Leon truly did not care about Krauser at all originally.

I've talked about some of the differences between original and remake Operation Javier before, since then I've thought more about the ending and it's dawned on me just how little Leon cared about Krauser. (This doesn't conflict with anything in my first post, it's just an addition that didn't occur to me until more recently.) Comparing his "relationship" with Krauser to everyone else that meant something to him in DSC, it's clear that Krauser was not someone he was at all emotionally attached to. Krauser was obsessed with Leon from the start, every thought he had during that mission connected to Leon, he thought that they had some sort of weird bond and Leon was attached to him too, when that's very clearly not the case.

Looking at Memories of a Lost City… Leon quickly becomes attached to everyone. Claire's instantly his ride or die partner, he wants to help her find her brother and get out of the city. They encounter Sherry, she runs away from them. Leon is hell bent on finding and rescuing this little girl he doesn't know and saw for like 2 seconds, to the extent he kicks a damn door down when Sherry crawls through an opening too big for him to go through. (Of course Claire was also hell bent on helping Sherry too, this post is just focused on Leon.) Ada is incredibly sketchy and doesn't want Leon's help, but Leon's instantly attached and wants to follow and help her, although he does prioritize Sherry over Ada and chooses to look for Sherry instead of Ada when forced to make a decision.

And of course after making it out of Raccoon City, Leon is willing to stay behind with Sherry so that Claire is free to keep looking for her missing brother… Then ends up agreeing to be a government slave in order to keep Sherry safe. He's willing to sacrifice so much for someone he barely knows.

Moving on to Game of Oblivion, which is the strongest part of my argument and has the most direct comparisons to make to how Operation Javier ends. We learn that Leon's selflessness didn't stop at him becoming a government agent for Sherry, he also used that position to help Claire and Chris. He had never met Chris before, and yet one of his first thoughts was apparently "I now have access to resources that can help me find Chris Redfield, the missing brother of the girl I knew for a day." He is able to find Chris, only to learn he can't tell Claire because now she's missing. Naturally, he just starts trying to locate Claire next. Citing the relevant Game of Oblivion Leon narration (emphasis mine):

Once Chris disappeared from the Mansion incident he was near impossible to track down. But using my newfound position in the government, I eventually discovered his location. I would have contacted his sister, but she was a ghost herself. So I turned my search over to Claire then, and eventually learned of her confinement on Rockfort Island. I shared this information with Chris. And he asked me to arrange a rescue mission before he set off on his own to find her.

The big takeaway here is that when someone Leon cares about, either directly like Claire or even indirectly with Chris, goes missing, he does not rest. He does everything in his power to find them. (Honestly, I think he also would have put extensive effort into finding Ada again if she hadn't faked her death.)

And he did nothing when Krauser disappeared! From the cutscene The Return, the normal good ending OJ cutscene (emphasis mine):

Manuela was later taken into custody by the U.S. government. She was put under strict surveillance... But so far there have been no reports of any changes to her body. Krauser's arm never fully healed and he was forced to leave the army. Where he went, no one knows.

Why did Manuela never lose her conscience? Was it something genetic? Or was she sustained by this land that's so rich with life? The virus continues to grow. Altering its form, strengthening perpetually. until the day it can be destroyed... In our bodies... in our souls.

Krauser went missing after the mission. Just like Chris was missing, and Claire was missing. But unlike with Claire and Chris, Leon just doesn't care. At all. Doesn't care enough to try to find Krauser, despite the fact he'll chase after and track down people he barely knows. Doesn't care enough to even speculate what may have happened to Krauser. He does not care. He's far more concerned about the mysteries of Manuela's infection than he is about Krauser's fate. He knows that Manuela is alive and well, and he's still more concerned and curious about her than he is Krauser, who for all he knows could very well be dead in a ditch somewhere.

If Leon had remotely cared about Krauser, I would have expected his ending narration to have something more like "Krauser's arm never fully healed, and he was forced to leave the army. After that, he mysteriously disappeared without a trace. I used every resource at my disposal to try to find him, but came up empty handed. To this day, no one knows where he went or what happened to him." The fact he didn't say anything like that, just briefly mentioned the fact Krauser disappeared before continuing to talk about Manuela, is very telling. Operation Javier and being partnered with Leon was a pivotal moment in Krauser's life, that mission was life changing for him, he was forever changed by it. But for Leon? Operation Javier was just another mission. It wasn't special. It didn't change the trajectory of his life. Krauser wasn't special, Krauser was just another random stranger he was forced to work with for a day.

