Hello! Just wanted to ask for a headcannon of Ninjago characters (the one you usually do) x unnaffectionate reader? It's not like they're mean it's just that affection isn't a big part in their life and they usually forget about it. And then one day reader is like 'oh shit maybe this makes my idiot feel bad' so they try to make up for it by being super affectionate for a day and beginning to show subtle signs of affection more regularly?

he’s very affectionate, so he’ll eventually start getting hurt that you don’t return his advances as much

he understands not wanting to do it in public, but in private is where it hurts him

one day, he stops trying and doesn’t seem quite like himself

this is what makes you realize that he’s hurt

after taking some time to think about it, you make it a point to show even a little bit of affection

so, one day when he gets home from a mission, you shyly take his hand in yours before asking him about his mission

he understands how much it means coming from you, and he appreciates the sentiment

he asks you what changed, and you quietly admit that you should have compromised more with him, seeing as how he respects your wish for no pda and apologize

then, you press a soft kiss to his lips and vow to gradually increase the affectionate as you grow more comfortable

jay

jay would be a little more understanding; he gets not wanting to be touched as he experiences this himself sometimes

so he’s certainly more patient with you

but there are times when he starts feeling especially sensitive about it, and it makes him start overthinking

over the course of a few days, he starts gradually acting different

at first, it’s him wondering if he’s just overreacting

but as it progresses, he starts hurting and worrying - did he do something to make you mad? is he just misreading the situation?

eventually, he goes to cole about this; cole suggests that he just ask you

so, jay works up to the courage to and does

this leads to a productive conversation, and you agree to start showing more affection as you feel comfortable with it

he hides it well, but this man is touch starved

desperately wants to show his affection, but quickly gets that it isn’t your thing

initially pushes his hurt away, thinking that maybe you just need time

quietly tries to figure out why you’re not keen on affection, but doesn’t get too far

he tries to ignore it; he’ll take his frustrations out on the punching bag or on enemies

but there comes a point one night where it all comes bubbling up

the two of you are alone after a mission one night, and you’re patching up some of his injuries

cole is exhausted and in pain

he can’t help it - he tears up

he just wants a hug, or for you to hold his hand and stay with him a little longer. he just needs something

but all he gets is a distant expression - one that opens an old wound in his heart. and he can’t hide it any longer, so he breaks down

alarmed, you immediately sit down with him and ask him what’s wrong

so, he softly professes his hurt to you

once he’s done, you apologize and give him a hug, promising that you’ll try to do better for him

you end up staying with him for the rest of the night, holding him until he falls asleep <3

he doesn’t really mind initially - he doesn’t know much about relationships anyway, so for a while it works

but as the relationship progresses, he observes that other couples - both in real life and in pop culture - are more touchy than the two of you are.

he asks you why this is - he’s not necessarily hurt, but he wants to understand why you two aren’t affectionate. it makes him think he might be doing something wrong

after explaining that all couples are different, and that you’re just not a very affectionate person, he understands

the two of you continue to talk about it, and after a while, you decide to try small things together - like holding hands or light hugging as you both feel comfortable

he is so shy when it comes to affection at first

he’s never been in a serious relationship before, so it takes him some time to warm up to the idea

when he realizes you aren’t very affectionate, he has to rethink the situation

he’s stuck between wanting to respect your boundaries but also wanting to show/receive affection

will 100% go to the smith siblings for advice

once he does, he asks you about it one night

after talking about it for a bit, you agree to try some small gestures of affection out together :)

might go to her brother or cole for advice

not really sure what to do initially; might not even realize that he wants affection

stays silent for a while. probably sulks a lot but shakes it off well most days

he ends up thinking he’s making a big deal out of nothing, so he doesn’t say anything about how he’s feeling

you notice that something’s off with him when starts becoming more distant

after trying a few different things, you end up just sitting beside him one day and taking his hand, quietly asking him if it was something you did

he admits he isn’t sure why he’s upset, but admits your touch is comforting

Timeskip Nekoma HC dump

The restaurant Fukunaga works at part-time is a hibachi grill, whenever the team does a group meet up they all go together and he gives them the full show. They cheer and whoop as if they're in an actual stadium, no other group pops off for the onion volcano quite like them. Kuroo tries to explain the science behind all the tricks but Yaku and Tora shut him up fast ("Oh my god stop talking, you’re ruining the meat with all that yapping")

Kenma uses his friends for stream content whenever they’re in town. Chat is constantly baffled at how many celebrities he went to high school with— a model, a comedian, several pro volleyball players, a high ranking member of the JVA?? Its all fun and games until they start exposing Kenma’s high school secrets, Kuroo stoops so low as to pull out the childhood photos and gets kicked out. Tora's a pretty regular guest and chat's favorite punching bag (to be fair he's really fun to bully with how easily provoked he is). Ironically some of chat's favorite guests are two of the non famous ones— Kai because he's super chill and Inuoka cause he has such contagious energy

Whenever any of them see one of Lev's billboards or magazine covers in the wild they take a picture with it and send it in the group chat. When they're out with him in person and see one they love making a big deal about it to embarrass him but this only feeds his growing ego

Kuroo's constantly hooking his friends up with free volleyball tickets and flying them out when something cool is going on, same with Lev/Fukunaga when they have shows and Kenma with conventions. Inuoka, Teshiro, and Kai's bosses are always like "How can you afford so many front-row tickets and business-class flights?!" and they're just like "friends are loaded."

Fukunaga makes more than enough from his comedy gigs but he keeps working his restaurant job because it gives him the best stories. The amount of insane customers he gets in a single night is enough to fuel entire shows, plus his boss is chill and lets him take home leftovers ingredients (which he uses to cook dinner for himself and Tora after he gets off practice)

Inuoka is THE babysitter, not just for the Nekoma alums but for anyone who remembers him from hs. He's great with kids, especially young ones cause he has enough energy to keep up, and the volleyball parents love that he practices with them. In addition, a lot of the students Teshiro and Inuoka work with are avid Kodzuken fans so the two of them make sure to snag a bunch of autographs every time they visit. One time for fun Kenma drops by unanncounced and the kids flip their shit

Theory/possible AU on Kai in the neverspace

What if either Nya, Wyldfyre (those two were visibly the most/only ones affected by Kais dissapearing) and the others, or even Kai and Bonzle themselve somehow do manage to open a new gate. So Kai and Bonzle manage to get back to the back merged worlds.

But just like back in s11 with the never realm it turns out that time passes faster there, compared to the merged worlds. So for everyone else a few weeks or months passed when they finally manage to open a portal, but for Kai it's been YEARS. (Preferably at least 10 in my opinion.) The emotional drama would be perfect. Especially cause y'know, Kai isn't a nindroid like Zane and doesn't have any memory loss. The effects of that on him would be really interesting to see.

Though you know. I don't really think they're gonna pull that of. The reason that Zane usually gets hit with the heaviest violence, has so many deaths and so on is cause he's a nindroid and it's a kids show at the end of the day. They can "fix" a nindroid/robot more easily. If Zane loses an arm, he can just put it back on or get a new one without a problem, if a human/biological humanoid loses an arm in the show it's gone. They can get a prosthetic maybe, but their arm is gone, they have trauma and physical pain from it.

