Tips for all of my alternative & Chronically ill/ disabled friends!

A big thing that's helped me feel more comfortable accommodating my disability is finding accessibility tools that reflect my personality / interests.

I should put a disclaimer that making disability "aesthetic" should not be the most important thing about your health! I do this where I can to help me accept my disability.

Here are some alt accessibility tools I've found / made & utilized for myself!

1. If you're prone to nausea:

Anti-nausea meds work, but I also find that peppermints work just as well! I always have mints on me. At home, I've stored them in this coffin container!

I do keep a few of these mints in my bag, as well as ginger hard candies (they taste very strong, but are VERY efficient). I got the peppermints at Dollar tree, and they've genuinely been a life saver.

Alternatively, I've found this adorable ouija board altoids container that has mints in it!

The mints are even fun-shaped! I also saw other horror-movie themed altoid containers in-store as well. Since they're tiny, they dont work well for severe nausea, but they are still helpful!

2. If you struggle with temperature-regulation:

For me, my hands and feet are always FREEZING, but my core will be super warm. What has helped me a lot has been gloves and fuzzy socks!

I have a lot of spooky gloves like this, but I prefer the fingerless ones because I can still use my phone and be warm at the same time! I've also heard my friends who are wheelchair users say gloves can help protect your hands if you use a manual wheelchair. Another added bonus is that certain gloves can help limit mobility for those of you who struggle with hypermobility in your hands.

3. Do you have noise-canceling headphones? Decorate them!

I decorated my N/C headphones in shark stickers because sharks are my special interest!

These are Soundcore Life Q30's. I have gotten compliments on the stickers many times! You could put halloween stickers on yours or decorate your headphones in other ways! I've seen people crochet horns onto the headband portion of their headphones.

4. I would recommend any chronically ill person carry a cup around to stay hydrated:

ESPECIALLY If you need electrolytes. You can either have a drink like propel or powerade in your cup (or any drink of your choice, and you could put electrolyte packets in there).

This specific cup isn't the best at keeping my drink cold, but it holds a decent amount of liquid! And it's spooky. If you're someone who struggles to drink enough water, I've found that getting a fun cup helps me a lot!

5. Make communication bracelets!

If I'm having a difficult time voicing my needs, or I'm in a verbal shutdown, these bracelets can come in handy for me.

I'll either wear them on my wrist when needed or present them to my friends so they can read the bracelet and understand what I need. I keep them on a keychain that way I dont lose them and can transport them easily. An example of some of the phrases I've turned into bracelets is; "No spoons," "spoon debt," "verbal shutdown," and "flashbacks," (for when I'm having a PTSD episode.) You could make a bracelet with the medical condition you have as a DIY medical-alert bracelet. I added tiny spoon charms to some of my bracelets because I thought it was funny.

5. Mobility aids!

Decorate your mobility aids with things like stickers, kandi, lights, etc! Pinterest, instagram, and tiktok have a lot of good ideas. You can easily customize your mobility aids to look spooky or look however you want them to!

6. Bags!

I know that for me, I NEED to carry a bag around whenever I go out because it has important medical items that I need, but it also keeps all my important items like keys, id, ect, in one spot so that I dont forget / lose them. SOME spooky bags are expensive, but you could find a plain black bag at a thrift store or walmart and accessorize it with patches, keychains, and pins! I've seen people paint designs onto their bags before as well.

• You dont have to spend a lot of money on your accessibility tools!

Find ways to DIY them, or get them secondhand! You could even try working with household items you already have! A lot of these items, or items very similar to it, can be found at the dollar tree - even the materials needed to make the beaded bracelets! (Outside of the spoon charms)

Now. I agree about the misunderstanding about what "AI" is, however I was not going to go on a long and complicated tangent about the differences and misunderstandings in a problem venting blog like this. Most of that last paragraph could have been simplified but since you're so hung up on me swearing, I'm gonna not put a lot of effort into rereading it, and just go for what i obviously disagree with.