I guess I'll close this with a thought I've had regarding original vs remake OJ recently… Despite genuinely preferring the DSC RE2 retelling to RE2R and having fun with OJ, I used to think that the remake Krauser/Leon mentor/rookie-actually a strong bond that wasn't one sided thing was better than the original dynamic. Krauser was creepy and obsessed with Leon, but Leon also admired Krauser and looked up to him as his mentor. But the deeper I get into the original dynamic and analyze it, the more it grows on me… Leon actually being in a position of power over Krauser but mostly treating him like an equal, Krauser clearly thinking he's more experienced than Leon and should be in charge, the fact Krauser rearranged his entire life because of Leon and was obsessed while Leon pretty much just moved on after the mission and forgot about him, there's plenty of compelling stuff there. It's not the long-term, more two-sided mentor and student relationship the remake presents, there's not really room to insert any type of shipping, logistically speaking (at least not anything mutual– Krauser was weirdly obsessed and definitely would have been down for some sex, but 1. Leon would not be interested and 2. The fact they were only around each other for a single mission, and weren't just alone together, they had Manuela with them, they wouldn't have had an opportunity even if Leon was interested.) compared to the longer term relationship the remake presents, but that doesn't mean there's nothing there worth exploring!

transman & mlm he doesn’t listen to music often, but when he does it's metal grew up on the countryside with traditional home values (stay at home mom, "man of the house", etc. etc.) as the youngest sibling to 3 brothers. his parent's marriage wasn't one out of love, but rather convenience & societal expectations/pressure. because of this were constantly fighting & physically abusive towards Jack and his siblings. acted and presented masculine from a young age in order to prove he can be a "real" man. ran away from home to join the military at 18. he's spent most of his life away from civilian life, and because of this, he doesn't know how to function in society outside combat. ( "During his days off, Krauser often participated in mercenary work, as he felt that he could not function within society and believed that his service and the thrill of combat were what gave his life meaning." ) extremely insecure about being transgender & uses his power/rank to "make up" for it. resents his homosexuality as he sees it as the remaining "female side" of him he's unable to get rid of. because of this internalized homo/transphobia, he's extremely violent towards anyone he falls for and takes that involuntary attraction as a direct insult to his masculinity. this also ties into his childhood & how he grew up without an example of what healthy affection looks like. his hyper masculinity and borderline (if not outright) misogyny stems from his own dysphoria and insecurities. wears a packer religiously. fighting tooth and nail to not turn this into a ship brainrot ramble BUT this is why i think Krauser's so overly harsh on Leon while also favoriting him to a degree. ("Either way, this is definitely not a 'training room,' this is something Krauser, presumably, put together specifically to train Leon away from the others. (canon confirmed?) listens to Nickelback, Saving Abel, Nine Inch Nails, Hinder, Breaking Benjamin, Failure, Nirvana, Avenged Sevenfold, Seether, some MCR (denies it), Shinedown & similar bands :-)!! autistic, has sensitive skin & eczema. a chronic gum chewer. it’s a comforting, absent minded movement that keeps him grounded on the job. spearmint hurts his mouth so he prefers bubble gum or less cold mint flavors. (i'm not projecting u r.) named after his father and introduces himself as Leon S. Kennedy to separate himself from him. went by Scott/Scottie in his teenage years. total mama's boy. Leon Senior was a heavy alcoholic and is where he got his drinking problems from, something Leon's incredibly insecure about as he's afraid of turning into his dad. grew up resenting his father and blames him for his mom's death. had a bit of chub before becoming an agent & grew into a dad bod/beer belly as he got older :-)!!! was extremely insecure as a teenager & child, having facial and body dysphoria both of which remained untreated & linger in his adult life somewhat. was a very light blonde when he was younger, but his hair gradually got darker as he grew up until he was a light brown/dirty blonde (cue identity crisis "am i blonde or a brunette???"). eventually, he started bleaching it. lost motivation and stopped dying it as he got older. movie buff (canon) ( "He makes a lot of references to films such as the "go medieval on your ass" line from RE4R, which is a quote from Pulp Fiction or comparing the China mission to Black Hawk Down. He also quotes a whole scene from Casablanca from memory in Vendetta (the "I never make plans that far ahead" part), so he seems to watch quite a variety of films." ) in the nicest most affectionate way possible... he is so annoying about movies actually, will not shut up with his trivia the whole time it plays. hates horror movies but will never admit it. played hockey as a kid. grew up somewhere cold & is adapted to cold temperatures (he can't stand the heat though). had a dog as a kid and used to absolutely love them (specifically bloodhounds) but he developed a phobia of them after Raccoon City (can you blame him?). no matter how badly he wants a normal domestic life (to settle down, start a family, and give his kids the childhood he never had) he’s secretly terrified of the idea. he doesn’t know how to function outside of work, even when on vacation he can’t seem to relax. cisgender & bisexual or mlm the closest we have to a canon music taste 4 him is Barbie Girl by Aqua (hehe), BUT i'd imagine he'd be a fan of musicians like Queen, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Madonna, ABBA, Billy Joel, Dolly Parton and other artists known to be popular in queer communities!! Grew up Catholic & still holds onto some core ideologies, though in a more superstitious way than religious. while he doesn't consider himself Catholic, he still carries around a cross necklace from his childhood & prays occasionally. Valdelobos was (in canon) devoutly Catholic prior to Saddler's reign, so it makes sense for him to hold on to some of that guilt. (him signing the cross in game.) his jacket is custom-tailored. going on a biiiit of a ramble/history lesson here... but if you look up Western saddles you'll find some with floral patterns similar to Luis' jacket. it's a kind of leather carving that was APPARENTLY inspired by medieval Spanish saddles. not really relevant but a fun fact nonetheless! :-) he picked up smoking from his grandfather. extremely picky when it comes to what cigarettes he smokes. he prefers Marlboro Reds (i don't smoke (except for when i'm missing you) so idrk what i'm talking about) very sentimental & holds on to little trinkets & gifts & pictures, etc. (this is somewhat canon confirmed, seen with him holding onto the Umbrella Dream Team photo, along with the lighter.)

