Rum’s subordinate theory
—————-——(Haneda problem)———————
(File 1066)
The ASACA song and Soul Detective cases demonstrate that the BO continues to view the Haneda case as significant. Despite their fixation, RUM disguised himself as a sushi chef to monitor Kogoro, rather than to investigate the cause of his mistake 17 years prior.
(File 1060)
In this arc, we have seen RUM utilizing other agents to accomplish tasks that would prove difficult for him to complete alone. For instance, he attempted to investigate the Kudou situation but was unsuccessful, so he relied on the assistance of Bourbon. He also utilized Vermouth to investigate the Yuusaku TV case.
Gosho has established that RUM uses agents to his advantage. Given his continued interest in the Haneda case, as evidenced by the BO's actions, it's natural that he would use an unnamed agent to keep an eye on the situation. This would explain why he has the time to investigate Kogoro and keep the Haneda case as a secondary concern.
(File 423)
Following Pisco's death, the Nomiguichi family disappeared, and the BO burned Pisco's house. Haibara states in File 242, "All suspicious individuals are erased... that's their style." This statement was further expanded in File 243 to state, "If they are aware of your involvement with the organization, it will undoubtedly become a heavy burden for them.
(File 422)
My interpretation of this is that the BO places a strong emphasis on eliminating loose ends. Given RUM's mistake in the 17-year-old case, this emphasis would likely extend to that situation as well. The BO is operating in Japan, and the only surviving family member of the victim in that case is Haneda Kouji. However, there is no evidence of any attempt to harm or even monitor this family.
Shukichi became a member of the Haneda family and even followed in Kouji's footsteps. It's possible that the Hanedas' wealth and influence, which provide them with connections to organizations like MI6, have created a protective shield for themselves in case the perpetrators of their son's death come looking for them, making it difficult for the BO to infiltrate.
In conclusion, the BO's reputation for tying up loose ends is well established, as demonstrated by the events following Pisco's death. This precedent would not likely be disregarded in a case where the number two of the organization made a mistake. Therefore, it's reasonable to assume that the BO may be keeping an eye on the Hanedas.
—————————(Intro cases)—————————
Gosho has established a pattern in the RUM arc where he introduces characters that are crucial to the plot. In these cases, he employs symbolism and provides hints through references to give readers a deeper understanding of the character's role in the story.
(File 916)
In the introduction case for Kuroda, he mentioned that he had heard rumors about Conan from the National Police Agency (NPA). As a result, he referred to Conan as "the sleeping Kogoro's bag of wisdom." It is known that Kuroda acts as Bourbon's handler within the NPA.
(File 975)
In Wakita's intro case, the spirit horse reference symbolizes RUM. We now know, for the most part, that Wakita is RUM.
(File 966)
Rumi's introduction case centered around the discovery of a wealthy person's skeleton ten years after their death by the Detective Boys. The headmaster of the case mentioned the need to atone for one's sins, symbolizing Rumi's desire for the BO to pay for their sin of killing Haneda Kouji. The references to Whiskey and Ebisu in the case also hold significance. Whiskey symbolizes the BO, and Ebisu symbolizes good luck. This has since been proven true, as Rumi has an APTX list, connecting her to the BO, and has Kouji's good luck charm.
In conclusion, Gosho intentionally includes important information in character introduction cases that are related to the plot, providing readers with an understanding of what to expect from the new characters.
(File 981)
Gosho appears to have intentionally emphasized the unlucky nature of Friday the 13th in Iori's introductory case. Through interactions between Iori and Bourbon, the reasons for the superstitions surrounding the date were highlighted, with Iori going so far as to interrupt Bourbon to further emphasize the point. This emphasis on the unlucky day could have been done to prompt readers to question its true significance. Additionally, Bourbon mentioned that Friday the 13th only occurs twice a year, as if Gosho wanted to remind readers of another instance in the series when the unlucky day was present.
(File 606)
The main timeline of Detective Conan takes place over the course of one year, and the only other time that Friday the 13th occurred was when Akai faked his death, which was related to the BO. In this case, Gosho continues to follow his formula of using symbolism and references in plot-related character introduction cases. The unlucky day of Friday the 13th symbolizes that the introduced character will bring misfortune, and this character is also related to the BO, as previously seen on this day in the past. There is also a subtle reference to the Iroha Sushi case, in which RUM was involved, further reinforcing this point.
—————————-(Chance)—————————-
In super digest book 100+, Gosho was asked about what led Iori to become Momiji's butler in the Ooka family, and he responded by saying that it was something to look forward to. This highlights the importance of Iori's role in the plot. As the BO places a significant emphasis on tying up loose ends, it is natural for them to want to do the same in the Haneda case.Given the plot, it is likely that Iori is the only person who can accomplish this task. Until recently, Gosho has kept Iori's role as a mere side character, leading readers to believe he is not important. However, this is likely because Gosho is saving Iori for something unique.Infiltrating the Haneda family might be difficult, so the next best thing would be to intercept the communication bridge between them and their associates to gather intel. Iori's role as Momiji's butler in the Ooka family is likely to be significant in this regard.
