves Den

When he awakes he’s at first confused and disoriented esp since Bam is alive, but when he finally adjusts and realizes what’s going on he isn’t happy in the slightest

“HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?! DID THE GAS CHAMBER MAKE YOU LOSE BRAINCELLS?? Do you realized what you’ve done?! You already made us go back to fighting and now you’re trying to pull me away and let everyone in Flower Hill die and for what?!? Because you’re upset about a few things we HAD to do?!?!”

Bamsaegi tries desperately to explain whilst is screaming at him, Jul is trying to calm him down but to avail.

“You don’t understand! This isn’t right! Flower Hill is just as bad as the others! This war is meaningless and it’ll never end! You’ve thrown half of your life away just because Flower Hill convinced you that it was your fault that you trusted Uncle Bear! It’s the conmanders who are trying to trick you into staying Dad! They’re using you! We don’t have to deal with it! We can just stay here and be happy like before!”

Geum, however, isn’t convinced. Straight up slapping Bamsaegi. He isn’t yelling, but his tone makes himself very clear that it isn’t up for debate.

“I am your guardian, I have been for years therefore you can’t do anything without my permission. And I refuse to give you permission to do something this traitorous. Your friends can do what they want, Jul…You can support them if you wish. But I will not let you betray Flower Hill. You are a stupid, naive child who doesn’t know anything about the real world. I was wrong to think you were ready to be a scout, I’ll be sure they train you better. We are going home, and I will go back to defend OUR hill like we’re supposed to. This isn’t a battle you can win.”

True to his word Geum does exactly that, much to Undochi, Murori and Jul’s dismay. The two kids try to stop him but Geum is a lot stronger than the two of them, so they have to wait before trying anything.

Jul isn’t happy, he tells Geum as much.

“You’re angry at me?”

“Extremely.”

“Look…I-I didn’t wanna do it either, but he can’t be thinking these kinds of things.”

“He’s already afraid of you Geum…You’re just giving more of a reason to be scared.”

“I know…But what else am I supposed to do? Let him run off to get killed by some weasel and not be able to fight back? If he stays here’s he’s safe, if he fights for Flower Hill he’ll have backup. If he’s out there? Nothing.”

“Hitting him doesn’t show that, even you know that…He should be able to make his own decisions even if you don’t approve. If he’s old enough to die for Our Hill he’s old enough to make that choice.”

“But that choice will lead to him dying!”

“So does fighting for Flower Hill! Geum he isn’t like you…Or he isn’t like you now…He had a point you know? I can tell…You still blame yourself for what happened with Uncle Bear…”

“…I can’t let him make the same mistake I did. He stays here.”

“Just…Really think about it Geum. Don’t push it away…I already lost Mulori, I don’t wanna lose you too.”

It’s a lot for Geum to think about

Undochi and Murori have already started planning to kidnap Bam back, sneaking in occasionally beforehand to talk with him.

They’re both pissed, Undochi especially!

Meanwhile Geum is maybe having an existential crisis about the whole “oh shit maybe I HAVE been brainwashed!” As the whole kidnapping Bamsaegi thing is happening which is great for Bam and co. Jul may or may not be helping them <4

Morning comes, Geum sees Bam isn’t there. “Did he run away?”

“Are you gonna look for him, you’re supposed to go back undercover today.”

“No. I have to…Talk with the commander first…”

Geum needs to see if the commanders are really…Well good for Flower Hill. Good to serve.

They greet him with open arms, he is there most loyal soldier after all. But Geum is there with one simple question.

“When I found out we couldn’t rely on Uncle Bear…We were able to drive the weasels out pretty quickly. Were we always that strong?”

“Of course! We didn’t need Uncle Bear, Flower Hill must be self reliant!”

“So then…Why did you let them attack? It was clear they were gonna do something…Why did you wait till Uncle Bear was already on the blackout drunk on the floor?”

“Well, how else would you learn? If you didn’t see the truth of the situation you would’ve just relied on Uncle Bear forever!”

“Learn….?”