transwoman & arospec lesbian likes 80s pop music & typical girly ego boost stuff. stuff like Kate Bush, Lady Gaga & ABBA (she loves Babooshka by Kate Bush & Cheri Cheri Lady by Modern Talking). not sure if she'd actually listen to any of her stuff, but K. Flay's music reminds me of her, specifically The President Has A Sex Tape. mommy issues queen. was in and out of foster care her entire childhood, only to end up back with her mom every time. she's extremely self-sufficient and refuses to rely or depend on anyone due to her childhood history of neglect. essentially raised herself. picked up smoking from her mother and absolutely hates it. she only falls back on nicotine when doing horribly. she carries cigarettes around with her on missions, just in case. has cherry blossom lip gloss and re-applies it religiously. has drop foot (i genuinely can’t think of any other sensible reason she’d always been wearing heels </3). used to like true crime when she was younger. she has issues identifying her feelings and honestly doesn’t care enough to work through them. she isn’t sure if she even likes some people at all. she can’t tell apart affection and finding someone useful. either way, she wants certain people around/safe and she isn’t sure why (Leon for example).

Shy about his singing voice, so it's rare to hear, but i'd imagine it sounds similar to Isaac Slade's (lead singer of The Fray), just a bit deeper/gruffier. extremely good with dogs - actually considered being a dog trainer when he was younger. has a German Shepherd & a Bernese Mountain Dog, both are extremely well trained. canonically hates the rich, and is anti-capitalist lol. it's likely he was discharged from the Air Force for talking back to his superiors. would be an amazing dad but is terrified of the idea of settling down. no matter how badly he wants to have a domestic life he doesn’t know how to adapt to it. has a matching tattoo with Claire!! ^_^

Hey there! Thank you for your request, I had a lot of fun working on this one. :) Hope you enjoy!

