Keeping Lag to a Minimum...

I was chatting about a few things I do to combat lag over on discord and realised I do quite a bit of maintenance to reduce lag/load times. I decided to write em all down and before I knew it, I had a big ol' list. Here's hoping it helps!

Save/File Tips:

Clear your caches (located in the same spot as your mod folder fyi) I usually delete the onlinethumbnailcache, avatarcache and localthumbcache caches every time I exit the game, the main one to delete regularly is the localthumbcache file, they're just temporary files but it can get pretty big after a while.. if you're having any mod issues, particularly ui ones, it's always worth deleting that to see if it helps.

Remove any saves you're not using from your saves folder, and keep an eye on save file sizes. In my experience, any saves over around 30-40mb start to get a bit laggy. Things that bump this size up are the amount of townies in game and the amount of lots/objects in the world.

Regarding the above point, I regularly bulldoze lots I don't need anymore, just to save the game from having to cope with extra shit to load in the background and reduce save file bloat.

Similarly, I delete a lot of unnecessary townies. Also, try to keep the amount of outfits on townies to a minimum, ain't no townie need four swimsuit outfits, the game will thank you..

If you have cheats enabled you can usually shift-click/delete object on things like random coffee cups or stray cupcakes sims foolishly drop around the world (or eat em.. whatever tickles ur pickle) just get rid!

Whilst we're keeping objects in game to a minimum.. I try to clear sims inventories now and then, including townies. You can do this via mccc even if you're not currently playing that household by heading to MC Cleaner -> Sell Sim Inventory/Sell Household Inventory. RANDOM LUMPS OF CLAY BEGONE!

Think of a save file like a lot.. the more objects in it, the laggier it gets! Try your best to remove anything or anyone unnecessary where you can.

Hit "Save As" instead of "Save" now and then - the more you overwrite a save, the more chance it has of going wonky, treat your game to a fresh one now and then and remove the old one from your saves folder (maybe don't delete it right away in case you wanna roll back, keep it somewhere safe).

If you can (although ik it can be a pain) set up a new/fresh save, you'd be surprised how bogged down old ones can get! For legacy players, it's usually best to do this whenever you have a small family to save yourself some pain, since you can just save the household and take em to a new save (you will lose sims inventories/household inventories/relationships with sims outside the household tho so beware! Pictures/other collectables can be saved to a lot however, and you can always cheat back relationship bits etc.. bit of a last resort but new saves are shiny and fast!)

Make sure your Screenshots/Video folders are empty - move em somewhere else, it works, trust me. If you have a lot of custom music installed try n' clear some of those out too.. the smaller that Sims 4 directory is, the better.

Delete any last exceptions/last crashes (same spot as your mod folder again) you don't need em unless you're planning to upload em somewhere for help.

Settings Etc:

If you get a bad lag spike, opening the main menu and/or saving can randomly stop this. If it doesn't, try exiting the game, clearing your localthumbcache and restarting.

Clearing all notifications from the game panel can also help.

If you can, close all other apps and background apps you don't need whilst playing, ts4 is super memory hungry so it can definitely help.

The GraphicsRules Override file by Simp4Sims can reduce lag/latency and make your game look a little better in the process!

Srslysims Simulation Lag Fix mod can help reduce lag too (if you've altered the game speed via mccc tho, don't use this unless you plan on resetting it to default).

If you aren't keen on, or barely use a pack, consider disabling it.

Not ideal, especially for those of us taking screenshots, but lowering the graphics settings whilst playing definitely helps.

If you use re/g-shade, consider switching it off whilst playing and only turn it on for screenshots.

A clean and tidy pc/laptop runs better in general. Remove anything you're not using/don't need anymore to free up space, remove temp files, clean up your folders now and again etc etc.. especially that dreaded mod folder, speaking of...

Managing Mods:

SORT OUT YOUR MODS FOLDER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.. skdsjdjs it doesn't have to be immaculate but at the very least try n' clear it out now n' then. Also try to separate your script mods/overrides from the rest, patch days don't need to be so stressful ;-;

Personally, I don't merge my mods; if something breaks it's much harder to pinpoint! It makes it easier to find/delete specific mods too.. and let's face it, there's usually one or two items in that set you could do without lmaooo.. also, don't think it helps much tbh! Yeah you could say the game doesn't have to work as hard to load merged files but that's debatable, it's still the same amount of items/polys at the end of the day ¯\(°_o)/¯

If you like merging files and/or see results from doing so, you can merge stuff you definitely know you're never getting rid of, especially CAS/BB stuff.. but steer clear of merging gameplay/script mods! If a merged file seems to be the culprit when using the 50/50 method, try unmerging it and 50/50ing it again! You might not need to get rid of everything if something's borked.

Bulk Rename Utility can be used to remove all spaces and special characters from your mod files, the game doesn't particularly like loading those so it'll thank you.

The Sims 4 Mod Manager is a great way to sort through your mods, you can easily see, move and delete files from here (not great for build/buy, poses etc as thumbnails are usually missing, but great for CAS stuff). An extra hint with this that I've noticed is that if any of my mods get renamed with [D1] at the beginning after looking through them via the mod manager, it means it's a duplicate file so you can get rid.

I also use the Sims 4 Tray Importer to help me sort through mods. Simply save a sim/lot with any cc you don't want and find it in the importer, you can then go through all the cc in the cc tab and delete/sort it (I also use this to sort cc if a bunch has the wrong tags etc, makes it easier to find in my folders by saving em to a lot or w/e - it also spots duplicates which is handy).

It's a ballache, but the 50/50 method is tried and tested if you're having issues.

I like to keep an abandoned cc folder tucked away somewhere, that way you can remove mods willy nilly without stressing about losing them. If you change your mind, you can always grab it back!

You’ll always see the bright side of things and like to see the good in people.

So probably relate a lot to her.

You have a tendency to put others way above yourself and your own needs, most of the time unconsciously so.

Maybe you’re the mom-friend of the group. You’re the most caring and giving out of your surrounding friends or family.

Which kinda makes me think you may have a mix of daddy and mommy issues.

However sometimes your kindness is taken for weakness and naivety when that couldn’t be further from the truth. You’re not unaware of the world around you, in fact you’re probably someone who understands a little too good, so you choose to give positivity to the sea of negativity.

Daddy issues here too, but the ones who actually want a good fatherly figure. One you often find from a mentor or someone to give you affection and/or guidance.

You’re less likely to seek these out in romantic relationships as really what you want is to heal your inner child.

You heard More Than Anything, cried bc it’s a beautiful song than cried harder wondering why couldn’t someone love you like that.

More than anything (ba-dum-tsss) you crave to be protected, you can do it yourself, you have been. But you’re tired. You want someone else to do it for a changed, see you for who you are and love you unconditionally.