1. Fuckin just dont use it? This is assuming that said hypothetical person is incapable of saving up to commission an artist. Which in this economy can be understandable for those that live paycheck to paycheck. I would argue however, as someone who lives paycheck to paycheck, that they have better priorities than having a painting on their wall or on their computer. What "something" could be so important that you "need" artwork for? And don't mix up "want" and "need" here. I wanna know what is so essential to a person living that they need artwork for it.

2. The same chat bot one person uses for "personal roleplay they never post" is used by hundreds of others for online roleplay, generating responses to real people, or generating fics to post. People have gotten by long enough without chat bots. They do not need them. It is a greedy and lazy want, and people act like spoiled children over the thought of their toy that does everything for them being taken away. This doesn't even mention the resources needed just to generate these responses.

Fandom is a hobby. You know whats also a hobby? Pottery, wood working, glass making, smithing ect.

Machines can automate a lot of that work for you. Hell most of the mugs in your cup board are probably made by a machine. Made perfectly identical to eachother that you bought at walmart or something. Designed by a human but still made by a machine. Same with pins and charms and stickers you find of etsy. Designed by humans made by machines.

You can't automate the design process. That's why things you buy in store or online designed by a human can still be considered art, are still appreciated by people as art and are bought to support the artist. Consensual copies of the original designed/made by a human maybe but still better than stolen work chopped up and put together by a machine.

The thing about fandom is that it has always been about art and the artists. Whether you write, sing, paint, or what have you. You cannot automate the process of making something original. You cannot automate the process of appreciating something. A machine cannot appreciate the show you love. Producing generated responses to a roleplay you are in just shows how little you value someone elses effort they put into their writing. People who think you can automate art don't view art as art. They view it as content to consume. Entertainment for them.

Its a greedy and selfish desire that drives people to use "AI" to automate content for them to consume. They don't want human connection. They want entertainment and they want the easiest way of obtaining it. Its lazy and soulless. And I'm sick of it.

—EMERGENCY COMMISISONS.

So uh, hi guys! While I sold at a convention this past weekend and did pretty okay, most of that money went towards a few bills, paying for my table. Ect. I’m actually still behind on some bills and wasn’t able to pay for everything. I also won’t have enough for groceries tomorrow either.

Rottmnt oc headcannons

Part four : Angie

Alright, I officially finished Angie’s head-cannons. Akdjdak sorry it took me so long, I’ve been really busy for the past few months and got kind of distracted. Plus I was trying to add a few more headcannons for her and I couldn’t settle on how many I wanted to add.

Anyways here they are ^W^ also gonna be linking each of my four rise oc’s headcannons in my introduction post as well

- she learned to cook mostly on her own. Kind of observing from afar by watching her mother and sisters work when she was younger at first and then doing it herself as she got older. Slowly learning more and more along the way.

- let’s Mikey paint her nails to match her outfit, mood or just for the randomness of it after she taught him how to paint nails or let’s him paint a few random little shapes on her using her graphic liners for the exact same reasons. He may or may not love adding flowers across her cheeks and nose like freckles.

- her sisters and Mikey’s brothers swear the pair share a brain cell

- they like to give each other piggyback rides. Bought one of those oversized hoodies so they could both wear it at the same time for cuddles on the go

- Angie likes to collect squish-mallows or just plushies in general. Like A LOT of them. Has one of those little hammocks hanging above one side of her room where she keeps them. She will lend them out to Mikey, her sisters, April, the other turtles if they want one. Her favorite is a strawberry frog squish-mallow that she found at a thrift store and likes to hold it to calm down from being overstimulated.

- hates. Hates. Absolutely hates Being sick because she hates being stuck in bed and she’s hates the sensory issues that come with it. Mainly the fact she can barely smell or taste anything when she’s sick.