General relationship HCs (gn!reader)

Leon S. Kennedy

Leon is unfortunately quite used to losing people close to him, so he’s incredibly hesitant to actually start a relationship with you. He can’t help but be convinced that he’s going to lose you too sooner or later, be it because something happens to you or because you realize that he’s not what you want or need and decide to leave him – hence why he probably tries to push you away at first. 

However, once you manage to get him, Leon is yours forever. He’s a loyal and loving partner and will do everything in his power to make you happy, especially since he’s well aware that being in a relationship with him isn’t always easy. It honestly never ceases to amaze him that you’re willing to put up with all of this – the traumatic stuff he went through in the past, the fact that he’s not allowed to talk about anything regarding his work and that he sometimes has to leave for weeks without being able to tell you where he’s going – and he really appreciates that you’re still by his side.

Especially in the beginning of your relationship, Leon struggled with letting his guard down. Like I said, he has gone through so much and feels like he can’t deal with losing another person he cares about, so he has been really cautious and hesitant at first. But as the time passed and the two of you got closer, Leon found himself realizing that he can’t imagine his life without you in it. The fear of losing you will never leave him completely but he became more confident about your relationship over time and now, you’re one of the few people he trusts completely.

He’s not one to get jealous easily since he trusts you and knows that you would never betray him like that. But he still hates when others are clearly trying to flirt with you, especially if you’re obviously uncomfortable with the whole situation. It makes his blood boil when someone is unable to respect your boundaries, and in moments like that, he definitely won’t hesitate to step in.

Loves to cuddle with you. There’s just something so soothing and calming about your presence and whenever he feels the urge to just shut the entire world out, he just pulls you close and buries his face in the crook of your neck. 

Luis Serra

Better be prepared for lots of teasing and flirting because Luis likes to see you all flustered. Even before you got together, he never missed an opportunity to flirt with you, mainly to catch your interest, but also because he enjoyed figuring out which kind of comments and compliments make you blush. Also, lots of pet names, both before and after you started dating, though they became sweeter and more loving once you got together. 

People who don’t know him might assume that he’s incapable of being in a relationship since they only see his flirtatious and charming nature, but Luis is actually very faithful and would never betray you in any way. He often jokes that he has no reason to flirt with someone else because he’s already got the main prize by his side. He loves and adores you with every fiber of his being, and he’s 100 percent sure that there’s no one out there who could make him feel more loved than you do.

You wouldn’t expect it but Luis actually turns into a blushing and flustered mess whenever you compliment him. Your words are always so genuine that it makes him melt on the spot, although he really tries his best to hide it because he feels like he has a reputation to lose and therefore doesn’t want to embarrass himself, not even in front of you. However, you know him well enough to still see the effect your words have on him. 

So. Many. Kisses. Luis uses every opportunity to press his lips to yours, your forehead or your cheeks. He’s someone who doesn’t mind PDA in general but if you’re uncomfortable with it, he accepts and respects that too because he’d never ignore any boundaries you set.

Luis also loves to surprise you, be it with small gifts like your favorite flowers or date nights. To be honest, he just likes to show you off because to him, you’re absolutely perfect and he wants everyone to see how adorable and beautiful his partner is. 

Jack Krauser

Krauser definitely isn’t someone to fall head over heels in love with someone or to dive head first into a relationship. It’s pretty hard to earn his respect and his trust, and on top of that, a part of him will always see loving someone as some kind of weakness. He’s also so used to being alone that he’s convinced he doesn’t need anyone else. So, you probably need a lot of patience, especially in the beginning of your relationship. 

It’s pretty important that you don’t ask too many questions about his job or his past. Krauser is a man with many secrets, and he most likely won’t ever feel comfortable enough to share any of this with you, so it’s best to just accept that he doesn’t want to talk about it. It’s not that he doesn’t trust you but to him, it’s a fact that it’s best if you don’t know anything about these things – especially since it’s already risky to be in a relationship with him in the first place. (And though he might never admit it, he’d hate himself for letting anything happen to you.)

