There are folk who seem to keep things stirred up in their lives. They are frequently at odds with others. Trouble seems to follow them and they often leave wreckage behind them wherever they go.

It is easy to let such folk get you caught up in their drama of the week. Allow it to happen enough times and you will soon find your peace disrupted. Meanwhile they will have gone on their way, leaving you to deal with the turmoil they have left behind.

Jesus lets us know that we can be peacemakers and peacekeepers, that is, able to keep peace ruling in our hearts. We can share that peace with those who are worthy of it and leave it with them. We can share it with those who are not worthy and take it with us when we leave.

The sad truth is that there are people who refuse to be peacable. To let them pull us into their storm is to let them keep us from maintaining our peace and reaching out to those who want peace. We do not have to respond tit for tat. We can keep our peace for those worthy of it!

My bestie and I let someone back in our lives last month we stopped talking to after high school (we graduated in 2012) when my bestie ghosted her (for a good reason) the girl messaged me last week me asking me to unlike every picture I liked of hers because she was going to deactivate her Facebook because of drama when I did that (she didn't have many pics she recently made a fb) she unfriended me when went to add her back she didn't accepted it so I asked her about she told me not to take it personally because no one will have her on her friend list so I gave her 3 days when she didn't deactivate her Facebook I blocked her do you think that was a good choice? (I won't see her in person again she lives in Colorado now)

I know I shouldn't let this bother me when she was toxic in high school but my bestie and I thought she changed because it was high school and we're adults now but I guess I'm letting it bother me because she could have told me she didn't want to be friends anymore when my bestie ghosted her I just know I won't give her another chance if she wants to be friends again

This isn't usually an ask I take, but I feel like people should be made aware, that toxic people do not belong in you lives.

Anyone who disturbs your energy, that would ask you ridiculous requests like unlike every photo, I would have just blocked her on the spot, kudos for even giving her a chance.

In my experience, very few are the people who change after high school, I mean, no one is the same person, but once a toxic person always a toxic person.

Mainly because they don't think they are, and no one tells them so, and if they do the narcissist inside them just deflects the blame and make the other party feel guilty for ever bringing up those issues to begin with.

So, yes, you did right by blocking her, keep your peace. It is alright to want to give people a second chance, but do it with both eyes open, and if something doesn't feel right or you feel like you are just compromising your own comfort, peace of mind and well being, cut them loose.

I had my own toxic best friend in high school, she was a libra with bad narcissistic traits, that I only now know to recognize those after I studied it in Uni and got my degree.

She always put her friends down, always created drama, always made me feel like everything was my fault and eventually I realized that I was always the one ending up apologizing for her transgressions against me. So I told her to fuck off and cut her from my life, It hurt like hell, but in the long run, it was the best decision I ever made.

jealousy really is the driving force of DamiTim as a ship. love that for them. love how Tim has the Robin mantle ripped away from him and he has to suffer the jealousy of watching Dick and Damian bond. how possessive over Dick Tim can be, to have him stolen by Dick.

even more so though, is the jealousy from Damian. how on earth do you cope when you finally get to be Robin, a role you've convinced is your birthright, and no one really likes you? every prefers the Robin who came before you? Dick regularly reminds you that he can always go and call Tim back when you act out? like the complex Damian has over Tim is unreal. Tim, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and had everything handed to him his whole life. he never had to struggle or fight for his place like Damian did. Damian has spent his whole life fighting and proving himself, and yet he can't ever seem to truly claw the mantle of Robin away from Tim. even when Tim lets it go, becomes Red Robin, they seem to share it. Tim can slip back into the role of Robin whenever someone like Dick or Bruce need him to, because *he's* the Robin who they need. he's the Robin who was able to find Bruce. he's the Robin that Ra's wants an heir out of. he's the Robin who even Jason respects. in Damian's eyes, everything Damian has fought tooth and nail for, was handed to Tim.