(File 1042)
Iori has the means and influence to keep an eye on them using this method because the lover code case revealed his accessibility to non-public information regarding them.
(File 1040)
We can also see that Iori has the ability to be very persuasive towards Momiji. He gives her the necessary arguments to overcome any obstacles that she may encounter. This shows that he is not just a passive servant, but he is capable of providing valuable input that can move Momiji forward. If his true intention is to gather intelligence on the Haneda family, then he would have the ability to easily manipulate Momiji and extract information from the Ooka family as needed.
—————————(Scotch)———————————
The RUM arc started with the notion that the organization would try to eradicate any lingering spies. Bourbon also mentioned Scotch for the first time here.
(File 1090)
During the resolution of the scriptwriter's murder case, Iori made a significant remark, saying, "It appears that he is being held back by his past ties." This statement referred to Bourbon's actions. Iori was pointing out the latter's recklessness and how it had made him appear suspicious. By mentioning this, Iori is highlighting Bourbon's weakness. Conan also reinforced this point by mentioning the PSB on the same page.
(File 898)
If my assessment is correct, Iori gave himself away in his interaction with Kuroda. It's important to recall that the BO knew that there was a mole among their ranks, but only knew their face and not their name. This parallel is created by Gosho. If someone had tipped off the BO about Scotch's identity, that person must have been close enough to identify the NOCS within the PSB network, but not their real name. Similarly, Iori referred to Bourbon as the blond-haired man, indicating that he doesn't know him on a first-name basis. However, he was able to identify Bourbon's weakness, which suggests that he had in-depth knowledge about Bourbon's infiltration of the BO, specifically regarding the Scotch situation.
(File 897)
The anonymous tip must have come from the NPA/PSB because people from other organizations would need more information to identify spies in the network. For example, Akai suspected Bourbon but could only verify after learning about his nickname, zero.
(File 1090)
Gosho's revealing of the dark silhouette during Iori and Kuroda's interaction was a strategic move for two reasons. Firstly, it redirected readers' focus away from Iori's telling comments. Secondly, if the shadowy figure is indeed Yasuharu Haneda, it reinforces the notion that the BO has a mole closely monitoring the Haneda family. To condense the idea, the anonymous informant who revealed Scotch's identity could only provide a facial description. The FBI required more than just a face and suspicious behavior to identify a spy within the NPA. This suggests that the BO might have a member within the NPA/PSB network who could get close enough to identify the NOCS but not reveal their name. Iori, who doesn't know Bourbon's name, was able to expose him as a spy and reveal his vulnerability. If someone did tip off the BO, Gosho could be drawing a parallel between Iori and the traitor who exposed Scotch.

(Updated) Rumi BO Theory
Video link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z_JWCrKJ4Q
(File 181)
Rumi’s possession of an updated APTX list is a clear indication that she has ties with the BO. My reasoning is that in file 181, Haibara and Kudou confiscated a floppy disk that contained black organization data on it, however, the disk was encrypted with the “night baron” virus, which prevents unauthorized users from accessing the BO’s sensitive data. It seems that Rumi is able to bypass this firewall, which hints at her being affiliated with the organization.
(File 852)
During the cherry blossom case, Haibara didn’t sense either Bourbon or Vermouth, which means she was nerfed after the events of the mystery train. I attribute this to her no longer feeling threatened by the organization considering team Kudou’s “successful” attempt at faking her death. Gosho used this opportunity to play with the reader’s expectation that if Haibara didn’t sense a new character's BO presence, then that automatically disqualified them. By doing this Gosho could keep readers guessing about future RUM candidates.
The reason Haibara was able to sense RUM is that he’s the second in command. He has access to Karasuma, so his BO “aura” is intense. His presence probably re-ignited her ability causing her to react even though he wasn’t in the same room as her. The aforementioned points explain why despite being in constant contact with Rumi, Haibara hasn’t reacted negatively to her presence.
(Notice that Haibara and Wakita only share a chapter after the reveal, I believe this was intentional, as the purpose of her nerf was to mislead readers about Rumi’s BO affiliation)
(File 987)
Next, Kuroda connected her name to the Haneda case, which proves that people with knowledge about it can easily make this noticeable observation. Despite this, the organization still hasn’t tried to lay a finger on her considering that she still teaches at the elementary school.
The panel that illustrates the content on Kuroda’s laptop is the broken hand mirror with PTON engraved on it. I think this was done intentionally by Gosho to illustrate that Kuroda is making a connection between the dying message and her name. It’s clear that they met in the past, but the main point here is that he’s questioning her new alias, as the name is related to Haneda’s dying message.
(File 954)
The song called Asaka case was used to emphasize the organization's concerns regarding the Haneda case. However, despite, being on the news the BO hasn’t reacted to her name, which is a play on the elementary solution to the dying message WAKASA RUMI = ASAKA RUM (IW). The BO not reacting to her name is based on the assumption that they’ve taken notice of her silly name.
(File 1062)
Gosho provides hints for this “assumption”. During the serial murder case, Rum’s able to notice the FBI’s fake code as a result of the differences in the romaji. This is important because it illustrates Rum’s perceptiveness in being able to spot differences in Japanese characters or romaji.