I have the feeling you’re the oldest child of a broken home that had to be a 3rd parent at a young age to your even younger siblings and it hurt like a bitch having to leave them once you were able to get out of your parent’s house. But you couldn’t stay there a second longer.

It’s also likely in your upbringing you were seen as the black sheep of the family, whatever the reason may have been. That’s something that still hurts to this day even through the no-contact you’ve likely established.

You have a lot of love to give but often don’t know how to express it or measure it. In the sense that you love too hard or too little, but you care so much. You really do.

And this is why you probably have a lot of people coming to your for a shoulder to cry on, because what you will do is protect the ones you care about the way you wish someone did you in your worse times. This is where your over abundance of love comes the most handy.

BUT behind all of this there’s also a high spirit that can be the life of any party. You have a unique magnetism and easy going personality despite anything that makes people gravitate towards you.

Angel is like a breath of fresh air because for once you get to see a representative whose bad experiences aren’t romanticized or glamorized.

The level at which you relate to him when he yelled “It’s not an act! It’s who I need to be!” was spiritual and it left you a little broken bc you likely use your persona as a shield bc if you don’t laugh you’ll cry

You don’t like letting your past define you but the line between who you are and who’s the persona built for the public keeps thinning more and more.

The trust issues you carry are so deep sometimes you accidentally push people you care about and who care about you away.

Because you do care, so much but it’s hard to let people in not knowing who’s truly going to treat you well.

Sometimes the only was you let in are the ones who go above and beyond to climb the tall thick walls you’ve put around yourself.

But life has made you strong, resilient. You know how to defend yourself and you take no shit from anyone.

short 'backstory' for those who might be in a similar situation as I was: I used to be in a very difficult situation. I've been bullied for quite literally no reason ever since kindergarten and had no friends because of that. I stayed inside, rotting in my room while all other people my age lived their teen years to the fullest. later on, I was diagnosed with autism and came out as trans which made the bullying even worse. another problem was that I had only one year of school left and already signed a job contract with a company that I didn't even wanna work at. I just felt so lost and like I'm not made to live like this

how I did it: I randomly discovered this post and it pretty much changed my whole perspective on the void. I already knew that the void was just a meditative state but I never quite… realized it? like I'd say that yet still treat the void as this magical place that manifests instantly. I also 'forced' myself to not stop until I actually entered the void, no matter how long it would take (tho I didn't actively affirm that it'd take long). I just laid down, set the intention to tap into the void and occasionally affirm 'i am', that's all.

Thinking about avatar and bending again. Honestly, I believe myself to be quite knowledgeable on the art of bending, but I still have so many questions.

So idk, I hope someone who understands better than me could give me some insight. Also, discussions around bending stiles are really fascinating.

So, I'll just list the ones we know for sure and then some ramblings and ideas I had.

Like last time, I'll go through the bending stiles based on the atla intro because I can.

Also, I'll be basing this on the rules set up in atla, not tlok. Just fyi.

Water

Waterbending (basic)

Swampbending - just bending swamp water? Can they turn it into ice as well? Don't know why they couldn't but we never saw that as far as I'm aware

Plantbending (?) - not sure if that's the name, but I'm referring to that one guy who bended vines in the swamp. About that, how far does that go? Just vines? I'm no plant expert but I'm sure there are a lot of plants that have the same amount of water in them like vines. So they should bend them too, shouldn't they? That seemingly doesn't take the power of the moon to do that as well.

Bloodbending - the good shit. Being able to control a living being by taking control over the water in their blood. Works only under the full moon (again, I'll be ignoring tlok for this). The question I have here is how far that goes. Theoretically, could they control a corpse? As long as it has blood in it still, of course. Again, I'm no doctor, so idk how long a person keeps their blood after death. Could they constrict the blood flow and make appendages die off? Clod a vein or so? Make someone experience a heartattack?

Sweatbending - bending sweat. Duh. But does that mean they can bend urine? I'm sure they can bend tears.

Cloudbending

They can suck out the water out of stuff as Hama shows Katara. So can they suck out the water out of people? Dry out our eyes? Idk, stuff like that. I don't know why they shouldn't be able to do so

Mistbending - I don't know if that's in the show tbh. But it should be pretty much like cloudbending so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Earth

First of all, I don't know what the fuck earth really is. Like I googled it, but I'm still confused. So if someone could clear that up for me, I would appreciate it a lot xD.

Earthbending (basic)

Sandbending

Metalbending - they should be able to bend weapons, right? Like swords. They can levitate swords. They can fight from a distance with a sword.

Lavabending

Crystalbending - I'm talking about Aang when they were in Ba Sing Se, when he made himself an armour out of the crystals. That opens the question on what earth really is. Like it's minerals, isn't it? Idk about that. But if you can bend minerals, that means they can bend a lot more, can't they? Again, they could make weapons with that and use them as I explained with metalbending.

Colebending - can they make diamonds out of them? I don't see why not, diamonds are just cole with a lot of pressure. But does that mean they could bend diamonds?

Mudbending - self-explanatory imo. But could they separate the earth part from the water? I think so

Glassbending - I've heard about this before from the fandom, but idk. Is glass the same as sand or does it change it's... uh... element? Idk. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bonebending - I've heard that a few times as well but idk. As I said, I'm not sure what earth even is and I also don't know what bones are as well soo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Symmetric sense - don't know if it counts as bending tho

Mistbending - I mean, mist is basically hot water right? So could they bend the heat there and bend the mist through that?

Heatbending - with that I mean being able to put heat into stuff and suck it out. I would say fire-breathing counts as well. Again, I don't see why they couldn't.

Lavabending - I would use the same explanation as for the mistbending. Again, idk if that would be possible, but it's a neat idea I've seen around the fandom a few times.

Chibending - this is something I'm again not sure about but hear me out: We got chi-blocking, granted, it's from Ty Lee and a lot of people theorise that she's an airbender decent so that could come from there. But at the same time, lightningbending and lightning redirection rely heavily on chi. So that gave me the idea that maybe they can bend their own chi and the chi of others? On the other hand, chi could also be something that everyone has. That would mean that everyone can redirect lightning, wouldn't it though? Again, idk, just a thought.

Heat... sight? - basically, couldn't they feel/ see the heat from living beings? Similar to the symmetric sense?

Air

Honestly, I don't have that much on airbending so my bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Earthbending - Ok, listen. Rocks have air bubbles in them, right? So could they bend the air in them and move rocks? They could also blow them up through that, right? Again, just spit balling.

Spirit stuff idk - airbenders were the most spiritual so maybe they could spirit bend or something idk.

Again, I would love to hear what other think. A lot of those things are also just ramblings and ideas and I'm no genius so keep that in mind.

