so, this kind of turned into me messily jumping from one idea to the other because i couldn't stick to one theme...hope you enjoy, anyway, though!:

kate always opens the door for the people she cares about. she's a chivalrous gentleman at heart so she loves doing that,"i've got it," thing while she reaches for the door handle. it's also a protective instinct that becomes engraved in her mind once she fully commits to the superhero thing.

the SECOND she sees you shivering for whatever reason, she slips off her jacket/coat and wraps it around your shoulders. she doesn't care if you're not that cold or if you tell her she's being dramatic. she'll merely secure her jacket around you and bring you closer to her body to shield you from the chilly air.

kate's definitely the type to lie down in the middle of the living room when she's feeling tired or overwhelmed. you make her buy a nice rug to stop her from lying down on the cold ground all the time. her "brain breaks" always end up with a sleeping lucky keeping her pinned against the ground. [she loves him too much to push him off]

she loses her mind whenever you wear anything purple, especially if it's a shirt or hoodie of hers.

she's not controlling or possessive in any way but she can't deny the way her heart races when you wear the arrow-shaped necklace she bought you as a gift. she had thought it was silly, that you would make fun of her for spending far too much money on something insignificant. instead, you made her help you put it on and you've worn it every day since.

kate can't sit in chairs correctly. it doesn't matter where she is or what type of chair she's sitting in, she's going to do something weird and claim she's somehow comfortable.

she comes up with the most ridiculous nicknames for you and you can't even complain because she always looks way too proud of herself.

also, holding her hand when the two of you are walking somewhere is a must.

sure!!! she's been big on my spotify rotation lately so this was fun :) kate got the most attention w this one bc i just know she’s so into chappell but there's a lil bit for all of 'em. also established bishova by accident hello???

agatha knows who chappell is because she’s a tiktok lurker. calls her the twinkly little cowgirl. with a fond smile.

kate pretends she isn’t as big of a fan as she is because she’s trying this thing where she tamps down the stan behavior because it almost drove clint away. and because being a stan with manhattan penthouse money is detrimental to her allowance (which isn’t so much an allowance anymore as it is just … her money bc the feds have eleanor and kate has access to the accounts that haven’t been seized). it’s silly to try and pretend she doesn’t love the things she loves but it helps that she’s not actually very good at pretending. she knows the school nights ep like the back of her hand because she believes in entire discography supremacy. likes the vocal differences between then and now, likes to be able to listen to someone’s growth. learned the term comphet in a good luck, babe! tiktok comment section. will wear merch shirts to the pizzeria and listen to hot to go! loud enough that the sound bleeds out of her headphones for anyone who passes to hear. she’ll do the dance while she microwaves that pizza for breakfast the next morning. calls it her ymca. will scream-sing good luck, babe! will jump on her bed and put on a messy lil concert of that one, too. says it tickles her soul like a past life lover. and if you dig around in her closet you’ll find a purple rhinestoned cowgirl hat.

maya likes her lyrics, thinks they’re smart and witty. the songs she can feel the best via bass and vibration when played real loud are super graphic ultra modern girl, femininomenon, and naked in manhattan.

natasha likes most music. and most things. her background (red room, espionage, superheroing) calls for adaptability. assimilation. she learned a long time ago to take everything in stride. there are things she likes more than others, of course, but most things are generally fine for her. she’ll make it all work. in that same vein it’s kind of hard for music to be really special to her. she mostly hears chappell when kate throws parties. she and yelena are similar in that dancing probably won’t happen unless someone else drags her into it.

wanda likes some of her slower songs. picture you, kaleidoscope, coffee, casual. likes when they come on shuffle. will queue them up to listen to while she reads, cooks, or gardens. 

yelena won’t listen to chappell on her own. won’t listen to much of anything on her own if it isn’t something she used to listen to with alexei when she was little. she’s one of those people who does most things without a soundtrack. most things in silence. including working out, which kate says is serial killer behavior. but she likes when kate plays chappell. she’ll nod along, tap her foot, start to smile. sometimes she’ll ask kate to play “naked in the city” even though she knows that’s not what it’s called. she just likes the little unimpressed face kate makes when she gets things wrong on purpose. yelena doesn’t really dance but every once in a while she’ll let kate pull her around the kitchen in a half-assed pantomime of it. she’ll sway to slower songs. she’ll hum along. and she'll always slow dance with kate to love me anyway.

A/N: this can be read as platonic or romantic! Also, world diabetes day was last week, but here we are.