If that’s the case, why wouldn’t he be able to notice the similarities between the romaji in Rumi’s name and Haneda’s dying message? Remember there was a blogger who kept posting information regarding the case, despite it being taken down, so it’s highly likely that RUM has seen the broken hand mirror. The blogger's attempts to solve the case should also incentivize RUM to move with caution at any mention of a name associated with the Haneda case, similarly, to he/their reaction to the Asaka song case. Despite all of this the organization still allows her to move freely.
Overall, RUM’s ability to spot the FBI’s fake code could be a way of Gosho hinting towards him, not only being aware of Haneda's dying message (it was written and meant to be deciphered using romaji) but Rumi’s alias as well.
(File 980)
Now, instead of harboring animosity towards her, RUM compliments Rumi calling her quick-witted, and we know he was talking about her because both she and the culprit were the only ones visible in the picture. He couldn’t have been referring to Kudou because he wasn’t visible to the cameras at this time.
Anyways, Rum’s complement is important because it could be evidence that he knows who Rumi is, otherwise, why wouldn’t he move with caution on the premise that she could be the unknown blogger considering her name?
(File 1008)
The way he reacted to an equally threatening situation like the reappearance of Kudou Shinichi is different than when he compliments Rumi. The difference is that he smirks at Rumi’s mention, but seems agitated and worried about Kudou’s reappearance. The difference in his expressions must mean that Rumi isn’t a threat in his eyes.
Ultimately, the point here is that the BO doesn't seem to harbor any animosity towards her and she doesn’t seem to be hiding. The evidence of her lacking the ambition to stay incognito is that she lives in an expensive condo, where celebrities once resided and she also uses a fake name that is blatantly referencing the Haneda case, which we know she has knowledge of because she’s in possession of Haneda’s memento.
My conclusion is that she’s a current black organization member. She has an APTX list, which means that she has some sort of BO clearance that hasn’t been revealed yet, otherwise the data would have suffered the same fate as the floppy disk. Kuroda reacted negatively to her name, but RUM hasn’t despite Gosho illustrating his perceptiveness in being able to criticize romaji. The BO doesn’t take threats lightly considering RUM’s current mission regarding Kogoro, so why would Rumi get a pass? Unless she’s operating with their approval, otherwise, she’d suffer the same fate as ex-agents like “Sherry” and Pisco.

Haneda Kouji Case Uploader
Full video - https://youtu.be/k-GYeNKRPP4
When mentioning the Kouji case uploader Kudou says “ It’s almost as if that person is saying please help me solve this mystery”. This observation can serve as a hint when trying to identify who the case uploader is. It seems that their main objective is geared towards unraveling the mysteries regarding the Haneda case. Why else would they upload such sensitive information about the case? It also seems that the case uploader as Agasa mentioned knows “minute details' ' meaning that they are very knowledgeable about the case. I believe the best way to narrow down the identity of the uploader is to determine who’s actions align with this person's goal, which as Kudou mentioned is solving the Haneda case.
Looking at the three suspects, We know that Wakita is RUM. Kudou mentioned that whenever the information about the case is taken down the uploader re-uploads the information. The only reason for someone to take down this information would be because it may become damaging to them. Given the organization’s reaction to the song called Asaka, the soul detective, and the fact that RUM screwed up 17 years ago, it doesn’t make sense for the BO to be the ones uploading this information, given that RUM himself was involved in the case.
Kuroda is an NPA higher up. We know that the PSB are familiar with the case, so the NPA must be as well. He even connects Rumi to the case and as some have mentioned he even provides us with an image of Haneda Kouji at the crime scene. It’s possible that Kuroda is the uploader, but the uploader seems to be crying out for help, and as an NPA official Kuroda would have a lot of resources at his disposal and wouldn’t have the need to cry out for help over the internet. Kuroda’s main objective seems to be the organization, rather than the Haneda case. The only reason he thought of the case was because of Rumi. Which leads me to my next suspect.
Rumi seems to have known Haneda, to the point of even calling him foolish. She seems to be the only one out of the three suspects that has had some sort of direct relationship with the victim. She even possesses Haneda’s most prized possession and similar to Kuroda she has an image of the victim at the crime scene. Unlike Kuroda though, Rumi has an image of Haneda, when he was alive and he’s wearing the same clothes as he was when he died, which suggests that she was at the crime scene 17 years ago. The fact that she has Haneda’s most prized possession backs this up.
The uploader, as I've mentioned before, knew many facts about the case and Rumi being in the same vicinity of the crime, as well as interacting with the victim suggests that she may also be knowledgeable about the case, even more so than Kuroda. Bourbon only mentioned the case after seeing the shogi piece and it didn’t seem to be fresh on his mind, if Kuroda knew the relevance of the case to RUM then it wouldn’t make sense as to why Bourbon only thinks of the case in terms of PSB training, rather than a connection to RUM considering that the number two is their main threat at this point and time.
Remember, Rumi clenches her back pocket where the shogi piece is located, at the near mention of the word prosthetic, so it’s possible that she has connected the case to RUM. Rumi’s name also resembles the dying message which suggests that she’s aware of even that. She has a direct connection to the Haneda case and also seems to have important information such as an updated APTX list with both Kudou and Haneda on it.
