Hello! What is your analysis of the last manga chapter? and what do you think happened 17 years ago in the Haneda Kohji case?
File 1103-1104 Review
This case has proven to be the most exciting and extremely anticipated case that I have especially been waiting for. Kohji case was always the backbone of what made Rum arc so thrilling to read.
This chess tournament case opened up with Wakita finding out about Conan and Wakasa being together in a chess tournament and recalling standing in front of Kohji's corpse with a grin (File 1103).
Two major details immediately stook out to me in this scene when I saw it. The first was that Kohji's right palm was shown to not be carrying his shogi piece charm (as indicated through the imprint), which we learned is currently in Wakasa's possession (File 1008/1052).
The evidence of the crime scenes implicated that Amanda was killed successfully according to BO's M.O, where they left the crime scene as if nothing had happened, while Kohji's was a failure, due to potentially being an accidental witness that had to be taken care of in a rush (File 948).
This flashback scene is therefore indicating that Rum was the first person to see Kohji's corpse not holding the piece after killing him, meaning that he just took it (and it was latter passed on to Wakasa), or that Wakasa was with Rum after he killed Kohji and took it just before this flashback scene takes place. This is further highlighting my theory that Rum views Wakasa as an ally rather than an enemy (for him to have let Wakasa get ahold of the piece). This is consistent with him admiring her stunt in File 980 and not acting against her after seemingly having met her 17 years ago when she was together with his enemy, Akai Tsutomu (File 1099).
The second major detail is that Rum hardly changed appearance-wise after 17 years. This is further supporting my theory that Rum's old man face is a disguise altogether, which makes sense with how he was willing to expose himself to a potential spy (Rye) 2 years ago when he was testing his loyalty (despite being someone who is extremely careful with revealing his identity to the point of disguising his voice during calls and spreading inconsistent rumors of his appearance).
This was then followed by us getting the reveal that Kuroda was present the day of Kohji's and Amanda's murder 17 years ago, where he met Wakasa (who was following Amanda) (File 1103).
This memory recall scene is heavily implicating that Wakasa is the person that was seen following Amanda and being called "Asaka" by her. This could essentially be considered confirmation to that Amanda's bodyguard "Asaka" was indeed Wakasa. However, there is a very significant inconsistency that Gosho introduced with this reveal. Wakasa's overall appearance doesn't match with the photo of the person who was said to be "Asaka". This is not the first time Gosho has shown this inconsistency with Wakasa's past appearance, as he has shown what she looked like 17 years ago when she interacted with Tsutomu after the Kohji case (File 1099) which also didn't match with the photo.
The "Asaka" on the photo does not have the same hairstyle as Wakasa, nor does she wear the same suit. This opens up the possibility that while Wakasa could be the person Amanda was seen calling "Asaka" there was someone else that day who was captured in the photo and who resembled Wakasa slightly and was mistaken as her. This person could also have been the one that was seen carrying the hand-mirror that ended up with Kohji according to Hotta's investigation (File 953), especially if Hotta relied on that photo to get the testimony on "Asaka".
If that is the case, then that would mean there are two "Asaka", one that is the real one (Wakasa) and one that is a mistaken one (the person in the Asaka photo).
It's however also possible that in the upcoming flashback case, we will see Wakasa change her appearance and look like the person in the "Asaka" photo. Therefore, I'm withholding my conclusions on my current theory regarding the Asaka mystery.
Afterwards, we learn through the magazine cover of File 1104 that Rum had the same cat-like eye 17 years ago during the Kohji case. This basically indicated that the eye that was revealed in File 1100 was actually his real eye that he lost (likely after the Kohji case by Tsutomu's hands), rather than his prosthetic eye, meaning that Rum was born with Iris Coloboma (cat eye syndrome).
We then learn through Kuroda's memories that was triggered (File 1104) that he had entered Amanda's room and found her corpse sitting next to a chessboard that had a knight piece with a wristwatch around it.
The page essentially reveals that Amanda left a dying message to implicate her killer to be someone with a left eye resembling a cat eye, in a rush as she was suffering. This was done using her right index to smear the lipstick from her lips on the left eye of a white knight piece, while also putting her lips on the frame of her wristwatch to leave a mark resembling the pupil of a cat eye. This dying message trick was foreshadowed in the dressing room case (File 969-971), where the victim smeared lipstick on her nails for a dying message.