so of course he's going to react to Tim with violence and aggression, especially after finding out Tim has contingency plans for him. no matter how much Damian proves himself, he's never going to be enough, especially not to Tim. and so his deep refusal to see Tim as family, to acknowledge Tim's legacy is all driven by such an angry jealousy. Tim understands aspects of Bruce's legacy that Damian doesn't, like the need to sweet talk and play nice with the elites of Gotham, even if they're corrupt. they exemplify different aspects of Robin, and the aspects that Tim exemplifies are the aspects that Damian knows he'll never fully understand and therefore holds such a deep contempt for. he wants to fight criminals, not play nice with politicians. Tim understands the side of Gotham that's utterly foreign to Damian. if anything, he represents that side of Gotham, to Damian. a pretty little rich boy who's nothing but a know-it-all and not a real son of Bruce. he can't be a Wayne. he can't be Damian's family.

and all of that angry jealousy leading to unhealthy obsession turned a weird, angry crush from Damian is just my bread and butter. that is how DamiTim should be. to me. Damian obsessed over hating Tim Drake so much he accidentally ends up sort of in love with him and that only makes Damian angrier. because he can't prove everyone right by *also* liking Tim. he can't let Ra's win like that, because frankly why wouldn't Ra's be delighted by Damian and Tim getting together. and it builds and builds with angry passive aggression towards Tim that culminates in angry hate-fucking-that's-not-just-driven-by-hate. love and hate are always viewed as opposites in shipping and i think they're the same intense passion just in different directions. and for the best ships, they're very intertwined. what is DamiTim is not the peak of that. "i put so much of myself into hating you i had no choice but to fall in love with you somewhere along the way" core. love that bleeds into hate and hate that bleeds into love. "you make me so angry i regularly passively try to kill you but not with any real effort because who would i obsess over if you were actually gone" core. murder attempts as a form of courting. contingency plans to take each other out as a love language. they're unwell.

In order to turn a very embarrassing moment of my life into something funny have this stupid Timbern au:

The Drakes are alive so Tim is still on track for being the heir of D.I. but is interning at W.E. for the summer because Bruce offered a position

Bernard has been interning at W.E. as well, for volunteering hours

The both work in a small, newer branch of W.E. that focuses on cultivating more information about Gotham’s history

Bernard’s there because it's the most teen focused thing and Tim’s there because he wants to figure where exactly the Lazarus pit is under Gotham so he can mess with Ra’s

They are currently stationed at an old house that was made into a museum which is managed by Wayne Enterprises, but since most of it is a museum there are only a few rooms to actually work, however it being a teen thing it’s very much choose your own hours so that prevents too many people from being there at once

Tim, who doesn’t want someone to come in a see the fact that he’s already finished cataloging all of the 2023 Donations to the museum and is instead using the time to further research the numerous curses in Gotham and/or watch Demon Slayer, is very happy about this fact and only comes at either the earliest or latest times so he gets a room to himself and only has to pretend to be going through boxes when someone checks on him

Bernard immediately messes up Tim’s plan

He’s always there- morning, night, even when Tim changes up his schedule

And no matter how many how many empty rooms there might be he always finds Tim and sits with him, even the time Tim tried to hide in the attic under the guise of organizing a couple boxes up there

Being the paranoid idiot that he is Tim assume that Bernard is a from the League of Assassins and enacts a 46-step plan to figure out what he’s planning (read: stalks him) and in the course of it ends up falling in love

Meanwhile on Bernard’s side, the first week of the internship he walked into the room Tim was in and wanted to be friends with the cute boy

The reason that he kept finding Tim was that he was talking to Dick Grayson, his gymnastics instructor, and Dick had realized that the boy in question was his honorary little brother and told Bernard that “Timmy’s shy, you just have to break down his walls to get to know him” and tells him when Tim’s going to the museum

Dick is well aware of what Tim thinks the situation is because he’s the one Tim rants to, but he thinks it’s funny and will make for a great story to tell at their wedding
