Kamaitachi songs that I think fit JSHK characters
Hello there! I thought about making this post because many of this artist's songs remind me of JSHK
–> Well, but who is Kamaitachi you ask me? Kamaitachi is a Brazilian singer and composer who writes songs on a variety of themes, the most common being romantic and horror themes. His musical style is varied, with indie, rock, blues, pop, jazz and others in his composition.
–> In addition, Kamaitachi created his own universe in his songs, having connected songs telling a story such as 'Bob', 'O Sono de Emily' and 'Sr. Sono'. The name Kamaitachi is inspired by Japanese folklore, where "Kama" means cuts and "Itachi" means weasel, representing the sweet and sour crowd.
Well, now that you know him, let's get to the songs and characters! :)
Hanako-kun with 'O Fantasma'
Tumblr media
'O Fantasma' translates to 'The Ghost', this song reminds me of Hanako not only because of the name, but also because of the ghostly and melancholic melody. The song demonstrates an internal struggle and a search for redemption. In the song, the lyrical self wants to remove a part of himself, which would be the "ghost", a part that haunts him. The part that reminds me most of Hanako is this one:
I was never an angel
I didn't even have wings to fly away
From what afflicts me
But I was once a demon
And I had to die
To learn how to live as a human being
The theme in general fits very well with Hanako, besides at the end of the song the lyrical self apologizes to someone dear to him for everything that happened. Promising to change and to no longer let the "rays of the past" haunt his life and everyone else's. Remembering Hanako with Yashiro or even with Tsukasa.
Tsukasa Yugi with 'O Sono de Emily'
Tumblr media
'O Sono de Emily' translates to 'The Sleep of Emily'. The song features themes of friendship, fear and a plan beyond the tangible, featuring the lyrical self as a little boy named Bob who tries to reach out and befriend a girl named Emily. It's also shown that they are "shadows" and that Bob wants to keep Emily with him. This song reminds me a lot of Tsukasa's relationship with the entity, both in the old and new timelines. Unfortunately, I can't really develop the similarities since we don't know much about how exactly the entity works. However, we do know that Tsukasa makes friends with the entity. The song has a more intense and somewhat sinister melody, as if it were on another plane, and Bob's lines are kinda unsettling.
The song fits very well with Tsukasa's aura, as it presents a very powerful childlike entity that conveys fear of the unknown, just like Tsukasa in all its versions.
Nene Yashiro with 'Alice' (tw: drugs)
Tumblr media
'Alice' alludes to the character Alice from "Alice in Wonderland" bringing a dark meaning that has been used several times, that Alice was under the influence of illicit substances and hallucinating everything she saw. Supernatural things are not things that people normally see, you shouldn't see things that don't exist, but Yashiro does. It wouldn't be so absurd, if we put it into reality, to imagine that Yashiro would be under the effect of something. The song brings up the theme of drug addiction and its terrible consequences, and yet, Nene, who truly sees supernaturals, has also had consequences (mostly psychological). And let's be honest, to an outsider, Yashiro really does seem to be hallucinating.
Tsukasa Yugi with 'O Treco'
Tumblr media
'O Treco' translates to 'The Thing'. the song presents a dark and enigmatic narrative, where the lyrical self describes the unexpected and disturbing visit of a mysterious man.
I had to put him back on the list since this song really suits him as a mysterious antagonist (and there are many edits of him with this song).
Tsukasa is an enigmatic and unpredictable figure, always appearing out of nowhere and giving many jumpscares to the characters. However, most of the time he actually has an "invitation" when he appears, which is a deep wish made by a supernatural. I think the song suits him very well, especially in this new reality, where he's a bizarre and disturbing child entity, presenting the unknown and danger in the face of those who face him.
Hanako-kun and Aoi Akane with 'Às Cegas no Monte'
Tumblr media
'Às Cegas no Monte' translates to 'Blind On the Hill' and the song brings a reflection on the journey of life and the relentless search for happiness. This song reminds me of them in the "To The Far Shore" arc due to the literal meaning of the song since we follow a "train" throughout the song. Throughout the lyrics, it's possible to observe many similarities, such as a train that runs without stopping, something that reminds us of dawn and the desire to still want to be happy even if "it's not the time to be happy."
In its meaning, the song presents the search for happiness, which is something that both Hanako and Aoi seek, even if it's almost impossible to achieve, and it's also about the journey of life, or in this case, the journey that has ended. The song has a calm melody, but it manages to bring a weight to certain phrases and this vibe reminds me of the two of them at the beginning of this arc, a heavy atmosphere but they still try to avoid it by talking about what their lives were like.
Hanako-kun and Nene Yashiro with 'Carnaval'
Tumblr media
'Carnaval' which translates to 'Carnival' is about longing and desire, intertwined with the hope of reunion. The song features a lyrical self who misses the other person and who always asks if his partner is okay, indicating that perhaps they haven't seen each other for a while. And in the chorus, the song uses a metaphor, saying that the kiss of this person reminds him of Carnival (a typical Brazilian party) because of all the excitement and effervescence that this party brings.
This all brings out the essence of Hananene, this concern for each other, the occasional separations and the desire. And also all the little moments apart where count the minutes until they meet again. The song features an upbeat instrumental that creates a good vibe and brings a feeling of happiness, especially when you think about your loved one. A really good match with these two.
Hanako-kun and Nene Yashiro with "O Sol e a Lua"
Tumblr media
'O Sol e a Lua' translates to 'The Sun and the Moon' the song addresses, in a poetic and figurative way, the relationship between the celestial bodies Sun and Moon, presenting the feeling of revealing oneself and mutual protection. Demonstrating love and how both are important to maintain life. In addition to the music having references to other spatial aspects.
I know that the sun and moon are concepts mainly attributed to the twins in JSHK, but considering romantic dynamics, Hanako and Yashiro fit perfectly into "sun and moon". Hanako is the moon being the most mysterious and serious side of the relationship and Yashiro is the sun being the most cheerful and lively part of the relationship.
I put them back on the list because this song is very hananene coded and I don't know how to explain it other than just saying "it suits them".
Well that's it for now, I hope you enjoyed this list and if you give the songs a chance I'll be happy too! Kamaitachi is a very plural and unique artist, and I really appreciate his work.
Thanks for reading ^^

Favorite horror genre?
uhhhh horror! i wanna say horror is my favorite horror genre :)
To actually answer your question (sorta):
The one I can tolerate watching a movie of: Horror Comedy, Psychological Horror, Werewolf Stories, probably old 70s/80s slasher horror
The ones I enjoy from a far distance (consuming through every which way other than directly): Supernatural Horror, Analog Horror (somewhat), Folk Horror, idk like all of it? I just really like horror in general. My anxiety won't let me touch most horror things with a ten foot pole, however.