This page also confirmed that the current Kuroda we know was indeed physically there during the Kohji case 17 years ago, unlike Akai Tsutomu (who got involved after Kohji's death). This officially debunks the popular theory that Kuroda is Tsutomu. This was a pleasant surprise, since the conclusion of Kuroda being Tsutomu wasn't an interesting twist in my opinion. This case is however marking the beginning of Kuroda's true character introduction/development, since we have been teased through his constant recalls that Kuroda's flashback of the Kohji case is gonna get revealed in File 1106-1109 (the confirmed case chapters after this chess case). I can't wait to start properly enjoying his story journey and love him more as a character.
The last important detail that needs to be addressed is the official confirmation of the relevance of a knight piece, which I have been speculating for a long time to be the second object in Wakasa's pocket (File 989).
However, the intriguing aspect to this is the fact that it was revealed to be a part of Amanda's dying message, rather than a suspiciously important piece in Kohji's room. This is a very interesting narrative direction by Gosho, as it basically gives a default explanation to why Wakasa would be carrying a knight piece in her pocket (once it gets revealed) that doesn't make the potential existence of a continued-Kohji-dying-message obvious, just like with the shogi piece that was suspiciously clenched in Kohji's palm that was explained off as simply being a good luck charm he foolishly clinged to. I think however that this is Gosho's attempt to mislead the reader from suspecting that Kohji used his shogi bishop piece, with the help of shogi-shaping the letter "U" in the hand-mirror (Which Gosho added as an easter egg in File 996) to hint to its abbreviation "UMA", and a chess knight piece (its starting position "G") to expose his killer's (Rum's) true identity of being "CARASUMA MUGA" (who has been disguising as an old man for 17 years to hide his true identity).
As for the current murder case in the chess tournament, I think the culprit is Oogawara. He lost for the first time on purpose against Kurumi to end the match faster in order to get an opportunity to kill Kishitani. He probably already shot an arrow in the wall beforehand and made the "thwack" sound to create an alibi for himself for the attempt at Kisaki's life and sneakily slashed Kisaki's jacket horizontally later. He then killed Kishitani with the crossbow, left the restroom and put the cleaning sign in front of it so no one discovers the corpse immediately. Afterwards, he used a glass that was specially prepared so he can break it with his grip strength. He then probably stabbed an arrow against his bag and broke the glass with his hand to get everyone's attention before the bag with the arrow fell to the ground to create the illusion of an arrow getting shot. The shards that was found crushed inside a glasses case might have been a part of the glass break trick or the object used to cut Kisaki's jacket.
The dying message Kishitani left probably exposes Oogawara as the culprit, and it is also a huge easter egg/foreshadowing to my ongoing theory that the Knight piece starting position G1 is a part of Kohji's dying message, just like Kogoro's race reference during Rum's intro case (File 975).

nope! it was always related to chess, and that was one of the suspicious points too, like... haneda kouji was a genius shogi player, but he travelled all the way to america to supposedly participate in a chess tournament, as a hobby? and amanda hughes, this 80-year-old rich american lady who apparently had sway in both CIA and FBI, just so happened to be a "big fan" of this japanese shogi player and arranged for them to have a tête-à-tête at his hotel? and now we see that there was an empty chess board at the scene of her death with a single white knight on the board? so strange so suspicious
so from the leaks of file 1104, it seems that current kuroda remembers things from 17 years ago from his own perspective, implying that he is in fact the same person…
kuroda = tsutomu theory officially no more?
#detective conan spoilers#i have a lot of Thoughts about that case but no clear theories because there's so much gap in the information we have i feel like#i hope we find out during this current case what really happened 17 years ago i'm excited#haneda kouji#plot theories#tempted to make a giant post listing every single microscopic evidence we have about this case

Detective Conan Chapter #1120
This case have almost everything I look for in a detective conan case and honestly its living up to everything i look forward in the detective conan case. Like everything I hoped that this case would be in last chapter it is that its everything I hoped for. Like dawg this man Hakuba is just pure power like we need to stop this guy like cornering him would be a tall task. Like this is most fun case we have in a minute arguably most interesting case since Haneda Kouji case.
