He's had a very tragic and stressful life. I agree.
They practically say as much in show when revealing that his very existence is considered disgusting and "requires" extermination.
And after his mom's death he had absolutely no one he could fully trust or rely on. Not anyone in the village he was raised in until they clearly kicked him out.
Not his own big brother who ignores or maims him in turn with promises of death.
Not any of his demon race of people or his dad's subjects.
Not even his dad's vassals like Myoga. Because while their relationship managed to develop to the point that Inuyasha has learned he could trust in the information he provides, and can relax at the flea demon not being big or strong enough to be a real threat personally, it's clear (to me) he doesn't rely on Myoga at all and his trust is limited.
--- Because again, he'd been alone and lonely from his mother's death up until he hesitantly tried to give a relationship a chance with Kikyo. That means Myoga the flea was so insignificant he couldn't even be relied upon to be a friendly companion. And my theory for why is that since EVERYONE was alwaying gunning for Inuyasha’s death that Myoga would disappear often and rarely showed up due to fear. Which could read as indifference, abandonment, and even agreement to the violence against him to Inuyasha’s eyes.
Inuyasha's life before canon is exceptionally tragic to me.
He was born into grief. His father gave his life for him to be born, and his mother too, though her's was a lengthier death. She gave up her status and any acceptance she might have found, in favor of raising him. After she died, Inuyasha had NO ONE. He was a child, and he was all alone, knowing firsthand that there was absolutely no one in the world who wanted him. In fact, every human and demon he's ever encountered has made it clear they wish he would die, or that he'd never been born.
He has to live with this, knowing that the entire world is factually against his existence.
So he learns to be tough. He grows spines to protect himself and he lashes out first. It's too painful to hope, but he still does. It's too painful to try and connect, but he still does...
In spite of all the anguish and cruelty he has suffered, his heart remains kind. He can't bring himself to hate, the way that they hate him. He was born of love and it lives inside him, protecting him so that he can still be vulnerable, so that he can still find love, in spite of it all.
#fucking thank you#i don't see enough ppl bringing this up#it aggravates me how fandom tries to portray Inuyasha most of the time like he doesn't have any right to be the defensive wild child he is#he had to raise himself when his mom died#he's so damn suspicious of people its clear he's been tricked before the Kikyo situation#he's amazingly well adjusted and sociable given what we know and can infer about his life#ppl try to say he's unreasonable...what's “unreasonable” is that he went so hard in protecting Kagome from the start despite everything#if Inuyasha’s canon reputation had been fully factual we'd have gotten a different anime#i believe Inuyasha raised himself#he's so tiny when his mom died#who even knows how long he remained a small child since he's half demon#learning how to defend himself had to an extremely painful process#i bet its why his pain tolerance is so high and he fights regardless of any wounds#inuyasha#thoughts#i will always love him - Inuyasha is that guy#best husband material in the feudal era despite the baggage#its very easy to rant about this show lol

inuyasha, kagome and jealousy: why their feelings were justified
disclaimer: I'm aware there's a debate about whether or not inukag was officially, canonically dating during the series and that the answers tend to change according to the source material embasing them (manga or anime), but despite using manga panels to write this, I did it purely out of practicality and have no intentions of opening this particular can of worms right now. The point I'll be trying to make for @inukag-week's bickering prompt is that their feelings were valid regardless.
Inuyasha and Kagome get criticized a lot for the jealousy they feel of each other.
People seem to think that Kagome is not entitled to that sentiment because she chose to stay by his side knowing what it entailed and, more often than not, was the one telling him to go see Kikyo, so it's not fair of her to resent him when he actually does.
On the other hand, they claim that precisely because Inuyasha goes to see Kikyo, it's hypocritical of him to get mad at the fact that Koga is constantly showing just how much romantically invested he is on Kagome, as he has no ground to stand on.
Their feelings, however, are completely justified and no other scene proves that better than this manga interaction Sunrise mercilessly cut out:
Inuyasha is once again jealous of Kagome and Koga's proximity and he lets his frustrations out in no uncertain terms, but then Kagome makes a good point: what righ has he to be upset about it when he is also close to Kikyo? It's exactly why he gets flak in the first place. And his answer to that question is very interesting:
She may think Inuyasha is diverting, but he's really not. That's the briliance of this exchange: they are both right and they are both wrong on their assumptions.
Of course that, from Kagome's perspective, Koga putting his arms around her is not that big of a deal. They have no history whatsoever and she made it clear since day one that she wasn't interested. If he still wants to shoot his shot, it's all she can do to lay a friend and ally down gently.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that Koga's interest on her is such an ego boost...
Or that it turns the tables on Inuyasha to make him feel insecure and worried for a change.
Or that, in a twisted way, it actually reassures her of the feelings he tries so hard to be nonchalant about.
It might be a little petty of her, but how any of that even compares to Inuyasha kissing Kikyo? To Inuyasha meeting her alone even though she did terrible things to the two of them? To everyone constantly talking about how he still has feelings for her?
Surely he must know, after everything they've been through, that it can't compare, that he is the one Kagome is in love with. And since he does know, how dare he ever doubt her?
And of course that, from Inuyasha's point of view, Koga putting his arms around her is a huge deal. She complains about how every time he sees Kikyo they "float off into their own little world" but the truth is that except for the kiss she laid on him and the goodbye one they shared when she passed away for good — none of which had romantic conotations —, his interactions with Kikyo were pretty sterile, especially if juxtaposed with Kagome's interactions with Koga.
Kikyo is dead and isn't romantically interested in Inuyasha, nor is he romantically interested in her, but Koga certainly is into Kagome. Just because it isn't reciprocal yet, doesn't mean it hasn't potential to be.
Koga is the one regularly inserting himself into her personal space and she lets him, even though he did terrible things to the two of them. And so how can he be sure she doesn't like it? And how exactly is that different from the dynamic they share? Was she, after all, just being nice with him too and nothing more?
Surely she must know, after everything they've been through, that he only leaves because he has a duty to fulfil, but that he will always come back to her, that she is the one whose shoulders he puts his arm around. And since she does know, how dare she ever doubt him?
It's a classic case of miscommunication, but one that actually makes total sense, because they're just two teenagers navigating through extremely complex feelings in the worst possible circumstances.
They don't have the bigger picture the audience has and even if they did, their judgement would still be clouded by their jealousy, which keeps they stuck into their own perspectives.
And what makes even hard for them to get over these feelings is that they don't come from a place of ownership at all, but rather from a place of insecurity.
That's why Koga and Kikyo make up for such formidable rivals for Inuyasha and Kagome: it's not about the competition — the audience knows there isn't really one —, it's about the insecurities they bring out of the pairing, because they were carefully designed to do just that.
From the very beginning Kagome was being compared to Kikyo for being her reincarnation. She starts the story already having to measure up to her in power and once Kikyo actually enters the scene, Kagome is also taken aback by her beauty and elegance, but more than that: she feels like she can't compete because Kikyo "died for Inuyasha." One day he might return the favor.
For his part, Inuyasha has Koga to deal with. A good looking, uncomplicated man who has taken a like to Kagome and has absolutely nothing holding him back from pursuing her, while he has nothing to offer but a difficult past, an unstable present and an uncertain future. One day she could grow tired of it all and realize that Koga could give her everything he couldn't and leave for good.
In conclusion, all that jealousy is rooted in insecurities and in the fear of losing each other, which are completely understandable and absolutely valid .
The differece, I think, is that the narrative lets Inuyasha express his feelings of jealousy directly towards Koga, from insults to actual physical fights, without grand repercutions, while Kagome is never allowed allowed a similar outlet
But that's a topic for another day.
Special thanks to @kitramune for helping me with the panels.