I am, without a doubt, a total coward. When I was young I couldn't set foot in a Spirit Halloween bc the sound the welcome mats made scared me. I couldn't handle Courage The Cowardly Dog after that King Ramses' Curse episode. Dolls FREAKED me out, especially American Girl dolls. The concept of ghosts still scares me a LOT.
So, because I'm a coward, and I know my limits, I experience horror in what few ways I can.
If I see absolutely anyone on youtube talking about a horror movie I've never heard of before, I'm absolutely gonna be looking up everything I can about that movie and pretty much experience a deconstructed version of it, a practice that I'm pretty sure takes a year off my younger film degree sister's life every time I do it.
I do horror best in the form of comics, where I'm in complete control of when I'm gonna see Stuff, and the still images are things I can handle way better than Jumpscare City (modern horror films).
I enjoy videos by Ryan Hollinger, May Leitz (Nyxfears), In Praise Of Shadows, Dead Meat, and many more. If you haven't heard of her before btw, DEFINITELY check out Nyxfears if you haven't already.
My thoughts are very scattered here. Anyway yeah i like horror :)

FNAF is so intriguing because it has the duality I crave in all media I consume…
It has murder. Horror. Large beasts with rows and rows of sharp teeth and claws. A fundamentally tragic story underlining everything, a story about loss and vengeance and trying and failing. There are legitimately horrifying ideas and scenes. There are scenes that send shivers down your spine and there are images that are brutal and the entire experience is set up to unnerve you, to make you uneasy. It does this so well. From the ambient noises to the music, the whole thing is primed to maks you uncomfortable, even if you never get jumpscared once. It’s fear of the unknown, fear of what you can imagine, fear of what your mind chooses to fill in the gaps with…
But also! Freddy has a cute lil tophat! Foxy as he’s trying to sneak out of Pirate’s Cove is so funny! Shadow Bonnie appears in Ultimate Custom Night just to turn off the lights and smile at you for ten seconds! Over half the known characters (who are not animatronics) are British people living in Utah (of all the places)! Helpy exists! Mr. Hippo rambles! Happy Frog!!! The literal trash! The jar of pickles!! Old man consequences, just a weird-lookin guy (is he an alligator? What’s up with he face?) fishin in the depths.
And that’s just stuff that happened before even the VR game came out! This game series is insane, man, it’s nuts, it’s absolutely wild, it always has been, the murderer is literally a yellow bunny, like, come on, that’s objectively hilarious, he’s killed by his own hubris and stuck in a rabbit costume for the rest of his life and his afterlife. He has to deal with DeeDee singing “How un-for-tu-nate~!” for the rest of eternity, that’s so fucking funny, dude.
It also has the added benefit of making people so upset because people decide to spend time debating the gender of robots. Like??? It’s so funny. “Bonnie’s a girl! Mangle’s a boy! Mangle’s a girl! Funtime Foxy is a girl!” My darling, none of them have genders, they are robots. We only perceive them as gendered because of a long history of contributing certain physical traits to an outdated binary system of gender. Why must the robots have gender? They don’t have to. They are robots. But by God, the discourse is funny.
The series is funny. The Nightmare Animatronics are comically terrifying. Bonnie doesn’t abide by the laws of physics. The Puppet’s walk-cycle in VR is a thing that really exists. FNAF World is adorable and I want to give all of the cutesy animatronics a hug. Mangle is absurdly huggable for a mess of wires. Michael literally became a flesh suit, regurgitated the endo-skeleton living inside of his body (one of the ghosts within being his own fucking sister), then just gets back up. “Father, I should be dead. Pretty sure that should have killed me. Convinced that most people would have died from this experience. Really, it’s a feat of scientific marvel that I’m still alive, if you think about it.”
William Afton, stuck in a bunny suit behind a wall, listening as the perfect test subject for research on remnant is just standing there, talking about how weird it is that he’s alive (“and purple, Father, I didn’t know- I kind of look like a blueberry”): “This is why I kill children.”
FNAF is so fucking funny and terrifying and tragic and funny, again, all at once, and the time-traveling ballpit is only a small part of that hilarity.

House in Fata Morgana: Door...3+, I don't fuckin know
I have never reviewed a visual novel before, but iscahwynn made me a very generous offer and a long line of patience, knowing that we are trying something very new. To that end: Please don’t spoil me for the game at all! If you are reading this, I have only gotten through the part written above, and I don’t want to be corrected, even if I’m wrong, even if I’ve missed something, i don’t want to have anything confirmed or denied, and I don’t need any trigger warnings or extraneous explanation. Iscah would like my pure, naive experience of the game. Thank you!
Mostly I just wanted to get this down while it was fairly fresh in my mind--I've played SOME of door 4 but I remembered how by the time I got to the end of door 3 I forgot to mention the interlude at all and wanted to avoid that.
So the painting. I'm going to assume that the painting is the White Haired Girl's father as seen in Door one. I don't agree with his idea that we can bear tragedies that don't belong to us, but not our own. I think we seek out tragedies as similarly to our own as possible, to feel known, somehow. To feel understood. Or maybe this is a personality thing, i don't know.
In any case, that's all a device to tell us the next door is a lie up front. Even if I hadn't been a little spoiled for this, I can in fact interpret "When you go through the next door, remember that anything that seems to beautiful and neat to be true probably is" as "this game is going to lie to you" (and as much as I've played in door 4 DON'T TELL ME this seems to be happening) so I'm not as bothered as I might be.
Going through the mansion:
FINALLY A JUMPSCARE. I've been sitting here for 3 doors now going, "Okay, why are these bitches making me wear headphones if it never wants to do something with--okay there it is, finally"
Very interesting to me that we're seeing these shadows and ghosts, if you will, but can't interact with them. Jacopo is no longer good at pool, Nellie and Mell's names are hidden from us, it's such an interesting bit.
I love the idea that the mansion is made of history and memories and of course it is, the mansion is ITSELF a narrative.

What I Read in July!