Kate Bishop:

Before you met, the food scene at Kate’s apartment was dismal

The only things she ever really kept on hand were boxed Mac and cheese, microwave popcorn, and chocolate bars

Now, (in addition to real food and snacks you can eat more regularly) Kate’s apartment is filled with all of your favorite carb-filled, high glycemic index snacks and drinks

When you go low, she’s immediately offering you everything under the sun

If your favorites are from abroad, she WILL order them, shipping costs be damned

If you’re having a super mild hypo, she’ll pop downstairs and grab you a slice of pizza

Kate Bishop is a bit of a hoverer

Constantly checking in to make sure your sugar levels aren’t going down further

She HATES waiting 15 minutes to see if you’re back above 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L)

Lowkey more anxious about it than you sometimes

Natasha is super observant (obviously, she’s a spy)

Other times will rummage through your bag and hand you a pack of gummies just as you’re about to tell her you feel low

She keeps little hard candies/gels hidden in the most random places for you

Once you were out and she pulled a candy from a pocket in her shirt you didn’t realize was there

Will never force you to do anything, but will give you her hardest stare if you don’t immediately treat your low (especially if you wear a continuous glucose monitor [cgm])

“I don’t even feel shaky, and you know this thing sometimes shows false lows,”

“I can tell you’re about to go low. Here, drink this.”

“Where were you hiding a juice pouch?!”

Maria Hill:

When she found out you were diabetic, Maria did a whole bunch of research, including on the signs of hypoglycemia and how to treat it

She has your lows down to a science

If you have a cgm, she definitely has the app on her phone so it tells her when you’re going low

If the cgm says you’re low, but you don’t feel the symptoms, she makes you check with the finger stick

Has things portioned so each serving has exactly 15 grams of carbs

Makes sure you eat a more substantial snack with protein in it once you’re back in range

Keeps a journal of the dates/times you go low and how effectively different treatments work for you

“I think you should start having an afternoon snack. I’ve noticed you have the most hypoglycemic incidents an hour or two before dinner.”

“Hmm, okay. But only if you take a break and have a snack with me.”

“If that’s what it takes, deal.”

Wanda Maximoff:

Wanda is an even bigger worrier than Kate

She’s lost so many people in her life, and she’ll be damned if she lets you die from something she can directly stop

She keeps a closer eye on your blood sugar than you do

Like Maria, if you have a cgm she has the app to track

Wanda makes sure EVERY alarm is turned on and at the highest volume

When you go out, she carries more snacks than you do

If you have glucagon, Wanda keeps a dose with her, even if you also have one on you

The instant she knows you’re low there is a candy in your hand (before you can even access your own stash)

“If that doesn’t do it, I have three juice boxes, two packs of fruit gummies, and about two dozen hard candies in my bag,”

“Geez, Wanda. That sounds heavy. Which one of us is diabetic again?”

“I just want to make sure you’re okay!”

“Sorry, I know. Thank you for caring so much about me.”

Carol Danvers: 

You go low while on Carol’s ship once, and she gives you juice from an alien planet and it’s the most amazing thing you’ve ever tasted

She finds out how much you like it and goes back to the planet just to buy it for you so she always has some on her ship

Forget a phone app, Carol has low glucose alerts hooked up to all of her tech no matter what technology you use

She somehow managed to get your finger stick connected to her suit and her ship

If she happens to be off-world and she gets an alert about you going low, she stops what she’s doing to text you

But if she’s “close,” no matter where she is on Earth (or near it) when you go low she will use her super speed to get to you, even if you assure her your fine

“Carol, you really didn’t have to leave your meeting with Fury for this. I have my own snacks.”

“I know, but I’m planetside and I have that juice you like.”

“Thanks for always taking care of me.”

“Of course, I’ll always be here when you need me.”

so many at any given time, lovely anon. i don't know if you had something specific in mind but i'm gonna leave a few of my current/favorite headcanons here:

kate is INCREDIBLY forgetful. she doesn't do it on purpose and she hates it but there are way too many things going on inside her brain at one time for her to focus on the mundane things she has to do like replace a glass she broke or buy a new pair of boots.

she definitely puts up sticky notes EVERYWHERE. on the bathroom mirror, on the fridge, on her bedroom door and she still manages to forget things.

it doesn't really bother her until she starts dating you and she keeps forgetting planned dinners and important dates. you never hold it against her which just makes her feel even worse. so, you take over for her.

you replace the old, worn-down, sticky notes with your own. they're a ridiculous pastel color that looks more ghostly than purple but something about the change in handwriting seems to help her. [or maybe it's just the fact that you went out of your way to do something nice for her]

speaking of her bad habits, she's touch-starved as hell.

it's not like her mom has ever been the warmest of people and she's definitely never gone out of her way to get the affection she so secretly craves so she just writes the need off and tells herself physical touch just isn't her thing...except it is.

it's such a subtle, comforting thing that she doesn't even realize it. she just knows she loves holding your hand and snuggling up with you on the couch while you watch some trashy movie.

you never question her about it but you know deep down, she needs the affection more than she lets on. something that becomes incredibly obvious after she comes home from a mission gone wrong and immediately collapses into your arms. she's tired and bruised and so done and yet she holds onto you for hours like you're her personal charger.

