#my characters #oops i fell in love #i love brentholomew the bard #brent just deadpanning his support is wonderful and karen appreciates it a lot #because hey man brents hilarious esp due to the dryness and she really loves chatting with him #so having him as her support for bardic inspiration so she can murder just brings her so much joy #right and karen probably hype him up in game as a petty rivalry to paul and his npc hot bardtender #like yeah you might have your npc of your crush but WE have the better bard look hes wonderful #hes practically glowing look at him paul do you see the superior bard #and brent is just staring at paul and paul is staring back and they both dont know what to say in the situation #bc what is there to say? i prefer the npc? or maybe point out that the four are literally in a party together?#like sure hb is an npc but paul is actively running around in game with brent and like.... what do you say #brent doesnt actually want to point out theyre in the same group bc then karen and right will stop antagonizing paul #and honestly nothing against paul but its fun to watch him get quiet and confused #chris is off to the side begging them all to focus on the actual campaign - they can hype brent up later please just focus #which is a nice contrast to right having to play responsible adult at the police station #now chris has to wrangle the other adults and also keep them focused good luck!#i love brent a lot im totally biased bc hes my depression as an oc C:#so he means a lot to me and his lack of socialness and his childhood emotional neglect is a la my experiences #like brents my depression and rights my anxiety #smoosh them together and theyre soul mates haha how very ace of me as ive said before #but also i main bard in ffxiv when i play which is also possibly the bias for brent to be a bard in the dnd au #gang im so tired

Ummm yeah self indulgent au based on me wanting to draw Albin as a witch from Witch Hat Atelier.

Current idea: Sol had forbidden magic done on him by Paetina Glenbottle (brimhat) as a kid (which turns him into a frog thing) then was abandoned as a failure until apprentice Albin found him and they continued to have the wackiest life of “Uh oh! I need to hide my best friend while completing my training!” because Albin is basically breaking magic law by being besties with Sol and keeping him hidden.

I rlly thought I was gonna disappear after my last post but today I locked tf in blacked out and this au came up.

#my art #wc oc #squints. its been a dogs age since ive posted anything wc oc related #oc #BUT YA!!!! these guys are old. i think i made cicadahop 2018-2019 but i could be wrong/i have no way of checking haha #and scallopstar was made 2020.? i think? both are vaaastly different #if i were to play them today i think id keep a lot of things the same for cicada. shes just a silly girl who wants to make friends and #and be kind. as for scallopstar. i think id change a lot #one reason: ive gotten a lot better (I HOPE) with storytelling now that ive been playing dnd for a well over a year #and since i also run two different campaigns. two: i have more experience writing a character with an arc that turns them into a villain #three: i was really going through it at the time so. erm. LMFAO plus i was like 16 so ANDKJFGNJDFHBGJH #but yeah!!! kinda crazy looking at my old art and seeing how much ive improved #also a weird feeling to draw them again but not a Bad weird feeling. been doing a lot of reminiscing #thank god we can copy/paste tags bc if i had to rewrite this all id be so sad HAHA #the crop was weird so i wanted to fix it before it was too late lol #since these 2 are ocs im not gonna indicate this was a request the same way i will with the other requests lol

Wow we just finished our Curse of Strahd campaign!! We actually played it all the way through to the end!! Amazing!!

#I took Escher and Anastrasya back home to the city with me and we all have a townhouse together #and I set Blinski up with an arts patronage as well #all my blorbos accounted for #one of our party members made a deal with a different entity and created another alternate reality barovia that he’s the dread lord of now #I did burst into tears when he just like turned and walked away from us at the end #like no that’s my buddy :(#and now Ezmeralda is hunting him #I (warlock) beat Volenta to death with my bare hands lol #Ireena did get married to Strahd but she’s good now and she’s the baroness/queen/whatever of Barovia #all is mostly well except for that other dread domain that exists now 😬#curse of strahd #ahhhh it’s just so exciting to finish a campaign!!!!!#dnd #woah nellie

#this is in relation to dnd lol #i was trying out a new group and the dm seemed nice enough #and ive been interested in playing bards for a while so i said i might play one #and he went hard on ''oh you're the face you're the face'' and im like what if i just like the concept and don't want to be the face #is that ok my guy #and then i got scared out of playing a bard because im like oh well sometimes i just dont know what to say in a situation #and i just listen to other people talk so clearly i cant play a bard #but i was watching a dnd youtuber and she was talking about shy roleplayers and she gave some good advice but also ultimately said #you're under no obligation to be good at what you do for fun #and honestly? so true #anyway im not playing in that campaign because i think that while the guy was nice #his expectations were like. critical role levels and its like buddy im just here for a good time im not entertaining the masses lol #im having a hard enough time not beating myself up over my regular campaign all the time for no good reason lol lets not add onto it #lol anyway today i made myself a little eladrin bard who loves painting with her magic paint brush #and she sits next to my changeling warlock as characters i will play eventually #personal

Another continuation from earlier. The party has now made it back to the Winters' manor. Having lost a lot of blood since being revived (on top of his concussion), Rook is in pretty bad shape. His mentor, Sigmar, is attempting to get him to the Winters' healers.

Rook’s eyes drifted closed, the oblivion of sleep calling to him. A sharp prod at his side dragged them reluctantly back open. “Rook, you need to stay awake. Just a little bit longer, until a healer can have a look at you.” Sigmar’s voice was serious as he half-dragged, half-carried Rook down the hall of the Winters’ manor. Rook groaned in response. He was exhausted, and every inch of his body ached. He wanted nothing more than to close his eyes and fall headlong into unconsciousness. Sigmar prodded him again. “Tell me what happened to you. How you ended up in this state.”

