as a woman who grew up with an emotionally abusive mother constantly telling me I needed to wear more makeup/more revealing clothing/date (boys) more/go out to "normal" parties more, I despise "she should be at the club"

god forbid some people- especially young women, who already have to deal with a thousand different behavioral standards from a thousand different directions -not have the same dreams and desires for their lives as you do for yours

fucking hell. the correct response to "women should stay at home and have kids and be submissive wives" prescriptivism was not MORE PRESCRIPTIVISM

(I also just saw a poll asking if people partied as teenagers, and OP responded that the answers were "killing them" because No was winning. like? why is everyone so personally invested in other people having a very specific kind of fun?)

young people these days hating on older people for being in fandoms, thinking it’s weird, calling them hags never ceases to amaze me because when I was younger I always looked up to older people online. Even now when I look at older people online like if I see 60+ year olds in fandoms, on sns I’m always in awe. It’s truly so beautiful to me, as someone who’s been quite depressed and suicidal, it brings me great comfort that the future might be bright. Aging doesn’t have to be scary. Life is meant to be enjoyed! you don’t have to give up on things that make you happy as you age.

being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?

While it's true that mandatory identity verification will inevitably be leaked on a massive scale, the thing you need to understand when framing these arguments is that a lot of the folks in favour of such measures don't see that as a bad thing. Full de-anonymisation of the Internet is their explicit goal. Like, the actual objective here is for everyone to have a public record of everything they say and do – online or otherwise – linked to their government ID. The universal panopticon is the good ending as far as these people are concerned.

Bardock's Second: The Triumph Of Nurture

Just like his brother Raditz, Goku was shipped off from birth to a "weak" planet so that he could destroy it. However, things did not go as planned. Goku lost his memory due to injury and fell into the hands of Grandpa Gohan.

He was meant to be a brute saiyan but he was nutured and cared for as if he was human. Goku became kind, loving and caring...he met people he wanted to protect, he became the complete opposite of his brother Raditz whom he offered a chance at redemption. And so he resolved to take his brother's life for the sake of a world he was meant to destroy...