Sesshomaru x GN! Human Reader HC
Even if you were a yokai instead of a human, he still wouldn't be honest about his feelings.
He has too much pride for that to ever be possible.
He's protective of you, and makes up excuses that it's only because you're a human. It's like he always said, humans are weak and pathetic. They're so weak that without his arms around you now you'll die from the cold.
Denies anyone who tells him otherwise, nothing will make him change his mind. He's a mighty yokai who has travelled far and wide, he knows more than you do, so his opinion is more important than yours.
Sessohomaru's hatred for humans persists, but he makes an exception for you. He has no issue with brutally slaughtering humans right in front of you.
Your fights are all one-sided, with you getting angry over something Sesshomaru did. He won't argue with you, but you can tell he's not taking you seriously.
He knows there's nowhere you can run that he won't find. Anything you say about Sesshomaru while talking to Jaken will immediately be reported to his master.
Sesshomaru is far better at receiving affection than giving it. He won't move if you've fallen asleep on top of him, he might even run a hand through your hair.
Surprisingly, he acknowledges your human holidays and festivals. If you ever decide to go to one, he'll buy you a nice hairpin. When the shopkeeper teasingly asks if it's for a lover, he'll nod in response.
Sesshomaru will keep anything you give him, be it a pretty rock or a handmade scarf. He gets annoyed if you give him something that's hard to keep, like a flower. He wants to preserve anything you give him and keep it hidden away.
Sesshomaru enjoys your scent, and occasionally he'll lower his head and sniff your hair and along your neck. He'll also change into his dog form and curl protectively around you at night.
Sesshomaru makes an effort to never let you meet his brother. He thinks Inuyasha and Kagome would be a bad influence on you.
#i literally had to quit watching the show because of how sexy he is#why make him so hot if he's not the main character?????#inuyasha#scenarios#gn reader#sesshomaru#x reader#sesshomaru x reader#hcs

Hello! Hru? I love ur blog soo muchh♡ may I request human! Reader (from Kagome's world) who's really strong? Like the reader surprised the Inuyasha men (inuyasha, naraku and sesshomaru:> if you're not comfortable with these you can always change!) When a demon tried to attack her & the men tried to save reader but stop when they see her beating the demon up with bare hands or with a weapon she found brutally💀😭 And they just stood there dumbfounded like how tf🧍♂️? And when they ask how is she so strong, reader just shrugs and goes like "martial arts?"
Thank you and feel free to use any pronounces! I just wanna read sumn for once that doesn't have weak reader pls I'm so tired 💀💀
Hey anon! Sorry this is so late. I do agree with you on the last part. I'm tired of the weak reader all the time too. People gotta switch it up you know?
Strong ass Human!Reader in the Feudal Era with Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, and Naraku:
Inuyasha:
Reveling in the heroism of saving a nearby village, the group started their journey elsewhere. Trekking through the forest, your rag-tag group ran into a boisterous pig yokai. Who, unfortunately, became smitten with your looks.
"I will have you as my bride. And we can make all the hanyou I want!"
Ew. The initial response was to ignore the pig. There've been many demons who would bother the group. And, after the fight you all came from, you just wanted to make camp. Inuyasha grumbled a quick, "Piss off," as the group passes by.
But, it seemed that the Pig was serious about his stupid claim. He bares his teeth and shoots forward at you, grabbing your legs. World tipping over, your head thumps against a patch of lush grass. How lucky. However, you felt a strong pull on your leg, dragging your body away from your friends.
Hell fuck no! In the midst of the dragging, your bag was in the perfect position to grab easily. With how quickly things happened, Inuyasha jumpstarts to save you. You grab the bulky hammer in your bag, hiding it from view.
The pig yokai guffaws and throws you over his shoulder. "When I see someone worthy of being a bride, it's my right to claim-OOUGH"
One hit to the dome scratched some skin off and left his brain to rattle. "WHAT THE-." The next swing made contact with his cheek, sending sanguine liquid onto the ground. The pig stood there shocked, with blood leaking from his mouth.
He gets angry and charges at you, again. This time, he wouldn't get you. Grounding yourself, you kick him back, which sends him flying back a few feet. Taking charge, you jump and start to gruesomely work on his head with the hammer.
"What da HELL!!! Y/N!!!" Inuyasha yells. He's totally flabbergasted. His eyes and mouth are so wide, it's comical. There's the desire to step in and protect you, but it's so impressed how strong and ferocious those swings were. Inuyasha didn't want to interrupt. It was kind of hot.
Although, Inuyasha is a little peeved that you didn't let him know how strong you were. The way you sent him back with that kick was unexpected. He starts cheering you on.
"Way to go Y/N!" He's standing there smiling with his hands on his hips. Once the beast was knocked out (or dead, who cares). You turn back to head to the group.
"Y/n that was so cool! When the hell did you get so strong?"
"Uhhhh....fighting with my cousins growing up?" You shrugged. "I just want to go lay down, can we hurry up and make camp somewhere?"
Now, he's wondering what type of humans your cousins are.
2. Sesshomaru
This is one of the worst fears you had. Spiders. In your time, you could easily avoid an encounter with one of these wretched creatures. Modern houses and bug repellents helped tremendously. Not going out into nature and definitely NOT living in Australia did too. Since you've traveled back to the feudal era and were forced to interact with nature, your luck has been tested. And it just ran out today.
A fucking spider demon appeared. It was grotesque, smelly, and an abomination. And it was big too. It wanted to attempt to best Lord Sesshomaru in battle. Sesshomaru, of course, refuses. So, the dumb thing tries to shoot webs at you. Thankfully you dodged.
The hate for spiders took over your body. The fear you had compounded on top of that, making you scarier than the demon. It tries to stick its hairy and pointy leg through you, but you were quicker. With desperate and angered bare hands, you tore off its leg.
The spider yokai shouts in pain. Taking advantage of it's pause, you quickly tear off each limb. One by one.
Sesshomaru, in all his glory, stands there and says nothing. Does nothing. It really doesn't look like he's reacting but he is. The Demon Lord is extremely surprised that he's tense. His eyes are wide. Only thing that's slack is his hands.
The dagger in your side pouch begs to be utilized. It's appeased by you yanking it out and stabbing the yokai in one of it's many eyes. The screams, the power, and the needed imagery of you decimating this spider was iconic.
To Sesshomaru, it was obvious you were untrained. The ferocity of your actions cover it well. He's impressed and takes mental note to start training you. Maybe, have you be a little more graceful with your movements.
"This one had no indication of the strength you hold." Sesshomaru states.
".......I just really fucking hate spiders." you sardonically reply.
"...Hn. Noted. This one concurs with your sentiment."
Silently, he is pleased with this discovery. A small smile graces his face after you turn away
3. Naraku
Narakus' lower demons were soooo annoying. Their existence was one that irritated you. Irritating when they sucked dick to Naraku and when they tried to be condescending towards you. Just because you were human. The audacity sent you over the edge.
The edge it sent you over was one close by. One of those things became unruly in your presence. Acting as it was better than you, the ugliness of it all. The decision to put it back in its place was swift and malicious. An example to others who felt the same.
Precise, your hand shoots out to grab the lowly yokai. Chucking it, the demon bashes against a nearby rock. It's body twitches on the ground, confused on what just occurred. Slowly, you walk over. With no urgency or care. It felt like you were Michael Myers in that moment. Once you made it over, you stare before stomping it. One more. And again. Again. Again. AGAIN. AGAIN. Until there was a crater in the dirt it crumpled in.
Naraku, some distance away, observed the scene with shocked eyes, his mouth slightly open. "This human...!"
He is pissed that you hid this information from him. And how did he miss this? He frequently spied on you, sent his wasps when he couldn't make a puppet! But now that he knows....you can be of use for him. You're a bit too....alluring to be considered a lackey, but he needed to have control over you somehow. A sly grin graces his face upon observing the aftermath. The squished gruel of guts and blood staining the ground and your shoes.
He approaches, with a questioning stare. "Y/n...pray tell, how did you aquire this power?"
"Oh, my parents had me do martial arts since I was a kid. Plus, I was angry."
All Naraku can think is how nice it was of your parents to prepare you for him and his deeds.