Being the resident “strong man” in the super hero scene wasn’t easy. It took a toll on him mentally and physically, feeling his bones and muscles ache a little more each day, but refusing to quit, knowing everyone was counting on him. No one ever bothered to warn him about the consequences of dealing with evil, either. It required him to give into the darkness inside him, sinking a little further into the abyss each time he had to put someone down for the sake of another’s safety. He didn’t know exactly when, but at some point, he had been swallowed up. Stuck in the cage that he created, still holding onto the key that he refused to use.

It should’ve scared him when the sounds of bones crunching under his fists, the smell of the blood that would drip down from his face onto the wet concrete, and the small breathless pleads that the person below him would whisper to him as a last ditch effort to live all started to appeal to him. Sooner or later, he felt that he lost himself completely, only seeing bits and pieces of his former self when he would stare into his tired reflection in his shattered mirror at home.

Jongho became the type of person that didn’t take shit from anyone. Built like a tank and as intimidating as one, no one ever dared to give him trouble, unless they were psychotic or a raging masochist. Most people were scared of him, rebuking his name after the reports of the bloody messes he would leave behind, despite his genuine efforts to keep the general public safe. Though, there was still one person he felt comfortable enough around to show himself to without all the layers of filth. His old friend from before it all, who always chose to stay beside him, even when everyone disappeared from his life one by one.

“Y/N,” Jongho mumbled weakly in front of your front door one late night, covered in fresh cuts, his eye swollen, with some smeared blood already dried on his cheek. “I know I usually call, but…I just…really needed to see you.”

Holding your robe closed due to the cold air hitting your skin, you took a step back, letting the slouching man enter your residence. “Jongho, what happened?”

“I saved a woman from her psychotic, Compound V-using boyfriend.” He leaned against the wall, awkwardly reaching down to untie his combat boots, leaving a few smears of blood on the white surface. “He put up a fight. He set his shoes in the corner and glanced up at you, wondering why you didn't look at him like everyone else did. With fear. Revulsion. Instead, you looked at him with a tenderness he felt he didn't deserve.

You closed the door and took careful steps in his direction, reaching your hands up to caress his stinging cheeks, not saying anything. Just letting him feel your warmth.

You could remember the first time he came to you this late at night. Covered in blood that wasn’t his, sobbing in your arms, crying that he had to do it. He had to do it to protect everyone. He didn’t have a choice. Now he stood here looking at you with a distant gaze, like the person inside him took a break from manning the controls.

“Jongho…” you murmured, gently rubbing your thumbs over his jawline, leaning in to press your lips onto his as softly as you could. You felt him lean into it, his hands sliding onto your hips, barely touching you, like he was afraid you would shatter into pieces. You broke the kiss, your forehead pressing lightly onto his. “Do you want to talk about it?”

Jongho shook his head, his dark black hair swaying a bit, his eyes narrowing slightly. “Just want you to make me feel better.”

He always meant one thing when he said that.

“You want to be my baby tonight, Jjong?” you asked sweetly, some sadness hidden inside your tone. You wished you could do more for him. More than just being a distraction from the pain.

“Please,” he practically begged, resting his head on your shoulder, his body starting to slump down onto yours, the walls he kept up starting to crumble around him. “Please, Y/N, I want to forget…Make me forget…”

He was still human. Able to do human things. Feel human emotions. Pain. Pleasure. Regret. Hope. He could feel it all. For what it’s worth, at least he could still return to his cage when he needed to. He wasn’t a monster, after all.

I've only read a few pages from this arc but Tim quitting being Robin was a really difficult decision and Bruce's response was to give the job to Tim's sort-of-ex girlfriend and then treat her like crap. I believe it's canonically cause she reminded him too much of Jason, but that might just be the fandom's reading of the subtext; either way, if the shoe fits...

7. Robin!Tim in general

Listen intentional or not Tim is written as a character that has very much internalized needing to be useful being more important than anything else. His parents simply prioritize work over him point blank - his dad doesn't even remember his birthday, for God's sake - and Bruce simply like. Does not help with this. If anything he takes advantage of it. Tim needs to be loved unconditionally, like, STAT, like, that would fix 70% of his identity issues kinda STAT, and I'm not sure he's ever felt that with Bruce

6. Free space: any time he's hit one of his children that I don't know about

I once reblogged a post that detailed every time he hit Dick but that's long gone into the ether now, I can't find it. Anyway there's no excuse to hit your child. Don't fucking do it. They shouldn't hit you, either, doesn't make it ok for you to do if they've done it fyi. Batman can do non violent solutions, we know this, so fucking use those on your children.

With Randall, she’s always talking about Randall’s looks regarding her facial hair. She hates it since it reminds her of Izan. Making her shave on a regular basis. Whenever he,Izan, comes up in conversation, she’ll try to ignore it and get frustrated. Calling him a deadbeat father or a failure to the ascot name.

A few years after Izan’s disappearance, Randall turned 17. In her teens, RM (Randy Mom), pressured her about liking people of the same gender and told her it was distasteful and shameful to the ascot name. She also had planned arranged marriages for when Randall turned 18. Not good at all!! This led to Randall getting stressed out and depressed.

Her actions led Randall to an emotional outburst with Hershel, slapping her when she tried to comfort her about what she saw on her body, and running away into the labyrinth with the mask in hand. With its crack, she broke it with too much pressure and now only has the upper half in her possession. This eventually leads to her fall in a pit of cicadas shells…(There is more to this haha..and a whole interaction…BUT WE MUST CONTINUE!! )

a time skip of 17 years-

Randall is living in the labyrinth with her cicada family!! She takes food from villages nearby the labyrinth in her cloak made of vines. Tho this backfired on fateful night.

After Randall’s refusal to talk and trying to squirm away like a snake, Descole thinks Randall should look the part. Reaching into her belt pockets for her cautery tool, making Randall feel a burning sensation on her tongue, splitting and separating it, just like a snake.

but as someone who has actually watched her livestreams and has friends who can 100% back up what was said - yes. she has had other bfs. as for the cheating comment, i'm not sure bc i stopped paying attention to shea a while ago. so you would have to check that with someone else.

it's possible she said an ex of hers cheated on her at coachella, and she was referring to someone else and not colby. and then ppl just assumed it was about him. but then again, she's been badmouthing him since december so i wouldn't put it past her.

and that is a great question lol bc even shea's timeline of events doesn't quite add up.

this fandom loves to say colby has been with someone every other month since the dawn of his career, yet somehow in the mix of all of that, he was supposed to have dated shea?? sometimes for a while, sometimes not at all, sometimes for the whole almost 10 years of their friendship??? idk how that works. maybe she has a time machine or something.

for the record, i do think they had something going on between each other at one point or another. do i think it lasted the entirety of their friendship? no. do i think they were allowed to see other ppl while all of this was happening? yes. do i think she's now pissed he ended whatever it was they had bc he actually, finally, made a connection with someone that wasn't her?? yes. and instead of just accepting that he was just not that into her, she's airing out his dirty laundry bc otherwise, how else is she supposed to get more than four viewers?? since before he 'blew her off' to be with m, she had him ready to edit for her, make content with her, and help her grow an audience.

