Life update in the read more :]

My new job starts next week!!

It was nuts how quickly I got hired relative to the interview time; I interviewed a week ago and essentially got hired on the spot bc literally an hour later, I got a call saying I'm in!!

It's so wild... I feel extremely lucky about how it all happened (and just in time bc my savings was starting to run out). I feel so many different emotions about this.

Nervous.

Excited.

Relieved.

Exhausted.

Uneasy.

Validated.

Worried.

Uncertain.

Grateful.

Fortunate.

I've always been an anxious person, especially when it comes to performing tasks for others. Right now, I'm anxious whether I'll actually do well at this job and if I'll be able to keep my work-life balance in-check.

I'm very prone to burn out. Heck, I feel like I'm recovering from something adjacent to burn out right now, due to the past 3 months of stress-filled job hunting alone. Even if I end up deciding that this company and/or role isn't for me, I never want to get to the point where I desperately feel like I NEED to leave in order to become sane again. It feels like it might be easy to fall into the same trap in this job and I'm a little worried about that.

But worries aside? I'm legit overjoyed :)

Instead of letting my anxiety spoil my mood, I've really been trying to celebrate this, because if I don't make a conscious effort to commemorate the victories in my life, I'll only remember the negative feelings I've felt along the way.

What I liked best about Jinx and Sevika's first post-Silco talk was how well it implies why their grief is so pronounced. Every complaint the two lodged at Silco was an admission at how dependent Silco had become on them, how much he LET himself be dependent. Silco didn't NEED to let Jinx give him his eye medicine, he was perfectly capable of doing so in season one's first act. The same could be said about Sevika, because while it wasn't nearly as extreme as with Jinx, he didn't need to give her so much responsibility. Frankly it's dangerous for a kingpin to give their righthand so much power (it's supposed to be spread around), and everyone noticed, even idiots like Finn.

That's why their loss is so pronounced, in all the years they dedicated to Silco, he gave up just as much of himself to them. Silco weakened himself and trusted Sevika and Jinx to make up for it. They filled eachother out, they needed eachother, and without him there's just a hole what they all used to give eachother.

Spade Pirates’ First Mate Sabo AU

Except Sabo and Ace both don’t realize it’s each other because Sabo still has amnesia and Ace can’t recognize Sabo after 7 years because of the mask

This came from the writing prompt someone gave me of Sabo and Deuce interaction and once I got thinking about them I was like. There’s too many parallels. And couldn’t stop thinking about it

In this AU Sabo doesn’t get saved by Dragon, washes up onshore on Goa before he dies, and survives to set sail again a week or so later, but still has amnesia. Realizing that sailing alone as a ten year old is pretty unfeasible though, he stops sailing after the first few islands and lives as a feral forest child on his own for the next seven years until he feels ready and strong enough to try again.

He chooses his own name, Tage (pronounced taj), based on the assumption that Sabo is his last name and his belongings are too ruined to read his given name :) credit to whery for the name pun idea it’s absolutely genius

I might do some short comics for this if I ever get around to it but for now it’s just a loose collection of ideas!

I really like that epithet lmao