Inuyasha: on his greatest grief
Rereading Inuyasha again (why do i do this to myself) & got to this part... in this arc, Inuyasha's feelings was being played around and dreamt of Kikyo asking him to go with her & how widely divergent it was for Inuyasha who initially believed he had to sacrifice his life for Kikyo to Inuyasha now who fights for his life.
Inuyasha was still working through his sorrows for not being able to save Kikyo for the last time but it wasn’t that he wanted to follow her in death at all; compared to the first time we saw him so willingly throwing his life away to repay her death, that was until he met Kagome & have chosen to live [ch. 176]
And there’s Kagome who was also suffering in silence seeing Inuyasha in pain, how much courage it takes for her to say she’s not strong because she’s also in the throes of pain; that she just understands his pain & chooses to share it with him.
Inuyasha knew he had to reconcile with his agony, of his greatest loss, and he has every right to. Kagome never tried to sever that from Inuyasha because she knows how important it is for him, but instead holds his hand to bear it with her– which was what he needed the most.
Kagome, who always calls out to Inuyasha to remind him he’s no longer alone because she’s there. Always. This has allowed Inuyasha to finally be able to say that after his greatest loss, he's all right. Because he has Kagome. And there’s Inuyasha swearing by his life to protect Kagome in response, devoting his life to her.
#reflections after k#inuyasha#inukag#animanga#honestly im so insane for them#ive been for many years now and it hasnt waned at all#i love kagome soooooooo so much she is forever my girl my selfless girl

'You smell nice' — Day one of Inukag Fluff Week
Just a fun lil one-shot for day one of @inukagfluffweek! There is a hint of background SessKagu too because I love them.
Mild warning for Inuyasha's potty mouth and that should be it.
Public transportation was the bane of Inuyasha’s existence.
First of all, whichever human had come up with the idea that half the population would stuff themselves into tin cans to get themselves to and from places, following the same precise and regular schedules every single day, deserved a trip straight to hell. It was easily the dumbest fucking concept known to man, and no self-respecting demon would have agreed to it.
Then there was the fact that there were people everywhere on public transportation, and man, did Inuyasha hate people. Gross, stupid bastards with no self-awareness and no regard for others. There were the students who’d bump into you without even noticing, the women recounting their day far too loud over the phone, and, the worst of them all, the gaggle of salarymen drunk off their asses after some reunion at work. Those ones were rude, entitled, clumsy, and, what was by far the biggest offense, they fucking stank.
And that part was what took the public transport experience from shitty to downright awful. The smells. Inuyasha was no fan of cities in general, their pollution, the sheer amount of things everywhere, whether restaurants, stores, or, of course, public toilets, and, well, the people. It wasn’t always the lack of hygiene, though that was an issue for sure, but the sweat after a day of work, the deodorants, the perfumes, they all came together to produce the foulest of stenches. He hated it here.
The train veered sharply to the left, and Inuyasha tightened his hold on the overhead bar he favored using. Fewer human hands had grabbed it, and since his height meant he had no issue reaching for it, he preferred that to other solutions. In front of him, Kagome hadn’t been so lucky, standing right against the door with nothing to hold onto. With a squeak, she stumbled backwards on her kitten heels, her back colliding with Inuyasha’s broad chest — not that there was really anywhere else for her to go, with how tightly packed the train was.
His free hand closed around her hip, stabilizing her. It came naturally, just instinct, no need to think about it or how nicely her body slotted against his.
She tilted her head back, pretty eyes looking up to him pleadingly.
“Sorry, Inuyasha,” she apologized, lips forming a cute pout.
“You’re good,” he replied, voice gruff. He sent a nasty look to the man on her right, who’d bumped into her. People usually steered clear of him, so the closer she was to him, the better. “You’re getting off at the next stop, right?”
“Yeah,” she beamed, and as always, he marveled at how easy it seemed to be for her to smile and distance herself from the mess of the world around her. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t shut down the noises, the smells, the flashes of people’s screens — well, unless he had her to focus on. “I can’t wait to get home.” An eyeroll. “Today was the worst.”
A smirk tugged at his lips.
“Really? You didn’t enjoy Kagura making a scene?”
He knew he had. His sister-in-law was probably his favorite person in the family, actually, with his nieces a close second, and watching her strut into her asshole husband’s office to yell at him about him cancelling their anniversary dinner had absolutely made his day. They could never stay mad at each other very long, so he was sure a very expensive reconciliation was coming, but he’d had his fun for sure.
“No, I like Kagura,” Kagome replied. “But I got cornered by Hojo at the coffee machine and he wouldn’t stop talking about some miracle diet he thinks would cure my allergies and it took me forever to free myself.”
“Want me to do something about that? He never bothers me with that shit.”
“That’s because you terrify him,” she sighed, “so no, that’s not necessary, don’t—” Another turn, but this time he kept her pressed against him, clawed hand on her waist, and her voice barely wavered. “—worry about it. And thanks for that, Inuyasha.”
A knot formed in his throat at the way she leaned back into him without hesitation. He swallowed around it. Where most people cowered away from the hanyo, Kagome had never acted like he was a threat. Sometimes, he felt she was even a little too trusting. Made him feel and think all sorts of things he wasn’t very proud of.
“’s nothing.”
From how he stood behind her, he couldn’t help but catch her scent, especially when she moved and her hair were right under his nose.
And, fuck, she was a breath of fresh air. He’d known that from the first day she’d strolled into the office, of course, gust of wind blowing through the open door and sending her smell throughout the whole office. He didn’t know what it was, if it was the reiki he could guess at under her skin, that gave it such a pleasant flavor. Either way, it could become overwhelming even in the wide open space. Here, on the other hand, it was the perfect distraction against everything else, and it took more willpower than he’d like to admit to not just sniff at her.
“Everything okay?” she asked, catching him off guard, her big inquisitive eyes staring up at him.
“Yeah, it’s—” Damn it, he’d known she was always noticing things no one else cared about. “That’s— You smell nice,” he blurted out at last, and immediately, he wished he could slap himself in the face. What a fucking weirdo. Turned out, everyone who had told him his mouth was too big for his own good, usually before they got their asses handed to them, had been right. Couldn’t he have kept it shut this one damn time?
“Oh,” Kagome said, and her expression turned thoughtful. He waited for the inevitable judgment to fall down. “I read that demons often find perfumes difficult to deal with, so I haven’t worn any since getting hired at Taisho Inc. Is that really better for you?”
There was the knot again, but this time it wasn’t embarrassment, and rather another, deeper emotion. Of course she’d pay attention to that kind of stuff.
“Yeah, it is,” he answered, clearing his throat. “Makes it hard to be around too many people.”
“That’s good to know,” she said with a nod. “Let me know if I can do other things to help you, alright?”
He would not be telling her anything about the thoughts that were running through his mind at her proposal. Nuh-huh.
“That’s my stop,” she grinned up at him, grabbing the hand at her waist and squeezing it gently in hers. “Thank you again, Inuyasha. I’ll see you tomorrow!”
She waved at him, and a second later, she was lost in the crowd, and his world was just a little darker, duller, blander. He let his hand fall back to his side, flexing it reflexively as if to remember how it had felt, touching her.
Keh. He couldn’t believe she was making him look forward to another day in the office.
As a lot of you know, it's been ages since I last wrote for this pairing that's still near and dear to my heart, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! Don't hesitate to scream at me about it in the tags, in the reblogs, in my askbox... anywhere your heart desires lol. Thank you for reading!