If Rumi is the case uploader, however, then the fact that she was at the scene kind of contradicts the main objective of the uploader. She met with Haneda directly and he even mentions his own death to her and as I've mentioned she seems to be aware of RUM’s involvement. So why then would she be reaching out for help if she knows who the main player of the case is? Well it’s possible that RUM used another identity 17 years ago, unlike his current Wakita Kanenori disguise. And maybe she needs help narrowing down his new identity and by uploading information online she can capture as many leads as possible considering there seems to be outliers regarding the case that made RUM screw up, which have not yet been established.
I’ve mentioned before that my belief is that Rumi is BO, but why not investigate inside of the organization rather than upload information regarding a 17 year old case? Well remember RUM started rumors' about his identity, which distills any information that she could have received from the organization. Not to mention that if she is BO then we don’t know her current rank. Vodka isn’t high enough to reach RUM and he works with GIN, so maybe the most Rumi could obtain was an APTX list.
In conclusion, if the kouji case uploader is amongst the three suspects then it has to be Rumi. Her characterization coincides with the uploader in the sense that she’s very knowledgeable about the case and doesn’t seem to have an agenda of hiding information regarding it (similar to the uploader), even going as far as using a name that resembles the dying message. The only reason for this would be that she wants to resolve certain questions surrounding the case.
Some say Mary could be the uploader, however, I disagree. Her paranoid behavior doesn’t coincide with the uploader, who seems to even reupload information as it’s taken down. Mary switches hotels and seems to be in hiding, why then would she potentially bring attention to herself by uploading information regarding the case? Also, similar to Kuroda she has a prominent law enforcement agency backing her, so why not utilize their resources rather than ask for help over the internet?
She also stresses that she needs her real body in order to act, which she hasn’t achieved yet. So why then would she make a premeditated mode which could put both her and Masumi at risk. Even if she were to change hotels, it would be an unnecessary risk considering she hasn’t achieved her main goal yet, which is to revert back into an adult. Now, I could be wrong.

Detective Conan file 1019 Review
Okay so last chapter Kid vowed to steal the fair’s lips and in 1019 he does just that or so it seems.
The chapter begins with Nakamori reading kids note that he found under his shoe. The note read “Tonight, at midnight, I shall appear to claim the fairy’s lip - Kaitou kid”
Despite Kids declaration... Koumei showcased just how troublesome he’ll be for Kid.
Through investigation of the remaining cards on the museum floorboard, Koumei saw through the fact that Kid only recently decided on a plan to steal the jewel. Which warranted Nakamori to apply pressure on the officer's stationed around the museum.
As expected of the master strategist, He was able to force Kid to into an uncomfortable situation, however, the master thief is quick on his toes.
Kid’s epiphany of a new plan came to him after he observed Heiji’s obvious attraction to Kazuha.
Kid retreats to the bathroom and disguises as a foreign lady, but before that scene, Heiji in his mind decides that the way to Kazuha’s heart is by capturing Kaitou kid, who he dubs a “strong fella”. It’s pretty interesting that Heiji thinks Kazuha would fall for him if he captures kid. She isn’t really the type imo to fall for someone because of their success at something, she’s more of an I like him for him type a girl.
I liked this scene because it depicts how Heiji’s is overthinking his need to confess to Kazuha. I mean the guy in his conscious says “I wouldn’t mind showin’ ya where else I’m better”.
Anyways, Kid disguised as a foreign lady spills coke all over Kazuha’s dress and hands her a one-piece dress from a brand that supposedly popular.
first of all, why is a foreign lady walking around with a one-piece dress in her bag? forget the fact that drinks are forbidden.
Conan’s smells bs as well when he realizes that the text was also written in English, but he doesn't think too much of it.
Kid’s plan did succeed, he was able to force Kazuha to enter the bathroom, where he knocked her out and disguise as her.
Kazu-kid is badass, Kid’s personality in Kazuha’s body makes her seem more arrogant and I love it. The first thing Kazu-kid says is “How about it, Heiji..? Ya fell in love with me again, didn’t ya?”
I love this arrogance.. it makes Kazuha’s character look more badass and if Momiji does end up making an appearance in this case then ladies and gentlemen grab your popcorn, your mountain dew we’re in for a show.
Anyways, Heiji’s need to confess to Kazuha creates a lap in his judgment where he doesn’t notice Kazuha’s change in nature. Kid takes advantage of this and uses Heiji to make his way into the ice room.
Kazu-kid finds her phone underneath a pole, which I don’t even see how it’s possible to unintentionally put your phone there but anyways. What I find most intriguing about Aoyama’s narration in this file, is the fact that he gives us everything. Through our supposed antagonist(Kid), We know that kid is disguised as Kazuha, which is pretty strange because most of the times in a kid case, we the readers are tasked with unraveling the identity of Kid rather then it being relinquished to us.
The reason for this will obviously soon be revealed, but could it be that Kid won't be the main antagonist of this case? which is why Aoyama is narrating the story from both the protagonist and the supposed antagonist's perspectives?
