while studying azandar's uesp page for fic purposes, I stumbled upon this:

which seems innocent enough at first glance, but hold on. excuse me?? bag??? now I have to know, does tamriel have single-use tea bags?

or, more likely, they'd use something reusable made from cotton or silk, like real-world iterations from the early 1900s. typically, modern tea bags are single-serving, which historically did alter the culture around tea! previously, it was (generally speaking) a communal thing, where you'd make a pot to be shared by more than one person. here, it sounds like perhaps he's making a single cup, which wouldn't have been unheard of, but is still an interesting detail. am I over-analyzing a throwaway line about tea that was probably just a tiny writing oversight? yes <3

I have to imagine that in tamriel, different cultures have different methods, and there's got to be some Steaming Hot Discourse over these methods. maybe tea bags are more common in some provinces and balked at in others.

anyways, I don't know what to do with this information, but thought it was interesting and wanted to share!
