Tgamm S1 Ep 13-B ¨Twin Trouble¨ Episode Analysis
The Uncles twins from Pete’s side of the family come to visit. They have been mocking and pushing Pete around since he was a kid. If that alone wasn’t enough, some strange ghost creatures show up in the Mcgees house...
¨Twin Trouble¨ is a bit hard episode to talk about since it can be a mixed bag for some people. It has some good things and not so good things. Despite it’s issues, i personally enjoy most of it.
One thing i appreciate about it is that it gives a lot of insight to Pete’s character. The reason he tends to be nervous and insecure is because he always being put down and teased by his twin siblings growing up. They were previously hinted at Pete’s flashback in ¨Ice Princess¨ and in this episode it is shown how their relationship is like and the impact it had on Pete.
Sharon explains to the kids and Scratch that everytime the twins Billy and Jilly show up, Pete reverts to his insecure kid self. This is later shown in the story when Pete wears clothes much like the ones he used to when he was younger. His accent becomes more ¨Boston like¨ too. I think it represents how people change their behaviour when they return to a toxic situation or environment they were used to live in. Pete himself is an accomplished man with a job he that is his passion and has a lovely family. When he is surrounded by his twins, he starts acting like a kid and lets himself be pushed around without standing up for himself. I think that is a thing many people can related to, specially if they grew up with a relative like this.
While all this is happening, some small ghost creatures start showing up near Pete. Scratch explains to Molly that they are called ¨Sobgoblins¨ and they amplify sadness. They feed off from misery and are capable of multiplying very quickly. I think this is the first time the series introduces to ghosts that aren’t humans or animals they used to be alive. These are creatures that probably have their origins in the Ghost World. As always, it’s nice to see the show playing around with its supernatural elements, thus making the story more engaging.
It’s fun to see Scratch and Molly working together to get rid of the sobgoblins. There is an entire sequence of them hitting the creatures and Molly ¨enhappifying¨ them. Their dynamic is one of the hightlights from this episode. There are also some good jokes, such as Molly looking at a kitty poster to make herself feel sad to attract the ghosts. The short song sequence that plays while they are chasing the sobgoblins is rather catchy. It has some irish music vibes in it since it’s about how Pete’s side of the family and how ge gets put down by his siblings.
Based on their role in the story, the sobgoblins represent how pretending that things are fine when they are really not only makes a person more miserable. The more time Pete lets himself being mocked by his siblings without speaking up, the more sobgoblins appear. This misery extends to Sharon and even Molly as well, who are affected by the situation. It is when Pete finally stands up for himself and calls out Billy and Jilly’s behaviour that the sobgoblins dissapear. It’s a satisfying moment to watch after he was pushed around all the episode by the twins and it’s a good follow up of his development in ¨Ice Princess¨. Another thing i like is that Pete stands up for himself after he sees Darryl imitating the twins and bothering Molly. He crosses the line when he notices that his siblings are being a negative influence on his own kids and he doesn’t want that dynamic to repeat in them.
With all the positive aspects like the sobgoblins, the message and Pete’s growth, it falls flat when it comes to the ending. It’s weird because on one hand Billy and Jilly acknowledge they haven’t been respecting Pete, but, on the other hand, they end up making the problem about themselves and how they are jealous of Pete. That makes the writing feel like it’s brushing off them making a proper apology. After all they were the ones who were tormenting Pete. Changing some lines to make the twins apologize properly would have made a better ending and a better conclusion.
In conclusion: ¨Twin Trouble¨ is a decent episode with some great character growth for Pete and an interesting metaphor using ghosts creatures. It’s an episode that appreciate what is trying to do and it would have been more memorable had the ending been better. While not of my favourites, it’s worth of watching for the character development and the sobgoblins introduction.

Emmie Becomes a Wraith
Based on “100% Molly McGee” I decided to make Molly and Darryl’s cousin Emmie Suksai McGee’s weekend visit special, as a pink wraith ghost. With special guest Libby.
Libby: so your uhhhh… Emmie McGee? U look like your Molly’s lil sister so does the face. Emmie: nice to meet ya Libby, I know Molly like u since u guys met here. And your a book lover too? Libby: yup and turtles too. I got a few to hold. Emmie: they’re so cute!!! Darryl: Hey Emmie since u and our uncle discovered our ghostly secret. Maybe me and Molly spend a weekend even better both here and in the Ghost World. Emmie: wait, I can be a ghost? Molly: well not quite dead yet but there’s a loophole called a “wraith”. Your ghostly form keeps your emotions and energy but your body is nearly boring and dull. Emmie: how we gonna know we’re going to the Ghost World. Darryl: pretend that we’re in the attic napping. Emmie: okay! (attic door open) Hey dad, uncle, and aunt; we’re just taking a nap for several hours before dinner. Alright he’s cool with. Scratch: alright kids get ready to cross zap twice jump. Get ready to rip your souls!!!