For so long now I have been in the worst reading slump, getting through a book a month at most, but I got so much read in July and I'm so proud of it. I finally feel a bit more like myself 🥰
1. Babel by RF Kuang
I was dying to read this book for so. long. and it didn't disappoint! This was a fantasy story set in 1800s Oxford in a fictional Translation Institute, Babel. The storyline and imagery was just incredible, and everything felt so accurate to that timeline. The way it explored linguistics and meanings that got lost in translation fascinated me, the characters broke my heart, and the way RF Kuang handles racism in the story was just as educational, accurate and raw as always. Anybody who read this and said 'oh it made me feel guilty for being white!'.... you're the problem.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
2. Gallant by VE Schwab
This was a really satisfying fast read in my opinion, or maybe after the monster that is Babel anything would seem fast 😂. Since many pages are taken up by illustrations and journal pages with little writing, the story itself is fast but still really good. It explores a girl in an orphanage who has always been able to see ghosts, and the only possession she has is her mother's journal who tells her she will be safe as long as she stays away from Gallant. I am a sucker for dark fantasy and the concept of entities entering from other worlds, and really loved this story. I did feel slightly underwhelmed at the ending, but the story and atmosphere was enjoyable nonetheless.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
3. Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
Trust me when I tell you that this is what Shadow and Bone wishes it could be. Murder, secret societies, college campus, magic and a girl who can see ghosts. What's not to love?! I adored Alex's sarcastic character, and her back story was so raw and unjust. If you like dark academia vibes and fantasy, just read it. One of my top books without a doubt.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
4. Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo
If course I immediately devoured the sequel and was not left disappointed. Finding out more about a certain ability interested me so much, and so many elements came full circle! Fair warning however, this is not the end, and now I must endure the wait for book 3 🥲. Story of my life.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
5. A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske
Honestly I tend to stay away from romance books for the most part because of amatonormative themes that often crop up, but in my experience gay romance is more modern in that sense, and this plot was far to amazing sounding for me to skip. Yet another historical setting, a misunderstanding that plunges somebody not magical into the magical world, curses, and forbidden gay love. What's not to love! That twist at the end of something unrectified was brilliant and I will have to read the second book very soon!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨️/5
Other
Now this isn't technically a book.... but I mean audiobooks count as reading so audiodramas do too? Right? 😂
I am currently in the depths of a Magnus Archives obsession, and finished season 2 in July. I am now halfway through season 3 and so much is happening I am enraptured. I need to know everything-
The Magnus Archives is a horror audiodrama (but more the slightly gorey than jumpscare type. As someone who reads dark fantasy and not horror I still enjoy it). The Magnus Institue deals with researching paranormal cases and investigating their credibility, but everything mentioned becomes important at some point. That is how beautifully crafted it is. Names and themes crop up over and over and you find yourself trying to make so many connections. Its just amazing
If you do plan on listening to it, don't worry if you don't notice connections at first. It's at MAG 16-20 you should start noticing the similarities. Season 2 (MAG 40-80) was a bit of a drag, but trust me when I say it crawled so Season 3 could run like a maniac. New obsession here I come.
3.5-4 stars for Season 2 but 5 stars for season 3 so far!
Thank you for reading, I hope you'll give one of these a try!

Shadow Episode 9 Espookys/warnings:
@respectthepetty more of the same really.
Flashbacks to episode 8's espookys, notably the dead girls (oh there's a creepy jumpscare here with one I forgot to mention on the other post) and Trin attacking Dan.
Nai speaks for a ghost but all we see of the ghost is their feet.
Dan dreams about the one-armed man in chains but he is mostly shadowed
The monk performs a ritual on Dan to make the Shadow disappear.

the first paranormal activity movie was scary bc it had the "it could've happened to you. it still could happen to you. are you brave enough to sleep with the lights out? is your house yours or do you belong to this house or something so sinister you couldn't see it in your worst nightmare?" factor which was amazing. the second and third one took that fear off bc the haunting/possession was linked to a family BUT the fear was replaced with "what if your family was also fucked up and someone made a deal with demon but you was never aware of it because that's not exactly the thing you'd talk about during family dinners? what if you were cursed bc someone in my family was greedy enough to sacrifice you even before i was born?". the ghost dimension however lifted both of those fears off to replace it with "oooh scary dark shadow thing just hanging around in a very specific house linked directly to the first haunting/possession. the child is becoming possessed in such a way it could have been an early season supernatural episode. scary shadow thing and scary little girl in a white nightgown ooooooo so scary so terrifying are you shaking in your boots yet or is another jumpscare necessary?" which was well. pissing on the whole franchise with a movie with plot so dense yet so disconnected to the main storylines it could've been a standalone movie not linked to ANY horror movie franchise and that separation, in my opinion, could've saved the whole thing

Ghosts: an essay :)
When I say the word “ghost” most people will immediately think about the ones in horror movies. The ones that like to scare people by moving objects in their house and randomly appearing behind them when they look in the mirror. But ghosts aren’t just cheap jumpscares to startle you when you don’t expect it, although using them as a scary monster in films can work really well if done in an original way. People are scared of the unknown, of what they can’t understand or see, and ghosts are exactly that. You don’t know what they look like, how they move, whether or not they can actually walk through walls and, most importantly, you don’t know what they want. Maybe they’re just curious or want to mess around a little bit, or maybe they’re one of your relatives or friends, who simply want to make sure you’re doing alright after you lost them. Then again, it is possible they want to scare the living hell out of you, and then kill you, or possess your body.
The most well-known type of ghost is what I like calling the “sheet ghost”. As the name indicates, this is the ghost that looks like a human with a bed sheet draped over ‘em, usually with two holes cut out where the eyes are supposed to be, so basically, it’s your typical Halloween ghost.
An evil spirit resembling this description is the one in the incredibly underrated “Under the Shadow”, a Persian horror film released in 2016. For most of the runtime, a mother and her daughter are haunted by something they can only manage to catch glimpses of, and if that wasn’t enough, their country is also being bombed. The spirit is particularly interested in the little girl, constantly hiding her toys and blocking her way to keep her from leaving. The reason why is unclear, but I’m guessing it wanted to either possess or eat her. Either way, its true form is finally revealed at the end of the third act, and it is not what you would usually expect: it looks like a bed sheet, but a massive one, and not one hiding a person underneath it. It can expand and move in a weirdly fluid way, and it turns into something resembling black tar. The little girl sinks in it as if it were sand, but she manages to get away, thanks to her mother. I like to think this creature is a collection of all the people previously lost due to the bombings, trying to claim the lives the bombs couldn’t, that won’t stop until it is defeated, or until it consumes every single person living in the country.
Previously, I used the word “haunting”. It is one of my favourite words, because of how many meanings it can take, and the weight that comes with saying it. It isn’t always something to be scared of, in fact most of the time, it just saddens me. Ghosts are, in my opinion, the saddest thing you could use in a film, whether it be a horror or something else. I view them in a more sympathetic way than most, because I see them as people, not scary monsters. Ghosts are people that have died, and aren’t ready to move on, or aren’t capable of passing to the other side for whatever reason. Oftentimes they have unfinished business to attend to, or weren’t, in any way shape or form, ready to die.
Writer and director Mike Flanagan aka the “horror king”, is the best at writing ghost stories. His most famous work, “the Haunting of Hill House” is one of the most incredible series I have ever watched. It is about five siblings, who’s mother is dead, and father absent from their lives. And then the unthinkable happens: little Nellie kills herself. The others are left wondering why she did that, and all blame themselves for not helping when she asked. They’re all haunted by the memories they have of her, as well as their own ghosts. For Luke, Nellie’s twin, it’s the tall man with the walking stick and hat; for Theo, the middle sister it’s the smiling man; for Shirley, the older sister, it’s the man she had an affair with; and for Steve, the eldest son, it’s mostly Nellie. Nellie, haunted by the bent-neck lady. Nellie, who haunted everyone.
