#journey to atlantis

Unfortunately, this ride was closed in February when we visited. It was the ride my fiance was most excited for. Here's to hoping it's open in November 🤞

I finally got to ride Journey to Atlantis. It was... different than I imagined. There were holes in sets where stuff had been literally cut out and not replaced. Giant tarps all over everything in the last show scene. One wooden beam looked to be literally rotting. Before every drop is a warning sign and a recorded male voice telling you you're about to drop. I really hope it gets the refurb it deserves but if not, there is no other ride like it in the world and (hopefully) there won't be again.

Hey weird question but what happens if you put two reasonably likeable anthropologists of wildly different cultures together in the same room? Do they study each other? CAN they? Is it like an infinite conversational feedback loop? I'm imagining two dogs eternally sniffing each others butts at the park

Grief is so fucking dumb actually. Like you're just fine living your life for a while and suddenly without knowing how it started you find yourself stuck in your mind pretending you can still talk to them, and the next thing you know you're sitting on the bathroom's floor unable to think about anything else but how much you miss them.

We were ROBBED of seeing the Thea Sisters as fairies (go off misleading special edition covers T_T I was gaslighted as a child) so it's making me wanna draw the girls as fairies? Winx-ify them, I guess

Yeah we were -m- in terms of "clickbaity" book covers, the Thea Stilton special editions are definitely the OGs in that regard

I still love them tho <3

One thing about it is that the covers do a good job at giving the vibes ✨of their respective books. At least uh, books 1-4, 6, and 7's covers, anyway. I'm personally not a fan of book 5, 8 and 9's covers -m- (for those keeping score, books 5, 8, and 9 are Treasure of the Sea, Dance of the Star Fairies, and Magic of the Mirror. Crystal Fairies' cover is regrettably one of the better newer covers). ANYWAY, if the books's covers did a good job at one thing, it was conveying the fantastical whimsy of the books. They definitely got me hooked on them despite their aesthetic being the opposite of what I usually gravitate towards haha, Secret of the Snow's cover is still one of my favorite covers to this day