With that being said, there’s nothing Krauser wouldn’t do to keep you safe and sound. He knows first-hand how shitty the world can be, and should someone dare to lay a hand on you, he won’t hesitate to make them pay for it. Though he often acts like he doesn’t care about anyone else but himself, he fiercely protects those who are important to him, no ifs, no buts – and if it means that he has to put his own life at risk in the process, then so be it. I think he’d also offer to teach you some basic self-defense, just in case that you ever find yourself in a situation where these skills might come in handy. 

He never lets his guard down completely, not even around you, and he’s not easy to love. However, that doesn’t mean he’s a bad partner or that he doesn’t care about you. Since he’s not overly affectionate (as in, he rarely initiates kisses or cuddles himself), he finds other ways to show how important you are to him, for example by making sure that you drink enough water or take your meds etc. He pays close attention to everything you do and therefore notices even the slightest changes in your behavior, so he immediately knows when something’s bothering you. And though Krauser is not be the best at comforting people, he still tries to cheer you up because he doesn’t like to see you all sad and gloomy.

JACK KRAUSER (trans man)

his hypermasculinity and borderline, if not outright, misogyny and homophobia (calling leon "pretty boy," etc.) stems from his own dysphoria and feelings of inadequacy. from a young age, he presented and acted as masculine as he possibly could, in order to prove to everyone that he could be a "real" man. by re4, he's probably gotten the government to edit his paperwork so that in all but the most classified files, he's a cis man. i like to think he might not have even had to get top surgery, as he had naturally small breasts, and then worked out to the point where they look like natural pectorals. he wears a packer religiously, at basically all hours of the day--he knows the military would never allow him to take time off for bottom surgery.

ALBERT WESKER (trans man)

from a young age, albert was encouraged to be something more, be something better than regular humans. therefore, it was an easy step for him to begin transitioning. he was intelligent enough to source what he needed himself, dose himself with testosterone and hormone blockers properly, and eventually get himself top surgery. he views his transition, and transitioning in general, as another, smaller way to improve yourself past what the majority of humans can be.

ALEX WESKER (trans woman)

capcom all but wrote themselves into a corner with this one, canonically. i'll link to the actual post if i can find it again, but basically, the virus alex was injected with seems not to work on afabs. but, it works on her. need i say more? as for the finer details of her transition, see above. i'm sure alex and albert helped each other with their respective transitions.

ADA WONG (trans woman)

ada is a proud and confident trans woman. she revels in her sexuality and (obviously, canonically) she uses her looks and her body as a weapon. especially if wesker is trans, i could see him wanting to seek out other trans people to work with, as he trusts them marginally more than he would cis people.

ETHAN WINTERS (trans man)

i've thought about this one so much. he met mia in texas, so it seems likely he grew up in or around that area. as such, it makes sense for a trans man to want to leave the southern united states as soon as possible. plus, california is one of the first states to adopt transgender protection laws! not to mention, careers in i.t., computer sciences, and similar professions have statistically higher percentages of trans people in them, due to the career path being somewhat less gender-stereotyped. rose has blonde hair and blue eyes, and imo looks super similar to ethan and nothing like mia, so i like to think mia used one of ethan's eggs to become pregnant with rose. this would line up perfectly with the idea that she basically wanted to experiment with ethan's mold dna.

other, miscellaneous ideas: unfortunately, as much as i fucking love trans leon, due to the time period of resident evil 2 it would be pretty implausible for him to be an out trans man and work in law enforcement or any other government agency. however, that's not to say that he doesn't occasionally like more cutesy or traditionally feminine things, like the color pink, or cute stuffed animals, or hair clips, etc. i needed to mention him because it seems wrong to not mention my boy leon in a resident evil post.

Both of you were in the lab late at night, waiting for some results. Wesker was sitting in front of a microscope, analizing a sample, and you were right next to him, completing a report. Only the sound of your keyboard could be heard in the room, as you typed rigorously.

"Hey Wesker," you said, yawning. "How much 'till the results come up?"

"They should be ready any minute now. If you want, go rest. I'll finish around."

"No, it's fine. I want to keep you company."

Maybe you were tired and were hallucinating, but you swear you saw Wesker smile. It wasn't a big one, just a satisfying smirk that appeared on his face.

