I think that a lot of the debate surrounding Vil’s gender identity would be cleared up if people accepted that Vil does not consider himself a feminine man. Vil doesn’t consider wearing makeup to be feminine. Vil does not consider the group performance to be feminine.

Vil isn’t doing feminine things despite being a man, nor is he reinterpreting feminine things as masculine. He does things because he considers them beautiful. Gender was never a part of the equation for him.

This bird was recently posted by a breeder who is saying it's a new color mutation, and that the feathers are actually like this- the bird is not wet, it just looks like crap because the feathers are weak/soft (lacking keratin). He seems pretty intent on breeding more of it, as well, which imo is putting profit over animal welfare.

Hopefully enough other peafowl folks (or heck, regular folks, you're welcome to say something if you can be POLITE) will speak gently to him about it before it gets that far, and help him to reconsider. I've already expressed my own concerns to him. At least if he goes through with it, he'll be doing so well aware that he shouldn't be doing it. But I'm really, really hoping he reconsiders.

I think the Ratiorine fandom really moved on too fast from the fact that Hoyo chose "charming audacity" and "dear gambler" as the first words players would hear from Ratio to Aventurine. Not the second scene. Not the third. The very first sentence players ever hear between those two.

And you know what, we also moved on much too quickly from the next scene too. Ratio was the one to start the whole "Aventurine is a peacock" thing. Why are you sitting around thinking about what alien animals your coworker reminds you of, Veritas? The joke is supposed to be that peacocks are noisy, but then they just drop that like a hot rock so the camera can do a slow pan on Aventurine's chest and Ratio can comment on Aventurine's clothing choices. Since when does Dr. Ratio care what people wear? Why were you looking?! Fellas, is it gay to compare your partner in crime to the symbol of male beauty???
