I feel sebastians physical strength grew mostly in the stages where he had to consistantly haul his own bodyweight. when his tail was just forming and his legs were completely dysfunctional ( or completely gone ), and the only method of movement to get from point A to point B was to agonisingly drag himself across concrete.

I don't imagine they fed him properly, they couldn't account to what would be considered 'healthy' for how fast he changed with the mutations. he wouldn't survive out there if he stayed coiled around himself in the corner — so he'd simply have to dig his claws into ground and drag. all of that deadweight behind him.

just had an absolutely devastating exchange between sebastian and painter. I didn't manage to record it, unfortunately. however — long story short. painter asks if he's a bad person for leading so many people to the death. to which, sebastian responds, in the softest voice I've ever heard him use, that he's not. he's simply doing what he had to do.

that he was simply surviving, not letting himself be crushed under the weight of the universe. and, he sells us this specific line. of which, spoken heartwrenchingly.

surviving doesn't make you a bad person.

now, obviously. I could write and create copious amounts of theories and writings about how he's speaking to himself as much as painter, that the reassurance to tell him that makes him a hypocrite for the blood on his own claws. but it's simply such a strong line, because yeah. surviving doesn't make you a bad person. it never will.

They're on top of that mountain by his hometown, at last.

Sort of dedicating this piece to my cat, Khoshekh, who recently passed away on the 30th of June. I know it's not entirely canon-compliant, but I want to make her the cat in the photo on Sebastian's coat to remember her always.

The setting is also inspired by the sunset we saw that evening on Monday. I like to think it was made in her honour.

This update came at a pretty extreme time, just a day after losing her. I was already full of emotions by the time I started playing it. The new content made me feel frustrated, upset, embarrassed (even though we all struggle to learn new things in video games...), but honestly? It just made me feel really happy.

I'm happy knowing that Sebastian and pAInter make it out together. It's not a fanfic, it's not vaguely implied in text; they escape. It's in the radio in Sebastian's shop. It's in their conversations together. It's in the hidden room in the Ridge where pAInter waits by the dock (he didn't move there by himself, Sebastian did that - he helped him, they helped each other). And they're free now.

How does this relate to my cat? I don't know lol.

Pressure is one of the biggest - if not the biggest - special interest I've ever had. Originally getting into it, pAInter was my favourite character. He's annoying, snarky, and a little shit, but he was hurting. A lot. He had depth and motive beyond just killing for the sake of it. I wanted more than anything an ending where he's saved. And now we've finally gotten it. A day after Khoshekh passed away. How silly it is to experience such a tragedy and then be comforted by Roblox npcs.

You can kill pAInter, too. But it's not "canon", at least not to the metanarritive or whatever. It'll never be the real ending. The real ending is one where they're both free, and alive.

And that makes me feel better.