And that the bodies of the McGee kids and Libby zapped and became quite soulless and boring. But their emotionally main souls are in their ghostly wraith form in yellow, lime green, pink, and mint green. Emmie: oh my corn, eeeeeeeeee!!! I’m really a pink flying cutie RAAAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Libby: sweet corn she did it! Scratch: wow nice pink and some red lava color tones. But the scare-off with be after dinner in my Ghost Council as the Chairman of the afterlife. Molly: it’s a kinda long story tho but technically we’re not dead yet. Libby: alright we leave them the bed, bean bag chairs, and plushies without knowing we’re dead. Darryl: hold on tight ladies and Scratch because there’s no sunlight in the Ghost World but we can be a scary freakshow ghouls in an instant. When they enter the Ghost World, Emmie: oh my corn! Look at that place Wow!!! Weeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Emmie says hi and shakes hands to many ghosts as they can until they approach Geoff. Geoff: hey hey Scratch, McGees and Libby!!! Your the girl cousin McGee right? I’m Geoff that G-E-O-F-F not to be confused with my long time partner Jeff that’s J-E-F-F. Emmie: does he do that every time we meet them. Molly: it’s confusing but yes. Darryl: there’s Jeff with a J as described by Geoff with a G, Reggie an assistant to Scratch, Sally Tugbottom the real hero and founder of Brighton despite she has a little evil bro named Ezekiel Tugbottom, Blair: who works at the video store and a horror movie fan, The Barrister Ghosts aka Scratch’s board members consisting of Bartholomew, Sir Alister, Lucretia, and Grimbella; Howlin’ Harriet a singing salami selling woman that once have no toes, and Sonia Davis a former pro-skater and the other ghost with legs. Blair: oh hi welcome to the Ghost World, I know Molly so well u want some stale popcorn? Emmie: no thanks, that’s sour. Bartholomew: hope this visit is more special my dear McGee. Emmie: That’s Suksai McGee sir Bart. Darryl: my dad and his Irish older sibs aka Billy and Jilly are the McGee side of my family while my mom, his brother, and my mother’s mom aka Grandma Nin represents the Suksai part of the family. Sir Alister: so technically its Suksai McGee u say. Reminded me of Molly’s best friend Libby. Sonia: awwwww!!! Your family is getting bigger by the minute. Reggie: your really look like Molly, u almost like sisters! Emmie: u look like Scratch’s lil bro!!! Scratch: hey Geoff, I got fiery snacks that Emmie and his dad bought. Extra hot seaweed chips!!! Hey Jeff, Sally, Reggie, and many others. U need to try this chips, I tried but I survived the burnout. Good luck with your purple tongues!!! Geoff: even we’re not alive but really, how I’m gonna be afraid of a bag of sea chips made out from underwater? “CHOMP!” Oh my ghost, it’s hotter than lava in a volcano!!! Jeff: cough cough!!! What kind of organic chips is this? That’s from the ocean??? Sally: yeow! It’s a burning sea plant without burning the chips y’all!!! Reggie: my glasses are burning wildfire!!! Blair: wow, I need a soda here or water or milk!!! Darryl: should we get milk now ? Molly: oh boy there goes the supply of cows! Hold on guys!!!