Wesker paid no mind to you and kept observing the molecules. He liked when you were seeking his attention, and he often would play clueless to your hints just to toy with you. He had a satisdic pleasure to see you sweat over your own emotions and insecurities, especially when they were a direct result of your interactions.

While being consumed by his own ego,

While observing the chain reactions, he felt something heavy leaning on his shoulder.

He peeked over his shoulder and saw your head, which was laying heavy. You were long gone in the dreamland.

"Y/N," he said, but there was no reaction. He noticed that you were in a deep slumber and didn't have the heart to wake you up.

"I told them to go to sleep," he murmured. "They always end up like this."

He slowly moved his arms under your shoulders and knees and lifted you up, heading to the nearest bedroom. That was one of the advantages of working in a mansion.

He slowly placed you on the soft mattress, caressed your head a few times, removing some strands of hair from your face, and left, closing the door slowly behind him. He also left some coffee and a note saying that he would handle the rest of the procedure and to continue your day as usual.

Despite his cold attitude towards you, he cares for you, and he misses you when you're not around. He will never admit that, tho, not to you or even to himself.

Staying up late to complete reports isn't a fun activity unless you do it with somebody you like.

Leon's fingers typed rigorously on the keyboard while you were next to him, helping with the details.

"The fight with the knights was before or after I reunited with Ashley?"

"After... and then you got in the castle to find Luis..."

"Right"

He felt the fatigue and boredom taking over his body, his eyelids closing, but he trespassed to give his body a quick boost so he could take another sip of coffee.

He peeked at you and noticed that you weren't rested either. I mean, you were in the same village, doing the same thing: rescuing the president's daughter, and it wasn't like somebody pated your shoulders and told you to go rest because you deserved it. No, you took a quick nap at home, and then you had to finish the rest of your assignments just like a regular day.

Leon continued writing because he knew that the sooner he'd finish, the faster you could go to sleep.

Suddenly, he felt something heavy leaning over his shoulder. When he turned around, he saw your head resting on him. He looked at you with half-lidded eyes and thought, "this must be nice," and smiled.

He gently caressed your head a few times and then went back to his writing.

A few minutes passed, and you jumped, sending a powerful shock to your numbed body. You immediately regained consciousness and looked around, seeing Leon in the same spot but with a smirk over his face.

"Slept well?"

"Yeah, your shoulder is very comfy," you said, rubbing your eyes.

"At least this is what I can do: provide a comfy shoulder," he chuckled.

You wrapped your arms around his and leaned again over him, this time without falling asleep. He smelt so nice and was so clean.

"Ashley wasn't rescued again until after you killed Ramon," you said as your eyes quickly scanned the report.

"Thanks." He smiled and kissed your head. You stayed glued to him like that until you both fell asleep.

You were having a well-deserved rest in the comfort of your home after long, long months of working. Luis put a film on the TV, bought some snacks, and poured two glasses of wine.

"There you go, love," he said as he handed you your glass and sat next to you.

"Thank you," you said, giving him a warm smile. "It's nice being you with you like this, you know, not being surrounded by dead bodies and viruses." 

"Tell me about it! I can't remember the last time I had a normal night. It's been so long!" 

You were both sleep-deprived and burned out, and you barely kept your eyes open. The ideal date was falling asleep in his arms, but he wanted to do something a little nicer.

The movie just started, and you sat very comfortably in Luis's embrace. His arm was wrapped around your body, and you were leaning on him.

"Great choice, y/n." he said as he kissed your forehead gently. He pressed a long, lingering kiss before moving his eyes to the screen. He loved feeling your presence and the warmth of your body. It eased his soul.

Suddenly, he felt something heavy leaning on his chest. He quickly lowered his gaze and saw that you had fallen asleep.

"My love," he chuckled, pressing another kiss on your head.

He took another sip of wine and stared blankly at the TV. A powerful feeling of sadness overwhelmed him all of a sudden. Maybe he was just tired; maybe all of the feelings he swept tunder the rug were coming out, who knows, but he was sure of one thing: he didn't want to lose you. Luis took a deep breath and tightened his embrace. You were there, and that was what mattered to him.

His vision started to blur, the actor's lines were nonsense, and they talked gibberish. His whole body felt heavy, and in a few moments, he joined you in the dreamland, trying to find you in your dreams.