So yeah, my theory isn't that likely cause Kai might be the emotinal but not physical punching bag of the writers. It's very unlikely that they would significantly age up just one of the og characters and not the others. I can still dream and we have the world of fanfiction on our side. (Ideas for an AU name please for the case I get more ideas)

It's the next morning in the dojo, the ninjas already have breakfast then off to training, sorrow has gotten better after he meet only two people but expect for one

Cole, the strongest out of one but he doesn't wanna bother him so he will focus on his training

Sorrow was punching the dummy bag, which he got strong then Cole saw him punching the bag, he chuckled to himself and walked to him

Cole: hey man....if you don't know my name again...I'm Cole....

Sorrow stopped then looked at Cole, then got all shy and fidgeting his hands

Sorrow: oh...uhm...hey....I'm..uhm..sorrow....

Sorrow whispered, too shy to speak up,.Cole smiles softly and leans closer to him which he didn't catch that

Cole: I'm sorry...what was that?....

Cole barely a whisper to, sorrow fidgeting his hair and look down to the ground, he gulped shallow and hoping if he can speak a bit clearer

Sorrow: it's sorrow....

Said in a high pitched whispered, Cole nodded and patted his shoulder

He smiles softly to sorrow then sorrow nodded, still remaining quiet, Cole trying to lighten up the mood so sorrow can be comfortable around him since he's comfortable with Zane and Jay

Cole: well...I do have a big appetite for dessert, especially cake! Oh! That's reminded me...Hey Zane! Do you have time for making a chocolate cake after training! I'm craving for it! Man!

He smiles widely at Zane, sorrow couldn't help to chuckle a bit, a guy who is strong but has an appetite for dessert which sounds silly for sorrow

Cole heard him chuckles which he was happy

Cole: heheheh...yeah...I absolutely love cake! I do have a sweet tooth for sweets

Sorrow nodded and felt comfortable around him, showing him his soft side, he still laughing softly

Sorrow: hehehe,maybe I should tell you my favorite thing to eat...I do have an appetite for spicy food, huge fan

Cole put his hands on his hips, Cole and Sorrow were chatting about food and other stuff then they got interrupted by jay

Jay: uh guys! It's not food time! Is training time! We gotta impress Sensei Wu so we can finally get our golden weapons! I hope mine would be awesome!!!

High pitched shouted from the master of lighting, sorrow laughed softly instead of flinched or being nervous

Sorrow: right! And Cole...thanks for talking to me..and became my friend, I really appreciate it

He smiles softly to Cole, Cole nodded and finally got hisself a friend

Cole: hey, no problem man, happy to be your strongest friend

Cole and sorrow chuckles then jay look at them, very closely

Jay: uhh...is it just me or you guys look like twins? Because you two kinda act and look the same

Cole and sorrow look each other confused, then Cole look back at jay

Chapter 2 pt 1

A new day arises and a new lesson for Lloyd begins. Like always I can mostly just watch and learn from what I've seen. Lloyd is making his third attempt at making the light bulb glow but it fails leaving him frustrated with the results blaming the ninja for pressuring him. I sighed, getting my own broom and helped clean the mess seeing Lloyd is using his broom to beat the crap out of a punching bag and even broke the broom. I used this time to think. What if I had elemental powers like Lloyd or maybe my own cool ability besides invisibly. I know it's silly though but maybe I can just dream of it. "Oh Angela, want to come with me to darkly." Lloyd asked "umm sure why asked" I questioned "i was invited back for a ceremony and I want to show them who's helped me through my change" he explained "sure. But i don't have anything good to wear for such occasions" I said, then Wu came up and handed me a box "well you'll never know what would turn up " he said. I opened the box to see a purple ninja suit. I smiled as stars formed in my eyes "Seriously!" I asked and he just nodded "okokokok. I'll be right back" I said as I zoomed to the closest changing room. I changed into my purple ninja suit which looked almost identical to Lloyd's if it wasn't for the ninjago symbol for serpent in the back. And I had only one sleeve. I stood in the mirror to admire the design. It was also long enough to cover most of my tail. I do have a purple hood which was nice and a scarf to cover my mouth. While I was there I took off what remains of my shed skin from last time and my rosettes were more reflective than last time and my purple scales grew darker. After checking myself out I exit to let them see my new look. "Wow you look so cool" Lloyd said as he came up to me "i didn't know you had a pattern and i forgot your hair was short" Lloyd spoke "you look like a proper ninja" cole said as everyone agrees. This painted a smile on my face. Although we could stay for days discussing my new look we had to go. Me ,Cole, Zane, Jay, Kai, and Lloyd rode on the dragon to darkly but it was a bumpy ride as Lloyd was riding the dragon but hey we got here in one piece. But when we entered I was left with an unsettling feeling "Lloyd" a voice spoke "uh brad" Lloyd questioned "you came!so good to see you!" Brad said as he gave Lloyd a hug "it is ? You put fire ants in my bed" Lloyd said which made me wide eyed for a second then I forgot it was Darkly’s school for bad boys. "And you must be the ninja" Brad said "guys meet Brad Tudabone" Lloyd introduced "such a huge fan " Brad replied. He offered to lead us to the principal's office and the more we go in the school the more suspicious it becomes. Especially when I don't see a single teacher here "Principal noble. Lloyd the ninja are here for the ceremony" Brad exclaimed where the principal replied for us to wait. Brad ends up leaving us. We were permitted to enter but instead of the ninja it was some kid named Gene then before anything else could happen I was hit in the end by a sack knocking me out. I wake up tied up to a chair in a separate room. There's nobody around, not even the ninja. Luckily I was part snake so I could slither out. Now I need to get out. Luckily the door had glass so I broke it. Only to be grabbed and tossed out by… Jay? "We found the girl now to destroy the ninja" evil zane said as evil cole grabbed a hold of me "LET HER GO" i heard kai yelled. I was dropped on the spot so they could battle the ninja. I slithered off to the principal's office to see everyone sewing "need some help" I asked. With my assistance it made the sewing process easier so we can aid the real ninja. We head towards the battle and disrupt the evil ninja enough to land a hit. I sighed but we got ourselves a real celebration and cake.

I'm only at s11 please don't spoil <3

Cole: My current fav, and not JUST because of the big as hammer. He's such a fun character to me, especially after the changes in s8 where he stopped just being earth Kai, and he has SO much potential that I really hope the writers get into in future seasons. Also I love his design in s8-10. (Starting liking him during Possession, will forever draw him with the ghost-scar thing <3) (So happy that you can see it when he does the lava arms thing. Speaking of. I LOVE THE LAVA ARMS THING IT LOOKS SO COOL)

Kai: He just has so much going on, since the beginning of the show, and I LOVE that. His relationship with Lloyd is so interesting to me, I loved how much they explored his conflicting feelings regarding him in the early seasons. He also has a great design and a LOVELY voice actor, he's a great character to explore some of the more complex themes shown in the show through. He's also pretty funny to me.

Pixal: I think what mostly drew me to Pixal was the robot appeal which I always fall for, but as the show went on I started really loving her character. I didn't like all the massive gaps in the show where she barely appeared, but they somewhat make up for it by making her ABSOLUTELY AMAZING as samurai X. She single-handedly beat up that dead-realm tentancle monster that the ninja couldn't beat together and I love her for that. Also Pixane is extremely cute.

