#im truly in awe of this director#i am not a witch had one of the most satisfying endings and this one had one of the most frustrating and both made perfect tonal sense#also the first sequence in this film is the best thing ive seen in idek how long#i know nyoni has the competence to keep up that eerie unspoken magic realism vibe for 90 minutes bc she already did in her debut#so her going with a more direct approach here is very intentional. u can tell she feels very strongly about these women#generational talent#cant wait to see what she does next#on becoming a guinea fowl#films