The thing is, they’ve all been haunted since they were kids, since they moved into Hill House. Everything was fine before then. But the house ruined it all. It made their mother lose herself, little by little, until she almost killed her husband while sleepwalking. It scarred the children, a scar that will never fully heal. All because of some damn ghosts. They became adults, and lived somewhat happy lives, until their sister’s untimely death. After that, their ghosts came back to haunt them. Until they all came back to the house. Throughout the show, we are left wondering who these ghosts are, and why they choose to follow the kids. Most of them end up being people that used to live in Hill House, but one of them was an entirely different thing. The bent-neck lady, the one that haunted Nellie was… Nellie. She didn’t kill herself. Her own mother did. She died and she wanted her family back, so she strung a rope around her daughter’s nape, and watched her fall, breaking her neck. Nellie had been haunting herself the whole time. It’s like she knew it was going to happen, like she was trying to warn herself not to go back to the house. But she did, and nothing can change that.
In the end her father joins her and her mother, in order to let the others live. Acceptance. That is what Nellie represents. The final stage of the grief process. Because what are ghosts, if not our grief manifesting. Like Steve said: “ghosts are guilt, ghosts are secrets, ghosts are regret and failings. But most times, most times a ghost is a wish”. Ghosts can be anything, even memories. That is what makes the whole concept of ghosts such a sad one. Ghosts are the manifestation of one’s own grief and despair and fears. It can be someone you once loved, or a total stranger. Ghosts are anything and everything and nothing, all at once.
Another Flanagan masterpiece is “The Haunting of Bly Manor”. In this one, the main character, Dani, is haunted by her fiance’s ghost. He died seconds after she told him she wanted to call off their engagement. So she moves to England, to work as an Au Pair at Bly Manor, taking care of the two little kids. But her fiance isn’t the only ghost, because anyone that dies on the manor’s ground is cursed to stay there. No one who dies at Bly Manor ever truly leaves. The lady in the lake won’t let them go. The ghosts in this story are different from the ones in Hill House, because they can possess people. Two of them possess the kids, one because he wants the family's fortune, and one because she loves him. She changes her mind at the end, but somebody needs to take the lady in the lake’s place; and that will be Dani. Dani, whom Jamie, the florist, loved more than anything. Dani who restored her faith in people. Dani, who came to see her love every night, to rest her hand on hers, so they would always be together. Even if you can’t see them, they’re always there. Your ghosts, and only yours. They will never leave. That is why it is called a “haunting”. Everybody is haunted by something or someone. Whether they realise it or not is up to them.
But the ghost that really moved me was Hanna. Hanna was the caretaker of the Manor, and she died. She got pushed to the bottom of the well. But she didn’t know. She didn’t know she had died. She was so in denial, even the others could see and talk to her. When she realised what happened she wailed. She didn’t want to die. But that was something she had to accept in the end. It’s not like she could come back. At least she got to talk to the cook, Owen, one last time. Owen who knew she was dead, and helped her through it.
Being a ghost would be torture, because you can’t do anything. All you can do is watch. Watch your kids grow up without you. Watch your partner find someone else. Watch your family move on. You’ll miss out on so many experiences, so many of your dreams will never see the light. You’re helpless, useless, and completely, utterly alone. You’ll die of loneliness over and over and over again. And no one will know. No one will know your suffering and your pain. You will never be able to rest, unless you move on from your own demise. But how could you possibly do that? A24’s “A Ghost Story” is a perfect example of that.
Ghosts can be an apparition. They can guide you from another world and give you hope. In the very popular anime “Attack on Titan”, what happens is exactly that. I won’t get into its complicated and convoluted story, because the ghosts only appear right at the end. They appear in front of their living friends, after they had won the war, to show them that they knew. They knew that their death wasn’t in vain, and they wanted the people they cared about to know that they knew. That it was worth it. Levi, who lost literally all of his friends, finally found closure by seeing them one last time. By paying his final respects and giving his regards. All without having to say a single word. It is easily my favourite scene in the show. Sometimes, words are just not needed. I feel like ghosts are the perfect vehicle for that.
A similar thing happens in “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure”, but this time, the ghosts actually speak. They encourage their friends and family to keep going without them. They give them hope and that is exactly what a ghost is. Hope. Because you know that there’s a ghost looking out for you. There always is. Whether it’s someone you know, or a complete stranger, you can always count on the fact that you’re not alone. If you want to make that creepy instead of sentimental, go ahead. I’m sure your ghost is going to have fun with it.
Ghosts can be a friend. In the 1985 film “Night on a Galactic Railroad”, Campanella guides his friend Giovanni, on the best and worst train ride of his lifetime. While riding the train, the two see amazing and whimsical things. They explore interesting towns and have fun together. But Giovanni doesn’t know that this is the last time he’ll see his best friend. He died. Everyone in town is looking for his body. He’s on the train to the afterlife, or whatever lies after death. Campanella knows this. And he knows that he’s the one that has to get off at the last stop, leaving his best friend behind. So he makes sure they have fun on their last adventure together, before he inevitably has to say goodbye.
Finally, ghosts can be a helper, like the three kids in “Coraline” who aided her escape. That way she wouldn’t meet the same demise they did. They helped her, even though she was a complete stranger. But that didn't matter to them. They were selfless ‘til the very end.

In the shadows of the tree Eath was hanging onto, something rustled amongst the branches and leaves. Maybe it was Beebz trying to see what all the fuss was about...but....why did the air get so cold? And....was that hair crawling up the branches like serpents?!
Tumblr media
Suddenly, a terrifying apparition flew out from the shadows and let out a bone-chilling screech! But the screech was cut off when the jumpscaring ghost girl got a good look at Eath's face. Her hair parted, revealing that...well...it was a lil kid, nearly the same age as Beebz.
Tumblr media
In fact, the ghost looked absolutely confused, as if she expected someone else to be in the tree instead of Eath. She didn't say anything though, she just sort of continued to float in the air as she stared at Eath with a curious gaze.
Eath had climbed up this tree mostly to hide from everyone as she was processing the news Agares had given her. Tears streaming down her face, quiet sniffles occasionally leaving her as she mutters to herself in her native tongue.
So caught up in her grief, she doesn't notice the mass of hair until it screeches at her. Doesn't realizes she's sensing this spirit until she too is screaming. The small girl freezing up in her terror before falling right out of the tree onto the forest floor.