Tala/Tyson headcanons

I posted about this ship and was asked to talk about my headcanons! (sorry it took so long lmao) So just my usual FYI but yes I very much lean more into the manga personalities rather than the anime ones. This is very much the case for Tala who I have written about quite a few times before! Also sorry In advance I sometimes keep switching from Japanese to English names lmao.

· .*How I could imagine them getting together*. · 

Tala wouldn't realise he was crushing on Tyson for a long time. He’s too caught up in his rivalry, not realising that his weird need for Tyson's focus and attention isn't purely about blading. Also he's dumb and bad at feelings.

Tyson being the disaster bi he is goes through a stage where he just crushes on everyone for a while. Most notably Kai but also every one of the bladebreakers at one point in time lol. But as Kai hangs out more with Neoborg in turn Tyson and the others end up spending more time with them too.

During this time finally interacting with Tyson without tournaments in the way and no need to be competitive outside of having fun is where Tala's jealousy streek starts to come into play. Tournaments are one thing but Kai getting all of Tyson's attention all the time outside of that? Nope, he's not having it. He still hasn't quite figured out he actually *likes* Tyson at this point though lol. He ends up purposefully initiating fights just for attention. 

Tyson always up for a challenge, plays along and this is where his own crush starts to develop. I mean Tala is HOT but completely unreachable before now, the attraction was there but feelings start to grow. Also like when does Tyson back down from a fight?

The other guys figure it out pretty quickly, Max is like a radar for this sorta stuff lol. He calls Tyson out on it who finally admits he very much humours Tala just to spend time with him, also that he finds battling Tala exciting and he wants to get to know the guy better.

On the flip side Bryan realises that Tala is acting weird even for Tala, he sorta sussed it out but does not tell Tala, boy needs to figure it out on his own. He's rooting for them tho lmao. Just a little nudge here and there. “Oh going to see your boyfriend again?" 😏

The next tournament happens and Max, being the best wingman is pretty much glued to Neoborg and drags Tyson along with the excuse that they all just wanna hang out with kai. This is where Kai is finally told about Tyson's crush (from Max) and he ends up figuring out about Tala’s side too. He thinks they're both stupid, especially Tala who STILL hasn't figured out he's now HARDCORE crushing on Tyson.

Cue Tala's jealousy streak hits hardcore when the tournament is in its late stages. Sorry Tala but Kai is Tyson's real rival you can't change that. He can't stand Kai being in the spotlight right now and he doesn't understand why because he never had a problem with it before. So screw it. This is where he goes to find Tyson after his and Kai's match, purely on autopilot he pushes him against a wall and just kisses him. Almost gives Tyson a heart attack in the process. And finally. FINALLY, this as he's kissing Tyson is where Tala finally is like: 'OH! I like Tyson😱 FUCK'

It would take a while for them to actually be like a “couple” and even then it would very much be on the down low, never public. I mean real-world problems aside (I simply do not really like writing or thinking about these anyway) I very much just feel like Tala is a very private person when it comes to feelings and would not want the public to know about his business. But here are some headcanons for them actually dating:

Tala is very possessive, like to the EXTREME. Tyson actually likes this to a point. Thing is this boy has a dead mom and the rest of his family (other than his grandpa) are constantly leaving, this boy has abandonment issues. He hates the idea of people leaving him or becoming uninterested in him, so to have someone so aggressively want him he likes it…a lot. But it is a problem so they do try and work on this lol. Tala does eventually calm down but he has his own issues regarding this. He very much is unwilling to let things he considers important go, this is the main reason he sticks with his team. It's very much a “this is mine and you can't have it 😡 ” mentality.

Being with Tyson mellows out Tala a lot, I mean it's hard to be around someone like Tyson and not just learn to chill out a bit. I mean mellow for Tala is still really high-strung for most people but hey it’s progress! In turn, Tyson matures a bit more, because Tala won't ever let him talk his way out of something he learns to take responsibility better. They also bond over very brief and highly glossed over talks about their trauma, turns out they have a few points they can relate over. Tyson is relieved he can finally talk to someone about this sorta stuff and not feel judged and Tala is thankful that Tyson never pushes him to reveal more than he's comfortable with.

Tala is the one to bridge the language gap between them and learns Japanese. Dude is like a genius so it's not that hard for him. He doesn't even tell Tyson he’s learning it, he just busts it out one day just to style on Kai. Russian on the other hand Tyson can't wrap his head around, but not for lack of trying. He knows how to say a few words but that's it, he learns to listen for certain words when others are speaking around him tho. He ends up being able to pick out quite a lot of words for everyday things (and a lot of bad words lmao thank Bryan and Ian). Tyson really likes Tala's accent in both English and Japanese, he also loves hearing him speak in Russian. He gets Tala to read to him in Russian sometimes normally just whatever Tala happens to be studying at the time.

Tala is quite anti-touch with pretty much everyone other than Bryan or well, he is at first. They have to work on that and it's torture for Tyson to start with, guy is very touchy-feely and affectionate! Tyson gets it though, Tala needs time to come out of his shell and he lets him and gives him space, only initiating physical contact every now and then or so he thinks. From Tala's point of view, Tyson is attached to him 24/7, glued to his back like a little monkey and it's overwhelming. In the beginning he even has to distance himself a few times, he gets better at it as time goes on though. And I mean Tyson is so soft and nice to hug? What is this? Soft and casual physical affection. Disgusting, he wants more.

As the relationship goes on Tala gets more secure in it and it becomes familiar and normal, routine. He mellows out but one thing he can't put a damper on is his jealousy towards kai and at times the other BBA members, he just quietly seethes a little and it's probably the only time he ever gets physical around others. He very much will wrap a protective arm around Tyson if he thinks one of them is getting a bit too friendly, he wants Tyson's attention. The worst culprit of this is Kai who he very much feels he's competing with sometimes. He’s not insecure about himself or anything he just has a problem because he wants to completely monopolise Tyson when he has the free time to actually be around him.