LASTLY, she has a lot of trouble sleeping sometimes [mainly due to nightmares and worries but also just her restlessness] so the two of you get into the habit of making tea and sitting out on the fire escape. [until she inevitably falls asleep with her head on your shoulder and you're forced to stay outside in the cold because she just looks too darn cute to move.]

When you guys were younger, you used to play hide and seek all around the massive penthouse.

You would've been there right next to Kate when the battle of nEW York happened. And ever since then she's hated to leave you out if her site.

Which was especially hard when she went off to college.

^but she would make sure you guys texted or called or video chatted every day while she's away.

You'd get annoyed with her protectiveness of wanting to always know where you are - hence you calling her 'Mom numbero dos' whenever she really annoys you.

She'd try to keep you out of the Ronan, Maya, and tracksuit business for as long as she could, but you found out spectacularly fast from her suspiciousness.

Which that would end up with you pestering her until she introduces you to Clint.

And that interaction by itself would be a whole scene in your guys' aunt's condo.

You'd tell Clint embarrassing stories about Kate's obsession with him since you guys were kids.

^Which she would throw anything in front of her at you to make you shut up and she would blush like crazy.

When you eventually meet Yelena, you'd take a big liking to her and Kate would be super skeptical about your guys' friendship. Considering the whole her being a trained assassin thing and you being only sixteen.

She would be teaching you how to drive in the city but after ten minutes make you pull over from you honking at a taxi, calling the driver 'jackass' as loud as you could. 'Okay, no more of this for you today' She would say and make you switch sides with her.

Clint and Yelena would also become super protective of you (making you roll your eyes) - it's even worse once the two of them sort of make up after the big fight at Rockefeller skating rink.

Whenever you and Kate have down time, you guys have movie nights, snuggled up on the couch with blankets and stuffing your faces with junk food.

Kate would try her hardest to not let you fight in any of the fights that happen in the city. Especially if they are clearly dangerous.

You would play with her bow and arrows around the house and may or may not have broken more than a few vases. And tried to clean them up before anyone notices.

She would sometimes go to extreme lengths and lock you in a closet when you wouldn't back down from trying to come along to fight the bad guys.

And ohhhhh god you’ve got me thinking about short hair too so here we go

-Kate is absolutely thriving after her top surgery of course, there’s no question there. But like I’ve mentioned before, she doesn’t always vibe with the long hair. She mentions cutting her hair so much that Yelena eventually just sits her down and asks if she wants help chopping it.

-they do a double haircut date one day, and Natasha helps chop Yelena’s hair first. (Thunderbolts cut) That immensely helps Kate’s anxiety around the whole thing, as does Natasha’s reminder that hair grows back.

-They start by just trimming Kate’s hair to her collarbones/shoulders (imagine Hailee’s cut) and Kate is getting more and more excited as they go. They take a few pictures and then give her an undercut, which she also loves, but now she’s ready to just absolutely go for it. With the hair that’s left, they trim it up with layers to make it short and fluffy, and it’s safe to say that Kate ADORES it.

-the gender euphoria absolutely fucking skyrockets, and Yelena is of course a fan. The sex is insane, I just gotta say.

-I’ve talked about it before but Kate loves to walk around shirtless, and now she spends quite a bite just flexing and admiring herself in the mirror. Normally Yelena would tease her about it, but she loves how happy Kate looks and just kinda watches her adoringly.

HCs for Yelena being a supportive partner to the very ADHD Kate?

(ADHD Kate Bishop is my favourite thing and I love supportive girlfriends)

So! I think this has a lot of growing pains-Kate is hyperactive ADHD and Yelena is inattentive adhd and sometimes those competing access needs really develop into an argument.

In terms of active support? Yelena always has fidget toys on hand. Kate picks at her cuticles and bites her nails (which drives Yelena up a wall) so Yelena makes sure there are distractions on hand. She's also the one who manages Kate's meds, because Kate will forget to even go pick the damn things up. Yelena is a list girlie which Kate doesn't really get. Yelena also makes a concerted effort to at least enjoy Kate's hyperfixations (as long as they don't contain active triggers). She might not LOVE Rupaul's Drag Race, but she grows to enjoy it and watch it with Kate.

Yelena gets overwhelmed and overstimulated easier than Kate, and needs alone time to decompress. Kate is MUCH more consistently outgoing, and it takes them some time to figure out boundaries when it comes to Yelena needing a break.