For a moment she just lays on the ground, seemingly dead, before she sits up, shakes herself off, and stares up at the apparition

Hi
I've never done this before
But can I request Sodo x Reader. They had just watched a scary movie with the ghouls, and like the reader just can't get to sleep so Sodo like calms them down and soothes them or maybe sings to them.
I just watched quite possibly the scariest movie I've seen in my time on this earth and I need the comfort...
Thank you 🐉🐉
Ahh, tis the spooky night and P cannot yet fall asleep!! I would love to write this and my apologies if it is short!

Everyone Gets A Little Scared Sometimes
Dewdrop x Reader Fluff
Summary: It is a night of horrors. And a night of refusing to pee alone.
Warnings: Fluffffff
Tumblr media
GIF NOT MINE!!
•--•
You were jumpy tonight, more so than you usually were. Why? Well, because your dork of a boyfriend decided to put on the single-handedly most scariest movie you'd ever seen. Snuggled into his arms, under a blanket, yes you felt safe but this feeling of paranoia was sent up your spine and engulfed you whole, making the shadows that the candle you had lit even more scary. You jumped at every noise, shielded your eyes every time suspense started building through music and audio cues.
And, every time you were calmed down from a scare, you were reminded of the fact that this was mandatory. It was a Halloween Eve tradition for Sodo to watch a scary movie, the scariest out at the time. Your boyfriend loved it, he absolutely adored the tradition, laughing in the face of a jumpscare and even joining in with the film by scaring you with fast movements while everything was eerily silent. He found it all funny and partially ridiculous.
But you didn't. Of course you believed in ghosts and demons and you believed in witches and bad omens. You were literally dating a ghoul.
The movie ended, a pan of the dead teenagers, turning to the end where a girl stood, blood covering her head to toe, smeared across her face as her deceased mother faded in behind her. The girl was pretty much "avenging" her mother's ghost because her mom wanted her to kill a bunch of people. Plain and simple.
"Why did they have to pop out so much? Can't they just be like normal people and just not be so creepy?" you whined a complain, hugging Dewdrop's arm. He chuckled, shifting his way up and attempting to stand, but he was kept down by your body still on the couch. You could say you were still with freight. Or still with the fact that everything seemed to move now.
"What? You wanna stay here and watch the credits roll with me?" he teased, poking your nose with his index finger. A shadow flickered on the wall, making you look around for intruders. Your ghoul sighed dramatically, "Well I have to pee, so if you wanna follow me, go right ahead."
And you did exactly that, following Sodo to the bathroom and standing there outside the door with your body pressed to it. You tried not to look around you, scared of what you might see in the shadows of your apartment. You let out a small scream, seeing the TV turn back onto the streaming screen with a sudden flash of light.
"Calm down out there, I'm almost done sweet girl," the fire ghoul laughed. You missed him being near you, he was so warm and safe and made you feel like you wouldn't actually be slaughtered.
Dewdrop opened the door, making you stumble a bit before he pulled you into his arms with a smirk, "I've never seen you want to be near me so much. I kinda like it."
You slapped his chest with you hand and he shook his head, snatching up the blanket on the couch you had and blowing out the candles, leaving on the nightlights in the kitchen. He let you cling to him the whole time before he started for the bedroom and you found relief wash over you.
Dragging you into bed with him, he covered you in blankets and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you to rest your head on his chest. His hand pet your hair softly, running fingers through the delicate strands and purring at the fact that you held him like he was some sort of life support. The rumbling in his chest allowed you to calm down more, hand resting on his stomach and rubbing small circles into it.
"You know that I'll always keep you safe, right baby?" Dewdrop asked, voice startling you for a second.
"Yeah.. I'm just scared. All those things are real, Dew, things like that can happen."
He ran his hands under your hair and over your neck, trailing his hard palm to your cheek and allowing his fingers to massage your face tenderly.
"They would have to go through me. I don't think you realized that, love, I wouldn't let anything hurt you unless it killed me first. And I will stand by that as long as I am present on this very plane of existence."
You smiled into the dark, looking up to see his eager, yellow eyes glowing through the pitch black. And for the first time tonight, something so ethereal and terrifying made you feel at peace.

Demigod MC Series: Hades
Demigod MC Series: Intro, Aphrodite, Hermes, Hades
Lucifer
Well… this is awkward…
He’s actually met Hades multiple times for business reasons (Underworld-Devildom relations are amiable if not a little odd. Hades was something of an uncle figure to Diavolo as a wee demon lad, which should speak for itself really). He’s a gloomy fellow and not much for chit-chat, but he never thought they’d end up taking one of his kids by accident…
He had to send a formal apology letter to the Lord of the Underworld immediately, but thankfully he didn’t seem very concerned for his offspring - if anything he appeared to think the Devildom would suit them nicely which was… concerning.
And he was not wrong. The darkness, demons, ghouls, and frights of the Devildom hardly seemed to faze the MC, if anything they fit right in. He’d dare say they were thriving if not for one thing…
They were So. Damn. Bleak.
Getting a smile out of this one AT ALL was rare. For once he felt the need to check up on someone constantly just to be sure they were alright... They’d keep assuring the House that they’re not actually as sad as they look but it’s hard not to assume…
He was a little mortified at first when they first met Cerberus cause… well they called him “Cerbi” and the massive demonic guard dog rolled over for them like a Golden Retriever!
Apparently he and the Cerberus that they knew are from the same litter and they must have smelt familiar... He would have probably limited their interactions just to keep his dog on his side but after seeing the MC smile for once while they played with the big oaf well…
Cerberus got a new playmate and the MC got a massive, three-headed therapy animal. Win-win. 😌
Mammon
Do ya really gotta be such a downer all the time, MC…? 😔
He thinks they’re nice, like really nice. They’re always super concerned when his brothers attack him or when he gets injured, but he’s pretty sure it’s because they’ve seen people die before so…
At first, he had no idea why he had to be saddled with this depressing wisp of mortal but over time he started to understand that they weren’t all that sad. They had… Resting Gloom Face? Is that a thing?
They also had a different way of seeing things. He could win the lottery and they’d tell him to stay inside so he wouldn’t get hit by lightning or if he pissed off the wrong people, they’d joke about him keeping his fingers and toes. Dark stuff, but not intended to be so… well morbid.
However, what he eventually found out that the REAL advantage to having a Hades kid in the Devildom was that nothing scared them. Literally nothing. Not even the ghosts - which to reiterate, are terrifying!
Cue Mammon getting dragged to horror movies nights with his brothers and pulling the MC along to be his personal security blanket. He’ll hold onto them for dear life as they just pat his head or something, watching and not even flinching at the jumpscares.
The first time the House had an unexpected power outage he clung onto the back of their shirt like a lost child while they calmly looked for the circuit-breaker...