This is very much a relationship that could turn really ugly real fast. You would think Tala's possessive and jealous behaviour and Tyson’s own insecurities sorta encouraging it would lead to something bad happening…but it never does despite them walking a very thin and dangerous line for quite a while. This is mainly because both of them acknowledge that they have these problems and are aware of when they are doing it. At the beginning of the relationship (when the problems were the worst), Tala hadn’t actually intended this to even be a relationship, thinking it was just something he needed to get out of his system. But the longer he spent with Tyson the more and more he caught real-ass feelings. It’s something that creeps up on him one night when he finally realises that he's actually trying to better himself for Tyson. Has a bit of a freak-out over that realization but gets over it LOL

When it comes to the other members of Neoborg all of them are a bit weirded out it's Tyson of all people but after they get over it they are happy Tala finally found someone, they really weren’t expecting that. Also, they are a bit relieved that it's actually someone nice XD The one who is the most worried about the relationship is actually Spencer who is worried he is going to hurt Tyson and in turn hurt himself in the backlash should that happen. Still, he feels he isn't one to question Tala's life choices. The borg boys are surprisingly nice to Tyson for fear of Tala's wrath only Tala is mean to Tyson Tyson and Ian even strike up an unlikely friendship because of this.

On Tyson's side, while a little unsure his friends are pretty supportive especially when it comes to Tyson dealing with Tala's uglier aspects. His grandfather is nervous about Tala too (I mean he saw what happened in s1 lol) but wants Tyson to be happy. He will warm up to the redhead once Tala proves he's not going to rip Tyson's heart out and stamp on it, takes a while tho (cuz at the beginning Tala thought he was going to do that himself lol). Tala on the flipside finds Tyson's grandfather real weird and also a little intimidating? XD Tala is also big on the Hiro hate train, both for his actions in Bega but also just cuz he's a shitty ass brother to Tyson. He however mostly keeps it to himself because it would be like if Tyson started randomly hating on Bryan or Spencer which he would hate. This does lead to some pretty awkward and interesting family dinners at the dojo.

it’s weird seeing things that were in judgment in this game but in completely different places. like, there’s the single chase sequence at the start of the game (were they planning more? it feels like it), the search sequence where you look for nancy, and then saeko’s cheers are very similar to mafuyu’s in that one sequence. i know it’s just classic rgg asset reuse but smth about it feels different here?? (edit: I don’t know what I meant here)

i’m really liking the longer time to get to know each character and for their relationships to develop. rgg have always been good at that but it feels like they’re really getting chance to shine here

that said i really do hate how there’s no grace period after combat and you can get stuck in a loop of enemy spawns and fights. for grinding xp it’s great but for actual fun? not so much.

is nugget two (aka omelette) just there for fan service? don’t get me wrong i’m very happy to have a chicken wandering the office again, but it’s all i can think about whenever i see her

did the management game up to unlocking eri basically all in one session. don’t recommend, exactly, but it was convenient! i also like that there’s skills linked to doing that, it’s an extra incentive to do it

after several hours of pootling around doing some minor grinding and the part time hero stuff, time to finally finish chapter 5! also why is there nowhere i can buy enforcer gear, i can get stuff for basically every other job except that one, and two of the gear shops on the map aren’t open yet...

obligatory plot/history dump section, currently feeling a lot like how hiroshima worked in y6 but with somehow more corruption. less murder tho, probably. so by the ijin three working together on their counterfeit venture and sending the money to the governor who gives it to the police this somehow keeps the balance. a balance so fragile that one man dying can upend the whole thing. guys i don’t think this plan was as solid as you thought it was.

i can’t believe i’m about to say this, but as he currently is i don’t like zhao. well no, i *do*, but i also want to punch him a bit which is good, i think that’s how it’s supposed to go.

he and ichiban have the same eyes, i think. aoki’s are smaller than ichiban’s big puppy eyes so it’s harder to tell but i’m pretty sure they’re the same. There’s no reason for this, but it’s there.

having done everyone’s drink links, i think the ending of zhao’s is my favourite (recency bias maybe) but the best overall was adachi’s? difficult to say.

the cutscene where aoki is bitching to sawashiro about how no one told him daddy dearest was going to sotenbori was weirdly rushed? like not pacing but literally the dialogue would move onto the next bit before he’d finished speaking the lines. is that a glitch or smth? was very off-putting (me from later: most of the cutscenes in that office were like that? And only aoki’s dialogue? Ig my game glitched)

we’re in sotenbori!!!!! it feels so small compared to ijincho but it’s kinda nice. cosy. tho why tf are we starting in the grand, we don’t have the money for this and we’re not even being served by a hostess, why are we here asdfghjkl

doing the entire sotenbori battle arena was both a lot more engaging for me compared to the yokohama dungeon AND much more worth it. good gear, good money, and for levelling people quickly it’s absolutely perfect (at current levels)

man am i glad i did tho that saejima majima fight would’ve been rough if i went there immediately when i arrived in sotenbori. didn’t do too bad tho, lost eri (saejima one-shotted her from full health...) but everyone else stayed up pretty easily.  i find it interesting that after the fight tho majima says やっぱり when he’s talking about them being allies. did he twig it halfway through the fight or did he know already? and how? (the eclectic arrangement of people with ichi was probably a clue but still asdfghjkl) ALSO you’re telling me they were in osaka for two entire years and no one fucking noticed. they were IN OMI HQ to meet with arakawa and no one fucking noticed. (also arakawa says that the only people who know 3jima are there are the people in that room but that’s not true, mitsu also knows. rgg why do you always forget poor mitsu....)

i was kind of expecting the fight in omi hq to be longer. huh. ALSO tendo is like i’m jumping sides we’re friends now, and then he vanishes from literally all cutscenes after that moment. i’m not even confident he’s outside of the party combat where the other guys were. so what happened to tendo????? are we gonna see him again or is that it? (foreshadowing is a literary device-)

figures that kiryu comes back and his first line is おらぁ！ asdfghjkl and watase being like who is he? no idea??? fucking got me, bless that man. daigo’s expression in that scene was really good too, seems like he’s the only person that believed kiryu was gone. saejima and majima sure as hell didn’t.

scene with ichiban and arakawa sr on the yokohama dock was excellent. well-written, well-performed just, great cutscene. honestly that entire chunk of cutscene (slightly minus the bit where ichiban runs to arakawa sr’s body) up to and including the scene with sawashiro, ishioda and the execs. really really good

sawashiro’s backstory is all very interesting for pretty much everyone involved (except the women cos this is an rgg game). masato is sawashiro’s son, shit, dude. Ichi does not seem to be taking this super well but honestly, fair! he’s a rough couple of days and now he’s just found out the guy he looked up to this whole time and devoted his entire life to was actually his dad, and probably knew and didn’t tell him. that’s fucked up.