After a long day of training, you two decided to eat in the cafeteria and talk about the day.

You were sitting next to him on the comfortable sofa, eating leftover cake.

"This is still good," you said, taking another bite.

"I don't know how you can eat that. I've been sitting here all day," he said, making a grimace while looking at the cake.

"Stop being a hater for once and enjoy the simplest things in life. You might die tomorrow."

"That might kill you today."

You scoffed and shoved the rest of the cake into your mouth ostentatiously. He rolled his eyes.

"You can be so stubborn sometimes."

"I know, but luckily for me, you have patience."

You nugged his shoulder, and you caught him smirking.

You began talking about the day, the government, and even random stuff like trends and articles. Krauser was very different when he wasn't on the job. He talked more freely, he swore often, and he even laughed more, but when he did, it was full of satisfaction and life. He meant it.

He kept talking about how the government is corrupted, and you often agreed with him.

"I admire you, tho." He began. "You don't take anyone's bullshit. You fight back."

Silence.

"I know maybe I dumped a lot of things on you right now, but to be honest, I don't trust many people. I also..." he sighed, "...enjoy your presence."

The prolonged silence made him paranoid. Suddenly, he felt something heavy leaning on his shoulder, and when he peeked, he noticed you fell asleep.

"Do I bore you too?" he whispered. "Heh, I guess all superiors have this effect." He smirked and closed his eyes.

He cared about you more than he'd like to admit. He sees the potential in you, and he hopes that some day you will be able to make a change, as he feels it's too late for him due to his age. Because of that, he is harsher with you during training and missions.

He followed you shortly, snoring as he fell deep into the slumber.

He wanted to take you out to dinner, so he chose his favourite bar, where they serve the best steak. The football game was playing in the background, and the people were cheering and clinking their beers. A lot of noise was around you, but regardless, Chris was giving you all of his attention.

You stayed next to him as you two ate. You felt so safe with him, so peaceful. Chris tried not to give too many details about his missions, so he would gossip about what was going on with his team, who fought with whom, and what his superiors told him—the bare minimum.

"Are you sure there's nothing more you want to tell me?" you asked, interrupting him mid-sentence. Even if the tea was juicier than the steak (lots of betrayals, make-up, fights), you felt like he was hiding something.

"Hmmm... yeah, I'm pretty sure. Don't stress too much about it; I'm fine." He kissed your cheek and returned to his plate.

The national team scored a goal. The crowd was cheering and yelling, enhancing the bustle and excitement that was already in the bar.

You didn't notice the noise anymore; you got used to it. Chris' presence was making you drowsier than usual, probably because you also have your stomach full now.

"I didn't expect so many people today; otherwise, I would've cooked at home," he said in a slightly annoyed tone as he was looking around the room. "But the important thing for me is that you fee-" he said in a more cheerful tone, but was cut off mid-sentence again when he felt something heavy leaning over his shoulder. He peeked and smiled when he saw that you fell asleep.

"Look at that; I didn't know it was possible," he chuckled.

Chris remained still, as he didn't want to wake you up.

Everything he does, it's just for you. He goes on those missions just to make sure that the world is one step closer to being safe. He doesn't recognise the line between his own fantasies and reality, but every time he steps out of that door, he goes with a full heart because he knows that every time he comes back, you'll wait for him with a warm meal and a warm smile.

✞ Acts of Service: He isn’t good with words, and tends to be secretive, so he wants to make his s/o’s life easier by helping them. He was in the military, so following orders seems to be a given at something he tends to be good at by default. Chores, errands, etc, he’ll do them.

✞ Quality Time: Jack has lost a lot of people, and he thinks he’s gonna eventually lose his lover. Probably has a lot of survivors guilt, and why would his partner wanna deal with that? Of course they’re gonna get tired of it and leave. He wants to make memories, even if they do end up painful somehow.

✞ Physical Touch: Lucas would be all over you. I feel like he’s touch starved from getting deemed a freak all his life, so the moment you give even a small brush of the shoulder he’s going crazy. He craves it, and wants you near him all the time.

