Michel O. Riley comments in Oz and Beyond: The Fantasy World of L. Frank Baum (1997) that the Land of Ev in the Oz books appears to be modeled after California, what with the eucalyptus trees, ocean on one end and desert on the other, and the mountains that the Nomes live under. As a Californian myself, I find that thought interesting.
It’ll sure come in handy when I have the cast in Parallel Worlds Record go to Ev…

The fate of Boothill’s planet is so sad to me. I know a lot of people talk about it like the planet is actually gone and like, exploded and Boothill’s all that’s left but the truth is so much sadder. In Boothill’s 4th character story it says that “He returned to Aeragan-Epharshel multiple times” confirming the planet is at least still around. Then, in his 2nd character story it’s mentioned that while a majority of the people on Boothill’s home planet of Aeragan-Epharshel were killed, it also mentions that there are survivors sheltering in “smaller and smaller reservations”. Additionally, it says that “To this day, that black ore is still used in massive quantities” meaning that Boothill’s planet either is
Still being cored and hallowed out for its resources with nobody left to fight for it
Already hallowed, but so extensively and beyond repair that years have passed and the IPC is still able to craft weapons from it.
Regardless of which result, the IPC didn’t “destroy” the planet in the literal sense, but figurative. Boothill frequently talks about how much he wishes he could go back home and see the beautiful views he once saw, but what’s left is worse than if the planet had actually been destroyed, because then it’s beauty and legacy would have been preserved. Now, the only thing that’s left is a wasteland. Its remaining residents are left to wilt away on what was once a thriving planet. The IPC took what it wanted and destroyed everything in its path.
Additionally, I think this is a really interesting parallel to Topaz and her planet. Topaz’s planet was on the verge of being environmentally destroyed when the IPC saved them, and now she’s one of their most loyal members and her planet works for the IPC. Meanwhile the IPC is the one responsible for destroying Boothill’s planet, one that was thriving and peaceful, and rebelled against handing its resources to the IPC.

Toyota Big Red Ute, 2024. Australian children’s music group The Wiggles have teamed up with Toyota Australia to create a custom stage truck. Styled to resemble a FJ Land Cruiser, the BRU is electrically powered and limited to 12km/h for safe on-stage use. There’s even a song that goes with it though they use a Hilux in the video

It was Christmas Eve at last, and Algy was safe at home again!
He couldn't have been more happy, or more excited, for his assistants had given him a fluffy stocking to hang up, in the hope that Father Christmas might visit while he slept, and his magic pumpkin, which was beginning to look quite shrivelled, had turned into a beautiful pumpkin candle once more.
Algy settled down on the soft needles of a Christmas tree with his stocking hanging by his side, and did his best to go to sleep, but he found it awfully difficult… He was just too excited! So he tried reciting that most famous of all Christmas poems, written 200 years ago. He hoped that if he recited it very carefully and very slowly it might help to make him drowsy, for he knew that Santa Claus never visited folk who were wide awake:
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse: The stockings were hung by the chimney with care In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; And mamma in her kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below, When, what to my wondering eyes did appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer, With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name: “Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!” As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky; So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
[Algy is of course reciting the opening verses of the early 19th century poem A Visit from St. Nicholas, which is more often called The Night Before Christmas. The poem was first published anonymously in 1823 and its author is uncertain.]

I think the extreme focus on male violence over women that feminist spaces have to spread awareness and “wake women up” actually has the opposite effect and makes women more meek and terrified of men (aka more likely to conform to their wishes) then before encountering that material.
On the other hand I can’t say I’d like their crimes covered up so I don’t know what the true solution is. Just a thought.
You're 100% right and this is part of why I stepped away from feminist spaces. It comes a point where it goes from being informative to being terrorising. There's no action or anything, just a bunch of doom posting under the guise of "raising awareness". A whole bunch of masochism considering that most of these women still end up loving & birthing moids anyways. Also, several women love having a victim complex.
It's so bad that women that do want to do shit to move forward will be talked down by other women & feminists. There's a prominent twitter user on radtwt & she was talking about leaving her abusive husband but there were so many women talking about how dangerous it would be as if trying to discourage her. It's one thing to be aware but it's gone beyond that with feminists. Imo this shit stems from womens investment in maIes & wanting to change them (or at least pick out the "better" ones). They claim they're helping women but they're not, they're only concerned about themselves and invested in trying to change moids.
Reminds me of when people say things like "this is why women dont leave" or "this is why women don't say no" as if women who do these things were in the wrong (even though it's not their intention that's how it comes across, it nornalises maIe evil). There's no focus on learning & moving forward. Trying to change moids is what's focused on instead.
The actual solution is a nuke to ×`/s & their accomplices but that's not happening anytime soon so the next best thing is not giving birth. Also, acknowledge what you see then move accordingly and do your own shit. Many women have the tendency to make their problems (that stem from their desire to be with a moid) your problems, avoid that.

killing eve 🤝 yellowjackets 🤝 kevin can fuck himself
stories about women who become aware they are stuck in a Narrative and begin fighting against their constraints that fall short of being good storytelling because the storytellers seem more concerned with depicting the futility and unfairness and cruelty of the narrative than letting these female characters do something revolutionary and break out of their narrative constraints in any meaningful and intentional and non-incidental way