inukag's conversation in ch 176... yea that one
This scene at the well in Ch 176, when Kagome asks to stay by Inuyasha, meant a lot to me… so I decided to do a whole ass formal translation for myself (which you can read at the way bottom, but it's probably not too different from what's already out there.)
While translating, I came across 3 details from the original text that I felt were super important 🤧
① Everyone knows Inuyasha said that he must "give Kikyo his life" in the official Viz translation. Yes, in the original text, Inuyasha says:
命懸けで応えなくちゃならねえ。 In return, I must stake my life for Kikyo.
But that bolded part implies that staking his life for Kikyo is not something he necessarily wants to do out of his own free will, but something that he must do beyond his own will, if that makes sense. Right here, Inuyasha conveys clearly how he feels about the matter.
If he meant to say that he chose this out of his own volition, he would've said something like "...なくちゃいけない" which implies a will out of choice... But no, he said ならない, which implies it's "out of his control", so that gives clear insight to his feelings. He's not doing this because he wants to. He wants to stay with Kagome if he could, but he thinks his duty binds his fate to Kikyo, so therefore, this must be so.
+
② Usually, Kagome is translated saying (to Inuyasha) "I want you to live." But I noticed something. She says:
"生きててほしい" ....not just "生きてほしい".
You might think, "Wha? That extra little word changes things?" HAHA well, if you care to know why... yes... bc she's using the present progressive form of that verb. So, I feel there's something missing in that translation.
Kagome doesn't just want Inuyasha to live (as in "be alive"), she wants him to keep on living. She wants to see him live past his trauma, to not give up his life. So, this is a bit of an interpretation, but I personally would translate what she's saying as "I want you to live on." Like when we wish for a friend going through hard times to not succumb to darkness :(
③ Finally, Sunrise had Kagome say something different in her final monologue (wow, what a surprise). (Note, Viz actually did translate this appropriately in the manga.)
In the anime, she just says...
楽しんでほしい。 I want you to be happy.
It's cute, but in the manga, she says...
楽しいことがあってもいい。 -> literally: It's okay to have happiness. -> It's okay (for you) to feel happy.
She's reassuring Inuyasha that it's alright to feel happiness, presumably despite his survivor's guilt. He told her at the start of their conversation, "But… to feel happy, to laugh, I shouldn't be doing these things." This is a response to that. It's so sweet.
+++
THAT'S IT!! There was A LOT of weight to this scene. It made me ugly cry until my eyes got swollen lol...
(if you'd like to read my full translation of their conversation, it is right here below~)
Note: I tried to translate as close to the original nuance of the Japanese text, so the sentence structure may sound unnatural at times.
(SFX: refreshing breeze)
Inuyasha: Kagome...
(Kagome sees him and begins to speak.)
Kagome: I thought about this the whole time I was back home. About you, Kikyo, and me…
Inuyasha: Kagome… I…
Kagome: I know. I know what your feelings are; that's why… I thought I can't be here anymore.
Inuyasha: Kagome… until I met you, I couldn't trust anyone. But you cried for my sake, you were always by my side. When I'm with you, Kagome, I feel happy. My heart is at ease. But… to feel happy, to laugh, I shouldn't be doing these things.
Inuyasha: Kikyo… she followed after me in death. In return, I must stake my life for Kikyo.
Kagome: I understand. I can't compete against her... because I still live.
Kagome: I thought about her a whole lot too. Kikyo and I, we're so completely different. Even with all this stuff about how I'm her reincarnation… well, anyway, I'm not Kikyo. My heart is my own.
Kagome: But you see, there is one thing. How Kikyo is feeling... I get it. I feel the same. We both want to see you, Inuyasha, one more time.
Kagome: You know, somehow, when I thought, "Don't Kikyo and I share the same feelings?", I became a little more at ease. Like, our feelings of wanting to see you are the same, aren't they... So, I gathered up the courage, and came to see you.
Inuyasha: Kagome… As for me, I wanted to see you too. But…
Kagome: I want to be with you*, Inuyasha. To forget about you, I can't do it.
(*T/N: She does not mean "be with you" in a romantic sense. She means to literally be near him, to exist by him, etc.)
Inuyasha: Kagome… what's the best way for me to respond to you?
Kagome: Inuyasha, let me ask you just one thing?
Inuyasha: Yeah…
Kagome: Is it okay if I stay with you?
(SFX: surprise...)
Inuyasha: You'll… stay for me?
Kagome: Yeah… (she smiles.)
Inuyasha and Kikyo's bond absolutely cannot be severed. That... I understand. But you know, Inuyasha? I thought about it… Our meeting was not just a coincidence either.
I want you to live on, Inuyasha.
Kagome: Let's go, Inuyasha.
Inuyasha: O-Oh, yeah, okay...
It's okay to feel happiness. I want you to laugh a lot. I don't know what I can do for you, but…
I will always be by your side.