Zane: The robot appeal once again. I love robot characters. It's probably the tism doing that. Zane is obviously one of the show's favourites (or fav punching bag, at least) so there's no shortage of fun things with him. I honestly think Pixal ended up surpassing him fav-ness recently, probably because she's the only character that has never been kind of annoying to me, but I still adore Zane. One day I'll learn to draw his stupid hair.

Special mention is Nya, who I love just as much as the others up here but forgot to add </3 This is getting a bit long anyway

been thinking abt this a lot so i'll dump it here. very self-indulgent n quite long.

I've been getting dumber, head feeling dizzy from morning to night. bruises keep appearing all over my arms and legs from the amount of times i keep on stumbling against furniture. Luckily my roomate is nice enough to look out for me, they're a little weird but still pay so much attention to me. Giving me water, helping me with the cooking, they even cover shifts for me! always having me at the top of my head, especially when i've been so drowsy lately. One day however i wake up tied to the dinner room's chair, confused about the situation i ask my roomie what's wrong, and why i've been so los in thought and so, so numb. They confess to me between laughs and chuckles that they've been spiking everything, my food, my drinks. Even some pills they'd offer me were actually to continue numbing my brain and body. "I had to, you're too stupid to be on your own. To do anything. Don't complain about me doing you a huge favour." I'm too dizzy to panic, looking at them as they hold on to the back of my hair, focing me to look up at them. I've forgotten how violent my roomie would get with me anytime i messed their food or stumbled against something, treating me like a useless canine. My breathing picks up slowly as their hand slides down from my chest, to my gut and then under my pants and undies, the digits warm against my clit. "I'll take care of you from now on.. i have to, it's my responsability. Don't think about moving and stay fucking quiet, alright?" It's not like i can scream, the corners blurring and their voice blending with the nothingness inside my head. My brain feels like mush, nice and helpless. But my body pleads and my ragged voice creates sounds so pitifull that it steals a few sadistic laughs from my roomate. "Good. Nice, still and wet like i've always thought. What a great doll i've caught." Their fingers finally slide in and pump, my state almost limp if it wasn't for the ocational move of my thighs. The bottom of my stomach fills with fear and need, the minutes passing by as if nothing matters while the slick sound of my cunt squelching around their fingers filled the dinning room. "Can't wait to move you to my bedroom, it was about time i had a new stress-free doll. Just don't scream when i start adding some pretty little bruises around your torso, 'kay? Your new job will be being my dick-sucking punching bag." It comes off as pridefull, as if there had never been any remorse in anything they did. I come loose all over their palm, my pelvis reaching forward as i twitched. "You're gonna be so much fun, roomie."

The rhythmic thud of fists meeting leather echoed in the dimly lit gym. Trixie stood in front of the heavy punching bag, her brow furrowed in fierce concentration. With every hit, the bag swayed, responding to the power she packed into her jabs and crosses. This time, her knuckles were taped properly.

The door to the studio opened to reveal Miguel, who smiled as Trixie wiped sweat from her forehead. “Hey, uh, did my brother let you in?” She asked, taking a break from beating the bag and opting for a sip of her water.

“Yeah.” He nodded, “Told me you were down here so I thought I’d just… Hangout with you?”

The blue haired girl looked at him before shrugging, “Alright, but I’m mostly just focused on karate right now.” She said and Miguel nodded, spotting the ballet shoes that were on the ground.

“Did you start ballet again?” He asked as Trixie threw a round-house kick to the punching bag.

“Yeah, I guess I just had a sudden urge to dance or something.” She said, jumping into a spin hook kick. Miguel watched in admiration and Trixie threw another jab to the punching bag.

“Do you usually take out your feelings on this poor thing?” Miguel asked, placing a hand on top of the punching bag, stopping Trixie from beating the object anymore then she already did.

Trixie ran a hand through her hair with a guilty smile, “Not all the time, I usually just spill it out during therapy like a normal person.” She shrugged, “That and Cobra Kai, of course.”

Miguel’s smile slightly faded at the mention of the infamous karate dojo. “About that… Would you ever quit Cobra Kai?” He asked her and Trixie bit the inside of her cheek with a look of disappointment.

“I’m not like that, I’m not violent or angry. Cobra Kai’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me and quitting Cobra Kai would prove that I’m no better than everyone else there.” Trixie frowned, crossing her arms. “I’m not a quitter.”

“You don’t have to prove anything to anyone, especially Cobra Kai. You deserve a different dojo!” Miguel exclaimed, “Me and Sensei are starting a new dojo, Eagle Fang Karate. You should join.”

Trixie hesitated before, pushing Miguel’s arm off of the punching bag. “I dunno, Miguel. I’ll… I’m gonna stay with Cobra Kai, but I’ll let you know if I change my mind.” She said quietly, sending a harsh right hook to the punching bag. Miguel swallowed, pursing his lips in disdain,

Hawk, Kyler and Tory as well as two others stood in the woods, drinking beer as they spoke. "Ok, we've got one shot at this. Quick, in and out, we'll be good." Hawk told them. "Know what you gotta do?" He asked Kyler.

 "Hell yeah. Let's go." The boy replied. Trixie rolled her eyes, she couldn’t believe she was doing this. To be honest, she didn’t really care as long as they weren’t caught but she felt as if she knew Tory knew that she didn’t like doing shit like this.

 "All right, sweet." Hawk said. Robby was walking up to the group of five. 

"Someone took their sweet ass time." Tory said when she saw Robby. The boy spared a glance to Trixie, who gave him a small smile. He smiled back as best as he could.

"You invited him?" Hawk asked with narrowed eyes. 

Tory looked at Hawk, unfazed. "I did. Why? You got a problem with that?" 

Kyler reached over and grabbed another can of beer. "Here you go, Keene." He held it to him. 

"I'm good." Robby said with a shake of his head. 

Hawk huffed a small laugh. "What, you can't handle a sip of beer like Trixie?" He asked, making the others around them laugh. Trixie rolled her eyes.

"No, I just don't need to drink to pretend to be cool." Robby said without missing a beat, “And I’m pretty sure you know that Trixie’s not lightweight.”

Hawk took a step towards Robby. "Yeah, that's funny." His voice was low and threatening. 

"All right. Let's get going." Tory said before anything could happen. Tory held the cut part of the gate open as the others slipped through. She looked back at Robby who was lagging behind. He looked skeptical. "Don't worry. It's not going to violate your probation. You got outta juvie, not Sing Sing." She said walking over. 

Robby smiled. "You resorting towards peer pressure?" He asked in a teasing tone. She shrugged.

 "Yeah, it's kinda my thing." Tory then turned and went through the gate.

Robby turned to Trixie, “I like the hair.” He said awkwardly. Trixie turned to Robby with a blank stare before breaking into a small smile.

“Thanks. I’m glad you got rid of the long hair, although now I suppose I’ll have to stop calling you Willy Wonka?” Trixie asked and Robby shook his head with a chuckle.

“I dunno, it depends.” He said and the two of them followed the rest. Trixie could hear children laughing as the Zoo sign came into view.

"The zoo? Why do we have to sneak in?" Robby asked with some confusion in his voice. 

"You'll see." Tory said simply. 