✞ Gift Giving: He would make you little trinkets I feel. Lucas seems like the type to make you things rather then buy them, especially since his s/o actually likes him and gave him the time of day. They’d start out a little messy, but then you can see all the improvement of skill through the relationship.

Pearl milk tea - never gets any modifications because she likes to enjoy drinks as they are intended.

Not into fancy flavours, she tried the pearl milk tea once, likes it, and doesn't feel the need to change.

Even if the bobarista messes up her order, she would just take it and drink it without making a fuss

She never finishes a large drink, but still gets it anyway.

JACK KRAUSER

Orders coffee at the bubble tea shop 💀💀 and usually black too.

You didn't even know they do coffees here.

The flavours, toppings are too complicated for him.

But I see him branching out to lemon green tea (I headcanon him for liking lemon) with a few dashes of honey

CLAIRE REDFIELD

Doesn't have a regular drink she goes for - always experimenting with flavours, even sugar/ice levels!

She would always gets toppings though - lychee and mango popping pearls are her favourites!

I can imagine her going to Chris in her youngers years and ask:

"Can you get me bubble tea?" She would ask Chris as he's putting his shoes on, ready to leave.

"Get it yourself, you lazy bum." He would say. But when Chris returns, he would kick down her door, wordlessly placing the drink on her table, giving her the middle finger, before leaving.

exactly one person asked for a men's list when it came to my cooking headcanons list for the ladies so here ya go!

Chris Redfield- Actually a decent home cook because he was old enough to want to give Claire some of their mom's cooking when he could. Unfortunately, any time he tries a new recipe for the first time he burns it. The second or third time things come out fine, but the first time he does something new he's opening windows to let out the pan smoke or returning to coals in the oven.

Barry Burton- His wife does all the cooking as he's hopeless in the kitchen, but since they got married she's never had to wash a single dish. He always made sure there's a working dishwasher in their house for when he's away too long to do his usual chore.

Albert Wesker- Can make the fanciest looking food in the world. We're talking Michelin star $100 a plate in appearance only. His dishes have zero flavor. They taste. No one understands how this happens.

Leon Kennedy- Breakfast King. I know the line in damnation is too overused, but breakfast is actually the easiest way to start learning how to cook. Box mix pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs, all require him to put something in a pan on low to medium heat with some oil and poke it around until it's done. There's little effort exerted in monitoring since that's half his real job anyway. Of course it translates to cooking. He's perfected the timing. Everything else is take-out though.

Carlos Oliveira- He had no idea how to cook until he got out of Raccoon City and went home to his family. He tried learning from his mama, but she'd always take the knife or pan from him, so he learned from a sibling and is pretty good at it. He makes a lot of marinades, so the blender is his friend.

Luis Serra Navarro- Absolutely under no circumstances does this man belong in a kitchen. He will concoct the most wretched smelling health food that's full of vitamins, minerals, and "a healthy dash of vinegar for flavor". He's wonderful to have at the dinner table, but never at the stove. Makes a real tasty cup of coffee though.

Jack Krauser- For some ungodly reason, this man can take someone's most hated foods and make them taste good. No idea what the hell he does to it as he will kick everyone out of the kitchen until he's done, but he's just like that. Barely cooks not because he hates it, but because he has to be in the mood.

Piers Nivans- He's the king of the grill. Will lecture anyone in earshot about the important difference between gas, charcoal, or wood when it comes to maintaining the flavor of the meat. He also believes salt and pepper are all you need for a great burger which must be cooked to medium at the hottest lest it lose it's tenderness.

Jake Muller- Salads, smoothies, and overnight oats, he's the one making meals that are able to be eaten fast or on the go. Fruit counts as a dessert to him. He does enjoy experimenting by eating the "weird" or most unfriendly tourist foods while he travels so he has something to brag about, even though he could never figure out how to cook any of it himself.

Ethan Winters- He tries his best. He'll help Mia in the kitchen with food prep or clean up. He makes good dips for chips, has a delicious cookie recipe, and researched how to make baby food for when Rosemary stopped being breastfed. This somehow translated into him figuring out how to make very good custards and parfaits. Although, he got super frustrated trying to figure out how to make bread and has given up the fight.

i will happily do this again for any characters not on either of my lists since i love cooking and baking, and this is fun to think about
