I don’t really have all of the lore for this AU fleshed out, but this is lowkey a boost for me to try to work on it more and make it the best that it can be!

Yes, Manic and Scourge are the same hedgehog in this, Scourge being a persona Manic adopts after a fall from what grace he had. Granted I’m not sure if it’s out of anger or jealousy over Sonic’s reputation or perhaps both, but yea Manic gets whatever the opposite of a redemption arc is called.

As I said things are a little blurry BUT! My ask box is always open : ) (apologies for Anons being disabled, but I’ve seen people use that feature to bully some of my moots and if anyone tries that shit I wanna be able to block em pronto. Negativity and causing problems just ‘cause has no place here.)

Okay I’m back in my bullshit and I’m gonna make all of you see it!

Dose anyone think about how traumatic getting your powers are if you aren’t born into the empowered society? Like seriously messed up it is?

Lasko ran away-like not even counting in that laskos parents were bad, he still was miserable! He knew something was wrong, that something was up with him. He hid himself away and was isolated. And for other people, getting their powers is amazing! A cause for celebration, a party!! Pats on the shoulders and hugs!

People who don’t have that privilege? It’s a coin toss of what’s going to happen to them. Some run away, others are forced to play pretend before they snap and run, some can be hurt, others exploited, called crazy or insane. And that’s just a few things I can think of :(

Just the inherent lack of information out there leads to extremely high risks of people being hurt or worse and I get why they hide. It’s magic, it’s powerful and it’s dangerous but holy shit. What’s worse, a few people taking advantage of magic or letting hundreds if not thousands of uninformed people get hurt and risk covert anyway—I mean holy shit closeknit exist anyway and taking advantage of humanborns/people who don’t know SHIT

I’m not saying that the empowered world should go public, now or never who’s to say. But I AM saying is to put some things in place so it’s easier for those not born in the know to get help and be properly educated about what’s happening to them or a loved one. Especially in big cities, like dahlia.

Just a "what if" type situation: If there wasn't a character with the same name already, Noah's Cybertronian name would be Novastorm. Nova- sounds like Noah. Storm-in reference to both the storm that happened when Unicron showed up on Earth's doorstep and a recent update to his character in regards to special weaponry.

But

1) the names taken by a canonical character

2) he's not getting a Cybertronian name lol. Bros keeping his real name lmao

POLITICAL ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS ARE BACK BABAY

thinking abt my "shadow has the worst cottagecore experience of his life" au....

Sonic Forces; Episode Shadow is a little different, because it ends with Infinite trapping Shadow in a reality bubble. To get him out of the way and to torture him basically. (Eggman said No Killing and Infinite grumbled. hes planning to do it when the Doctor isn't looking)

Shadow wakes up with his memories a little scrambled and Maria and The Professor are there. So instantly his Wrong feeling is in full force. He Knows theyre not supposed to be here. That he's not supposed to be near the cozy little cottage... but he can't exactly remember... what he was supposed to be doing otherwise.

He finds out very quickly that if he doesn't play along, the peacefulness warps into something horrific. Maria will be covered in blood and dead eyed; and Gerald will have that look to him, the crazy mad scientist look he had when he discovered Maria was dead and messed with Shadow's brain before he was put in cryostasis.

Shadow cannot leave the cottage area. There is a huge circle of forests. He Knows he should be doing something else, but everytime he tries to think of it, his head starts hurting and he has to sit down.

Outside the bubble, The world is being taken over by Eggman and Infinite. Sonic has been captured, and a large majority of the public thinks Shadow has betrayed them (despite it being just the Phantom copies)

while on his own, Tails finds Omega and manages to fix him, and Rouge has been looking for Shadow for Months. Tails, Rouge and Omega team up to find Shadow, as it's obvious the copies aren't him, and they're worried. Plus, having Shadow back would very much help in their fight.

they find the bubble by tracking the Phantom energy, and they manage to get Shadow's attention long enough for him to have a panic attack and pass out. They can't get in, so they regroup

They return to the resistance so tails can use the tech there, and brings the others up to speed. Shadow is trapped in a reality bubble that is playing on and abusing his traumas to keep him there. They took pictures.

The Rookie had been sent up to get Sonic at this point, so they wait for them to return. When they do, a plan is made.

Sonic grabs a chunk of the prototype ruby the resistance gathered during the war, and with Rouge and Omega, runs full force at the barrier. The others are watching through drones and little cameras, so they also know what's happening. plus they have their own chunks of ruby in case back up is needed. (maybe tails makes some tech idk. he would. I can't rlly describe What they do exactly. but they get in.)