Hawk nods his head off to the side. "C’mon, this way." He said as he started to lead the group. Hawk and the group walked into one of the buildings. A man speaking over the intercom.

Trixie rolled her eyes, “I don’t understand why we’re breaking in while you guys are drunk.” She scoffed.

“Oh, please, like you could talk, light weight.” A boy snorted.

“I’m pretty sure I could beat you in a drinking game, asshole.” Trixie huffed under her breath.

 "Right, there's two cameras over there. The guard goes on break once every hour. We have less than five minutes." Hawk told them in a hushed voice that was just loud enough for everyone to hear. 

"Okay." Kyler said with a nod. 

Robby looked over at Tory. "Five minutes to do what?" He asked curiously.

 "We're getting a little gift for Sensei." She smiled at him. They were walking down a hall of reptiles, stopping in front if the Chinese Cobra. 

Trixie watched as it coiled around the faux branch and how it stuck out its tongue, as if saying ‘You guys can’t get me!’. They walked through a door labeled staff only and two boys waiting outside as a guard. 

Hawk unzipped his bag and pulled out a burlap sack, he looked over at Kyler. "You got the snake pool?" He asked. 

Kyler looked around before sighing. "Oh, shit! Snake pole, right." 

"I orchestrated this entire plan and you didn't bring the one thing you were in charge of?" Hawk looked at him in disbelief. 

"I forgot, ok? I've got a lot on my mind right now. If I don't pass trig this semester, my dad's gonna shit in my mouth." He said firmly. Hawk gave him an odd look as Trixie snorted.

 "Just reach in and grab the snake!" Tory said in a low hiss of a voice. 

"Are you insane? I'm not sticking my hand in there!" He said. 

Suddenly a man's voice called from down the hall. "Hey! Who's in there?" 

"Shit!" Hawk cursed, looking at the group. 

"We gotta go, let's go." Kyler said, pushing past Robby and Tory. Hawk followed behind him then Tory. Robby and Trixie stayed in the hall, looking down the hall.

As they all filed outside, Hawk yelled as he hit his arm, "What the hell, dumbass?!"

"Dude! At least I brought beer." Kyler said in a bored tone. 

"We failed the mission cause of you!" Hawk said angrily. The group was unaware that Robby and Trixie were finally joining them. 

"Who said we failed?" Robby asked, holding up the bag which not admitted a hissing sound. Trixie grinned.

"No way!" Tory said in shock, a smile on her face. "You got it? Unreal." 

Robby looked over at her with a smile and opened the bag, showing off the snake. “Give it up for Trixie who distracted the guard.” He turned to Trixie, who gave a smile.

Everyone cheered for him except for Hawk, who seemed to still hold a grudge against Robby. Honestly, Trixie understood. She was so angry at Robby, so angry at him for doing what he did to Miguel. But unlike a Cobra Kai, she talked to her therapist about it.

At Cobra Kai, Robby put the snake into the cage, holding it by the head. "Well done. I'm impressed. You showed fearlessness and leadership. And those are the qualities you neee to be a champion." Kreese said as he walked down the line before stopping in front of Robby putting his hand on his shoulder. 

"Good job. You're what cobra kai has been looking for. Do you see what you can accomplish when you work together? Alliances are important. For us and our enemy, because you better believe that they are making alliances too." He said as he stopped in front of Tory. Robby looked over at her. 

"What alliances?" She asked the older man. 

"Oh, you didn't hear? Uh, Diaz and that Larusso girl, yeah, they're working together. Yeah man they helped save the All Valley. They gave quite a speech. They make a pretty good team."

Tory and Robby shared a look. A mix of shock, hurt, and slight anger. Tory turned to look at Trixie, who was nervously biting the inside of her cheek. Tory mouthed ‘Are you okay?’ to her and Trixie nodded with a tight smile.

‘You should trust Miguel and you and Sam aren’t on bad terms anymore… You can’t be jealous of their relationship when Miguel’s trying to make amends with you. Just try to trust them…’

 "Well, it's getting pretty late. Dismissed." Kreese said.

“IIIIII DONT WANT ALOT FOoOR CHRISTMaAs!” Camille sang loudly with Dory in her arms as Patrick pulled out a tray of cookies.

Trixie chuckled as she took a cookie from one of the older batches Patrick made previously before stashing a few of them in a bag for Miguel and a few of her other friends. “Thanks for making these for me, Trick.” She said and Patrick nodded.

“As long as it gets me points for friends, I’m good. Can’t have any of them hating me, can I?” Trick grinned and Trixie rolled her eyes.

“MOoOORE THAN YOU COULD EVER KNOWW! mAKE MY WISH COME TRuUUuUeeEe!!!” Camille screeched the lyrics as Dory meowed in sync.. “ALLLL IiIIi WANT FOR CHRISTMASSS… IiIiSSsS YOUUUUUU!”

“Woooh!” Trixie cheered from her spot at the table, clapping loudly as the cheery Mariah Carey music played through the apartment.

Usually, they’d have Christmas karaoke on Christmas night. Usually it was Camille singing and Trixie playing the background vocals while Trick just clapped along. Although on special occasions he’d be able to sing a few Mariah Carey songs as well.

Trixie smiled fondly at Camille, who belted out the lyrics to ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ as passionately as she could. The blue haired girl snickered at Dory, who looked miserable in Camille’s arms, before reaching for a cookie.

“Hey! Those are for Santa.” Trick slapped her hand away before she could take more. Trixie rolled her eyes and Camille shot her head up with a gasp.

“TRIXIEEEEE!!” She yelled, “Santa’s not gonna give me presents if he doesn’t have the exact amount of cookies! ThErE hÆs To bE sIxTeEn ExÆcTtTtT!” She whined and Trixie turned to Trick for help.

Trick placed a cookie on the plate, “Go before she murders you.” He whispered to Trixie, who nodded and slipped out of the door as Trick distracted her little sister.

“Oh! Hey, Trixie.” Miguel waved and Trixie waved back. “Did your brother make those?”

“Hm? Oh, yes! They’re… Actually for you. I figured that I’d be on the nice list for Christmas this year.” Trixie handed him a bag full of cookies, chocolate ice cream, and a bunch of other stuff. “Happy early Christmas.”

“I honestly think that you’re on the nice list all the time.” He said with a raised eyebrow and a smile before taking out a box from his pocket, “It’s funny because I actually was going to give you a gift too.”

Trixie felt butterflies in her stomach and her smile widened. “Thank you.” She took the box from his hand and opened it to reveal a silver necklace

It was similar to the silver one she used to wear, but had her birthstone as the pendant. A sapphire… Trixie’s heart soared as high as it could and her brain melted at the sight of the necklace. She looked up to see Miguel nervously standing in front of her.

‘You're a horrible person for being so naive into thinking that he’d leave you heartbroken again. Why would you ever think that? How could you be jealous when their relationship ended so long ago?’

“I-I know what you’re thinking, and no, I’m-I’m not trying to buy your favor back. This was going to be a present for your birthday but… Um, I sort of missed it when I was in that coma.” Miguel said as he rubbed the back of his neck, “A-anyways, do you… Like it?”

Trixie looked at Miguel with a grin, “It’s beautiful… Thank you.” She said softly, “How much did this cost exactly?”

“Oh! Uh, just…  250 dollars…” Miguel muttered and Trixie widened her eyes.