@brain-rot-hour was working on a piece for today's @inukag-week prompt of Personal Space and the conversation evolved to writing about the scenario they created and here we are!
Have a citrus-scented canon universe vignette to go with brain-rot-hour's piece which you will not want to miss. 😏
“Damn monkeys," he growled. Rolling her eyes, Kagome sighed. "You always let them get to you when they aren't even youkai.” She shook her head with a wry smile. "I can't just kill ‘em. You'd make me feel all guilty.” His face was twisted in a pout, his ears laid back in frustration. “Pretty sure you'd manage to make yourself feel guilty without my help.” “Keh.” Deny it though he might, she knew she was right. He was much more of a softy than he liked to admit. “Let’s get that scratch looked at. Don’t want it getting infected.” He nudged her shoulder where his kosode draped down her arm. It was too big, but it was better than her own clothes which were in tatters from the attack.
She shut the door to the abandoned hut they’d found after herself, waiting for Inuyasha to pass one last inspection and give the nod of approval that it was safe. “Last time I let Shippou rummage through my bag unsupervised,” she grumbled, dropping said bag onto the floor. The monkeys had been attracted to the smell of fruit soaked into her clothes which the kitsune had spilled when trying to get his crayons from the bottom of her backpack. Needless to say they didn’t understand “no” and “stop that.” Kagome felt lucky that a few small scratches was all she had to show for it. Inuyasha was unfortunate enough to get bitten in the side, so they were taking the time to get cleaned up. Clean water and bandages set aside, Kagome settled herself on the edge of the table so she could get a good look at the bloodied bite just to the left of Inuyasha’s navel. His suikan had been dropped to the floor and she was met with the entire expanse of his torso. A very nice torso that has a bite in it… Swallowing, she used a soft damp cloth to clean the wound, then apologized profusely as she prepared to press the alcohol-soaked cloth to it. She flinched at the same moment he did, but not because of the sting. His large hands, previously pressed onto the tabletop on either side of her, had drifted to her knees and reflexively squeezed when he tensed. He hadn’t caused more pain. In fact… “Sorry,” he murmured. Kagome bit her lip, then went about putting the gauze and tape over his wound. “That scratch… It needs disinfected.” “I can reach it.” “Probably. What if there’s another?” Kagome sucked in a breath as his hands oh-so-carefully brushed aside the length of his kosode, baring her up to her thighs. His nose twitched. “They got your middle too, didn’t they?” “I-I can reach that.” He hummed, his face next to hers so that she couldn’t see his eyes. Kagome felt her heart racing. A shiver went through her when air hit her midriff. “Let me check.” Long warm fingers traced up across her thigh until they met her belly, which tightened at the brush. She struggled not to recoil in surprise, biting her lower lip. “Anything hurt?” A quick shake of her head. His hands returned to her legs, thumbs lightly pushing against the softer skin of her inner thighs until they parted to allow his hips between. “What about here?” he breathed, cheek brushing against hers as he spoke. “Anything stinging?” She murmured that she was fine. “Aching?” She gasped lightly in response. How did he know? She could hear the smirk in his breathy laugh. His hand brushed against the outer side of her knee, fingers curling under and lightly pressing his claws into the soft underneath. “Inuyasha?” she questioned, unable to resist the pull of his soft cheek against her own, the tiniest brush of his lips against her ear. He huffed another laugh at the way she arched into his space. “I’ll make sure there’s not a mark on you.” He paused, pressing a much more intentional kiss to the space just in front of her ear as his thumb pressed a little more into her thigh, claw providing just the slightest prick along the nerve endings. “Not from the monkeys anyway,” he promised. Kagome smiled softly.