When Kazu-kid made her move in the ice room... Koumei said something very interesting.. he says “wanting to get rid of rats by throwing things at them, but afraid to hit the nearby dishes, thus being unable to throw anything”... this all stems from the Chinese idiom “Hesitating to pelt a rat for fear of smashing the dishes”...
In terms of the current situation, I interpret this as Koumei saying that Kid looks at the police officers as pesky rats, and to get rid of them he throws a smokescreen, but he’s afraid to do anything rash for fear of being caught.
Koumei realizes that Kid isn’t in a position to steal the Fairy’s lip and thinks that the smokescreen is a bluff.
After the smoke clears up multiple Fairy’s lip jewels as seen in the ice. Though one replica shares a striking resemblance to the real jewel due to its texture...
It’s possible that kid, as Koumei stated is bluffing, which mean that rather than hit the nearby dishes by being rash he has created the illusion that he has taken the Fairy’s Lip.
Thanks for reading, I hope you have a great day.

Detective Conan File 1017 Review
Above - File 1017
The case of the female traffic cop serial murders has come to a close with the latest chapter of the DC manga. As expected Aono-san is the culprit.
Above - File 1015
what lead me to the conclusion that he was the killer, was because of both what he said during the traffic stop and what the killer said in file 1015. The killer reminisced about a woman named Aiko who supposedly died. It seemed as though he was putting blame on the female traffic cops for her death. In this same file, we learned that when Aono-san was stopped, he was crying because his neurotic girlfriend was waiting for him.
Above - File 1017
Neurosis can cause depression, so this condition mixed in with the fact that Aiko was being harassed at work, is what lead her to commit suicide. The fact that Aono-san was on his phone meant that Aiko sent him a text/called as we learned in 1017. He was the only one out of the three suspects that seemed worried about something, and after learning that the culprits revenge centered around a woman named Aiko, I was certain that Aono was the killer.
Above - File 1017
Now, the killers motive was one out of the three hints that Gosho gave us. The second hint was the parking sign(Keep in mind that the order of the hints in this post is obituary). The parking sign as we learned from Conan can be interpreted as no. The sign itself is blue and the overlap of the shape of the sign spells out no, so AO + NO = AONO. It looks like this was the significance of the English hint that we got in file 1016. I like how complex, but at the same time simple this hint was.
Gosho tricked some of us including me, into thinking that the no parking sign was a hint that told us who the three suspects were. The color scheme of the sign matched the last names of the three suspects(Red = Akamine, Blue = Aono, white = Shiroyama), but ultimately it wasn’t the correct deduction.
Above - File 1017
The last hint that Gosho gave us was 7155. As someone on discord deduced, Yagi’s dying messaged pointed to traffic law 71 section 5-5, which says that civilians should not use their cellphones while driving. Aono was on his phone which is why he was pulled over.
Above - File 1017
The case itself was very interesting, Aono had a lot of emotions at the time of his girlfriend's death that manifested into hatred for the police. He was a suspect that was fearless with his crimes. He brutally attacked Momosaki with a baseball bat and threw Yagi off of a building. I don’t think Aono cared about getting caught, because, during his interaction with Yagi in 1014, he wasn't shocked that she had found him. He more or less commended her for finding his location.
Above - File 1016
After, Yagi’s death Aono-san seemed a bit desperate to find Yumi. He was so desperate that he decided to kidnap Naeko. Overall this case was very thrilling and had a lot of gore. I like how Aoyama-sensei was able to incorporate many aspects of the plot as well as the side plot in one case.
Above - File 1017
Chiba and Naeko have finally progressed, Aoyama-sensei also progressed Yumi and Shukichi’s relationship, by emphasizing that Yumi sleeps over his house. I’m really happy that we got these two progressions because this means that we could get a Heiji and Kazuha development soon, which could feature Momiji and Iori.
Above - File 1017
In this file, Kuroda calls Rei Bourbon and they briefly discuss the Kudo mansion meeting. Some people may be convinced that Kuroda is RUM, but I disagree. In Kuroda’s first appearance in the Japanese manga, he use’s the term Keisatsu-chō when referring to where he learned about Conan. The Keisatsu-chō is the NPA or National Police Agency, which is a federal agency in Japan. The Public safety bureau or PSB focuses on the public safety with respect to the Tokyo metropolitan area. The NPA focuses on the entirety of Japan with jurisdiction that flows through the entire stratovolcanic archipelago. The NPA is considered the PSB’s superiors, so Kuroda is most likely an NPA official who Bourbon reports to. Overall, if Kuroda was RUM, Bourbon would already be dead because he is a spy and the BO doesn’t tolerate disloyalty. Akai and the Kudo’s would also be dead, so Kuroda can’t be RUM.
Heres a link to my video titled “Clues that Kuroda isn’t RUM”

How powerful is the Karasuma group?
The Karasuma group is similar to the Yakuza in Japan. The term Yakuza comes from an insult in the gambling game called “Oicho Kabu”, and was a losing hand 8–9–3 (yattsu, kyu, san, shortened to ya-ku-sa).