- always willing to try new foods, baked goods, drinks ect. Her and Mikey like to cook or bake together

- loves cozy games, her favorite would have to be animal crossing or Minecraft, she made an entire candy land themed carnival in Minecraft

- owns a lot of pastel clothing, also a lot of different aesthetics inhabit her closer but a common theme with a lot of her clothes is prints, embroidery or cute patterns.

- is currently learning knitting, and trying to teach raph and sunny how to knit

- a lot of dates she and Mikey go on once they start dating involve going to small bakeries or random places to paint. Picnic dates on the rooftops or at the park are a must with them

- if Mikey is hiding in his shell, Angie will literally just sit down beside him and watch random videos or listen to music together until he comes out. However if he wants to be carried around, she will do that as well

- adores stickers, buying them and making them, collecting them and giving them to her friends and family as a kind gesture. She and Mikey literally somehow give each other a new sticker like three to four times a week

- her favorite bag is a pink Shiba Inu boba bag, puts a punch of pins and charms in the spaces where pins and charms can be put

- Has an entire little office in her room just dedicated to her working on art. Organized drawers of markers, colored pencils, paints ect. A shelf of sketchbooks and canvases, a drawing tablet always charged and ready for hours of drawing

- is absolutely terrified of hippos. (loves the pigmy hippo) she has a phobia of hippos after one nearly bit her arm at a zoo when she tried to feed it watermelon when she was little

- A bad habit of hers is pushing down/setting aside her own feeling of sadness or anger to comfort and tend to others. So much so that sometimes, when she gets to a quiet spot where no one can bother her, after a rough situation she will just sit there and cry and this is something that honestly takes her awhile to officially work on,

- enjoys sitting up on the roof or any spot with a good view of the sunrise or sunset. Something about seeing all the colors fade in together brings her a sense of joy

- has a big fear of anything sharp or anything that could burn her eyes getting near her face after the whole incident with the kraang, where she was nearly splattered in the face by the slightly acidic blood. The only reason she was saved is because she managed to duck down just in the nick of time

- has three pet rats named princess peach, princess Daisy and princess Rosalina

- Her favorite pizza is just plain cheese pizza with some spices and peppers added on

- absolutely loves boba, her fav flavors are usually sweet like cotton candy, chocolate, vanilla, birthday cake ect.

- when the girls go to their grandparents farm, she immediately goes running to her favorite spot to go explore-which is an abandoned cabin she fashioned into a cottage

- Absolutely loves doing her hair, she has a notebook of all the styles she wants to give her curls. She’s got organized drawers for all her cute hair ties, scrunchies and hair clips. Her hair care routine is a something that actually brings her a lot of comfort when she’s stressed

- she loves shopping and visiting farmers markets and art fairs. She has to stop and look at every booth she can and when she’s at the farmers market? Except her to come home with at least one new plant or some homemade goods

- was diagnosed with autism and adhd when she was about fix or six

- After the kraang incident, she has a hard time with people moving their hands near the right side of her face without warning for a long while (a kraang blood almost got in her eyes and damn near blinded her) the only person she trusts to do that is honestly Mikey, because he quite literally was the one to shield her from getting directly hit head on when she lost the shield she’d been holding

- She and mikey confessed to eachother when he invited her over to the lair for a movie marathon and they had their first kiss on their first date, which was a rooftop picnic

- She doesn’t have too many nightmares after the kraang incident….just a specific two nightmares that come every once in awhile that are very very vivid that honestly freak her out. After she has them she usually either stays up for a little while and hangs out with her sisters in the living room for comfort or she goes out on a walk. If Mikey’s awake she’ll just pop over to the lair and talk with him for a while. Especially if they’ve both been having a rough night dealing with nightmares.