With their arrival, Shadow panics again. Gerald and Maria are nice and hospitable to Shadow's friends, but there is that feeling of Wrong and Danger overlaying everything. Sonic tries to be like "oh we just need to borrow shadow for a second don't worry." but gerald and Maria disagree.

"Shadow's retired, you see." Gerald places a hand on Shadow's head, and the hybrid flinches hard. The Professor barely acknowledges it, or the fact Shadow has started trembling. "Saving the world is too much stress for the boy."

"Plus, we made cookies! He can't leave before he tries them!" Maria grins, and it sends a prickling feeling through everyone.

Rouge tries to be like. "It's uh. very important. we really need him."

Eventually it's like a coralline thing, where Maria and Gerald turn more monstrous. And the cosy cottage turns into a horror funhouse resident evil type thing. Maria is covered in her own blood and her arms are Far too long, and Gerald is even taller and has medical equipment, and is talking like his mad self.

Shadow tries to help fight but. He can't hurt them. He can't. He covers his face and curls up into a ball. His friends have to fight.

Sonic grabs Shadow while Omega opens fire. The others almost join in but Rouge tells them no. the place is warping and twisting and we don't need even more people to get lost in here.

Sonic drags Shadow to the edge, but the terrain extends and shifts, and then theyre in the ARK hallway with the alarms blaring, and gun soldiers are behind them, and-

Maria grabs Shadow, digging her sharp extended fingers into his skin, and screams at him about letting her die. Shadow sobs, there's a gunshot, and then the room shifts again, and its Gerald's cell.

Sonic is still holding Shadow's hand. Shadow is still sobbing, and Gerald shouts at him. You did this, you monster, I never should've created you.

and then he starts talking about his revenge plan, and Shadow finds himself strapped to a table. Sonic tries to get him out, but Maria grabs him and forces him to watch.

Gerald is repeating exactly what he said when he first saw shadow again after the ark incident. about how this is the only option, and Maria would forgive them, but we need to remember what they took from us. Maria deserves revenge, and the planet deserves to die for letting this happen. Shadow cries and shakes his head, pleading with the professor to stop this, but Gerald continues.

"It's alright. You just don't remember.. I'll fix that." and He pulls out the medical tools to start messing with Shadow's brain.

And then he is riddled with bullets from Omega. And rouge swoops in with a kick to Maria. Sonic unstraps shadow and they all fucking book it.

While they're running, they hear black dooms voice, about promise time and his Destiny, and a bunch of other shit he said in shadow 05 and shadow gens. yknow.

They try to run through the barrier, but because the bubble is literally feeding off of Shadow's memories and energy, Shadow literally can't leave. Sonic even tries to give shadow the prototype ruby Shard to counteract the regular ruby, but it's too much.

They need to find the centre of the bubble. The anchor keeping it there.

They run through the messed up warping looping landscape, and through ARK hallways and Black Comet rooms, and they eventually make their way to The Centre.

There is an empty room, with a table in the middle, and a picture. It's the picture from the back of Gerald's diary. That's the centre.

Shadow is the only person who can touch it, and he sobs. He has to destroy it. He has to see them go, again. ripped away from him. Maria and Gerald grab his friends, hurting them.

Shadow squeezes his eyes shut and slams the picture down, shattering it. Reality around them cracks, and Maria and Gerald screech, reaching for Shadow with pleading cries. And then they disappear, and the landscape disappears. And they're in an empty clearing in the forest.

Shadow is quiet as everyone is checked over for injuries. He doesn't look at anyone. He silently joins the fight against the eggman empire.

(and then infinite betrays eggman and tries to destroy the world, but he's beaten swiftly by super sonic and the day is saved.)

shadow is forced to go to So Much Therapy after this.

I’m cross-posting this from Twitter before my confidence runs out on me. 

So I mentioned this in passing a while back but I think I’m ready to give this a shot. I’m changing my name from OC to Riot and would love it if people can refer to me as Riot. I’ve been going by OC since forever - literally 24 odd years now I think.

But for the last couple of years the name didn’t really click the way it used to. I’ve gone through a lot of changes and general frustrations that make me feel a disconnection to how I used to be and just wanting to refresh myself. Riot feels like my general mindset so it just clicks better for me. 

As for my RL name I’m still messing around with it, so for now having a nickname works best for me. I’m not gonna be too fussed if people forget, like I said I’ve had this name for 24+ years. Just bare with me while I assert myself on that lol
