The immortals decided to split them into two, condemning them to search eternity for the one who completes them. Their twin flame. Some wait too long, only to realise their person was already burnt out. Others were content in their solitude, never longing, never wishing for anything more. Some filled their missing piece with something else, and others relished in their otherworldly, incomprehensible ache. 

I’m just glad I found mine in this lifetime.