“We had to teach you a lesson somehow! It worked, didn’t it? You know better now?”

“…Yes. I do.”

The commanders try to send Geum back undercover, he pretends to agree. But he isn’t going back. No, he serves his home, and Flower Hill clearly isn’t his home anymore. No, instead he goes to find Bamsaegi. He has a lot…a LOT of apologizing to do after all <3

Now realistically it would probably take a bit more to convince Geum but shhhhhh its fine <333

— You cannot tell me this man is not a pred. It’s impossible. Whoever designed his fangs knew what they were doing. i think he’d be a kinda unwilling pred at first, he’s not too eager at the idea of nomming prey if he doesn’t know them well or it’s not something he’s familiar with.

If he’s feeling really stressed out, then he might go to someone he trusts and knows well and nom them for comfort. He secretly likes working with someone tucked away since it feels nice. Plus he knows he won’t get hungry if he has someone inside, so that’s one less thing to worry about while he works.

I doubt he’d ever nom anyone without making sure it’s completely safe. He’s probably done hundreds of tests on his own body (it’s the scientist in him).

Would he go for protection vore? Yes. He’s got an injured person on his hands? He’s got a safe and comfy place to put them while he deals with a threat. Or maybe he’s protecting the person he nommed from doing something incredibly stupid.

“…That’s a really dumb idea,”

“No, we’re not doing it. What d’you mean you’re doing it anyway?? Come back, you idiot! You’re going to get yourself killed! Dios mío…get over here. Nompf — gulp. I’ll take care of it by myself,”

i don’t think he’d immediately go to gulping down the person as his first impulse to get them out of a dangerous situation. He’d go through all of his options and if it happens to be the best one he has at the moment, he’ll do it. But if he has the choice of not having to resort to nomming and has other options, he probably won’t do it. He understands it’s pretty terrifying even if he repeatedly assures the person that it’s completely safe.

He’s a huge guy so downing prey def isn’t too much for a challenge for him. He likes the pleasant feeling of being full. He might enjoy mouth play, but not to the extent of actually hurting the person.

Would he be mean? Depends on who you are, if you’re an innocent civilian or injured spider person, he’ll give you a quick rundown on what he’s doing and why. I kinda doubt he’d just swallow you without any sort of explanation unless he’s in an hurry or he’s stressed out and running on spider instincts.

If you’re an anomaly, he’ll probably bite you and paralyze you before sending you down. No warning, most likely won’t try to be gentle. Then he’d cart you back to hq and spit you out in the go home machine or in one of his cell holders. Or just enjoy the feeling of being comfortably full for a hour or so before spitting the anomaly out.

there’s a low chance he’ll actually ask anyone if he can eat them since it’s a bit of an awkward question and mig is more emotionally constipated than a bear without laxatives. Unless you offer, he’ll probably never ask. Poor guy thinks he doesn’t deserve it.

Slowly, he’ll become more comfortable asking some people (the one’s he’s close with/protective of). I like the idea that his spider instincts don’t urge him to nom just because he’s hungry, but because he has this instinctual need to protect and be as close as physically possible to that person.

one of his biggest fears is losing control of his instincts and hurting someone on accident. If it does happen, his instincts are mostly focused on protection and nothing else. It’s still a part of him. Of course it’s hard to communicate that to someone while he’s in that feral state, so it’s likely he’ll scare them as he’s trying to nom them. I can’t imagine the guilt he’d feel when he gets out of that state and feeling someone panicking inside. Esp if it’s their first time and they don’t know they’re safe.

What are your top ten favorite scenes in Avatar the Last Airbender?

Ok… so ummm… they are in no particular order:

1. The last Agni Kai of course: The music, colors, emotions, the rise of one sibling & fall of another. I adored the red vs blue & of course the whole ‘self sacrificing Zuko’ lol

2. “get out of the bisons mouth Sokka”: It was just so funny to me Zuko was already done with everyone shit and he JUST joined the gaang imagine if he has joined season 1 hahah.

