My first sonnet ever, and maybe a less miserable poem. I'm miserable in general so my works are miserable in general too. Oopsies.

This isn't about anyone in particular. It's about a reality I don't live in, where I have a loving girlfriend and we spent our summer in a better place. Manifesting that this is going to be my summer '26.

january's poem!! try to write a happy poem challenge failed!! trying to write a piece of original work for each month this year :)

the inspiration for this poem came to me from my family telling me i looked like a doll when i was a little girl. also from listening to pretty isn't pretty by olivia rodrigo an alarming amount of times. she js gets me yk??

also i sent this to my close friends and one of them analysed it for me and it's genuinely one of the most meaningful things anyone has ever done for me

FINALLY, my gorgeous friend @rayhan-is-better helped me to edit this and is why i got a decent amount of sibilance and caesura in here.