Later they McGees learn to cook Thai food on top of the Ghost Council mountain, then dinner is finally served. Sir Alister: alright everyone a feast is about to begin! Oh wait I got some ice from Sonia. Molly: we got Thai food but we put some flags on it whether it’s spicy or not. I’ll get the non-spicy ones. Jeff: wait Molly, u got fire powers without eating spicy foods. Molly: it’s powers not food Jeff. Scratch: u want cola, root beer, lemon-lime, citrus, orange, strawberry, cream soda, ginger ale, cherry, grapefruit, and grape. Darryl: got milk too? Scratch: oh yeah!!! No one ever misses a drink. Geoff: wait there’s grape and grapefruit? Molly: they’re different fruits Geoff. Sally: great golly wild west! That’s a spicy shrimpy with bbq y’all! Reggie: so does the noodles and veggies. Oh my that’s a spicy beef! Wow that’s hot!!! RAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!! Blair: I got it on tape Reggie!!! Jeff: wow a dragon blaster! Nice! Geoff: this is much better than Molly’s house. Molly: I learned it from Grandma Nin. Darryl: hey guys, I heard that story sprite says what’s for dessert? Emmie: Mango ice cream!!! Grimbella: wow! It’s fascinating style of long strings sipping on a pink tongue. Sir Alister: pass me the baos and paos. Spicy beef please. Scratch: alright everyone a toast to a new regime, say easy peasy McGeesies!!! Geoff; got any more milk. My purple tongue still sparks. Darryl: chocolate anyone? We got strawberry too! Geoff: oh boy, so much for the flamin hot seaweed chips! Ugh still burning here in my mouth. Emmie: I think I gonna like this place! Muahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! Sally: whoa whoa!!! Easy there Emmie my dear!!! Darryl: we been there before but hey, don’t fool the cuteness unless if a bad guy approaches. Blair: I’m new to the ghost world months ago but hey scary is scary!!! And I got it on tape!!! Lucretia: oh my now that’s a horror movie u say my Blair dear.
After the dinner a scare off is on the top of the rock of the Ghost Council mountain.
Scratch: after a weird and burning dinner party. I want to have another human friend make a great scare. Meet Emmie McGee!!! Dead or alive may the best fight win!!! Molly: sure lemme try first, ahem hissssssssssssss!!!!!! raaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!! Darryl: really watch this ladies and gentelmen, guuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! and also braaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!! Libby: lemme think about my scare I taught oh wait here it is now yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Emmie: beginners luck but can u try this? RAAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Jeff: dang girl. She needs a family partner to keep in touch even if their far away between Brighton and New York. Reggie: can I take her to New York? Scratch: sold!!! Reggie gets a human friend for Emmie and his dad!!! Emmie: finally I got a ghost friend!!! This is the best family visit ever both in Brighton and the Ghost World!!! Geoff: she grew up so fast so does Reggie!!! Molly: now we never gonna be apart with just a portal away even we’re just ghostly wraiths since we can’t let human bodies in! Darryl: if u even need us, Just need Reggie will ya so does a video call. Emmie: I love u all the ghouls especially I overcome fear of ghosts. Scratch: oh btw, keep this three wanted posters in your room. One has a scythe another are bubbly but tearful runts who are evil opposites to the council plus a green blowhard show-off and yeah I’m talking about Tug the Tornado. Keep an eye on those 3 baddies besides since I’m the Chairman of this realm there’s some nasty revenge on me and the McGees. Emmie: sure sir I won’t let u down!!! Libby: so if we come home as humans I can tour my mom’s bookstore for some shopping and learning. Emmie: can I read your books? Libby: a ghost journal might recommend u and I have a copy for free. Emmie: oh thanks Libby, your a great friend to Molly!!! Libby: hey uh anymore hugs. Darryl: ugh Scratch!!! Your chairman’s robe is squeezing us hard!!! Molly: Okay now we go home as humans. See ya later my afterlife friends!!! Sally: I knew Molly is the best human we ever met! Geoff: me too. It’s a simple love and fun. Blair: hope u see us again! Byeeeeee!!!

It’s WIP Wednesday, and I’m reblogging this, not as much because I’m a Jilly fan (Tumblr seems to think so for some reason, curious because there aren’t supposed to be algorithms…) as to do so because it’s the first WIP Wednesday post I saw today. Go Jilly!
Also, because Without Jilly, No Hinny. And I am a Hinny fan. Also too, the banner mentioned above. I have no banners. Probably could make one, never thought about it. No banner! I had a (sorta) sad.
I do have a WIP. So I can do a bit (a lot of tease) self promotion. Like OP I’ve entertained this idea for, if not decades, a good long time. My first inclination simply came as hey, could be fun writing a crossover between fandoms. Started making notes.
And more notes. And a different fic, crossover because three of the featured characters come from other fandoms. A whole lot of Guest Appearances in fandom fics, all more or less in their character roles from their fictional universes. And more notes. Finally started writing almost two years ago. Discovered other questions while writing.
Like, what happens when Character A, living in a world where they believe magic only exists in fantasy stories, discovers that Magic Is Real? And that Magic is rather paranoid, concealing it’s existence in self-preservation efforts.
Mystic Dream brings Harry & Ginny Potter to Washington DC on a busman’s holiday. Harry is attending an international law enforcement conference (with a secret Magic track behind the scenes). Ginny is interviewing assorted American magical athletes for a book she’s writing.