3. Zuko swimming into the NWT: because like…. You fucking idiot.

4. Anytime aang went into the avatar state (esp in season 1): he was such a goofy child then he would start to glow & there was so much power inside him idk I thought it added to his character a lot and reminded people that this kid is the fucking avatar

4. “Come back when the good is on the outside too”: or however the quote goes when iroh came to get the gaangs help to save Zuko and Sokka once again was just like nahhh fuck that guy. (This also goes along with the Sokka wanting to leave Zuko to die in the snow - I just love he wasn’t having any of zukos shit)

5. Zukos gay fire breath and sokkas bi awakening: because for an early 2000s show that was hella gay

6. Zuko blue spiriting to save aang: it was moment I think I started to like Zuko haha.

7. When the gaang was training for the final battle with Ozai & they were all fighting together & at the end Sokka and Zuko were pretty much like you gotta kill the fire lord aang & Sokka sliced the melon head in half; (toph being the melon lord was epic too)

8. Sokka Ice dodging a bato: idk that was such an important moment for Sokka & he deserves to feel important and have a male figure invest time into him so hell yeah Bato.

9. It’s a tie between Sokka telling toph boomerang isn’t coming back & toph saying “that’s a lot of fire isn’t it?”: the seriousness of that scene and the way Sokka never stopped fighting & how he would have held onto toph as long as he could - it was such a powerful moment (& then of course Suki saved the day!!)

10. Last but not least the kyoshi warriors training with Suki whooping Sokka into shape! Suki is one of my favorites and she is both firm and gentle with Sokka which I think is fun! (& then Zuko comes to burn everything down and Sokka gets to fight with the uniform on haha!)

11. Because fuck it, any scene with Zuko & Jet interacting - it’s like two scenes, one when they kissed on the ferry, and then their major break up with swords. That’s how it happened don’t argue with me.

About hair…

TIG’s best hair is in Crackerjack in my opinion, bar none. He looked so handsome there with that floppy cut it’s not even funny. Also really loved the shorter, salt n’ pepper look in that movie where he goes to Poland or something (and he’s a cop). Super handsome and also distinguished! I have mixed feels about the Excessive Force hair (not a fan of mullets, but TIG’s such a looker so…). Also liked his hair in Escape from Alaska and silver fox look in The Kidnapping/Black Friday.

Might be an unpopular hot take, but my all time favorite “Daniel” look is in Cuba and His Teddy Bear as Teddy. What a total doll, the messy, shaggy hair just WORKS for him because it frames his face and brings out how very pretty he really is, how dark and expressive his eyes are. Day 23 - Discuss Tosh. Opinions? Favorite moment? Least favorite moment? Any unpopular opinions? Any fun headcanons?

tosh my babygirl my princess light of my life angel darling… shes so good. shes so good 🥺 i love her dearly. she’s so damn underutilized i hate how the show regulates her to a supporting role + only uses her for romantic plots. WACK shes so much more than that. i want a plotline about her cyberterrorism like hello??? i want a plotline about her warped little mind.. i want a plotline about her finally learning spanish ;-; that show did not do her justice and it did not deserve her. i often say torchwood’s characters are too good for the show; tosh is probs the best example of that. no other character gets screwed over as badly as she does by the narrative (not even ianto!) she’s so tragic and lonely i just wanna give her the biggest hug ever. 

fav moment… every time she smiles. (or smirks. hrgh. tosh call me.) also every time she geeks out about smth. im tryna think of a specific moment but idk if i have one?? i just love her overall i smile every time she’s on screen she’s my girlie. when i rewatch i might rmr one though