The yakuza aren’t a “mafia-like” group, in fact, they aren’t “a” group - they are MANY groups. They operate in the open and run legal businesses that cover their dark activities (gambling, sex trade, and trafficking, drugs, hired hitmen, etc). The Karasuma group to our knowledge operates in the shadows, however, we don’t know if they have a public image, similar to the Yakuza. The Karasuma Group seem to have influence in a range of different sectors similar to the Yakuza. Like I said before the big difference between the two is transparency.
Above - File 1008
How powerful is the black organization? Well in order to answer this question, I think it’s important to inspect just how powerful Karasuma Renya was. Yusaku referred to him as “The most powerful person in Japan”.
Above - File 302
We’ve all heard the saying money can buy anything you want and we know that Karasuma Renya is filthy rich, most likely due to his parents(he inherited a mansion from his mother), so his power most likely came from his wealth.
Some portion of the group's money seems to be catered towards lobbying politicians to assist the BO with their operations. Nomiguchi was a politician, who was silenced at Haido Hotel after he was under suspicion of taking bribes. The fact that the organization targetted him, means that they were probably the ones bribing him.
Above - File 499
Now, an important thing to pay attention to is that although the black organization has political influence, it seems as though they don’t have a chock hold on news corporations. Otherwise, the news about Nomiguchi would have a been concealed in the shadows. As far as we know in terms of news influence, the group only had Kir on the inside.
Above - File 504
Anyways, the BO’s power seems to stretch as far as the Japanese government, I wouldn’t be a surprise if an important Japanese political figure ends up being apart of the group. The goal of lobbying political figures seems to be to have them regulate crime in such a way that would allow the group to get away with their operations. When Domon Yasuteru tried campaigning against crime and terror the group tried to silence him.
The group could have ended Domon with the news about his father allegedly having an extramarital affair 20 years ago, however, they chose to murder him instead in cold blood, by setting up with an interview with him. I think the group chose to do this to set an example out of him.
The group has a massive amount of power, they have fallen under the radar of the PSB, FBI, and the even the CIA. The FBI deals with domestic issues in the United States and the CIA deal with foreign affairs. The group probably fell under the radar of the FBI, after the Haneda case, which happened domestically in the United States.
Anyways, the group has power over many influential people in not only Japan but America as well. They range from actors all the way to car company presidents.
The group has an influence on the black market as well. After the resolution of the rollercoaster murder case, Shinichi witnessed the group blackmailing a weapons smuggler. They received cash for the intel of the CEO’s smuggling activities.
The weapons smuggler said, “compared to the stuff you guys do we’re...”. This statement implies that the group is pretty well known in the black market for doing shady business and activities.
The group also has power in the scientific field. They have multiple laboratories and scientist who work for them on the clock. They have developed at least two drugs thus far. The drug that killed Kohji and Amanda, and also the drug that shrank Shinichi and Shiho. Vermouth has ceased to age, but we don’t know for a fact if it was because of a third drug.
The organization's intentions of expanding to the scientific field seem to be centered around a drug that kills without leaving a trace. They used this unknown drug against Kohji and Gin gave Shinichi APTX with the intent that he would die without a cause of death. I personally believe that they have another goal in mind, rather than just committing murder, however, that’s another video.
The organization also seems to have expanded into the computer science sector. Tequila received a list of the world’s top programmers right before his death. Two years prior to the current timeline, Tequila also visited Itakura in an attempt to have him complete a program for the organization. The contents of this program were unknown.
The organization has access to advance technology such as thermal image scanners. Gin used this technology to see which room the FBI agents flooded to, during the clash of red and black. He also used this technology to see which car Kir was detained in.
The Organization also has the power to cause massive food poisonings, chemical attacks, and bombings concurrently. This means that they have an abundance of resources available to them that allows them to systematically orchestrate attacks on the public if need be. The gunpowder for the bombs probably come from the black market and the chemicals most likely come from their labs.
The organization has influence in politics, science, computer science, the black market, Hollywood, the private sector, and even the news to a certain extent. They are very powerful indeed, which is why even though there are three criminal organizations trailing them, it still isn’t enough to take them down.
The main reason for this is that the boss himself conceals himself in the shadows. He is a very rich and powerful man who most likely has connections to high ranking officials in the Japanese government.
Although the group has a lot of power, they lack it in the law enforcement sector until further notice. We have had plenty of spies in the organization, however, it’s possible that there are spies in the law enforcement as well. It’s unclear if this notion is true due to lack of evidence, so let's just stick to the status quo.
Thanks for reading.

Clues that Kuroda isn’t RUM from the case (File 1014-1017)
The translations to the spoilers can be found here - https://haibaranay.tumblr.com/post/175402618597/detective-conan-1017-spoiler-translation
The main plot development that we will get in file 1017 is the connection between Bourbon and Kuroda. In these three panels, the exchange between the two is Rei telling Kuroda that he has done what he was instructed to do, which was to relay information to Conan about the traffic stops. Kuroda then begins to ask Rei about “that matter”.
The signs that point towards Kuroda not being Rum from this case alone is...
Rei is smiling in his exchange of dialogue with Kuroda as if he isn’t a threat. In comparison, when RUM messaged him, Bourbon was shocked. He even had a sweat drip as he punched in the keys to reply.