- she painted a mural in each of her sisters rooms. A sunny field for her sister sunny, the beach for her sister Skye and a fairy garden for her sister Marcy

- absolutely hates getting sick, like she tries to avoid getting sick when she can. However she doesn’t mind helping others out when they are sick…she just seems a little more cautious than usual

- Has a irrational fear of fire ants due to an incident she had when she was a child

- When the turtles had to defeat the shredder, Angie got a small scar from the incident on her left side when she pushed mikey out of the way of getting hit, which she covers up with some tattoos later on

- Has always wanted to cosplay princess peach. She’s got a whole vision board and everything

- Current champion of Mario party among her sisters (shes just oddly good at Mario party for some reason)

- She likes to bring her friends and family little gifts that remind her of them. Like for example she made April a set of flower charms for her bag or she brought Mikey a new apron after his old one got ruined while he was cooking

- She does talk in her sleep and girl says the most out of context random sentences when that happens

- her biggest goal is to one day open and run her own bakery

Anyways I’ve been sewing a reversible purse out of a pair of shorts. It’s so cool. I fucking hate sewing zippers so it has a lot of clasps buttons and Velcro. Ironically the pattern is drawings of gold chains but all the actual metal hardware on the purse itself is gun metal black,? It has belt loops and I think I’m gonna give it a real belt and put a ridiculous belt buckle on it. Just because I can 🤪 and of course I’m a hoarder so I have a handful of belt buckles and belts already now the issue is finding them.

I’d like to explain my art and how I do things as much as possible until the inevitable happens. Idk life is a crazy thing and an even weirder thing as an artist. A scarier thing as a starving artist lol. I’m moving at the end of the month so if you want anything from me now is the time to get it.

General Headcanons!

☆ For one, I think he would be super good at make up

○ Like once he hit 10, he removed the mask and practiced his make up skills

☆ His hair is so soft. Skid really wanted to take care of it and with the help of Lila, he now has soft, shiny and healthy hair

○ We all know he loves skeletons, but when I tell you he LOVES them

○ Obviously, Skid is a mamas boy. He always finds comfort in coming to Lila for advice and he's honestly happy just to have her in his life

☆ And he totally still doesn't cuddle up with mom after a nightmare

○ Skid and Pump love carving pumpkins together. Thats usually when most of their random memories are made, just carving pumpkins in Skids backyard

☆ Skid is definitely the more emotional one out of the spooky duo

○ Like he can easily get bothered, upset, sad, joyful, ect, with the press of a button

☆ Skid and Pump have sleepovers a l o t and usually found the next morning on the floor in Lila's living room floor with Skid using Pump as a teddy bear

○ Skid is always in a vacant headspace, usually in another world thinking hard about something

☆ As Skid grew older, he ends up really liking cats and ended up becoming an ally cat whisperer

○ Juane and Lila ended up getting married, which makes Ross, Kevin and Skid all brothers. And actually Skid was fine with this. He and Ross got along and Skid and Kevin had a relationship before hand

☆ Skid loves physical contact and most people catch onto this and acted on it ( Like Lila patting his head, Ross playfully punching Skids arm, Pump giving Skid hugs all the time, ect )

○ Skid is one for decorating his surroundings. Stickers and charms on his phone, buttons and keychains on his backpack, jewelry, ect

☆ Ross and Skid definitely game together

○ Skid is quick to adapt to things so if something changes he doesn't really have an issue

long awaited status update from Eggy!

I'm gonna take a break from creating this week. (August 17th-21st) (which is subject to extension)

I've got personal things I need to do this week (I'll explain under the cut). I just need to step back and properly prioritize. 😅👍🏻

and I'm still gonna reblog stuff and post whatever random thoughts I have, if I want to. this week is just gonna be a low pressure week for me to recharge and focus on myself

so, why am I taking a break from creating when I barely created in the first place? well that's exactly why. because my productivity is going down, that indicates that I need a break to recharge.

I've also been taking a break from taking my medication this summer in order to gain back weight and create a meal and workout plan going forward! this way I'll be healthier and more in shape.

so that's what im going to be doing this week! creating and starting a healthier routine for myself. getting physically healthier should also help my mental health too!