I think Sonoko is like compiled as usual trying to create difficulty scenario for Shinichi and one might argue that Sonoko is just annoying but I personally feel there is meaning in it that I thing is often lost I think Sonoko is looking for the best for her friend because she is Ran first friend she doesn't want her friend to just be sad and waiting. Ran confronted Shinichi (Kaito Kid) asked him why didn't he call her and through conan instruction in microphone kid say that it get really hard if he focus on her he like her so much that he would not be able to be focus on his case he is working on if he see her face he doesn't want to go and god damn I love every fucking bit of it I live for moment like this.
Now let's talk about the hype shit Shinichi (Kaito Kid) explain how Kaito Kid enter and conan is pissed that he isn't doing anything he just telling what he did and is looking like a genius. Now let's talk about this monster Hakuba he is everywhere making observation that Shinichi and Conan are talking. Like I would like to remind you all Hakuba is aware that Conan is a high level deductionist so he is intentionally keeping him away from Kid. I think he might even make observation that Conan might be one who is brain behind Shinichi and he lowkey might leave with something like he might just get to know Shinichi is conan or this little kid is special and btw he have already predicted possibility that he isn't even Shinichi Kudo which is just wow. Like I am getting everything I was hopping for I am getting Kaito Kid identity being exposed we are getting Shinichi trying to keep up with Hakuba and his deduction absolute fun.

Detective Conan spoiler - The son of a rich and noble family...
Just finished to read file 1042 and Conan’s thought in the last page made me think to which rich family (among the ones we already know) Kouji Haneda could be part of.
The rich families that come to my mind at the moment are: - Kudo’s - Suzuki’s - Ooka’s - Karasuma’sI think that Kudo and Suzuki’s families can’t be the ones for obvious reasons. If Kouji was part of Ooka’s family, that means we will see Momiji since the end of the story (and I hope this will not happen because I can’t stand her and her creepy puppy-buttler). If he was part of Karasuma’s family... I wonder in which way he could be related to the Boss family.
Do you have any other ideas? I’m curious to know your opinion about this!

Haneda Kouji Case Uploader
Full video - https://youtu.be/k-GYeNKRPP4
When mentioning the Kouji case uploader Kudou says “ It’s almost as if that person is saying please help me solve this mystery”. This observation can serve as a hint when trying to identify who the case uploader is. It seems that their main objective is geared towards unraveling the mysteries regarding the Haneda case. Why else would they upload such sensitive information about the case? It also seems that the case uploader as Agasa mentioned knows “minute details' ' meaning that they are very knowledgeable about the case. I believe the best way to narrow down the identity of the uploader is to determine who’s actions align with this person's goal, which as Kudou mentioned is solving the Haneda case.
Looking at the three suspects, We know that Wakita is RUM. Kudou mentioned that whenever the information about the case is taken down the uploader re-uploads the information. The only reason for someone to take down this information would be because it may become damaging to them. Given the organization’s reaction to the song called Asaka, the soul detective, and the fact that RUM screwed up 17 years ago, it doesn’t make sense for the BO to be the ones uploading this information, given that RUM himself was involved in the case.
Kuroda is an NPA higher up. We know that the PSB are familiar with the case, so the NPA must be as well. He even connects Rumi to the case and as some have mentioned he even provides us with an image of Haneda Kouji at the crime scene. It’s possible that Kuroda is the uploader, but the uploader seems to be crying out for help, and as an NPA official Kuroda would have a lot of resources at his disposal and wouldn’t have the need to cry out for help over the internet. Kuroda’s main objective seems to be the organization, rather than the Haneda case. The only reason he thought of the case was because of Rumi. Which leads me to my next suspect.
Rumi seems to have known Haneda, to the point of even calling him foolish. She seems to be the only one out of the three suspects that has had some sort of direct relationship with the victim. She even possesses Haneda’s most prized possession and similar to Kuroda she has an image of the victim at the crime scene. Unlike Kuroda though, Rumi has an image of Haneda, when he was alive and he’s wearing the same clothes as he was when he died, which suggests that she was at the crime scene 17 years ago. The fact that she has Haneda’s most prized possession backs this up.