Another quick art and ficlet for @kagomes-hanakotobamatsuri ! This one focused on Week 3, Fertility and I used the Yellow Rose (new beginnings) as my inspiration flower. I started writing this while I was pregnant 2 years ago, but didn’t get around to finishing it until now.
Title: Potatoes Word Count: 1113 Rating: T Pairing: Inukag Warnings: Pregnancy
Try as she might, Kagome couldn’t help the uncontrollable (and unreasonable) flood of negative emotions that came with her unfulfilled pregnancy craving.
Wacdonald’s, of all things. Of course she was craving one of the most unobtainable foods possible in Sengoku and one of the easiest to find in her modern Tokyo.
She didn’t really feel regret at leaving the modern world behind, not with Inuyasha and a life of friends and nature to surround her, and yet…
Kagome found herself seething in angry tears. Angry at her body, angry at her attitude, angry at life. While she was always an emotional person, this hormone-induced storm was driving her crazy. She felt everything stronger, and no amount of logic or sleep was pulling her out of it because when she really really thought about it, it was all so unfair. She was raging at the world for making her choose between one family and another. The past was her future, and the future was now her past. But why did she have to choose? Why couldn’t she have a child with the love of her life and introduce her baby to her mother and grandfather and brother? Her righteous sorrow and her selfish cravings swirled into an indistinguishable mass of feelings. One second there was joy, another pain, the next irrepressible annoyance. She was guilty that she felt this way, upset as a tantruming toddler over a greasy burger and salty fried potatoes.
And ultimately she was sad to be so far from her mother.
Her thoughts turned to her poor husband.
Inuyasha had been very sweet since she’d gotten back, and her pregnancy ramped up his doting completely. From warming her bath, to fetching her the ripest fruits, to building her the most comfortable approximation of a mattress possible, she felt spoiled and grateful. But her pregnancy-addled brain and hormonal body had her feeling so at odds with her heart. She loved being here. She loved her friends and the family they found in each other. She loved Inuyasha.
Yet she longed for the crepes at the Shinjuku station mall, ice cream from a stand, steak from the grocery store cooked at home… her mouth was practically a waterfall at the thought. But by far the biggest craving was a Wacdonald’s cheeseburger with extra cheese and a side of fries dipped in ketchup. Make that two sides of fries. She could cry thinking about it, which she knew was stupid.
It didn’t help that so many things made her feel nauseous. She’d helped out with pregnant mothers before, giving them herbs to help, learning from Kaede the rough timeline. She’d given reassurances and her best empathy, but in the throes of morning sickness Kagome wished to strangle her past naivety—and as much as she adored Kaede, the woman never actually had to go through pregnancy.
Sango helped the most, understanding her anger, giving practical advice to give her the slightest relief. After all, carrying the twins had been an ordeal.
But Kagome was tired of ginger root and plain rice.
She was tired in general. It has been such a joy to find out she was pregnant, and the first few weeks were a breeze. Then the morning sickness kicked in and subsequently kicked her ass. Morning sickness. God, it was unending sickness. Any time of the day sickness! She huddled under her blanket, willing the fatigue and nausea away.
Then Inuyasha emerged from the door with her requested pile of potatoes. His look was apprehensive. He wanted to help her in any way he could, knowing that his wife often repressed cries for her mother.
“I scrubbed ‘em already, and the pan’s good to go.”
“Thank you, Inuyasha.”
“I’ll cut ‘em too. It’s supposed to be like sticks, right?”
She nodded. “Not too thin though.” Her husband was really good with a knife. She might be envious of his skills if he wasn’t such a good partner.
Before he could start chopping, she stopped him. “Wait! Maybe cubes are better. They’ll move around the pan more easily.”
“‘Kay,” he replied easily.
Kagome stifled a groan as she slowly got up. Inuyasha had set the pan to heat already, so all she had to do was add the oil.
“This look alright?” Inuyasha asked, checking in with her about the size.
“Those look good.”
Something about the sound of him chopping away triggered something. Everything triggered some emotion or another—but the domestic simplicity of their lives came at her full force as she heard the rhythmic sounds of their knife hitting their wooden chopping block.
“It’s wonderful,” she whimpered, tears gathering in her eyes.
“Woah, woah!” The hanyou turned around in concern, his hand immediately at her back to try to comfort her. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah,” she lifted her head and sobbed, unable to hold it back. “It’s just the hormones, but I do think you’re wonderful. I’m so lucky to have you!” she wailed.
His entire being was on high alert since she got pregnant, and even though he knew emotional outbursts were bound to happen, he still went into overdrive trying to make sense of it and fix whatever he could. “T-thanks.”
“Thank you for getting me potatoes so we could try making fries. I’m sorry I’m probably going to hate it or throw it up but it’s the closest thing I have to Wacdonald’s.” She wiped her face with her sleeve and sniffled.
“I told you, woman, I’ll do anything I can. I’m sorry we don’t got wako’s or whatever here.”
“I’m being unreasonable.”
“It’s normal. You know it is. I know it is. You shoulda seen Miroku while Sango was having her cravings. Damn near swindled every ingredient from every vendor in every town just to find something she couldn’t remember the name of.”
Kagome gave a watery laugh. “That makes me feel better.”
“We’ll make something good, and if you hate it and retch I’ll make you two something else.”
‘Us two,’ Kagome thought in awe, placing her hand on her belly. “We appreciate you.” She sent him a smile and got on her tiptoes to kiss his jaw.
“Yeah, yeah. If you’re done, I’m going to go finish cutting now,” he brushed off, trying to hide his blush as he turned around.
“Okay, but we’re following you,” Kagome declared. As her husband resumed chopping the rest of the potatoes, she wrapped her arms around his middle and rested her cheek against his back.
“I’m gonna be done in five seconds, you know.”
“Go slower.”
Inuyasha rolled his eyes, but the quick beat of the chopping slowed to a different, sweeter ballad, and Kagome hummed contentedly along.

Inuyasha with Child!nb reader!!
No warnings just pure fluff :3 !! Word count : forgor..
• At the beginning, Inuyasha wasn’t fond of you at all LMFAOOO just thought you were a brat who he couldn’t shake off no matter hard he tried. Sigh…
• He found you a few days after kagome (not so) accidentally broke the sacred jewel. He was so upset because that was his literal one way ticket to becoming a full fledged demon :( bro was just tryna survive 😞
• Fun fact: you had a shard of the jewel he was coining for …..Little ol’ you didn’t know where It came from, it just landed on your hand. You didn’t know what it was or the trouble it was gonna bring you in the near future..
Tiny <Y/N>.. just skipping around with nothing better to do.. Hapoily making their way to the small creek, unsuspecting of the (JOY!!) Doom that was slowly creeping towards them.
Crouched down, hands wide open as they were originally positioned to be washed with the cool water below them. Then PLOP!! Came a strange looking pink rock. Intrigued , toy simply held it tighter and brought it closer o your big doe eyes. Ohh!! This must be a blessing from the heaves right??
Excitedly you jumped right up! Running towards your little area a little farther from the creek. You just had the right naturals to make it into some fancy piece of accessory!!
As quick as your hands could work, you successfully made a wooden beaded bracelet! Oh how exciting. <Y/N> was clearly proud of their work that they had to show it off to the animals near!!
And they did just that. For a few hours before a strange looking man with white hair and a Woman dressed in clothing you never seen before.. Strange why was he??
He was running and yelling at you.. RUNNING?? HE WAS RUNNING TOWARDS YOU???
•(middle) After that little bizarre encounter the strange woman just yelled “Sit” and he just came crashing down. Oof,,
•She apologized for the rude behavior of her.. her friend? They didn’t look or act like friends. They kept bickering back and fourth till their hearts content.. strange indeed.
•somehow she explained that the jewel you had was really really important to her. So like any other kid would do you felt like you stole something and your heart fucking dropped to your toes. Guilt slowly ate you whole as you kept saying ‘Sorry’ and ‘I didn’t know’ kept slipping from your mouth as you forced the bracelet you worked so hard off.
•Obviously you gave it to her and she was beyond joyful. Way to go!! You saw them on their way but you followed. Just.. just kept following the two.
•Why? Probably due to the guilt still imaging at your back.. but BUT!! The black haired woman didn’t mind, finding your actions adorable while the white haired man.. just looked at you with a scowl..
“Did we have to bring the kid??” The white haired man groaned but the black women just ignored him. Just flatly ignored him.
• you tracked with them for a bit and you finally figured out their names! Kagome and Inuyasha, The priests and the Half demon! A few friends tagged along! A monk and a Woman with a demon fox.
•The group was fond of you, enjoying your company and innocence. One might dare say the infamous half breed was finally growing on you! He didn’t give you the cold shoulder anymore. Good thing right?? He would always keep a keen eye on you making sure nothing you couldn’t handle happens. Letting you sleep near him when it was his duty to do night watch!
• it was like a new bond starting growing. A sibling like bond you had always dreamed of having and so did he.. Inuyasha kept you in front of him at all times as you traveled! Making sure your well fed and healthily (you would catch him dead before he came willingly admitted he favored you a little more than others)
“Hurry it up <Y/N>. The quicker we move the faster the jewel shards become ours.” He’d say as you ate your lunch. He was sitting beside you, tilting his head as his eyes squinted. “Longer we’re stuck here the more walking we gotta do so hurry it up why won’t cha!”
The white haired man complained, it was silly seeing such a person rushing a child to eat.
It was simple moments like these that would make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Feeling like you truly found a friend.
• (end) When Naraku became a problem you bet your ass Inuyasha was conflicted in keeping you here in the team or just dropping you off in some human village to keep you safe. You were like a little sibling to him. He needed to protect you or he was actually gonna lose it..
• bro was literally stuck to you like glue. HE WAS NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES.
• He held you dearly to his heart, your the second human to ever see him in such a state. He couldn’t live with himself if you got hurt..
• It was clear to the group you had more privileges being with him. They thought it was just because you were a kid and all but until shippo came it was just clear favoritism.
• he would allow YOU to randomly play with his hair, to sit in his lap as you took a nap. To hold him close to you at night if you had a nightmare.
•You were like a fresh breeze of air he needed. You were a glint of hope to him, a reminder that humans aren’t all so bad.
“<Y/N>, don’t go to far alright. Huh? No im not worried just making sure your little ass doesn’t get hurt.”
The half demon would say with softened eyes. It was a privilege to see him like this. It was just pure luck that your relationship turned out the way it was.
A happy family bond you would never trade for the world.