Again, in file 1011 Bourbon has sweat dripping down his cheek as he replies back to RUM. So, If Kuroda was RUM, Bourbon would have maintained the same seriousness as file 1008 and 1011.
Kuroda asks Bourbon about the meeting with the Kudos saying “Hows it going”. The fact that Kuroda knows about the meeting, means that Bourbon told him. If Kuroda was RUM then the kudos, as well as Akai, would be in danger.
In file 1012 Yusaku says “Given that, unlike last time your friends do not appear to be here”. This signals to Bourbon that Yusaku was disguised as Subaru. Bourbon being the exceptional detective that he is will realize that Akai and the Kudos joined forces, back during the Scarlet series to deceive him.
Subaru made an appearance in file 1016, so if Kuroda is RUM and Bourbon already told him about the meeting then Subaru/Akai would have already lost his life. The organization wouldn’t miss the opportunity to take out the prominent FBI agent Akai Shuichi.
Anyways, Bourbon’s response to Kuroda about the meeting is “ Nothing yet… “.
What I take from this statement is that the context of the meeting between Bourbon and the Kudos is centered around some sort of plan that requires perfect timing. Bourbon seems to be waiting for the Kudos to give him instructions. They may be waiting for something to happen, which will allow them to capitalize on their plan.
(Although Bourbon is sweating, similarly to his conversation with RUM, this only happened after Kuroda brings up the topic of the meeting. If Kuroda was RUM, the previous subject which was Conan would have invoked the same seriousness from Bourbon, as it did with the message from RUM.)
Kuroda says “Do not neglect to report Bourbon”. Aoyama-sensei is leaving us with a cliffhanger until Aug 29th, he wants some to believe that Kuroda is RUM. However, just because he calls Rei Bourbon, doesn’t make him RUM. There are a lot of signs that point to Kuroda being NPA, so If Bourbon is going to form an alliance with the Kudos and the FBI, then it makes sense for him to inform his higher-ups.
Another hint that Kuroda isn’t RUM is his interest in Conan. Since day one Kuroda has called him the Sleeping Kogoro’s bag of wisdom. Kuroda has gain intel from Bourbon about Conan. It’s hasn’t been confirmed on whether or not they know that Conan is Shinichi, however, I believe that they have some sort of idea.
Rei connected Conan to the meeting, and the context of that meeting revolved around Kudo Shinichi. Conan’s intelligence rivals Shinichi’s from an outsiders perspective. Even if Rei doesn’t have concrete proof, he may have an idea about Conan’s identity. If Kuroda is Rum, then Conan would also be in danger, but from this case alone, we have seen him roam freely through Beika.
Some may say that the organization may be trying to catch all the birds in one shot(assuming Kuroda is RUM) but based off of RUM’s eagerness for Intel, I don’t think that is the case.
Thanks for reading.

Clues That Rumi Is A BO Member
As you all know, my stance on Rumi is that she is Asaka. Now, this may or may not be true, however, if you would be kind enough to read my Asaka theory - https://struglez.tumblr.com/post/172272880910/asaka-theory I’d be really grateful.
Before we discuss Rumi, let’s first talk about Haibara and her unique ability to sense black organization members. The last time she used this unique ability, was during the mystery train.
(Above - File 820)
She say’s, and I quote “This ominous feeling has been lingering ever since earlier”. Subsequently, after this she notices scared Akai, walking by.
(Above - File 800)
Now, we don’t know why Haibara has this unique ability, however, Gosho is using it to help readers determine the identity of black organization members. During the detective's nocturne, It became quite obvious who Bourbon was once, Haibara said: “What’s this feeling it’s something from behind”. At this time both Amuro and Masumi were trailing Subaru’s car. Bourbon is a liquor, so Amuro had to be Bourbon since liquors are codenames for male BO members and wine is used for females.
(Above - File 852)
What I find strange about Haibara’s ability is that during the cherry blossom case, she didn’t sense either Bourbon or Vermouth. What if Haibara’s ability is fading, what if Gosho is playing with the reader’s expectation that if Haibara doesn’t sense that a person is from the BO, then that means that person isn’t? I mean it’s possible considering, she didn’t sense Vermouth or Bourbon during the cherry blossom case.
(Above - File 920)
If Haibara’s ability is fading then that means that Kuroda and Rumi, who have already met Haibara are pretty suspicious.
(Above - 1005)
Assuming that Haibara’s ability has started to or has already faded, then Rumi’s character starts to make more sense. Rumi was looking at an APTX list(File 1005), which means that she has or at one point had some sort of connection to the BO. The list had Kudo Shinichi’s name on it, which means that Rumi had to have received that list, during the current timeline of the series.
If Rumi is a BO member, then I’d say that she is still an active member. The reason being is that, if she left the organization, then they would track her down and try to kill her. With that being said her name (WAKASA RUMI - IW = ASAKA RUM) brings too much attention to the 17 yr old case, if she ran away then she would want to keep a low profile and that name isn’t the best way to do it.
(Above - File 978)
Rumi also lives in a very expensive condo, where a pro golfer once lived. This leads me to believe that if she is a BO member then she has to be an active member.
Also, we can’t forget that despite her being on the news no BO member has confronted her.
