Thinking about how, when we first met Chi Cheng, his most treasured belonging was kept in an empty cage in the back seat of a car—always on the move. Nothing holding him there. Everything he had, stripped away.
Thinking about how, after he met Suowei, Little Jealousy got to move into a beautiful little home—a home built by Wu Suowei’s own hands.
Thinking about how, as their relationship grew and flourished and expanded, so did Little Jealousy’s enclosure—until now, she has something big and beautiful and permanent.
I think I could write a poem about it—the way the enclosure’s growth mirrors Chi Cheng’s own; both shaped by Wu Suowei. About how Wu Suowei gave them both a reason to stay.
I could probably write a poem about it, but I think I’ll leave it at that. You get the idea.