(May)Be Mine? by @fandomobsessions016 (E)
To win a bet, Kagome and Inuyasha team up to convince their closest friends that they are not at all interested in each other. Not... at... all. Totally platonic. One hundred percent.

Atelier by CloudsCloudlet (E)
Kagome doesn’t wait tables because she cares about it, or because she feels some kind of calling to serve food. She does it because she’s an artist who hasn’t quite made enough of a name for herself to quit her day job, and because working in one of San Francisco’s finest restaurants means she makes enough money to survive.
When the famous Chef Inuyasha Taisho takes over in the kitchen he's grating and rude and Kagome instantly hates him. Until he starts showing up to her gallery showings, and to drinks with her coworkers. She soon realizes she may be powerless to resist him.

Inuyasha wants to go skiing. Kagome wants to stay at the lodge, read her book, and drink hot chocolate. When Inuyasha finally convinces her to hit the slopes, things don't go as planned, and Inuyasha and Kagome deal with the implications...together.

The One With All the Kissing by @jeremymarsh (M)
“The half-demon appeared in the hallway, looking furtively left and right as if he expected someone to materialize at any moment and to be caught red-handed. Once he made sure he was alone, he closed the door behind him and stared at the one with the number 20 on it. In a second, he crossed the hall, knocked and entered, all the while maintaining a furtive stance and an agitated expression on his face. He breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the sound of the lock turning, and only then did he turn towards the apartment’s sole occupant. “Did anyone see you?” she asked, startled, as if afraid of the answer. “Clear,” was his reply, moving so close that there was hardly any space between them. “Perfect,” Kagome continued, replacing her concerned frown with a mischievous smile. At that point, oblivious to any fear she had had up to that instant, she concentrated only on him. She rested a hand on his chest and lifted her face to meet his golden eyes. “Perfect,” Inuyasha echoed before he captured her lips in a kiss, leading her towards the bedroom.”
Or: Inuyasha and Kagome get in trouble as they try to hide their relationship from their friends.

Sometimes you just need a break from the grind. Despite the name, the study group was formed as a way to relax from the stress and demands of college. The only rule: don't get attached. Do you think Kikyo should’ve been nicer to Kagome and thanked her for all those times she saved her? Some of the fandom even thinks she owed her Spiritual training as well, what do you think?
To me, the thing about Kagome and Kikyo's rivalry is that it felt very one sided. Obviously, they both had extremely valid reasons to hate each other's guts at first — reasons that go beyond Inuyasha —, but Kikyo was the only one actually acting on it.
And she kept doing it even after Kagome has proved, time and time again, that she can be trusted and that she is in no way deserving of Kikyo's hatred.
I think that was a great dynamic because Kagome and Kikyo parallel each other so well: while Kagome was strugling with her own feelings in order to understand Kikyo's and accept her as a part of Inuyasha's life...
...Kikyo was fighting to do the exact opposite and hold on to her grudge. You can tell it by the way she can recognize what Kagome's true intentions were but still belittle her for it and refuse to say anything nice to her face.
It's a extremely compelling "yin and yang" sort of thing that worked very well at the start. What happened was that, at a certain point, Kagome has done so much for Kikyo that any ressentment towards her just felt a little ridiculous.
And I'm not even saying Kikyo should've been nicer and thanked Kagome. I think it's perfectly okay for a female character to dislike another. They don't have to be friends just because they're women, especially when there's so much bad blood between them.
In fact, I don't think there's room for a canon friendship there without it feeling awkward and forced — even though Kagome was obviously trying. I also think Kikyo being nice and thanking Kagome would be out of character and honestly a little underwhelming.
After everything that happened, a simple "thank you" doesn't even begin to cover. And as much as Kagome deserved to hear it, she didn't do anything because she wanted to be the better person or for Kikyo to be in debt with her. She did it because she's a good person and therefore will always do the right thing.
In my opinion, it wasn't exactly to Kagome that Kikyo owed anything, but to the narrative, as a way to earn her so called redemption by being held accountable for her actions, which she never really was.
Rather than Kikyo being nicer to Kagome, I think it would've been much better for both characters if Kagome was allowed to tell Kikyo off every now and then without it being an illusion.
And rather than Kikyo thanking Kagome, it would've been way more natural and meaningful for her to die saving Kagome's or Inuyasha's life instead of Kohaku's. It would've shown more regret and gratitude than any words ever could. Everything would come full circle — since she tried to kill them both while they were only trying to save her — and her closure would feel actually earned.
As for the spiritual training thing, I see where people are coming from and in another universe I think it would've been totally cool for them to have a dynamic like Aang and Roku had in Avatar, but again: it doesn't really work in canon.
More importantly: it goes against a theme that was introduced very earlier in the show, which is Kagome being her own person, doing her own thing, aside from Kikyo.
We literally see her trying to channel Kikyo's powers and failing...
...Then just being herself and succeeding:
If anyone was obligated to train her, that's Kaede, but particularly I like the idea of Kagome being self taught and making the moves up as she goes even better. I think it adds a lot to her character, I just wished Takahashi had explored it properly.
Plus, let's be honest: Kagome was doing a fine job on her own. Kikyo was the one making her life a thousand times harder by coming up with those nonsensical plans. In the end of the day it wasn't Kagome who needed Kikyo to defeat Naraku, but rather Kikyo who needed Kagome.
That being said, if Kikyo were to be nicer and thank someone, I think that person should've been Inuyasha and I will die on this hill. He was risking everything he had because she guilt tripped him into thinking he owed it to her.
"You came for me, that is enough" was not a thank you nor an apology. I can understand her reluctance when it comes to Kagome, but I can't justify her treatment of Inuyasha. Not when she was supposed to love him.

