random jess thoughts (late night thoughts… at 2pm)

+ energy drinks over coffee any day. although sometime after he started making money, his little sister wanted a frappuccino and now he treats himself every once in awhile. he pretends he’s getting it for his girlfriend every time.

+ liz used to call her and her second husband “stevie and lindsay” so hearing silver springs through the wall at night after their divorce traumatized him

+ he purposely drops crowd surfers

+ he grew out his hair again because his publisher/writer friends kept calling him rocky but then they started calling him rambo so…

+ his favorite satc girl is charlotte

+ most of his clothes were hand me downs from an old man neighbor who owned a deli and gave him a sandwich sometimes when liz was missing for a few days. sometimes he got some things from ex boyfriends of liz’s but a lot of the time she’d throw them to the street. hence, why most of his clothes didn’t fit (it wasn’t JUST the style).

+ his slut waist is from odd jobs for neighbors; lifting furniture, picking up groceries, etc. inspired by his uncle luke’s trekkie venture.

+ jess learned to skateboard because liz dated a 19 year old skater with longer hair than her when he was little

+ he started crying during a movie and tried to keep it to himself, luke didn’t say a word

+ his first author moment was a “saved by the bell” au about kelly in a crumbled notebook paper when he was eight

+ he watched MTV one time for sixteen hours straight while he was left unsupervised. he saw stephanie seymour 4 times.

+ jess’s favorite font is birdie

+ he runs cold so he always wears a long sleeve under his tees🥲

+ the first time he got drunk he watched a political message through a storefront tv

+ he’s never been on a roller coaster in his life, that is what life is for

knowledge for me is what love is to the hopeless romantics, as if i am a beggar looking for a haven. as i read through articles after articles, books after books, and essays after essays—I have grown fearful that i can no longer think for myself, that i have no authentic thought, and every idea, every word i utter is an echo of all the books i have read, that my contemplation is not my own but to someone else who belong to a distant past.

well considering that for years i believed something was deeply wrong/broken inside of me and i hated myself for it so much, just to realize as an adult that it was actually X thing, yes, you bet your ass i’m going to be loud about it.

if i want my clothes to be the color of the ace flag or if i want to wear a discreet black ring on my middle finger that no one else around me irl will catch on to, or if i want to casually mention how me forgetting is “just the adhd”, then by god i will. Because the alternative is self-destruction and i cut that bitch out of my life

I am tired. But not the kind where it’s easily fixed by a good night’s sleep. I am tired in a way that my mind no longer knows what “quiet” means. I am tired in a way that my lungs ache for every breath I take. I am tired in a way that even sleep doesn’t bring me any semblance of peace for the chaos still follows me in my dreams.

I am tired. I am drained. I am exhausted. I am a cup with not even a single drop left inside but is still trying to spread its moisture thin just to keep providing for the cups around it.

I am empty. Completely, utterly, devastatingly empty. Yet here I am still forcing to squeeze out a little more life because all I can think of is how everyone else has had it worse than I do.

I find it interesting that the Captain sometimes calls Thomas by his last name, which is something that only happens with him. Is this because the Captain doesn't really respect Thomas? We know the Captain gets annoyed by Thomas' emotional outbursts and dramatic moments, because you can see him rolling his eyes in the background. The Captain has no issue with Kitty, who is also an emotional person but in a different manner than Thomas. Kitty is totally guileless. I wonder if they did this on purpose or if it just happened naturally while they were writing the script.

i actually think about all the time how fit jess was. for a book nerd who spent all his time working, he had a crazy waist. i get they tried to style him in oversized “kiddie” clothes after infamous lake sweater scene to try and make him not look so… stallone. but hey, WE SAW THE TONE! OKAY? WE SAW THE TONE. SAW IT, LOVED IT, WANTED MORE. one of my discussions months ago about how jess got bulkier before ayitl, the common answer you guys had was he channels his life issues into working out. which i can see later on, but when he’s like sixteen and looking like he can pull off a convincing “adrien!” i’m not so convinced. yeah, it was just milo being milo “the fit king” ventimiglia. but i genuinely, genuinely, genuinely, genuinely can’t picture the child in a gym. no matter how hard i try. i’m just going to assume for my own being that he’s naturally born that way (with a slut waist and pretty face). thanks for coming to the ted talk, team. revert back soon.