“250 DOLLARS?!” Trixie exclaimed with wide eyes, “Oh my god, I basically robbed you!” She said, burying her face in her hands as Miguel laughed.

“No, wait, wait! It’s your gift, you deserve the best!” Miguel smiled. Trixie groaned, looking back at him.

“I feel bad, I mean most of the stuff I got you I wasn’t sure you’d like and this is…” Trixie took a deep breath, meeting his gaze with a small smile. “It’s pretty… Thank you.”

Miguel’s breath hitched. She didn’t have to look at him like that, if she kept it up he was sure he’d explode on the spot. He cleared his throat, “Yeah, it’s, uh, no problem. Thanks for the present by the way.”

Trixie nodded, the silence around them awkward. “Yeah, don’t mention it.” She said, “If you do, Sam might just get jealous that she didn’t get Patrick’s cookies before you.”

Miguel chuckled and started to head back inside before calling out to her, “You’re going to Sam’s party, right?” He asked and Trixie gave him a thumbs up.

“I’ll see you there, Diaz!” She called from inside the house. Miguel watched her go inside with a pounding heart and a warm face before heading inside as well.

What Happened There?

Chap. 3: Family

Gordon didn't even question how he found the hospital.

The man's daughter was the best at her job right now. Given the things his sister did, and the fact that her mentor was her father... No, he wouldn't question it.

But really, how did he know she is in this hospital?

Of course, this question was asked of him when he arrived.

He said he had sources.

And he told Scott not to feel sorry for not contacting him.

And he apologized. For not coming sooner. Because he wasn't sure if it was because of him.

As in their childhood, his enemies were still a threat to them. But especially Kayo. That's why she had come to the Island.

And that's why he had left them after their father's accident.

At that time, only they knew what Kayo had been through. She acted fine at first, but it was definitely not working.

Finally, Virgil and himself found her destroying the punching bag.

Kyrano was a good man at heart, but he didn't think he could forgive him for that.

They were still in the same place waiting for a doctor, a nurse, or anyone else to show up.

Frankly, Gordon had forgotten how long they had been here.

Still, if no one was coming out, his sister was still alive.

And she will be fine.

Maybe he should get some air. And coffee.

He started walking towards the elevator, muttering something about getting air and coffee.

One of the guards, who had been shadowing them everywhere, started to follow him.

They were here to protect them, he knew that. And it was Kayo's job to protect them, and she took her job very seriously. Even if she wasn't here, she had found a way to protect them...

Getting some air and coffee sounded great, but the urge to go with Gordon was instantly blown away.

He should have been here, he should have learned that she was fine, should have stayed with her.

He had convinced himself that she would be fine but... the rhythmic sound that had made Virgil begging to Kay for open her eyes had stopped...

They had taken her to a room on a stretcher, and Virgil didn't know how long he had just stood there, but someone had finally put him on the elevator.

The man's lips were moving, and even though the only sound he heard was a steady beep, he should be able to lip-read, yet he couldn't do more than just stare.

The beep sound...

"Is- is she d-dead?"

Although he tried to listen to the man, he couldn't hear him and couldn't understand him, what if he had already told him she was dead...

What if she's already dead?

He tried to understand what the other man was saying as the voice slowly drifted away from his head.

"...took a few minutes to get her back, Mr. Tracy. They will inform you if anything happens during the surgery."

And the man had left him in the waiting room. Now to where the whole family is.

He had already left here because of unnecessary bandages, He would not leave again.

So he glanced at Gordon, who was walking towards the elevator with his Shadow behind him.

'Shadow' reminded him of Kayo.

Six bodyguards and one person looked like the head of that team.

They followed them from a safe distance wherever they went, truly like a shadow.

Virgil would continue to call them shadows.

He had seen the person he thought was the head of the team before. He had seen Kayo talking to her at events. Also, she could be Kayo's friend.

Still, there was no change of emotion on her face. And she never spoke, except for essential things.

And no one had said anything, especially since Kyrano had arrived.

Kyrano himself was a complete mystery anyway, but no one could blame him for being here in a situation like this.

When Kyrano was asked questions, he had been able to look him in the eyes and see nothing but an angry father, without attracting his attention.

From that moment on, he couldn't look at him, even if he wanted to.

Seeing her father's shattered eyes, before he could forgive himself, only increased his anger at himself.

Kayo was attached to her father. No matter how upset she was , when he left the island, she had sought him all over the world.

And a part of him was offended by Kyrano, but- now wasn't the time for that.

Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her that way.

They couldn't lose her too.

They couldn't lose anyone.

But her heart had stopped.

When he looked around, Scott's migraine had clearly not gotten better, he was leaning forward in the chair while holding his head with one hand., Alan was curled up around John's waist, who clearly hadn't slept in a long time, Grandma... was she crying silently?

She was sitting in a distant hospital chair with her back to them.

It was obvious she was trying not to show it, but when she paid attention, it was obvious that she was trembling.

He slowly walked towards her. "Grandma?"

She sniffed quickly, he didn't miss the fact that she was wiping her eyes with her hands.

"I'm fine, honey. Just-"

"We are here, Grandma. You don't need to take them all." He sat next to her and put his hand on her shoulder.

"Look who's telling me. Virgil, you were there with her, you brought her here, and we can't imagine what you've been through, but you can tell us."

He continued to listen as he had nothing to say.

"Scott doesn't say anything because he always thinks it's the one who should take responsibility." She took a breath and continued. "John blames herself because he sent her there. Gordon isn't in his usual fun and Alan is thinking- ...the worst."

He wanted to tell her that she would be fine.

But he didn't know that. What if they lose her..?

"What if she can't..." He swallowed. He couldn't think of that while she was still fighting there.

She was fighting. Her heart had stopped, but she had chosen to fight again.

"Virgil. I can't tell you what you want to hear, honey." She swallowed as she wiped her tears. "But she's a fighter, you know that."

He grinned when he heard what he had just thought. "Yes, she is."

"Can you... tell me what her wounds are?"

He nodded as if he had received an order.

"One in the part of the liver, the other in the abdomen. I'm afraid it hit the abdominal aorta... I don't think it was completely damaged because then... "

She would probably already be dead.

He wouldn't have said this if grandma didn't have a medical background, but he needed someone to understand him.

And the grandma looked at him with eyes that understood.

"I'm sure you did the right thing there, dear. And you're probably right, so, you got to her on time. Scott is right, we wouldn't be here if you were late."

If he hadn't heard Gordon's pointless shout at that moment, he would have given Grandma a big hug of thanks.

"...So Kayo was always like that, Carl. In the family, her name means security. She often put herself in danger to protect us."

Carl Howard. He was the one Kayo had assigned to protect himself.

He said that every single bodyguard below was assigned to protect a brother and grandma. And the head of them all, Amethyst Powell.

He had learned everyone's name, but she was the most remarkable person.

During their few minutes of conversation with Carl, he had the impression that Mrs. Powell was someone like Kayo.

Although Carl didn't show it on the outside, he was a fun person on the inside.

He didn't prefer to use his last name.

It started out as a small talk, but as he walked in to get everyone coffee, Carl told him how he had joked with Kayo that there was an emergency.

The joke finally ended with Kayo getting wet, and no matter how angry she was, she still literally protected him on the actual mission that same day.