Hello! Idk if u do translations analysis anymore. But there’s this one line on chapter 473, “the one you most loved” I wonder if that’s what the demon really said or if it’s just like when kikyo died? Not the most, but the first? Thank you!
I still do when people ask!
I’ve never seen this scene translated as anything other than “most”, but let’s look at the original Japanese text:
The second bubble says:
この世で一番愛していた女がー
kono yo de ichiban aishiteita hito ga
"The person you loved most in the world..."
The breakdown:
この世 (kono yo) - this world
で (de) - [particle] in
一番 (ichiban) - first place, #1; the best; the most
愛していた (aishiteita) - to love (notice 愛 (ai) in there), the -いた (ita) indicates past tense, so “loved”
女 (onna) - woman / ひと (hito) - person
が (ga) - [particle]
The part you were asking about is the 一番 (ichiban) which does somewhat mean “first”, but as in “first place”. Which is probably best describe as “best”.
We’ve discussed this scene a lot in the fandom, but to reiterate, Kao is a demon that feeds on sadness. This scene is happening right after Kikyo’s final and permanent death, and the nth time that Inuyasha failed to protect her from Naraku. Kao cannot feel Inuyasha’s love for Kagome at that moment because Kagome has only ever been a source of happiness for Inuyasha, not a source of pain like his love for Kikyo.
That is the whole point of this arc, Inuyasha did love Kikyo, but his love for Kagome always makes him choose to stay with her and live instead of succumbing to guilt and dying. Inuyasha already made the same choice before when Kikyo had him under a spell and was trying to drag him to hell, and again in the illusionary death arc. We know Kao is wrong in his assumption that Kikyo is the woman he loved most, because if she was, Inuyasha wouldn’t have hesitated to follow her in that peaceful vision Kao showed him. If he wanted to follow Kikyo, he could have ignored Kagome’s voice and make the choice to be in the afterlife with Kikyo anyway. But he didn’t, and the fact that he was able to wake up shocked Kao, who thought he had figured out what Inuyasha wanted.
In general, a lot of characters make assumptions about other characters in the series, based on their limited knowledge of that person. Sometimes, villains make statements intentionally trying to hurt the person they are targeting, like here. The only person who truly knows what Inuyasha is feeling is Inuyasha himself, and he explicitly said himself that he was born to be with Kagome.

May I please request headcanons for Bruce, Damian, Dick, Jason, and Tim With an s/o who is a cat lover? <3 🐈💗🎀 ( When you can or have time :3 )
Omg of course anon ♥️
Tim
He grew up with a dog and cat for years until his parents died and the animals were given away
He knew right after meeting you how much of a big animal lover you were after you found a cat and despite some of the team being cautious mostly because some of them had never seen a cat up close or knew what they were until others explained it to them
Slowly with time the orange cat you found became the team pet and you all named him Alfredo and he was everyone's furry friend always going around for pets and sounding like he talked to everyone
Not too long after the two of you started dating you had thought about getting a pet to help not only with your depression but for both yours and tim's anxiety but you waited for awhile and soon you both got a white cat you named milkshake from her love of ice cream
The two of you would lay on the floor or one of your beds reading or watching tv petting her while she purrs gently making biscuits on the blanket or one of you feeling the quiet bliss
Dick
He was a natural animal lover for as long as he can remember trying to bring home every stray he found and take care of them even when bruce found out and reluctantly let him have the animal or keep it for a few days before taking it to the local no kill shelter
He immediately fell in love with both your cats Buttermilk and Cookie who you had for years since you were 12 cookie being given to you as a Christmas present from your grandparents and buttermilk from your older sister on your birthday
The two of you both found strays and would take them to the shelter after nursing them back to health or give them to friends or your family members
He soon surprised you with a small kitten he found that the two of you named Kagome from your love of japanese animes
Jason
He always had a soft spot for animals having his own dog Ace who always helped him with life and his own mental state after all he went through
He also developed a bond with your calico kitten named Mitten who always liked to sleep on your chest or belly under the covers and soon she started sleeping in jay's hoodie sleeves and beside his neck
The next thing you knew that sometimes you would get pictures from Dick or Tim with him holding a stray cat or asleep on a roof with a kitten in his jack making you smile saving every picture
Damian
He had quite a bit of pets growing up and still had some of them including his dog Titus who he had ever since being under Bruce's care and training
He immediately had a bond with your orange cat Pancake and was always petting or holding the cat or even sharing abit of his food with him whenever you weren't looking
After awhile of the two of you being together and moving in to a house you surprised him with a new cat you got from the shelter that he ended up naming Iris due to one eye being brown and the other being yellow
And both of the cats got along well even sleeping on your pillows when the two of you were asleep one sleeping beside you and the other beside him
Bruce
He liked animals he just never really had any growing up he can say that he only had 3 pets throughout his life all of them when he was younger
The first one being a hamster his parents got him for his birthday that he had two years before they died, the second one was from Alfred a couple of months after his parents died and that one was a rabbit that helped him quite a bit,and the last one was when he was a teenager that used to be his friend's pet but couldn't care for it anymore and the last one was a rat
You decided as a surprise for his birthday even though you had only been together for 4 months to get him a cat that you thought would help him
When he saw the fluffy brown cat in your lap he was confused but over the next while he soon was holding the cat and even named it brownie
Soon the cat was stuck to him from sleeping next to him, rubbing his leg in the batcave,or even just playing with his cape which made you giggle

I always think about Inuyasha’s process of healing & how far he has come from initially being at sea with his lingering grief & sorrow & guilt from Kikyo’s demise, convinced he was undeserving of a smidge of hope nor to be in the great hands of Kagome’s heart as he needs to repay Kikyo with his life— even though he has started to find peace through Kagome’s presence. Like, “Kagome was born so I could meet her and I was born for her” was insane. He is responding to Kagome’s resolve in 176 and acknowledging when she said even though she is Kikyo’s reincarnation she is her own person & owns her heart.
Inuyasha has always known he had to settle his own pain first so he could finally face his love for Kagome… from “I am not supposed to be happy and have fun” to Kagome taught me to live around it & learn I can be loved & I can love in so many ways and forms by & with the people I hold dear and Kagome held his hand through it all…
Rumi was right, the wound (Inuyasha’s pain) is the place where the Light (Kagome) enters you.
#reflections after k#inuyasha#inukag#im gonna start collating my thoughts n posting them on tumblr#i love them sm ur honour#animanga