The uploader, as I've mentioned before, knew many facts about the case and Rumi being in the same vicinity of the crime, as well as interacting with the victim suggests that she may also be knowledgeable about the case, even more so than Kuroda. Bourbon only mentioned the case after seeing the shogi piece and it didn’t seem to be fresh on his mind, if Kuroda knew the relevance of the case to RUM then it wouldn’t make sense as to why Bourbon only thinks of the case in terms of PSB training, rather than a connection to RUM considering that the number two is their main threat at this point and time.
Remember, Rumi clenches her back pocket where the shogi piece is located, at the near mention of the word prosthetic, so it’s possible that she has connected the case to RUM. Rumi’s name also resembles the dying message which suggests that she’s aware of even that. She has a direct connection to the Haneda case and also seems to have important information such as an updated APTX list with both Kudou and Haneda on it.
If Rumi is the case uploader, however, then the fact that she was at the scene kind of contradicts the main objective of the uploader. She met with Haneda directly and he even mentions his own death to her and as I've mentioned she seems to be aware of RUM’s involvement. So why then would she be reaching out for help if she knows who the main player of the case is? Well it’s possible that RUM used another identity 17 years ago, unlike his current Wakita Kanenori disguise. And maybe she needs help narrowing down his new identity and by uploading information online she can capture as many leads as possible considering there seems to be outliers regarding the case that made RUM screw up, which have not yet been established.
I’ve mentioned before that my belief is that Rumi is BO, but why not investigate inside of the organization rather than upload information regarding a 17 year old case? Well remember RUM started rumors' about his identity, which distills any information that she could have received from the organization. Not to mention that if she is BO then we don’t know her current rank. Vodka isn’t high enough to reach RUM and he works with GIN, so maybe the most Rumi could obtain was an APTX list.
In conclusion, if the kouji case uploader is amongst the three suspects then it has to be Rumi. Her characterization coincides with the uploader in the sense that she’s very knowledgeable about the case and doesn’t seem to have an agenda of hiding information regarding it (similar to the uploader), even going as far as using a name that resembles the dying message. The only reason for this would be that she wants to resolve certain questions surrounding the case.
Some say Mary could be the uploader, however, I disagree. Her paranoid behavior doesn’t coincide with the uploader, who seems to even reupload information as it’s taken down. Mary switches hotels and seems to be in hiding, why then would she potentially bring attention to herself by uploading information regarding the case? Also, similar to Kuroda she has a prominent law enforcement agency backing her, so why not utilize their resources rather than ask for help over the internet?
She also stresses that she needs her real body in order to act, which she hasn’t achieved yet. So why then would she make a premeditated mode which could put both her and Masumi at risk. Even if she were to change hotels, it would be an unnecessary risk considering she hasn’t achieved her main goal yet, which is to revert back into an adult. Now, I could be wrong.

During Idea Factory International’s Online Summer Festival livestream, the company has teased the localization of Bilshana Senki. The English release of the Switch otome game doesn’t have a release window yet. The Japanese name is likely to be temporary as well.
Bilshana Senki is a historical tale that takes place in Japan during the Heian era. As the Genpei civil war is taking place, the Yorimoto and Taira clans fight for supremacy. In this context, the daughter of the Minamoto, Shanaou, will also have to fight. One aspect of the game is that all characters are based on real Japanese historical figures.
Besides the protagonist, the main characters in the game include Minamoto no Yoritomo (CV: Furukawa Makoto), Musashibou Benkei (CV: Umehara Yuuichirou), Shungen (CV: Saitou Souma), Taira no Noritsune (CV: Kawanishi Kengo), and Taira no Tomomori (CV: Fukuyama Jun). The character designs are by illustrator Haneda Kouji, while Red’s Itou Ai (who also worked on Kenka Bancho Otome) is the director.
Check out the Japanese opening video for the game with the song Kimiiro ni Saku Hana sung by Amatsuki:

The theme of the latest opening seems to be about lover, which means Haneda Kouji and Wakasa Rumi are technically confirmed lovers?
ShinichixRan, HeijixKazuha, and MakotoxSonoko aside… they’re also putting an image of melancholic looking Akai and crying Jodie.
Veronica/Speedwell, which is the flower featured in this ending song, means loyalty or fidelity in floral language.