MICHINO SHIRABE ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME the pun names in this game istg, this is some ace attorney level shit

fuck the fight with kiryu. it’s just, so not engaging as a fight. partly cos i was a little underleveled I think but also you just end up using like two attacks on him the whole fight chipping away at his enormous well-defended health bar and I got bored. also if I have to hear him say 次は何だ one more time I’m gonna fucking riot. at least his boss theme is the best version of his theme we’ve ever had and one of the best themes in the whole game

I have complicated feelings on kiryu being in this plot at all, tbh. with the context of gaiden ig it’s more forgiveable but it just feels like he doesn’t belong there, y’know? this is ichiban’s story but all of kiryu’s mess and baggage have dragged their way in and it shifts the focus for too long. idk. I was in a bad mood anyway when I played this section so I might be being less charitable than I normally would be. I like kiryu, I like his story, but rn he’s not who I should be engaging with.

okay I’m having fun again now, the other day was an outlier. In retrospect I do like how they integrated his styles and signature moves into his moveset. and the dragon, while utterly nonsensical even in context, looked pretty cool.

anyway I ran the sotenbori battle arena one more time so now it’s time to go and punch ishioda in the face!

had some difficulties with that battle (saeko got stunned early and I had to reevaluate my whole plan) but joongi came through and overall it definitely went easier than the kiryu fight even if the mirror face thing was fucking dumb. I don’t hate it? I don’t think? but wtf was that asdfghjkl

actually really like the cutscene of aoki and his secretary (she has a name, I can’t remember it *cry*), it reinforces a lot about his character and the effect he has on people.

fascinated by the lack of security at this event where the governor of Tokyo is talking. if ichiban had been someone with ill intent aoki would’ve been totally fucked. also nick is back in the main plot, good for him

right, time to go and piss around with the side content some more rather than deal with the implication that date and Adachi are friends

MAKO-CHAN no, not having it. I saw on one of their official streams once, when they were doing the stream every day for like two weeks thing they were doing, Yokoyama say he regretted this and that it was fan service (it was the stream with ushizawa, the jp streamer). I think that’s probably fair, especially cos you don’t get to use new serena as a hideout afterwards. the scene doesn’t really add anything and date didn’t need to be there. having said that, I’m happy seeing him again and it’s kind of funny how short he is compared to everyone else. (as an aside ushizawa had some *balls* to turn to Yokoyama and be like this bit was shit asdfghjkl)

why does the kamurocho batting centre look weird. did they shorten the distance or smth? I swear it didn’t look like this in judgment. and the textures are so low res….

I liked going up through millennium tower. the floors felt a little samey after a while but it was kind of nostalgic walking through the same place you fight as kiryu in 6.

ig tendo also having the dragonfish tattoo is where they got in that detail from rggo, tho where it was sawashiro there and his was white(?) this time it’s tendo and it’s blue (and uh, not a dragonfish? But you know what I mean). I like how they mixed it in with his moveset and the names of his moves tho, that’s neat.

the tendo boss fight runs a little overlong imho but if you’re levelled it’s so much easier than any of the old guard boss fights. same for both of the aoki boss fights. like yeah, you might get swarmed a bit in that first one, but I never felt like I was in any danger. the QTEs caught me off guard tho, I wasn’t expecting any and then suddenly they throw four at me at once, come on guys asdfghjkl

everything after that HOO BOY I was kind of indifferent on masato as a character up to this point (he had his moments but I was just like blah whatever) but I’ve officially been converted. the writing in that cutscene where ichi yells at him and tries to beg him to start over and onwards from there is so so so fucking good, there’s so much character there and it’s expressed so well. I teared up at points cos ichi is so desperate not to lose anyone else, and despite everything – despite him ordering the death of his DAD – he’s willing to be by him and hold him up for as a long as it takes. it’s such a fucking ichiban moment and it’s played so well, in general and in the performance.

same for the scene at the lockers. I think that, along with the kiryu bit on the roof in 5 (either one, take your pick), is one of my new favourite scenes in the series. it’s heartbreaking.

AND THEN FUCKING KUME okay no I can be calm about it. part of me is like, this is a cop out, this is rgg studios once again having a character die instead of going through the long process of redemption and growth. but part of me is also like no, this is the perfect place to use it. aoki ryo was everything kume aspired to be, everything masato groomed him to be, and he’s absolutely the kind of person who would be sent over the edge by the reveal that aoki wasn’t real. or, well, that he had committed an unforgiveable sin. kume believes more than anything that he is doing the right thing, even when committing murder, because he believes that if he is ‘cleansing’ then therefore he *must* be in the right, no matter the action being done. he turned out exactly like aoki wanted him to, but masato wasn’t prepared for the consequences of that (I think he knew, tho), and that cost him.

I don’t LIKE kume as a character, he’s annoying, but I do think his arc is quite well done and that it’s reminiscent of the real kumes out there.

the last little bit made me cry too, where ichi is on the bridge. it’s the ‘everything sucks but there’s hope there if only you look’, it gets me every fucking time. it’s such a thesis for ichiban as a character, the game as a whole, and even the whole series.

uh things I wanted uh, mitsu deserved some more dialogue, and I wish joongi and zhao got a bit more plot time after their respective bits. it makes sense to focus on the core four (ichi, saeko, Adachi, nanba) cos you’ve spent more time with them but it does make them feel like set dressing sometimes. eri isn’t even there (I get why but still :sad: ). also nick, the entire time he was there I couldn’t help but think of Akiyama the whole time. thematically he makes so much more sense, and it would give that scene where he calls aoki out so much more impactful. OH and mirror face can fuck off, worst plot twist to appear twice, why the fuck is he there asdfghjkl

OH ALSO the first aoki fight, it’s really jarring when that just has the generic fight theme. like, obviously he gets his own very good theme later, but they couldn’t have come up with one to slot in here? it feels so wrong

saeko DOES kiss ichiban. huh. I thought that was smth they just introduced for infinite wealth but there was actually precedent. kashiwagi being involved is killing me asdfghjkl love that man (oh he does the same for eri, interesting.)

the romance subplots do, on the whole, make me very uncomfortable. Especially iroha’s, she comes on incredibly strong and it’s not super clear he reciprocates on that, plus she’s super possessive and weird and then drops him once she’s got what she wanted. Not good. (one of the ladies does imply he’s more submissive than she expected, so at least there’s that nugget, but I’d rather not have got it like this, thanks). And the ending? What are we going for here, guys? Cos I’m not sure it works!

Dragon kart on the other hand, great fun. A little light on the subplot nonsense (compared to, say, the taxi minigame from 5) and the mini advertisement half-way through for pocket circuit could’ve been skipped, but they’re minor problems. The racers are all living out their shounen sports manga dreams, good for them. The courses are fun too!

