As a current college student I refuse to believe Danny as Ghost King doesn’t answer summons. As soon as people start summoning him he starts demanding home cooked meals and fat wads of unmarked cash.

That they started off summoning him with the blood of virgins was a bit distasteful, but once he told them to knock it off (threatened to take whatever harm they do to innocents out on their skin, tenfold) they seemed to get the message and started giving him offering of home decor and kitchen appliances instead.

All things being equal, they don’t even ask for much in return. For most of them, just the confirmation that he exists and is “”watching out“” for them is enough. Although lately he’s started giving his cultists random junk (a nice rock he found, a handful of marbles, a piece of scrap metal from his parents lab) and telling them they’re sacred artifacts of great power, as a joke.

I got asked the other day if my job was a front for money laundering. It was a really fun young couple and it an absolutely blindsided me. So instead of my polite retail laugh they got an insane bray of astonished real laughter which utterly delighted them.

“Have you never heard that before?!”

I wheezed for a minute before gasping, “No! Why would I have???”

“Well because these stores are always so quiet but there’s a million of them!”

My coworker popped his head over the desk and said, “I get asked like once a week about it.”

That sent me laughing even harder until I finally got myself calmed down enough to say, “I hope it feels good that you got to be my first.”

I have found that the biggest deterrent to assholes is asking "why?" Over and over.

"We can't have universal healthcare!"

Why?

"Because I don't wanna pay for a strangers health!"

Why?

"Because if they can't afford their own health care that isn't my problem!"

Why?

And so on and so on. Keep making them dig. Keep making them explain until they can't anymore and are faced with nothing but the ugly mask of bias and prejudice. Only then can they truly see that taking it off is an option. Whether they do or not is up to them. And that choice tells you whether they deserve more of your energy or not.

Duke and Jason have been actively bribing Bruce, at alternating points in time, to keep open their favourite food place. It doesn't do takeout. It has such a low food grade it's comical, and when it's not got a low grade it's shut down for health code violations. Duke once got food poisoning there. Jason once found a stolen wallet in his burger wrapping instead of said burger. It's absolutely a laundering scam.

Bruce is the one who keeps sending health inspectors in the vain hope that will stop his rabid children. It doesn't work. It actually makes it worse. Alfred thinks it's funny. Stephanie hates the place because they drown all portions in too much sauce.

Tim secretly is the one actually keeping it open. He gets his milkshakes there and has since he first stalked batman.