I also need a set break to just let go of the pressures I've put on myself. I expect too much from myself and take on a lot more than I can handle sometimes. so this break will allow me to sort out and tackle the things I've taken on!

and it'll allow me to set down rules for myself on how much I let myself take on.

to be completely honest, my room is also a mess and needs to be cleaned. I'm basically just spending this week getting my life in order 💀

I also need to look for a job! or at least something that can provide an income. this way I can look into creating and selling affordable charms/stickers/ect. for you guys later down the road.

Overall, I'm taking a break to focus solely on getting myself to the point where I can say that I'm healthy.

Don't worry, I'm not in any danger! I'm just working on this problem before it gets to the point of danger.

I love when you get questions about more business things like how you have stock during cons. It's just so impressive to hear about how everything works.

:D!! Honestly?? I love it too!There is a LOT of background stuff that goes on, when you make conventions and art into a full time business. Most of the things I’ve learned sorta took about 3 years to actually settle into something reasonable.

A couple extra things you might find interesting:

-I have a google drive spreadsheet including all my charms. Whenever a certain charm gets under about 8 left in stock, that section of the spreadsheet lights up to let me know I need to restock. I have similar spreadsheets for my pencil bags, stickers, and my newer posters.

-I won’t show anything too personal involving stuff, but I will show you a print out spreadsheet I use at the cons themselves. This was from a very small local 18+ con in Denver. When something sells, I check it off this sheet. After the convention is done, I go into my digital spreadsheet and add them up, so I’m always on top of how much I have.

(Don’t let the sales of Eeveelutions fool you, those were clearance misprint designs so they were way cheaper than everything else here)

-As you can probably guess by now, my keychains are my biggest focus, and with over 120 designs, they’re the hardest to keep track of. I also have over 4000 keychains in my bedroom as I’m typing right now. Save me.

Anyway, this is how I have them organized in my closet:

This is how I have things set up. All my pencil bags, keychains, and a few of my books are stocked in here.

All the little white tabs on top, are taped on. They are whiteboard paper, and everything is written in sharpie. Good news, if you ever want to get sharpie off of something, you just use whiteboard marker on top of it, then wipe! So I can change these as needed.

The boxes by the way, are all little photoboxes you can get at Micheals or Hobby Lobby. Currently, I own probably about 200 of these boxes.

-On that same spreadsheet program, I have tabs that list all the conventions I’m currently applying to (I have attempted to apply to 60+ shows around the united states, Alaska and Hawaii) and how i have to apply. Some shows require you to follow them on twitter to see when its announced, it’s the only reason I have twitter on my phone at all, and the kinder shows just send out emails. Some do neither, for…. some reason I can’t explain- and you just have to check their website. Those shows? Psh, I ain’t got time for that.

When you have 200+ designs, across keychains, pencil bags, posters, stickers, ect ect, and you have to keep track of them all? This is how you do it. At least, this is how I do it. Saves me a LOT of headache, and gives me free time I need for when I’m stressin.

The only way to do this as full time work, is to be excessively organized. Also, you have to seriously plan ahead. For example, I make virtually zero money in the months of November, December, February, and July.  I do make some money on patreon of course! But patreon has become a secondary income, and I try to pretend it ‘doesnt exist’ when I’m setting up my finances. Back when patreon was my primary income, I actually used to have panic attacks at the beginning of each month, because I never knew how much I’d have that month to live off of. Running my own business like this, takes all that stress away, because I have more control over my monthly income. So at a really good show, I’ll take a good chunk of cash, and set it aside for the tough months, so I can essentially survive the winter. I’m constantly thinking months ahead with my planning, so when those months hit, I won’t have any major panics. Those months are still really tough, but they aren’t disastrous.

I laugh at anyone who thinks people who do this sorta thing full time don’t actually work. Because obviously, this all ignores all the art I draw, keeping updates on Gloomverse going, ect ect.