least favorite moment, the absolute only thing i can think of (hell, my only complaint with her as a character other than i wish she’d get over owen cuz bad taste queen pls u deserve sm better) - it’s always bothered me how she goes over to owen’s flat in aditd and just starts babbling about her own problems. she even says something like “you think everything’s about you”, and in that ep it’s like ??? why are they all acting like he’s unjustified being miserable and angry when he's fucking dead?? like they're all so unsympathetic and mean, even tosh, and out of her it's especially weird?? tbh it just strikes me as ooc (+ kind of misogynistic highkey) writing. i mean, by all means, let tosh bitch, she deserves to blow off some steam + esp deserves to be rude to owen tbh fhsdkjfsd, but the way it’s done in that particular moment feels ooc and, like, how men write women as talking too much and never listening lmao u kno what i mean (owen’s tuned out in the actual episode but you can see her full ramble in the original script, on page 23). tosh has never troubled anyone with her issues before, why would she choose now to, and when she knows owen’s struggling? yeah, on second thought, i don’t hold that against her actually, that’s ooc to me fhdkf. thts just the writer being a wiener.

my only unpopular opinions (slash hot takes) are that 1) towen fucking SUCKS get her away from him, and 2) most people like tosh but she’s highkey underappreciated, esp in fanfic, because of fandom racism + misogyny. she’s not bashed like gwen is but she’s ignored completely which is nearly as bad, and a lot of it’s cuz she happens to be in a show with two white men in a gay relationship who are overwhelmingly prioritized 💀 i will never not be petty about the way that ship dwarfs everything else in comparison. also throwing towen into the background of janto is so gross n cheap. if ppl cared abt her they'd do smth more interesting. and it's never well-done either. ugh.

i have a few hcs that are gonna end up in my owento verse (gwen and tosh are prominent characters in it bc i love them, and their relationships w owen and ianto and each other also have value lawl). tbh a lot of em are just things i think they should introduce into their lives to be happier. i want them happy ;-;

she starts coding video games recreationally!! nothing fancy but she rlly enjoys it + also gets into the swing of making little storylines n getting to express herself that way which is good for her. owen playtests shit for her

her and gwen go on spa dates sometimes. they put it on the torchwood credit card

she gets into fish tanks and fish tank care!!! esp like aquarium plants. shrimp and moss balls, that sort of thing. maybe plecos or loaches. she loves it + it’s grounding, which is good for her bc shes otherwise always got her head in her computers yanno. she’ll sit by her tank while she codes her games and the water sounds are calming. 

she also sits by it while she studies her spanish books which she does finally do. she doesn’t get around to the piano, though; doesn’t prioritize buying a keyboard. maybe one day (this is a nobody dies au btw so she will in fact eventually get around to it ;-;)

oh she’s autistic have i said that. the fish tanks absolutely become a spin. she has a few we know of from canon - math and computers, obviously, but also history (gbg) and the uk’s rivers (from gooseberry; i think it was just the uk maybe it was europe’s rivers. or the world’s! i don’t remember). she also loves trivia like she knows a fair amount about quite a lot of things + loves accumulating random info

lowkey also. giving her a kitty. i think tosh should have a lil fuzzy kitty to keep her company 

well this is smth from my owandy verse but i think it should happen anyway. so it kind of kicks off bc gwen mixes up a blind date (it was gonna be tosh & andy and then owen & a friend of hers, but shes an adhd icon n bungles the invites <3)... tosh ends up with gwen’s friend, who’s straight, but they hit it off and she invites tosh to have drinks or maybe come to a bookclub meet or something with some friends of hers?? point is, tosh makes some casual friends. maybe meets a pretty girl there or smth 👁️ but mainly i want tosh to have girl friends like i think she grew up very lonely i want her to have some normalcy

also sometimes i like tosh x andy maybe they have a little meet cute at a torchwood crime scene or smth fshdkfd. i think they’d be cute and he’d treat her well. she'd babble abt tech stuff and he wouldnt understand a damn word but he'd listen very intently

i also like tosh x ianto for similar reasons. i think it’d be a kind of friends to lovers sitch... they should just be close in general tbh, platonically or not yanno, and in my owandy verse i like the idea of smth kicking off between them i just think theyd be so sweet

she’s a very sleepy drunk and also a lightweight. if the team goes out to drink she’ll get two glasses of smth moderately fruity and then fall asleep against someone’s shoulder it’s very cute (this is just cuz i like the idea of a sleepy tosh 🥺 my baby my baby shes so precious to meee)