Rook thought hard for a moment. How had he ended up like this? He remembered Celestia, and healing the party, and then- Oh, right. He started to explain, his words running together as he spoke. “This werewolf guy showed up. Deadringer?” Sigmar’s body tensed but he said nothing. “And he wanted Warren. Warren and Cherry, I think.” He paused, trying to remember what had happened after that. “He… he wanted to hurt them. So I told him he’d have to go through me first. And he said ‘Deal.’ and threw me across the room. I… I think one of his werebeasts killed me.” He felt rather than saw Sigmar shake his head. “I should never have left you. If I’d known she’d bring Deadringer into this… I shouldn’t have let you go off to fight someone like him without me.” Once again, Rook was surprised at the weight of the emotion in his mentor’s voice. He wanted to say It’s not your fault. Or maybe, I would have done it anyway, but his mouth wouldn’t cooperate. So instead he just rested his head on Sigmar’s shoulder. The damp chill that had come over him on the way here was getting stronger and he leaned into Sigmar’s warmth. “‘S cold,” he mumbled. Sigmar picked up the pace a bit, a worried edge creeping into his voice. “Come on, come on. Just a little further.” Rook’s eyes were heavy, and his awareness of the world was fading. He heard a door open, was vaguely aware of a brightly lit, white-painted room, of being laid down on a bed. He could hear people talking urgently, unfamiliar voices joining Sigmar’s. His muddled mind only caught fragments of their words. “Concussion… Severe… Significant blood loss… Not enough… ” Sigmar’s raised voice cut through the fog. “Help him, damn you!” It sounded very far away, as though coming from another room. Multiple sets of hands touched his skin, and the familiar warmth of healing magic (when had being healed become familiar again?, he wondered dimly) flooded his body. The cold, clammy feeling faded away. The constant pain he had stopped registering some time ago subsided, leaving blissful neutrality in its wake. His head cleared slightly too, blurred reality coming back into focus for a brief moment. Distant voices reached his ears, borne by that momentary clarity. “It’s safe for him to sleep now. He’ll be fine after some rest.” As if his body needed no further reassurance, Rook’s mind relaxed, and within seconds he sank into a deep sleep.

Literally the DAY BEFORE this Sigmar lectured Rook about his recklessness #and told him that his utter lack of regard for his own safety was borderline suicidal. And then barely 24 hours later he's trying to fight #a major villain on his own.#Sadly this isn't even the last time he basically dares a major villain to kill him and dies.#And the second time Warren died (permanently) trying to revive/save Rook.#just one of the many many many things he feels so insanely guilty for in the campaign.#the other big one is getting close with Sigmar bc he turned out to be a a corpse being controlled by the BBEG.#So Rook blames all the suffering that came from that reveal (including his own pain about it) on himself.#And the biggest tragedy is that Sigmar/Dr. Purity truly genuinely does love Rook. In his own fucked-up unhealthy way.#Rook found this novel that had a mentor character and Sigmar had filled every inch of the margins with notes of like ''apply this to Rook.'#and I will admit I absolutely lost it when the DM described it to me. I was like ''I THOUGHT YOU COULDN'T MAKE ME LOVE HIM MORE. I WAS WRON #and then just last week I was minding my own business eating goldfish crackers not even thinking about dnd and my brain was like:#''what if Rook told Purity that he found the book. What would his reaction be?'' and I was like oh shit. That would be heartbreaking.#and then my brain was like ''what if Rook revealed that right before he killed him?'' and that broke me.#because it's a simultaneous apology and acknowledgement of who Purity COULD have been and Rook admitting he does care about him.#but at the same time it's not going to change how things are going to end (Rook killing Purity himself as a mercy to both of them.)#And what makes Sigmar's betrayal so much sadder is that according to the DM the persona he played as Sigmar is the closest to the ''real''#man he was before he became Dr. Purity. Augh it makes me SICK.#these two are literally perfect mirrors. And it was 100% by accident.#I'll shut up about them now. But not for long. Everything circles back to these two eventually.

#my art #dnd #dnd oc #sketchdump #campaign doodles #corisander the wizard #aiden the folk hero #eirene the rogue #sildar the npc #i love sildar #coris almost died saving him in one of my favouritest RP scenes we had and he remains my favourite npc to hang out with #been playing with some Deleted Scenes - things that didnt exactly happen but Could Have™ in the undescribed moments of our Actual Play #that would show character moments that come to us later when we think about the session etc #my favourite one so far is Aiden-centered - we had a short rest after freeing Sildar because both him and my boy Coris were barely conscious #and i can just picture how dreadful it must have been - fire lit in a cave where we barely survived - just for long enough to regain #strenght to get out of there asap. bad vibes. but aiden is a sweetheart who would check on everyone and Coris collects stories so being told #some as a way to boost morale would be THE BESTEST. and one by one Sildar and Eirene join in. classic fireplace storytelling situation #showcasing the folk-caring side of the folk hero - showing our characters starting to warm up towards each other #etc etc #idk #i like thinking about D&D and BD has been a great companion for getting more depth out of our curent game #my talks with everyone else have been emoji reactions or one sentence max #so these will remain Coris + Aiden focused since i dont want to step on the heels of characters that I can't get a feel for :³ #expect lil shitty messy doodles like that i very much love making them #maybe one day ill format the stories in the post itself instead of hiding them in the tags like this :v

ALSO my current familiar is the common Potoo & depending on what happens I #like to think towards the end of the campaign it will be a great Potoo (probably with other bird types in between)#other option is a Harpy eagle coz that feels pretty fitting?