If he could jump into their arms every time something scary happened like Scooby-Doo, he absolutely would. His brothers make fun of him, but after seeing the MC handle Cerberus like a puppy any time something frightens them they hide behind the mortal as well…
Leviathan
In some ways, he totally relates to their moodiness but come on! Who can still look so sad when watching The Magical Ruri Hanai: Demon Girl?? Ruri-chan can make anyone smile! 😠
When he first met the MC, he was a little confused about why they didn't find him intimidating at all. He even reverted to his demon form and showed his fangs but no dice! All they said was, "I've walked along the edge of Tartarus. You're gonna have to try a lot harder than that, buddy…"
That was probably his first sign that the "human" wasn't normal…
After Mammon told him who their Dad was, things made a lot more sense. A child of Hades in the Devildom? That's ironic enough to be its own anime plot!! They certainly felt like an angsty protagonist at times. 🤷‍♀️
Truth be told, they could relate to each other in a lot of ways. You wouldn't think that an offspring of the Underworld and a demonic shut-in would have much in common but the one thing they share between them is that sense of never really fitting in.
Turns out that Hades kids are black sheep, even among other demigods, and Levi? Well, he's had trouble relating to others since his angel days. He and the mortal were like off-beat kindred spirits!
Which, I mean, you wouldn't get just by looking at them together. Levi being the impassioned super-otaku rambling their ear off while his somber companion would just go along with him quietly, but hey, there's more beneath the surface. Probably.
Now if he could just get them to cosplay as the Lord of Emptiness with him… They'd be perfect! Perfect he says!!
Satan
Highly considered drugging their food with antidepressants for a while…
This was before getting to know them better, of course, but for the first couple months he honestly couldn't shake the feeling that the mortal looked miserable!
Now, he's one to particularly care for the comfort of strangers, but just looking at them like that every day would sour his own mood quite considerably. It was very irritating...
It was only on closer inspection that he realized there was something else at play, though.
The mortal was different - even for a demigod he imagined. They took to the Devildom easily and the realm almost accepted them right back!
The flora looked better in their presence, the hellish beasts that roamed the wilds would roll over for them, and they even seemed to be welcomed in by the never-ending shadows…
It was fascinating. Like the effects of the Underworld were baked into their DNA and mingled with the environment around them… Two layers of darkness coexisting within one person.
I mean, what other creature - other than Lucifer - could ride Cerberus around like a pony??
Had they not been so kind, they'd probably scare him shit-less... Their potential power was too great to ignore. But after getting used to their gloom, at least they made for pleasant company. 🤷‍♀️
Satan likes them well enough, but even still he has to wonder just what they were capable of… you know?
Asmodeus
Oh. My. WORD. What a buzzkill!!!
Really, the new mortal was no good at parties or pictures for that matter!
Not because they looked bad, or even because he couldn't get them to smile, but because GHOSTS would always photobomb any pictures they were in!! 😫
One time he got a selfie with them on the couch and a creepy ghost child could be seen hiding behind the cushions so NOPE. No more photos with the mortal around!!
Aside from that, he couldn't say the mortal was all bad or anything…They were pretty friendly, despite their general look and feel.
Though, personally, he thought they wore far too much black... Even in the Devildom, there's normally a pop of color, you know? Was that just the Hades dress code?
And you want to know the weirdest thing? Despite everything about them screaming "Doom and Gloom," they're straaaangely popular among the RAD dating scene…
Like. Not as some heartthrob, "Love'em and Leave'em"-type, but he's found that there's a LOT of his demonic classmates who think they're cute or have a crush on them in some way…
Naturally, he can see the appeal of the mysterious, moody demigod with a dark, troubled past. It's just the demigod in question is completely oblivious to it! 🤷‍♀️
He tried to give them dating tips or play matchmaker from time to time but eventually gave up when it was clear they weren't interested. Alas, students of RAD, this is one forbidden fruit that refuses to be shared…! Such a tragedy… 😔
Beelzebub
They remind him of Belphie… like. A lot.
The similarities were obvious. They had a similar feel, made similar jokes, and even the same somewhat dreary attitude about them...
If he were being honest, at the beginning there were times when he'd open up to them a lot more than he intended because he'd forget that he wasn't actually talking to Belphie…
Thankfully, he knew better than to try and treat them like his replacement or anything. They were two different people after all. But it didn't stop him from feeling extra protective around them for a while.
Besides, there was ONE thing that set them leagues apart from Belphie and that was the fact they were a shit cook. Not quite as bad as Solomon but uh… Actually no, that's a closer call than it has any right to be...
Apparently, Hades kids don't need to eat as much and when you hang out with shades and skeletons for most of your life, you don’t really worry about making food that's any better than… "Well, technically it's edible." 🤷‍♀️
Their food won't kill a person like Solomon's, but you WILL start seeing stuff you probably shouldn't. He tried their "soup" once and swore he saw the ghost of his mother… and he doesn't even have a mother!!!
He swears that if he ever sees the MC and Solomon working together in the same kitchen he's skipping town… Whatever culinary abomination the two of them could create would probably gain sentience and eat HIM instead. He's always figured he'd go out with Death by Food, but not like that!! 😫
Belphegor
Ever meet someone who’s like looking in a mirror? Yeah, he’s getting those vibes…
He never expected the "human" to be so similar to him, it was kind of uncanny.
Upon first laying eyes on each other there was a pause… then a squint… and then… a nod.
Honestly, their combined dry wit, dark humor, and pessimistic outlook played off of each other surprisingly well. Too well for him to hate, really.
Not that it mattered because they didn’t believe him for a second when he tried to trick them (they had dealt with loads of lying monsters before). He hated to admit it, but they had a good head on their shoulders and knew better than to trust a locked up demon…
And yet, they seemed to stick around with him anyway. Because of the good conversation or just empathizing with his loneliness was anyone's guess. 🤷‍♀️
Sometimes they'd come up and sit outside the door in comfortable silence… Or they'd talk about whatever:
MC: *sitting out by the attic with their back against the door* So what happens to demons when they die…?
Belphie: *laying on the floor on the other side, staring at the ceiling* Depends on the kind. If I die, I'll just reform later.
MC: Like a reincarnation?
Belphie: Eh. *shrugs* Maybe. Haven't died yet.
MC: You could die in there, you know.
Belphie: *throws a side glare* Well thanks for bringing that up…
MC: *shrugs* What? It's true. But don't worry, I won't let you. *small-ish smile*
Belphie: *stares at them wide-eyed and pink-cheeked before turning on his side quickly* Ugh… whatever…
They did their word, somehow. They eventually got the door open and let him out, but by that time the anger was gone and he was just happy to finally talk to them face-to-face...
And good thing too, because apparently it's not smart to fight a death-child in what is essentially their element - as he saw when they summoned an army of skeletons to kick Levi's ass when he cheated them in Devil Cart...
He would not have lasted in that fight... Dodged a bullet there.

