It’s always a funny feeling when you’re just vibing and a joint pops so loud that it echoes
Or when you stand up and crack your back only to realize that you’ve partially dislocated your hip and cracking your back put it back into place
That second one may sound extremely specific but I’ll be honest this is a regular occurrence for me to the point where if my hip feels weird I’ll stand up and move as if to crack my back to make sure my hip is in place

the awesome thing is you can have a hypermobility disorder and your body will slowly deteriorate as it tries to keep your skeleton together for 26 years causing you infinite tiny issues that aren't that serious on their own but together it all sucks really bad and makes life pretty difficult BUT you can have this and not have it so bad that you ever actually dislocate anything or get any major injuries to your knowledge so doctors don't give a fuck and you're stuck constantly doubting yourself and comparing yourself to others who Really have a disorder that causes them Real problems and-
#like yes my joints sublux but they never get stuck that way and never cause like sprains or swelling#my least mobile joints are my most painful bc of idk muscle issues?? no one actually knows#i'm so like#i KNOW i have hsd. my beighton score is at least 7/9 if not 9/9 (knees up for debate) and i have pain and fatigue from it and POTS#every doctor who's seen my party tricks has been like Yikes!#but i only have the slightest visible tissue damage on scans that all doctors say is nothing so like. is it REALLY causing problems?? lmfao#i doubt myself SO bad and then i spiral about 'well i should just do pt and fix it' as if it's that easy. obviously#ANYWAY..#p

Too sick to do pretty much anything but also bored as hell. Been spinning the southdown flax blend on my espinner cause why not, nobody has ordered any and I can make more if they did.
It's a very interesting spin. I spun a sample before I put it up for sale to make sure it wasn't awful, which it's not; but it is difficult. Not sure I would have been able to spin it before I learnt how to spin flax. You gotta keep an eye on both components as you work, making sure you're not leaving the southdown behind or letting the flax bunch up. It's easy once you are used to it, but still different.
The espinner I got working a little better by seating the drive band correctly. Still not a fan of the fact that I'm not directly in control of the speed... on a wheel or spindle I often want to slow down or stop but it's a pain on the espinner and it leads to uneven yarn. These things are weird.
Anyway. Dont know what I'll do with it but it's nice to spin again. Have been having trouble using my supported spindles bc of my shoulders. I know there's a way to lay down where you can spin supported without shoulder pain; the issue is I can't lay in one position for very long bc then everything else hurts. And of course supported is what i switched to after wheel spinning was too painful, which i got into because drop spindling was too painful. Can you tell how upset I am that spinning is being slowly taken from me. Haha. Anyway. Glad for the espinner in this regard.
#just had my first appointment w an EDS phys therapist and everything hurts#also dont know if i have it as we couldnt get thru everything in one session#clearly am hypermobile but not in the usual joints and not in the usual way#like...my sister would probably get the highest score on the beighton test (spelling ??) but also has no problems#meanwhile i would get a very low score but cant shift in bed without every joint subluxating#aaaanyway. ow.#am watching minecraft videos and spinning and very very hungry but :) cant make myself food as i can barely move#imagine having a carer#or like any support at all. in any way. imagine that#:/#spinning#flax#southdown#espinner#disability

forgot i very wisely put my braces on because i'm busing all over town today doing pre-storm errands & i had a moment of being like "wow, weird, the bus drivers are being EXTRA nice to me..... with all the other passengers they seem to be in a hurry but for me they keep waiting to move til i fully take my seat... am i limping really badly today or something??"
and then i looked down at my bondage geared legs and was like oh. right.
girl. you are crippled.
#THANK U FOR WAITING FOR THE CRIPPLE TO SIT DOWN BUS DRIVERS I LOVE UUUU#it's been a while since i straight-up forgot i look disabled. what a weird privilege that is#autoimmune tag#ehlers danlos life#i guess. it's a little of both. subluxed joints have worse outcomes when i'm mid-flare like this.

keep waking up with very very sore wrists and hands and fingers.
i must get in strange positions as i sleep (due to hypotonia and hypermobility combination). and then wake up very sore. the left is always worse, of course.
many joints of mine are loose and "wiggly". especially small joints like fingers and wrists.
i feel the bones have too much space between each other. if i pull on a finger or intertwine my fingers and pull on my whole hand, i can pull the bones apart easily with barely any force. i can twist/pull/bend my fingers in ways that they shouldn't, because the bones are so far apart that it allows me to essentially deliberately sublux it (i think??).
and i feel the bones move around as i move my hands. if i grip something too hard, several fingers will simply stop being in the right place. my wrists and fingers make many crunching clicking popping noises.
my hands are the body part i use most and rely on most. for everything, including majority of my communication. i am nonverbal - i need my hands. signing, typing, writing, gesturing, AAC device. and other general things like using phone and laptop. and stimming.
so wrist pain is a real fucking annoyance.
and just having to pull on my hand or fingers to "realign" all the tiny wee bones correctly, or grab my wrist and squeeze a certain way to make it "click in"... that is not fun. i have to do it more and more often, many times a day now.
:/