And then Gordon told him about his joke about making Kayo think he jumped into a shark-filled pool.

They were returning to the elevator with as much coffee as they could carry from the vending machine at the entrance.

Just then, he saw Colonel Casey and a few others with her.

He involuntarily frowned.

"Colonel Casey? What brings you here?"

She turned to him with a sudden movement.

"Gordon. How lucky to find you here. I need to talk to Scott as soon as possible." Her voice was very daring.

No. His sister was in surgery, and no matter how quickly he wanted to get there, he had every right to be angry, right?

"Of course. You can talk to Scott after you tell me why."

"Gordon, I really can't-" Her voice was calmer this time, good.

"So?"

"This conversation is none of your business." One of the men next to her spoke as he was passing by a doctor. "I know where they are, Colonel. We no longer need Mr. Tracy for this."

He had dropped the coffees he was holding on the floor - in fact, it could be said that he threw it on purpose - but he paid for them. So... it shouldn't matter, right?

Coffee had spilled on some of his newly bought shoes and his pant, but he didn't care.

There were other things he cared about, like his sister... like family...

"Oh no. It's my sister who's in surgery here, and also the person you're trying to accuse is my sister. So you're wrong, that interests me."

And while he was waiting for an answer from Casey, the man he hadn't liked all along interrupted again.

"No one is trying to accuse anyone, we're just following the evidence."

He wanted to piss him off even more. He wouldn't allow it.

"Would you like to clear this up in the middle of the whole hospital, Mr. Tracy? Do you want to be investigate-?"

"Gordon, that's enough. Please." Casey's familiar voice was more pronounced this time.

He didn't reply, Colonel Casey wouldn't have done that if she didn't have to, he was sure of it.

Expressing his displeasure, he began to walk towards the elevator.

His silence lasted until he learned the real purpose of their coming here.

As far as I remember medical information, I read it on reddit... but it's been a long time. I couldn't find my source even though I thought I saved it somewhere...

My absolutely marvellous review of Yoke Guy Watch T!!

So I just finished the game (just as in yesterday) and I haven't done much post-game stuff other than favours and my daily things. But, I can say I definitely enjoyed the game.

But I'm going to go over the things I found difficult or just didn't enjoy in the game.

I found the whole supermarket thing difficult, especially the chase at the end, it took me an embarrassingly long time to time my jumps correctly. But the boss battle was fun and not too challenging. Zombie Night isn't half as bad as I thought it would be, but I still don't enjoy it very much lol.

The Clown time thing gives me the creeps, I don't like clowns in general so being chased by one suddenly? I barely made it lol.

Terror time is terror time. I still suck at it.

As I said before, I wish you could do more storywise as Hailey that's not getting stuff after the stories merge. While I found playing in BBQ as Nate more fun, Hailey's character is a lot more entertaining. So I wish I could've played as her more.

Not a nitpick, but I still haven't got Sighborg Y after so many attempts. I guess I'm just not lucky lol.

More of a personal problem but the fact it took me up until chapter 5 to get Dimmy and Dazzabel because they hardly showed up is a pain in the butt. But I got my children and unfortunately, I had to swap Ratelle out for Mee2 to have a second healer since I desperately needed one. Auntie Heart is the punching bag and having a backup healer in case she goes down is helpful. I also wanted to use Allnyta but never found bothered to figure out where Tengloom is.

Again not really a problem but I feel like quests were a lot less relevant in the main story, sure you have the detective agency but once I got Mirapo unlocked and I didn't have to do any quests there to progress the main story I totally forgot about it and Sparkopolis altogether. I didn't see many quests at all on Nate's side. This is good because I got to focus on the main story more but I do enjoy getting sidetracked and doing fun quests.

Unpopular opinion, but I didn't enjoy the alternate dimension quests (at least the ones I have done so far). I skipped most of the cutscenes for the first quest because of how uninteresting it was for me, I didn't enjoy the concept, but I did like playing the game as Katie! For the second quest, I don't understand why the tour was changed to some heroine competition? They probably didn't want it to be the same tour again, but they could've changed some things to make it more interesting.

And in the end, we get the most (in my opinion) unsatisfying ending, with the shark winning the whole thing? But seeing No-Bot was cool in the quest, especially when you see him in the Bada-Bing Tower later. This makes me wonder if Yopple Bot would be at the tower instead in Katie's dimension. Or if the whole Ghoulfather thing has happened at all there.

I wish Buck had more involvement, his whole personality for the most part was adventure, aliens and ufos. I thought the Hazeltine Manor chapter would give us some more information about him, but we hardly saw him at all. He doesn't do much outside of the three things I mentioned either, which kind of sucks. Or maybe he does, and I just forget. I still love him though. I feel a similar way about Jessica, she's Hailey's best friend or something and it would've been nice if she had a role similar to Katie's as a good friend character. I kind of wish she got involved in the yo-kai stuff to at least some degree so she could be like how Buck is to Nate. But that'd be messy in the end so I understand why they didn't.

I didn't find many of the Merican/New yo-kai very interesting, the ones I found most interesting are the S-ranks, unfortunately. I still like some of them though!

And now the good parts!

The characters are fun, and while the main characters are great apart, they're so entertaining together I enjoyed the times in later chapters when they were together doing stuff! Whisper, Jibanyan and Usapyon are wonderful, as usual. Blunder and Folly, while I question their relevance, were also entertaining to watch.

I like the involvement of the Blasters House, it was a nice surprise. I liked seeing them again seeing as I didn't enjoy playing Blasters much game-play-wise. Which is probably why I didn't play Blasters T very much. I liked the yo-kai heroes too.

One of my favourite parts of the game was the Yopple Tour, seeing old characters like Kyubi, Venoct, Arachnus, Toadal Dude and Komasan and Komajiro was awesome. And Spect-Hare and Double Time were entertaining.

I loved the Dukesville storyline with Unnbearaboy and Jane, it was very sweet, but sad how they had to split again so soon.

Deadcool. All I have to say.

The boss battles were fun, yet difficult. I lost to Slackajack a couple of times. I was worried I wouldn't like the grid system, but it's fun to strategize where to use my yo-kai and being able to dodge attacks.

Yo-kai watch blaster go pew pew, all I have to say.

And there's a lot more stuff, but just so I don't write a whole book here. I'll stop listing stuff XD

My final team was Usapyon, Blandon, Sgt. Burly, Mee2, Mama Aura and my Originyan called Nyanplay (pun on Nyan, as most if not all of the jibanyan variants, have nyan in their name, and cosplay!) . But I also used Jibanyan, Wydeawake, Ratelle, Demandi, Intune, Thurston and others. I tried to use the new yo-kai, but that failed. Maybe on my other save file, I'll do a Merican yo-kai-only run.

Okay, here it is, the idea that has been plaguing my mind for the last 5 months, another additioj to the platonic yandere fams. This is just a soft intro, I'm working on the story right now. I hope yall like this.

Yandere Midoriya Clan:

The Midoriya Clan consists of Inko, Izuku, All Might and of course, the reader, Y/n.

Inko had started dating All Might after he began training Izuku.

Now, Y/n Midoriya, is not All Might's kid. She's actually Inko and AFO's daughter, born after a hook up between the two in the past, after Izuku's father had died. So Izuku is a year older than you.

