Ramayana No. 15: The Timeless Virtues of Rama: Lessons for the Modern Age
Inspired by Chapter 1.1 of the DeBroy Translation of the Ramayana In the ancient texts of the Ramayana, the sage Valmiki asks the wise Narada to describe a man who embodies the highest virtues. Narada’s response is a detailed description of Lord Rama, a king known for his valor, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to truth and righteousness. Though these stories are thousands of years old, the…

Core values of Leadership
Photo by Glenn Carstens-Peters What are leadership values? Core values of leadership are the main principles that will direct a team leader’s decision-making and ultimately provide the team’s direction. An effective CEO or leader will set out the values to shape the company culture and future initiatives. Once these have been defined and implemented, they will ensure future paths for the team…

Stop giving away your power by letting what others think of you, define you. People’s perceptions of you hold no value unless you allow it. If you don’t agree with how others see you, create you own narrative and start defining yourself.
Shift your mindset from needing validation, to knowing who you are. Don’t walk into the room thinking “I wonder what they think of me.” Walk into the room thinking “I don’t mind what they think of me. I know who I am. I am the best.”
And sure, this mindset may seem like arrogance but it is far better than craving approval or trying to explain yourself to others.
You can either give your power away by depending on the approval of others or you can free yourself, become the main character and perceive yourself the way you desire.

I rewatched Transformers One now that it's available on home media (and you should too! Please! The movie didn't do so well in theaters and it deserves a sequel) and I realize that the plot is very SW/Jedi/the dark side is bad
Like just from the contrast of our main characters
Orion/Optimus is very Jedi-like in his compassion, emotional self-control, selflessness and focus on what's best for everyone
Compare D-16/Megatron, who over the course of the plot becomes emotional, volatile, quick to anger, uncontrolled, bloodthirsty and above all selfish, prioritizing HIS need for revenge over exposing the truth and helping everyone, culminating in him accidentally and then intentionally murdering a friend, and most importantly it doesn't stop there, once Megatron has his revenge it's not enough, he needs to burn everything down and take control himself
Not to mention how the High Guard/Proto-Decepticons follow that same "the strongest rules, and who is the strongest is determined by combat" that the sith live by

The real message of Lucy vs Buddy is that worshipping a divinity is about following the values that the god puts forth, not about preaching or praying or evangelizing.
When Buddy was offered to die a Helio worshipper or live with a different god, he chose to abandon the faith he claimed such devotion to. When Lucy was offered the same thing, she looked to her values as they related to her religion and decided that she would not add to the coldness of the world. Lucy, even in death, remains a light in the dark, the warm memory in the coldness of the ratgrinders. That’s true devotion. That’s the point of religion.

A brief summary of the work week (non-chronological):
Made my CEO cry
Had my CEO thank me first privately and then in front of the entire company (twice) for the conversation that made her cry
Had our shithead graphic designer tell me that I suck at everything and don’t have the skills I have
Had a mid-year performance review where my opportunities for improvement were “you give your opinion very decidedly…….but you’re brilliant so please speak up more”
Had my COO tell me I’m getting a (frankly) ludicrous pay increase
Had a client’s jaw literally drop over a quick graphic I threw together in about 10 min
Have been working on hiring for a position that’s basically just “the stuff curio doesn’t want to do anymore but no one else in the company is capable of doing at her level”
Was repeatedly shouted out in a company wide meeting for constantly asking for constructive feedback and delivering work that “is really hard to find anything to give feedback on”

The Beauty of leadership in a chaotic world
IT Started AS I was a teen.
I Red DARK romance, the Story with Bad Boys or Mafia Boys. In the next Years i Thought i have kinks.
IT looked Like the dominant Side of men threws me magical to them.
What was wrong with me?
I Had a Lot of Bad experiences because i searched Something in men.
But today IT turned Out....
After i get into the traditional Lifestyle and learn a Lot about, i learned that IT was Not the Dangerous or sexual things WHO gets me. IT wasn't the Kink or the Story what i searched.
And finally i noticed.... IT was the leadership from men that i searched in all this Things. The normal dominant Side, which Protects you and Lead you.
IT isn't presented in Our modern world, that was the reason why i try to found IT in all These crazy Things.
Good male leadership feels good.

every byler creator who has ever felt unappreciated or has never seen their work on a rec list or has stayed awake for hours working on something for it to get no interaction or has had their work passed up in favor of the big fandom favorites or has never been taken a chance on or has ever come last in a poll they didn’t ask to be on or has felt self conscious about posting or about calling themselves a creator if what they’re posting is not a magnum opus or has created something for themselves and still hoped deep down that people would love it: get behind me. i’ll protect u

here's the thing i supported their patreon (at their lowest tier but still) because i genuinely liked them and wanted them to succeed and i felt like i was contributing to that even if it was in a very small way. but i did that voluntarily and because i could afford it and it helped them make content that was free for people who couldn't afford it. forcing people to pay for your previously free content- which is currently just one 30ish minute video a week- feels greedy and dismissive of the goodwill and love they've built up within their fanbase