(Above - File 948)
Now, if Rumi is a BO member then why would they allow her to use that name? Well, what if RUM is using her to bait out people, who are looking into the Haneda case? There is a mysterious person uploading info on the case. I personally believe that this person is Rumi herself because her actions fall in line with the blogger, who as Conan said: “seems to be crying out for help”. Rumi, as we all know, has a shogi piece and was linked to the Haneda case by Kuroda, also she has been seen using a laptop on two different occasions, which implies that she could be the blogger.
If Rumi is the blogger then I believe her goal is to identify RUM, who is her superior. I believe that she is Asaka and want’s to take revenge out on RUM.
(Above - File 906)
RUM has many descriptions so it wouldn’t be a surprise if most BO members don't know him personally.
(Above - File 948)
Well wait a minute if Rumi is Asaka in my theory then how would she be able to infiltrate the BO without RUM knowing? Well, what if when Amanda was attacked she wasn’t there? This could explain why Amanda’s room was neat despite there potentially being a well-trained bodyguard by her side. Amanda was killed with a mysterious APTX like drug, so if Asaka was in the room then there should have been two corpses in the room.
Some people may say “well RUM is Asaka that’s why the room was clean and only had one body”. I would disagree because the dying message has now been interpreted to KARASUMA, also why would Amanda’s bodyguard attack her at Juke? It would be more efficient to silence her at her home.
Anyways, It’s possible that Asaka wasn’t with Amanda when she was attacked. This could explain why Rumi was able to infiltrate the BO(assuming she is ASAKA).
(Above - File 967)
Another clue that point’s towards Rumi being a BO member is her love for the liquor Whiskey. Depending on your geographical region you could either get scotch or Bourbon. Scotch is whiskey made in Scotland and Bourbon is whiskey made in the USA. Rumi’s love for Whiskey could be a hint that just like Scotch and Bourbon she has infiltrated the BO.
Thanks for reading.

Asaka Theory
Above (File 966 )
Rumi was first introduced to us in file 966 and the first thing I’m sure we all noticed about her is that she is very clumsy. In her introduction to the class, she hits her head on the desk which seemed very odd given the fact that she beat up three robbers at once.
Above(File 968)
The first question we must ask is that if Rumi is RUM then why is she posing as a school teacher? To answer this question we must refer back to her second appearance (file 978-980).
Above(File 978)
In this case, Rumi spills paint on the artwork and claims that she won’t be able to get the height right for Conan. This makes the DB offer to assist her with the painting at her house.
Above(File 978)
Another interesting thing about Rumi is where she lives and that is in a high rise building next to a pro golfer. I find that very strange given the fact that she is an elementary school assistant homeroom teacher.
Above(File 979)
Now during that case in Wakasa sensei’s building, Conan finds a receipt which indicates that Rumi knew they would be coming to her condo. Conan begins suspecting Rumi, which is indeed what she wants.
Above(File 980)
When Rumi elbows Teigo-San it was unnecessary, because he was already on the ground and not to mention that the police were already present. This to me indicates that she is trying to showcase her strength for someone.
Above(980)
Rumi’s true intentions for bringing the detective boys to her house is simple. She wanted Conan to begin questioning her true identity.
Above(File 948)
Rumi is Asaka and she needs Conan's help in doing something. 17 yrs ago Amanda had a bodyguard named Asaka who disappeared after her death. This unknown person is the main suspect in the deaths of both Haneda and Amanda. I don't think Asaka killed them because as a bodyguard Asaka would have unlimited opportunities to kill her employer, so why would she do it at Juke?
Above(File 953)
Now I say she because Conan suspects that Asaka is a strong female bodyguard rather than a male based on Gotta Haito's testimony. This was in files 951-953 and Rumi who is a strong female appears in file 966.
Above(File 948)
Rumi is Asaka and she escaped death 17 yrs ago. She is also the person who has been uploading information online about the Haneda Case. In file 948 Professor Agasa says “ but still to know such details like this” when referring to the poster. I believe that this is a hint that whoever this mysterious blogger is they were at the scene of the crime 17 years ago.
Above(File 948)
In this same file, Conan states that it’s almost as if the person is asking for help with solving the case. Now Rumi, like I’ve stated earlier, seems like she’s trying to get Conan's attention. She acts clumsy on purpose and uses the name Wakasa Rumi. I think her actions can be linked to this mysterious blogger because as Conan said, this person seems like they're crying out for help in solving the Haneda case and Rumi is doing the same.
Above(File 987)
She carries around a shogi piece and does things that make it obvious that she is hiding something. Through Kuroda, we now know that Rumi is connected to the Haneda case in some way. The fact that after Conan believes that Asaka is a strong female and a couple of files later we get Rumi, I don’t think it’s a coincidence. Also, her actions as I’ve stated earlier fall in line with the Haneda case leaker. If she is the leaker then when you have taken into account what Agasa said about the blogger knowing too many details, then it makes sense for Rumi to be Asaka, because her actions fall in line with the blogger, which makes it very likely for her to be the one seeking help online.
I mean she could definitely pass for a bodyguard. Also, when you look at the blurred picture of Asaka the figure looks feminine.