Wait no, the party chat about mushrooms has romantic (sub)text and they cut it in the localisation! How dare they deny my Adachi/nanba dreams

tags are not the place for a rant like this. eso and legends seem to both be very fixated on nostalgia as far as ive played either game but im gonna be focussing on eso here. for eso specifically it seems almost unwarranted. there WILL be spoilers!!!

eso seems to have relied on a lot of nostalgia for other tes games when marketing their dlc, even back in the early days. the base game as it is and how it was marketed does very well at being its own thing, not 100% perfect (looking at you Eastmarch story!) but it presents familiar places and concepts with a breath of fresh air. locations from the previous games dont even look the same between eso and their game of origin and most of the times that helps to bring the whole series to life, like the world changes between 800-1000 years so of course a city like Windhelm is gonna have some differences!

they start getting into nostalgia for other tes games when marketing the Dark Brotherhood dlc which is quite early on in the lifespan of eso so far. the marketing and how the dbh is presented in game definitely draws very heavily on the tes4 dbh. youve got a lucien clone, a questline involving a former dbh assassin killing off current members, and its all set in cyrodiil? the Dark Brotherhood dlc did new some new things like Anvil being under the control of a pirate and showing us an intact Kvatch with an arena to fight in. id credit this dlc with the first taste of eso using nostalgia as a crutch

they started to rely more heavily on it for the Morrowind dlc. overall i feel like they did fewer new things with the region of Vvardenfell compared to the Gold Coast with their original games. its very obvious thats the case with the storyline here; its very focussed on the Nerevarine Prophecies and Vivec's godhood up until near the end when Barbas reveals himself as the main antagonist. it felt very much like they were rehashing a lot of the story of tes3. some of the dialogue also shows off that the devs cared more for nostalgia rather than consistent world building such as a mention of drakes, thats a very 3rd era word in Morrowind and exists to show off the cyrodilic colonization of the region and its people.

reaching into the dlcs i havent played through yet im gonna be talking about how its presented in game on a surface level, just fyi. solitude and the region of western skyrim overall seems to be a 1:1 clone of the same region in tes5. fair enough that the dragon mounds and nord barrows are in the same place but taking a look at Solitude in particular is almost depressing. the forge, inn, and Proudspire manor are all in the exact same places as they will be in 1000 years when tes5 takes place, everything looks the exact same way! theres been at least 1 war (the Siege of Solitude) confirmed in Solitude between eso and tes5 so why does it look the exact same? the inclusion of Blackreach as an additional zone is the Greymoor dlc makes it seem more like nostalgia bait for tes5 as well.

im less familiar with the Blackwood dlc but Leyawiin also feels like a tes4 clone even tho theres 800 years between games. not to mention the fact were also fighting Mehrunes Dagon in Cyrodiil again. i will give Blackwood credit for expanding the map beyond what was available in tes4.

the marketing for Necrom seems so incredibly heavy with nostalgia. its more tes3 nostalgia weve seen from the Morrowind dlc but also with tes5 nostagia from their Dragonborn dlc. getting into the exact wording from the global reveal for a nitpick, in vanilla tes3 you cant actually visit the Telvanni Peninsula like they claimed you could, the closest you could get was still on Vvardenfell with the region called Azura's coast which is the eastern shores of the main island. if you took some of the clips showing off Apocrypha's library sections from the reveal and told me they were from tes5 id honestly believe you. since the devs are breaking up their usual year long schedule to take a look at bugs (a much needed schedule change imho) i doubt were gonna be seeing Solstheim as a smaller zone to go with the Necrom storyline and complete the nostalgia fest so far.

in my own opinion and experience, eso has done nostalgia really well once and its in the base game too. its the covenant zones; primarily Glenumbra, Stormhaven, and Alik'r. ive played my fair share of tes2 and ive spent a lot of time wandering around the iliac bay in that game. the whole region in eso seems familiar to me, from the way the trees look to the textures of the roads and to the ambient music! its very subtle too, you dont have to play tes2 in order to enjoy the covenant zones and their overall aesthetic, you dont need to know the names of every region to enjoy references to some of them in the names of the dolmens. like everything in those zones is just a nice little nod to tes2 that you dont NEED to know or understand to enjoy the game! it just adds a little bit of familiarity as the devs do what they want with the storylines! thats how nostalgia should be in comparison to the nostalgic circle jerk were being marketed in eso.

There came a time, where the hope Wilbur had simply died down. It shattered to the ground, letting light for the intrusive, negative thoughts. They pushed any positivity firmly in the crevice of his mind, and never allowed them to simply take a look out. And because of this, there was no acceptance. He never would accept this hellhole of a home.

Essentially, a merry-go-round of hell, where every single fucking time a human comes by, they simply give him a hell-ride and walk off, not bothering to even notice the protests that come from his mouth. He still attempts them, despite knowing damn-well the type of store he’s in; if there is a human that steps foot into this building, they are looking for his kind. They’re looking simply for a treat. Wilbur, although he used to deny this, has finally come to terms with his ultimate fate, between two rows of teeth, completely content with shattering the bones and life of an innocent, who’s only flaw is a size not taller than a finger. Somehow, some way, it makes his life have a lesser value. And perhaps Wilbur has seen the truth to that statement. 

So, Wilbur continues to sit, counting seconds among minutes in his head despite knowing full-well they were nothing but inaccurate to what the time truly was. But, with little but a pinhole for his source of light, and he woefully admits his breathing, he’s become plenty used to error in his technique of containing his sanity. Some days were more successful than others, where he simply paced along the rocky path the chocolates created, simply thinking and rethinking over his life, wandering down every metaphorical path, as if it could change the outcome of his current life. But, there are others, where he sits against the pinhole, with his knees curled firmly to his chest, and where his hands wrap them. Where he buries his head in his lap and simply sobs. And other, more exhilarating days, where he finds the wrath in him has become tired of sitting still and accompanies his grim thoughts. 

Wilbur Soot will not deny that he absolutely despises his very existence. He loathes his size, barely the size of a human finger – making it next to futile for him to defend himself, and he often feels he’d find more peace dead than he will just simply sitting, taking in the void. Wilbur has wished so hard for it to end, but no matter how many thoughts begged the universe for it, he never got results. And he’s attempted to rid of himself, but each attempt ends in failure, where he’s forced to spend another day in an agonizing, miserable hell that is, what looks to be, a simple bag of candy. He wants it to be like that. But, alas, it is not. And he is very much still alive and sulking in the middle of the bag, just gazing at the miniscule hole, like it holds secrets he yearns to be revealed.

The lights were on – the hole was glowing a certain color that told him the store was open. Wilbur did not have a proper way of knowing how much time had passed and when, but he does understand the basics of a store. Lights on means it’s open, lights off means it’s closed. Simple. 

A shadow passes the hole, blocking the light just slightly. Wilbur’s interest perks at this, but not enough to spark any kind of hope. He knows better than to assume the best for himself. He shifts his position slightly, leaning against the back of the wall as he continues to watch the small sample of the world he’s been given. Tire nags at his eyes, but he doesn’t dare sleep. Perhaps it’s because some part of him really does wonder, really does hope, that he’ll be getting out.

He’d first moved there not only to get away for a bit, but because he realized that his thoughts were starting to get to him. Constantly having intrusive and careful thoughts fighting in his mind, all while skimming the ground to ensure he wouldn’t be misstepping, was a task he did not enjoy. He holds no prejudice against the smaller beings, they are no less human than he, however it can get distressing to worry nearly every moment of the day where he’s doing a thing as simple as walking.