Redesigned FNAF Lore to Match the Redesigns?
These FNAF redesigns I’m doing are making me think of different ways certain points of the overall redesign story could go. I put so many thoughts into this, I’m putting this under a “Keep Reading”. Enjoy?
*FNAF 1 and 2 don’t actually include Mike, because he’s too young/in college. I say this because FNAF 1 is in 1993-ish and FNAF 2 is 1987. The Bite of ‘87 gets closure due to a newspaper article hidden in the FNAF 2 end page. Turns out it was a malfunctioning animatronic that bit someone’s head. That’s it, really. The crazier stuff, of course, would be later on. This would be just a pre-show.
*FNAF 3 Springtrap can kind of talk, but it’s very very hoarse. You’d have to pull that figuring out what the FNAF 2 minigames were trying to spell maneuver. And, even then, you’d have to discern what his intent is. Is it a trick or a cry for help?
*Maybe Spring’s weak jumpscare would be on purpose. (1) Literally just figured out how to move again, so gentler movements tests would have to be run. (2) If this is Michael, then Spring might not want to hurt his son… as much.
*Have FNAF 3 hint towards Sister Location by having an ad for it in the newspaper that details the Fazbear Fright fire. Said ad would be highlighted by a drawn circle, implying that’s where Michael is going next. That way, there’d be no huge confusion over the over-arching timeline. Or as much confusion.
*FNAF 4 is just the first set of flashbacks for post-fire Springtrap interlaced with memories Evan has. Maybe a Golden-Freddy like Easter egg with Spring or a bonus 8-bit cutscene with a ghostly Evan greeting his sleeping father for seemingly the last time in the SL alleyway. And then, as it’s about to return to the title screen, a little ghostly girl with a bow in her hair arrives. Only her outline is visible, however, to show that she might not really be there.
*Oh, and the text for the Fredbear Plush is colored purple at certain times. Just an extra thing.
*In SL, we hear some sort of muttering in-between the Elizabeth flashback lines. It grows stronger and stronger until you hear a plaintive yell during Liz’s death. Everything falls silent, switch to gameplay.
*SL plays out, confirms the FNAF 4 placement, but with Ennard splitting between Molten Freddy and Scrap Baby as soon as Mike spews them out. The website Easter egg would‘ve explained why, now buried in the game’s code.
*Pizzeria Sim is the big one, so buckle up. You play as Mike, yes. You salvage the others and help Henry, yes. Scraptrap talks in coherent sentences, big yes. But where it gets interesting is when you do manage to collect them all and head towards the True Ending.
*Scraptrap, for whatever reason, vanishes after a day or so of him being scrapped. As if he’s literally left the building. But you can see that his signal’s still there. Of course, you’re both relieved and confused. What is going on?
*Meanwhile, in the mini-games, Midnight Motorist takes a different angle. You play as Purple Guy, yes. It’s literally confirmed in the sprite color now. But, there’s a catch. You drive home to a big empty house. You enter inside and try to get ready for bed… But something is hounding you. Something that’s not the ghost kids. Something worse.
*”What have you done now?” it asks. “Being a coward like usual?”
*Purple Guy gets unnerved. You try to help him move, but he’s not budging. He’s stuck. Trembling. The background is dark, but you can tell it’s glitching.
*”What? Too scared to answer your own father? SPEAK TO ME!”
*Purple Guy says something, but it’s too small to read. Suddenly, from some reflective surface, a towering shadow pounces on him. Ready to strike.
*Yes, this is Bill, the man hinted at in the Retro CDs in Security Breach. This time, he’s a hallucination William gets when his mind wanders too far back. Even in his days as a killer, Will still dreaded that man.
*Anyway, you play the mini-games to kill time and get the true/lore keeper ending regardless. Scrap Baby does her spiel, you wait for the inevitable, then the fire starts. But, as Henry’s message goes on, you hear a second voice giving its final goodbyes as well. Scraptrap.
*Turns out he was faking his return to being a villain due to all the painful self-reflecting he’s been doing. Or, well, he might‘ve chickened out thanks to Midnight Motorist. He’s not saying exactly why he’s helping. But at least he is, much to Liz’s shock.
*Thankfully, both men say goodbye to their daughters. Henry, a respectful eulogy. Scraptrap, a big ol’ “I’m sorry, but it has to be done”.
*Everything burns, you get your certificate, and go to the hill where the graves are. But, if you stay long enough, the graves will glow like in the FNAF 3 bad ending. And, of course, the covered grave will glow the brightest.
*Then the announcement for UCN arrives.
*Oh, no, you realize. We’re not done.
*Cassidy/Golden Freddy, not being in FNAF 6 or FNAF 3 through SL, hasn’t learned what happened with William. So, feeling vengeful, she drags him to some twisted dreamscape that serves as his “purgatory”. She’s keeping his soul alive and the others captive.
*You play the game, not realizing anything else is wrong until you beat 50/20. Then you get a little something. Purple Guy slumped on the office desk you just played in. He’s breathing hard, obviously tired. Then, sparks of a more neon purple and black spew out of him. To his own confusion, a goopy mess of a rabbit appears and waves back. Then, it vanishes. Fade to title screen.
*A few years later, Help Wanted comes out. Everything plays out as intended, you lock up Glitchtrap, shake your head at the idea of William getting a bad rap in-verse still… Then the DLC arrives.
*It’s normal at first. An Easter Egg here, a clown mini-game that might hint at what’s currently going on in UCN there… And then Vanny’s mask becomes a thing. You head over to the prize corner, equip the plushie and the mask, then the chaos starts.
*You can hear Glitchtrap properly now. He’s talking with Vanny about their vague plan, which wouldn’t be a bigger deal if it weren’t for the fact that he mentions another “him”.
*”You’d make him so proud”, “you have to get him out just like you did with me”, etc.
*Yes, Glitchtrap is split from William. This is confirmed in Princess Quest, when we see the goopy form again.
*Might need to do another post on SB, ‘cause oh b o y do I have ideas now.
*Also, yes, this is going by Will-Grief being a thing. Have fun with that?

Decided to write another snippet. Just a happy, wholesome moment experienced during Avalanche's travels. This time, it can take place anytime after Nibelheim in the OG. They've found an Inn to stay in for the night, and this one has a TV. So, why not watch it?
It was an increasingly well known fact that Tifa did not do ghosts.
So, when the girls decided to take advantage of their stay at the inn with an impromptu movie night, Tifa was faced with a conundrum: enjoy some bonding time with Aerith and Yuffie as they powered through an impossible amount of popcorn, or pout in some random corner because the only choices at this time of night were pornos and horror movies.
As it stood, Tifa wavered in the doorway, clutching her robe tight to her chest as the internal debate waged. Since her clothes were hanging in the attached bathroom to dry from the much needed hand washing, she was limited to what corners she could find comfort in. The inn came with a small library down in the lobby, so she could find a nice novella to ease her to sleep. But then, she'd miss out on the chance to just be a normal girl. It had been years since she was even half that.