Let's talk about what kind of yanderes they are.

Inko is a obsessive and protective yandere. She's actually protective of both of her kids, but especially of you, because of your quirk.

Izuku is a delusional and a very protective yandere. From a very young age, Izuku had become very protective of you, despite not having a quirk. He may have been punching bag for Bakugo, but he never let anyone look you the wrong way, let alone harm you.

All Might is also a very delusional, protective and obsessive yandere. After he began dating Inko, he let himself become take the role of the father figure in your life, always being there for you whenever you needed him.

Now, after a certain incident, Inko is forced to contact your father, AFO.

AFO is an extremely possessive and protective yandere. What he wants is for both you and Inko to come back to him and become a family again. But that's kind of hard since he's a criminal mastermind and Inko is dating the symbol of peace. But he's still very determined.

Now of course, when you do go to your father, you also get Tomura, Dabi, Toga, Kurogiri, you know the whole LOV (and Nomus). And the members are equally protective of the boss's little girl because you are just able to form a close relationship with all of them, one where you don't judge them for their appearances or actions.

Obviously, All Might and AFO are at each other's throats, determined to be the best father to you, and s/o to Inko. Its actually surprising how less blood has been spilled for your sake.

Similarly, Izuku and Tomura are always competing to be the best brother to you, both of them always trying to convince you why the other is bad.

If either family makes you cry, Inko will raise hell and will 100% end everyone in her vicinity (except for her kids of course).

And just like in life, you too want to find love, even if you're too blind to see that the man with the bird mask is not the one for you. Its one of the things both of your families agree upon. Too bad the Yakuza boss is also infatuated with you. Oh well.

This series will involve yandere relationships, both romantic and platonic, and all kinds of troubles a normal teenager goes through. Stick around for more!

Everything Right/Wrong with Ninjago “Legacy of the Green Ninja” E3: Double Trouble

Disclaimers: Show owned by LEGO. This is not a professional review/critique - it’s mainly intended for comedy.

- Intro ✅

- Lloyd is holding that lightbulb way too close to his face. Green Bean’s gonna lose an eye ❌

- “I can’t seem to teach him to control his power!” He’s about to beat up a punching bag because he hit himself in the face with a broom. I don’t think his powers are what he needs to control right now ❌

- “Sometimes the greatest opponent we face is ourselves. That is especially true of Lloyd.” This is a very interesting take on Lloyd’s character and one that not enough people talk about… including the show itself ❌

- “He is the son of Lord Garmadon.” Yeah but Garmadon hasn’t had any place in raising Lloyd yet, so he’s not really the one to blame for Lloyd’s anger problems ❌

- “It’s going to take time for him to embrace the light.” It doesn’t take much time at all, actually. My biggest issue with this season is the fact that they had plenty of episodes to better set up a proper arc and development for Lloyd, but they don’t. Sure, he gets this episode and sort of Child’s Play, but otherwise he’s not that much more focused on than he is in season 1 (in terms of the filler episodes). Sure, a race episode is… well it is there, but give us Lloyd struggling to unlock his powers because he knows he’ll have to use them to hurt his dad, or something like that. A lot of the first half of this season just feels like a missed opportunity. Fluff is fun but I want angst, d*mmit! ❌

- I know showing Kai, Zane, and Cole talking in the background while Jay and Nya talk is supposed to be realistic, but I just find it really distracting, especially since you can hear them whispering ❌

- Isn’t Nya like 15? How did she get a job? ❌

- “They’ve changed to the Darkley’s School for Great Children.” Use of the word “children” implies one of two things: a) the school has opened up to all genders (seems unlikely since all students seem to be boys and there’s no way this show was that progressive considering we’re just now getting pride flags on screen), or b) The writers barely got away with “bad boys” and now “Darkley’s School for Good Boys” would be the censors’ last straw ❌

- “Wait, they’ve turned good?” Yeah yeah, insert joke about astral projecting voices ❌

- “I love ceremonies! That means there’s gonna be cake!” Finally, some realistic representation of asexuals in the media- ✅

- Not enough people acknowledge how hilarious it is to see a warlord h*llbent on destruction organizing a meeting to “brainstorm” ideas to destroy the heroes ✅

- “OVER THE SIDE!” Over the side ✅

- “Can you make a giant ham sandwich?… I would hope not, I’m so hungry.” Am I stereotyping my own community by saying that every character that thinks about food is automatically ace? Maybe. Is it gonna stop me? Nope. ✅

- “How can I defeat ninja who so rudely refuse to be defeated!?” I know some people don’t like that Garmadon was made less scary this season, and I see their point, but I just can’t help but enjoy every moment he’s on screen ✅

- Someone make a gif of Garmadon punting that snake off the ship. Please? ✅

- Why would there be mint-condition extras of the ninja’s suits just lying around the ship? ❌

- “I have made you to be equal to the ninja.” Why? He can create anything, so why didn’t he make the exact same copycat ninja, but make them just a tad bit stronger than the real ninja? That seems like it’d be more effective ❌

- ^ Ya ever just look at someone and KNOW they make TikTok thirst traps? ❌

- “Any sudden what?” “AHHHHHH-“ ✅

- Brad Tudabone? Does every villain here have to name their kid some godawful pun?!?!? ❌

- Building off that, you have Lloyd Garmadon (pun on Lord Garmadon), Brad Tudabone (bad to the bone), and… Gene? Now I’m laughing at the only kid with the normal name because he’s somehow the outlier in this trio ❌

- I know making unique character designs is hard with lego, but did every kid really have to look almost exactly the same? I feel like the plot twist shouldn’t be “hey the kids are evil!” but rather “hey, where the h*ll did someone get a cloning machine???” ❌

- “They overthrew us! They’re monsters!” No, just children, which is 100 times worse

- “With friends like you, who needs enemies?” This line makes Lloyd visibly sad and I think we should talk about that more ✅

- Evil Jay, Cole, and Zane go from across the room to behind Kai for no apparent reason ❌

- “Lloyd is not at the amusement park!” Why would he tell them that? ❌

- “Jay, you back yet? Can’t wait to see you at the auto body shop!” What phone plays a voicemail after a missed call, unprompted? ❌

- Nya falls for this ❌

- D*MN that escalated quickly; consent??? ❌

- Also, this was originally supposed to be the MAIN relationship of the show and the ONLY time throughout these 2 seasons that they kiss on the lips is in this moment, where one of them isn’t even the real person! ❌

- “Call me!” 1: You live together, 2: No. ❌

- “… they’re gonna brainwash Lloyd and undo all the lessons we’ve tried to teach him!” How intelligent and cunning does Kai think this group of 8-10 years olds is? ❌

- If all the teachers quit after the school turned good, then who made the choice to turn the school good in the first place? ❌

- I love every single moment between Lloyd and the Darkley’s boys ✅

- The evil ninja dodge the spitballs but not the smoke bombs for some reason ❌

- Lloyd falls flat against shattered glass and RUBS against it and doesn’t cut himself ❌

- “Why do I always get tied up?” The writers heard Lloyd’s plea and decided to upgrade him to cages for the whole rest of the series! ❌

- “I escaped fair and square!” ✅

- “Which them?” “My friends of course!” Moments like this make it really hard to try to prove you have a braincell, Lloyd ❌

