The entire album parachutes (no I’m never gonna shut up about this) is perfect for angst. It tells a whole story through the album. (THESE ARE MY INTERPRETATIONS OF THE LYRICS IF YOU FEEL DIFFERENTLY THATS OKAY!!)
1. Don’t panic just makes me sob, it’s the beginning and perfectly represents the feelings in a new relationship, we’ve fought for so much but it’s okay because the world is beautiful now.
2. Shiver - I’m beginning to catch proper feelings but are you? Am I really getting everything back?! “You pay me no attention” even though my heart is set on you. I will be by your side forever, even if you see straight through me. You need me to change? I will.
3. Spies - I’m so scared. There’s misfortune around every corner just waiting to end us. (Genuinely i cannot think of any romantic thing behind this song i did research and people are saying it’s about war… help me out coldplay fans🧍‍♂️)
4. Sparks - You’re gone now. I was too much. I’m sorry. Everything I am is yours. I will always be here. I saw those feelings. But you don’t return them anymore.
5. Yellow - The love song where everything revolves around your partner. It was all for you. Everything I have ever done.
6. Trouble - I didn’t mean to make you feel this way. Everything is jumbled up. I never meant for it to get this far. I’m sorry for loving you. I’m sorry for causing you so much trouble.
7. Parachutes - I understand. It’s over. I will always love you, no matter how difficult it is to see. I will always wait for you.
8. High Speed - I’ve been living inside this world where nothing matters but you, and now it’s too late. Can anybody help me get out of here? If I believe in you I can get out of here. Please help.
9. We Never Change - We do never change. It’s always you and me. I just want simplicity, but that will never happen with you. It will never be that easy. I want to be with you, but I know that will never happen, no matter how many tries we have.
10. Everything’s Not Lost - I still love you but I need to move on. If you need me, I will be here. I have so much to deal with, and yet you are first. No matter what I am sorting through, no matter what demons I am dealing with, if you feel neglected, I will be there
11. Bonus Track: Life Is For Living - I fucked up in the end. I know. And I’m so sorry. I don’t want to leave this life without you.

"Life is either an adventure or nothing."
--the motto of Sherry Manufacturing Co., manufacturer of tourist-trap souvenir T-shirts
Which could also be something of a mantra among much of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera ... especially when you have Snagglepuss and Huckleberry Hound on the road in their motorhome for the former's weekly postcards ... Peter Potamus and his intrepid(?!) Magic Divers, not to mention the Three Wolves and the Divin' Wolf Pups ... or even the Hair Bear Bunch out on the road during bear mating season, letting their inner juvenile sexual curiosity loose.
That's just for starters--can you imagine other likely possibilities Hanna-Barberian in this vein?

I want to see, real, living, and in the hours of my own days, that glory I create as an illusion. I want it real. I want to know that there is someone, somewhere, who wants it, too. Or else what is the use of seeing it, and working, and burning oneself for an impossible vision? A spirit, too, needs fuel. It can run dry.

"Your 20s are a Petri dish to make your mistakes" - Cole Sprouse (Diary of a CEO) and associated thoughts
Your 20s are meant to be a Petri dish for your mistakes to learn from in later life. So make them and you'll never truly regret a mistake you made, because without the mistakes you wouldn't be who you are are what you have experienced. Don't take a second to think about the you that didn't make those mistakes, because that person isn't the you that has come to pass.
Who you are, right here, right now, whatever you're going through, is categorically the best and worst of you that will ever be right now. So take hold of it, fuck it up, enrich it, do anything that is truly you doing something, and every time you do that, you gain an extra piece of yourself that can never be taken away.
Life is for living, not for thinking away.

I needed this today. A reminder of what I’m actually striving for, not the simplistic game capitalism has us all pitching to each other about. I hope this picks y’all up too.

My friends who have never experienced flooding, and who are about to deal with it from this storm, please remember:
1. NO. YOU CANNOT MAKE IT THROUGH THAT WATER ON THE ROAD. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE DRIVING. TURN. AROUND.
2. DO NOT GO WADING THROUGH THE WATER. EVEN IF YOU JUST WANT TO SEE HOW DEEP IT IS. THAT. WATER. IS. CONTAMINATED.
3. IT IS CALLED FLASH FLOODING FOR A REASON. THE WATER RISES AND SURGES IN A FLASH. STAY. HOME.
4. If you're at risk of flooding, raise up any of your belongings now. Put the legs of tall things in buckets. Know where your important documents are.
5. Stay safe.

A beautiful picture is an authentic picture. In today's world we have learned to value passing "beauty standards" and aesthetics of pictures over authenticity.
A picture that is simingly imperfect is alive. It is not still, not posed, not photoshopped and not predictable. It doesn't make every other picture so similar you can barely tell what year it was taken. It speaks memories into your mind.
Now, everyone is striving for a certain perfect aesthetic and I am no exception, neither do I say it is bad. But, then those aesthetic pictures, however pleasing, do lose a bit of their charm. They don't show personalities, situations and real life "fails". They don't tell stories, and I'm sure if you search on Google you will find thousands of eerily similar pictures, which also makes them not quite so unique.
A "failed" picture is one of a kind. A "failed" picture is a story, a feeling and part of a life/lives of the people involved. Not just a pretty decorative ornament. It can carry childhood memories of how it was when you took it and you can actually tell what year it was taken.
Aesthetic pictures are really pretty too. Keep taking them, especially if they make you happy, but, don't discard the "failed" or imperfect pictures. They are part of your story.
Don't be afraid of who you are. You don't have to always be perfect, no one is in real life. So, you don't have to have perfect pictures either. You only have to have authentic ones, ones that make you actually feel something instead of browsing boredly through thousand takes.
And hey, if they do end up pretty aesthetic and up to "photo beauty standards" than that's a plus. But is not the be all end all.
Every time I see that G--gle phone photoshop commercial my heart is filled with infinite sadness, like, yeah it's cool you can have a good family photo, it's cool you can do that, but god, there is something to be said for the honesty of a family photo where you're blinking, or crying, or have ugly wrinkles.
What is too unsightly for you? Would you swipe-click-replace out the image of my cousin crying on our Florida trip family reunion photo? Would you remove the plastic snake I have clenched in my grip, which I still have to this day? Would you scoff at the wrinkles around our eyes and the strands of hair on our faces as we squint into the wind, the day before the massive storm? Would I remember it if I didn't have these reminders, if the picture was perfect and clean, all children in a row with perfect gleaming white tombstone tooth smiles? No tears. No plastic snake.
Everyone is beautiful and no one looks genuine.

btw the majority of your life will be lived as a adult. yeah i don't make the rules. go have fun in your 40s or 70s or whatever. no one expects you to accomplish everything at 17 or 27. you've got time and in the meantime get some life experience, it will pay off