A defeated sigh escaped her lips before Tifa took the final steps to her assigned bed, bracing herself for jumpscares and horrible, horrible images that were a little too real. Memories of the Train Graveyard, and mischievous specters sent a shiver of dread down her spine.
To her credit, Aerith was already building a fort of pillows and blankets for the martial artist to hide behind. a child hiding from the monsters in the closet or under the bed. It was the least Aerith could do since this horror movie night was her idea.
Oh, how Tifa knew she was going to regret this. Tifa would have been happy with card games- even if Yuffie was an insufferable cheat that always seemed to get away with it. Not even Vincent could catch her slight of hand.
"Would you relax?" Aerith managed through a chuckle at her expense. "It's nowhere near as bad as real life?"
"Unless it is," Yuffie chortled, still tickled pink by the idea that Tifa was scared of anything. "You sure you don't want us to call Cloud? I'm sure he'd love to join us."
"You two are horrible," was Tifa's utterance as the last of her resolve had her sliding her legs under the copious amounts of blankets. The last thing she wanted was for Cloud to be reminded about how much of a scaredy-cat she was when it came to matters of the occult.
Thirty minutes into the movie, and all three of them were buried to their noses under the covers.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Tifa cursed herself, straining her eyes to search for any moving shadows across the screen- cursing both herself for agreeing to the movie and the stupid youths that insisted on playing the Midnight game.
The blanket hitched higher to obscure part of her vision as Tifa shared in the old woman’s horror when the granddaughter started knocking on the door to summon the Midnight Man. One. Two. Three…...Twenty-One. Twenty-Two. Twenty-Three
Clawing at their door had all three girls near jumping from their skins, heart in their throats. The warm glow of firelight spilled through the crack beneath the door waving to and fro before the door finally opened to reveal Nanaki. One claw still stuck to the handle, the crimson beast shuffled into the room awkwardly until he was finally able to pull himself free.
Aerith was the first to recover, chastising the kind-hearted beast “You damn near gave us a heart attack.”
A snort of humor was the only indication they had to show that he took no offense. Instead, Nanaki observed the three young women huddled together beneath a mountain of blankets and pillows. Yuffie had managed to partially hide behind Aerith, while Tifa pulled one of the pillows up as a shield. Turning to the television screen, Nanaki took note of the impossibly dark lighting creating stark contrast on a deranged crone’s face.
“Why do you humans insist on scaring yourselves?” He couldn’t help but ask, padding around to Yuffie’s side of the bed to nose her arm.
“I’m not scared! Who’s scared?” Yuffie declared boldly, dropping her hand from the blanket to ruffle Nanaki’s mane between his ears. The race in her pulse and the bitter scent of her fear was a dead giveaway.
“I’m not scared,” Aerith sounded off, sounding decidedly more believable.
Tifa was noticeably silent from behind her shield. Her carmine orbs remained unblinkingly focused on the screen as the youths discovered they were missing the most important part of the rules- the part that keeps them alive.
Turning to watch a door creak open in the darkness on the screen, Nanaki decided to surrender to his curiosity. Climbing onto the bed, he stretched himself across the foot of the bed, head pillowed on his paws by Yuffie’s feet. The glow of his tail cast eerie shadows over the walls, but his indifference made the darkness a little less scary.
Then the screaming started.
Tifa cried out in shock before she ducked under the covers, not wanting to watch as the poor girl was tortured. Let them think she was a coward: everyone has something silly they're afraid of!
Of course this was the sound that had Cloud barreling in, fresh from his shower. With his golden blond hair slicked back, the glow of his eyes were unobstructed as they swept over the room in search of danger. The bloodbath on screen hardly phased him, even as the crone cried out for someone to bleed, but he wasn't as perturbed by violence as Tifa was.
It took him all of two seconds before his eyes narrowed on Aerith, already knowing who was responsible for the choice in movies. Sucking his teeth, Cloud crossed the room to place his hand on Tifa’s back- at least he assumed it was given the blanket tugged overhead. His eyes softened when Tifa flinched. “Tifa,” he breathed in an attempt to pull her from beneath the covers. “It’s just a movie.”
She refused to be consoled. Instead, she reached for Cloud’s other hand in an attempt to pull him under the blankets where it was safe with her.
Another glance at the copious amount of blood projected on the screen had Cloud sighing. Aerith was something else, Cloud couldn’t help but grumble to himself upon noting her cheeky grin. She wasn’t sorry at all, and seemed to take great delight in this moment. Sadist. "Mind moving over?" He asked finally, pulling his hand from Tifa’s back to massage the bridge of his nose.
With some maneuvering and further invasion of personal space, Cloud managed to slip himself under the blankets to press himself against Tifa's other side. Warmth crept up his neck as he did so, only now realizing that Tifa was dressed in a flimsy robe and nothing else. This fact had escaped Tifa’s mind as she twisted in place to mold herself against Cloud’s side- yanking the topmost blanket along with her.
“Quit hogging all the covers, boobs!” Yuffie whined, trying to yank a bit of shield back so she could go back to not-hiding.
“Get your own, brat!” Tifa threw back at her in a botched attempt at firm. The tremble in her voice refused to leave.
“There’s another blanket in the closet,” Aerith offered, finding the entire scenario hysterical.
“No!” Yuffie instead dared to reach her leg across the space between their beds, clinging to Aerith as she did so to grab the flat sheet with her toes. Once she had it, she yanked it yard until it pulled free from the mattress.
Cloud just watched their antics as they started to settle again, accepting the offered bowl of popcorn before allowing himself to get pulled into the movie. Or rather, allowing himself to marvel at how well Tifa fit against him, tucked under his arm with her cheek pressed firmly against heart.
“What are you all up to?"
This time both Tifa AND Yuffie cried out when Vincent opened the door, crimson eyes glowing in the darkness.
“Horror movie night, wanna join?” Aerith grinned.
Vincent glanced between the murder taking place on the screen, and the mass of bodies on the first bed before shrugging. Closing the door behind himself, Vincent took the bowl of popcorn from Cloud’s outstretched hand before claiming the empty bed for his perch. He and Hellmasker loved horror movies.
Barret and Cid are out drinking, so they've been spared the horror movie marathon that continues long after "the Midnight Man."
Aerith has no problem falling right to sleep after.
Vincent scares the crap out of everyone when the occasional laugh bubbles past his lips (Hellmasker loves horror movies, and thinks they're funny).
The others decide that all future horror movies will be watched during daylight hours.
This is all obviously headcannon territory, but it's fun to fill in the gaps between adventure. They've spent a couple months together, they're going to develop their relationships beyond battle.