- Gene has an awful complicated way of depicting a basic element of 7th grade math❌

- “When I arrived here on my first day, I didn’t know how things worked around here, and everyone made fun of me. Brad even put fire ants in my bed.” Lloyd’s life really is just one Shakespearean tragedy after another, huh? ❌

- “All of you have a secret good side that stays quiet out of fear, because it thinks it’s alone, but it’s not. And I’m living proof!” ✅

- “Who here can sew?” Everyone, apparently❌

- “My eyes! I can’t see!” Good to know that evil Kai is just as much a baby as real Kai is

- “Normally we’d punish you for holding us captive, but now that we’ve all learned a valuable lesson, I suppose it’s cause for a celebration!” … What? ❌

- “It’s great to have the tank back!” You had it for 5 minutes before it got destroyed! AND IT’S STILL NOT A TANK ❌

- How can Garmadon contact the ninja? ❌

- Love that Nya put a game controller in the Ultra Sonic Raider. She knows them so well ✅

- “You go to school and sometimes you might pick up a thing or two.” Lloyd ✅

- But also, school propaganda ❌ /lh

- The internal conflict in this episode seems to be that Lloyd has some sort of mental block keeping him from controlling his powers, and the resolution had him overcoming it and learning to control them, but… how? What happened during this episode that made Lloyd develop? How did he go from trying to kill a punching bag to spewing stuff about secret good sides in one’s self? ❌

Alright, fine, I'm gonna say it. For all its faults, the Fire Chapter is a better Zane season than Rebooted

In case anyone wants me to explain my reasoning, here we go:

First let's look at season 3, Rebooted.

Okay, controversial opinion, but I hesitate to call Rebooted a Zane focus. Technically, yes, Zane is the face of the season. But Rebooted is only a Zane focus insofar as season 11 is a Kai focus. It's what they tell us is going on, that's how it's advertised, but that's not really the case.

See, pretty much every main character except Zane gets some kind of focus or character arc - or at the very least, the attention granted to all the other ninja significantly dwarfs anything Zane may have received. This also kinda marks the beginning of a saddening trend for Zane's character, with him being reduced to a supporting character with very little plot relevance besides being a robot and a punching bag.

To show you what I mean, let's look at each ninja during Rebooted

Kai: this was at a point in the series where, even if he wasn't always the main character, Kai was still ostensibly the primary POV character whose perspective we follow, and the narrative did lightly skew in his favor in earlier seasons (this did unfortunately change ever since season 8, so now Kai can join Zane in the "gradually it was. Still, it successfully put these three cat the front and center of damn near everything in Rebooted. The love triangle was all-consuming, and all the other characters and subplots paid the price - especially Zaneaks at Zane's funeral - not to mention his little character arc about his dislike for technology. We do, to some extent, follow his point of view for the most part throughout season 3, or at least they show a preference to his POV over others, even if he isn't technically the main character

Nya, Cole, Jay: the love triangle pretty effectively derailed everything. Rebooted had a lot of things it was trying to do, and it could have been a really good season if not for that stupid love triangle getting in the way of, like, the rest of the story. I think one reason why people hate it so much is because of how obstructive it was. Still, it successfully put these three characters at the front and center of damn near everything in Rebooted. The love triangle was all-consuming, and all the other characters and subplots paid the price - especially Zane

Lloyd, Garmadon: father and son bonding, Garmadon getting some redemption and also his lil vow of peace, Lloyd mastering golden energy, the curse of the golden master, various assorted destiny junk

Zane: uh....his blueprints are used to create the nindroid army I guess? He gets beat up a few times? He dies? ....he falls in love with Pixal?

You may be noticing a trend with Zane here. In Rebooted, Zane's relevance to the plot begins and ends with him being a nindroid.

We've seen him have depth and growth as a character in prior seasons - episodes like Home, Tick Tock, and The Last Voyage in particular stick out. But Rebooted just shoves all that to the side, y'know? A few scenes, a wholesome lil subplot, but that's it. He often feels like a supporting character in his own season.

And sure, I get that this was their first real foray into focus seasons. But??? If you're gonna put Zane on the face of the season, at least give him a real arc.

But the Fire Chapter, on the other hand...say what you will, but they actually had a pretty decent Zane focus there. And please note I'm specifying the Fire Chapter, not season 11 as a whole. I generally consider Fire and Ice Chapters as two separate entities.

Here, we actually get to see into Zane's perspective a bit. The Fire Chapter almost feels like, to some extent, it's somewhat being told from his point of view in the same way that Rebooted was told from Kai's. Not to mention that we get to see him interact with the plot and other characters in ways that go beyond his nindroid status. In fact, his long-forgotten Seer abilities take greater precedence over that. And when him being a nindroid IS relevant to the plot, there's a decent amount of characterization to go with it.

When volunteering to go into the Beohernie's stomach to retrieve their lost engine part, Zane mentions his nindroid status as the reason he's best suited to the task. We're hinting at his self-sacrificing tendencies, and the concern from the other ninja leads to a few interesting character moments. Zane being a nindroid is secondary to him being self-sacrificial.

The next time his nindroid status becomes relevant to the plot, it's because they're trying to break into the Explorer's Club. With him disguising himself as Clutch Powers, the focus is less on his nindroid abilities and more on his mediocre acting skills.

The last time Zane's nindroid status becomes relevant to the plot, it's because he sees his reflection in the enchanted mirror - a version of himself that's been stripped of his humanity, nothing more than lifeless code. Here, Zane's fear, ironically enough his humanity, is the focus of the scene. It's focusing on his fear of losing what makes him who he is (which I feel is also some delightfully painful foreshadowing to the Ice Emperor).

(Also, I feel it's annoyingly ironic considering that's what the show often reduces him to at times. Just a machine, a plot device. Something to beat up to raise the stakes and kill off for the sake of inducing tension. I do have to at least appreciate the fact that newer seasons have allowed him to have characterization beyond the scope of his robot status, though.)

Even when Zane's nindroid status becomes relevant, there's an element of emotion, personality, and agency in it. Zane's not just getting beat up, or having a rushed and poorly-conceived heteronormative romance with the first of his kind he's ever met. These are actual character moments that integrate both aspects of Zane - his mechanical nature and his living heart.

You might make the argument that the same is true for Zane's little romantic sideplot with Pixal in Rebooted. I would disagree. They get, what? A handful of short, wholesome yet ultimately shallow scenes that don't really add anything significant to either character. In Decoded, Zane said that Pixal taught him about being a nindroid and he taught her about being human, but we don't really see much of that in Rebooted. They meet, Zane gives her half of his heart, and then that's the end on channel ten, more or less. We don't see them interact outside the scope of "you're a nindroid, I'm a nindroid, we are compatible". The entire basis of their relationship boiled down to them both being nindroids. I love Pixane, but even I have to admit they had some pretty lackluster beginnings.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a Zangst stan, of course I enjoy whump that revolves around Zane being a nindroid. Who doesn't? But just using his metal shell as an excuse to rough him up without actually putting any real emotion into it, that's just lazy writing. The Fire Chapter at least does it right, by not turning Zane into a background character in his own season.

So uhh yeah. I know it's blasphemy and all but the Fire Chapter is a better Zane season and I will die on that hill.