But, he finds that the streets of New York are unfortunately far more crowded than those in London. While trying to avoid hundreds of tourists coming at him eye-level, with the addition of tinies – it becomes overwhelming. Which is why one afternoon when he deemed himself frustrated and over-tired of worrying, he took temporary shelter in a store, located in a particularly odd part of town, yet still busy as normal.

It looked oddly isolated, like it was not meant to be seen by the public. He still managed to find it, though, so he wondered if it was that hidden. Bells chimed softly as he entered, almost startling the cashier in the back of the building. Tommy offered him a quick smile before he allowed himself to get lost in isles among isles, eyes scanning over the contents in the store. Ultimately, after he had circled the small store, he concluded bitterly that everything looked unfortunately unappetizing. 

He returned to the middle of the store, grabbing mindlessly at a bag of Wilbur Chocolate. Hopefully he’ll feel up to eating it by the time he returns home. If he even makes it home without starting a crime scene.

Tommy ambled to the back corner, where the cashier sat at a stool, looking unusually alert of everything he did. Like he was noting it in the back of his mind. And he did not miss the small smirk under the man’s lips. Avoiding the odd look, he set the bag down on its side and patted himself for whatever money he had on him. “Ah, good choice,” The man said. Tommy nodded. 

“Twenty dollars and twenty-six cents.”

Tommy’s eyes widened. “Twenty dollars? For that?” 

Something in the cashier’s eyes shifted, and his smirk returned, this time far more curious. He raised his brow and said, “They aren’t exactly cheap, sir. I can’t go giving them out for free,”

“The…. chocolates?” 

The man huffed in amusement, nodding. “Sure, the chocolates.”

Americans. “Here.” He handed the man the extra bills he’d fished from his pockets and grabbed the bag sourly. He bid a small goodbye out of habit and made his way back to the glass doors. “I hope you enjoy the chocolates, sir!” 

Prime, why did he move here?

Wilbur no longer has the wish to be free. Deep down inside of him, the feeling of freedom would be refreshing, but the actuality of the situation has finally sat in him. And he cannot be more afraid, more unwelcoming, about what is to come. Wilbur does not want to be handled by a human, to be tossed around like some fucking toy, when he simply is not that. He knows that his fate will be sealed when he finds his frail, emotional body being crushed under the weight of two rows of teeth as he feels the life being sucked out of him completely, just because of a simple height difference. A major one, however still one that makes him human.

Wilbur is nervous as he feels the bag swaying with every step the human takes. He heard their conversation. The human had been hesitant, but only when he initially heard the price – when the god-awful cashier just had to make a little comment, that’s when he was being purchased, fucking bought willingly. Without any damn hesitation. His nails dug into the candy below him, sure to leave deep dents in it. His breathing had gone haywire since his realization, and it hasn’t gone back to normal since. Beads of tears built up in the corner of his eyes and he couldn’t help but just allow himself to sob. One final time, he will sit in this bag and cry. 

Minutes after minutes pass by, and his surroundings continue to sway. The only thing he can hear is the crowded chatter of passing humans, where their shadows continue to make his natural light flicker. Wilbur wishes to scream. But, before he can develop that sudden thought, the swaying stops. And there is a gentle, quiet gush of wind as he’s set down. The movement is followed with the closing of a door.

Wilbur shuffles, nearly tearing his hands from the chocolates. He cringes at the feeling under his nails, but he doesn’t stop his quick movements to the ‘window.’ 

Through the small hole, Wilbur can see the human who’d bought him not…..Wilbur does not know how long ago it was. Minutes blended into each other when he wasn’t in control of his thoughts.

He had blond hair, far different than his, while still holding a similar style. Or, at least, that’s what Wilbur remembers his hair to look like. Truth be told, it’s been an absurd number of months since he’s last seen what he looks like. For all he knows, there could be a drastic change in his appearance.

Shifting his attention back to the human, his heart sinks as he catches onto the youth the boy has. There was absolutely no fucking way he was over twenty, which, in his opinion, could either be extremely good, or extremely bad. On one hand, he could be innocent and inexperienced. Where in his eyes, he was just buying a bag of chocolates from a local store he’d stumbled upon. And, on another, more immoral hand, he could be starting sinister habits at a young age, where he’s only just starting his now-career of finding pleasure in ending the lives of an innocent. Starting, or maybe continuing, with Wilbur.

He exhaled heavily while he kept his eyes on the blond specifically, not bothering to check the surroundings of where he’s going to reside, and most likely die, in.

Wilbur let out a startled noise as he realized the human had lost interest in whatever he had been doing and reminded himself of the bag of candy. Shit. Wilbur didn’t have anywhere to go as the boy’s shadow filled the pinhole and left him in a deep darkness. He felt when the bag collided with the open air. He felt the panic rise back in him when the human began moving elsewhere. Wilbur wondered if the boy knew. There was a low chance he didn’t – after all, the store he was in specifically held illegal products containing the small species. It was a false hope to think he simply wandered in there one evening to buy just a bag of chocolate.

Wilbur was set down once more. One final time. Wilbur tried to enjoy his last final minutes of life, but he found it hard to when he was in the same place he’d been in for months. 

He listened intently as the sound of the secure strip above the opening for the bag was ripped, and most likely set aside. Nerve fluttered through every crevice of his body. He wished to bury himself deep within the candy below, so he would not yet have to meet his sudden fate. But the thought died down as he realized he was far too late to make a last-ditch-effort of a plan, for the top of the bag was being effortlessly opened, and content, tired blue eyes that turned curious and frightened shined down onto him. A fresh wave of cool air washed over him, and he hates to admit that it felt refreshing. The void was wiped away instantly. Everything he ever complained about internally was buried away, completely vanishing. However, a new concern grew. The human’s eyes had gone wide, with lips parted as he stared, mouth agape. He didn’t utter words; he just returned the gaze. He glared, though. Brows furrowed in anger as he tightened his jaw. Tears still formed at the edge of his eyes, easily falling over the edge.

A lot of things became apparent to him when he caught sight of the small brunet, blending in with similarly colored chocolates. In fact, everything became apparent. The odd conversation, that prime-awful smirk, the reason behind the store being tucked away. 

“Shit,” he muttered, not daring to take his eyes away from the small guy. He saw how his small eyes became foggy with tears. Poor fucking thing was scared. And not only because of him, but because some assholes made a grand decision to add living, breathing humans to food items. Suddenly a lot of his complaints and whines seemed childish.

Tommy hadn't a clue over what was happening in a tinies life. When he watched them closely on the streets, they looked just as a human usually would, happy and giddy with each other despite a small hint of caution. He had never taken into consideration what else might be happening.