Trouble finds them both. Again. And we discover that the Potters know one Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Special Agent in Charge of one of NCIS’s Major Crimes Response Teams.
Here’s a short snippet.
Act 1 Scene 2: NCIS Headquarters Monday 14 January 2019 07:52
Special Agent Ellie Bishop stepped out of the elevator into the Bullpen, pulling her jacket off. She draped it over the back of her desk chair and looked across the aisle to Tim McGee’s desk. His face shined with an inordinately satisfied grin.
‘What?’ she asked.
‘Finished Delilah’s costume yesterday evening.’ He stood and crossed to her desk, holding out his phone with a photograph of his twins sitting on their couch, in matching hooded onesies. Each hood had pointed ears and two antennae, and a second set of arms below the twins arms.
‘OMG, are those the twins costumes? They’re so cute!’ Bishop squealed, gaining Nick Torres’ attention. He joined them and looked over Bishop’s shoulder at the picture.
‘Why are they in teletubby suits?’ he asked.
‘They’re Martians, the mascots for Mars Con this weekend,’ replied McGee. ‘Delilah and I are taking them to their first Con.’
‘Is everyone getting all costumed up?’ asked Torres.
‘A lot of people do hall costumes,’ Bishop told him. ‘And there’s a big Grand Masquerade contest as well. Is that what Delilah’s costume is?’
McGee nodded. ‘It’s her hall costume as well.’ He slid the picture of the twins aside, replacing it with a video of a Dr. Who Dalek. Tapping the screen to play, the domed top of the Dalek lifted on a hinge to reveal Delilah sitting within wearing a headset with a boom mike. She glanced down inside, then the Dalek moved forward, turned slightly, and backed up. Looking back at the camera, her modified voice came from the speakers - Exterminate. Exterminate.
It's WIP Wednesday...
So I thought I'd go ahead and share the banner for the new multichapter WIP I'm gonna start posting on Friday. Because I am both very excited and very anxious about it. Especially as I don't have a summary written yet. Like I know where the story is going I mean I've had the idea for over a decade but I don't know how to write the summary for it to make it appealing to read. Anyway...
It's a jily 7th year fic, starting in the summer break prior. A mix of angst, grief, hurt/comfort and some humour thrown in for good measure (as it wouldn't be a charms fic without that).
Tagging @athenasparrow and @itsjamespotter as I've given both a sneak preview of the fic already.

TGAMM cast Represented Through Mythological Creatures
Molly Mcgee as Kinnari (her Wraith self as Hongsa)
Kinnari are celestial musical beings with the head, torso, and arms of a woman and the wings, tail, and feet of a swan. They reside in the Himalayas and watch over people who are in danger. Completely friendly in nature, they are well-known for their musical talents, and are the symbol of feminine beauty, grace, and achievement.
Hongsa are celestial swans with flowing tails, beautiful crests, and long bills and beautiful singing voices. Little is known of their origins, but they frequently appear in architecture and serve as the mount for lord Brahma. It is said that Lord Buddha himself was once born as a hongsa.
Scratch as an Imp (The same applies to Geoff)
Contrary to what many would believe, imps are more mischievous and troublesome than outright evil. In earlier depictions, imps are actually lonely creatures who utilize pranks to win over human friendship, though this often backfires.
Libby as Chalkydri
Chalkydri are sub-species of archangels with the colors of the rainbow head of a crocodile, the tail and paws or a lion, with twelve wings. They are described in the Second Book of Enoch to dwell the sun alongside their counterpart the Phoenix, and break out into song at sunrise while the birds rejoice a new day.
Or possibly Estries (art by Samantha Mash)
(This mostly stems from Libby’s love for the macabre and also cause who doesn’t love vampires.)
Estries are female vampires from Jewish Folklore and are stated to be beautiful yet deadly. They are said to come out at night to feed on blood to survive and are capable of shape-shifting into various animal forms at will. Estries can also fly utilizing their hair, provided it remains unbound. If an Estry is wounded, it must either drink to blood or eat the bread and salt to the individual who harmed them to survive.
Pete Mcgee as Gnome
Pete gives off this kind of gnome vibe to me.
Gnomes are depicted as friendly, virtuous earth dwelling spirits that guard mines, treasures, and other precious resources. They are described as ingenious friends of man, and never ask for any reward for their kindness. Gnomes also hold the title of the earth elemental as they are described as being able to “move through the earth as man moves through the air”.
Sharon Mcgee as Naga Serpent
Naga are serpentine creatures that originate from India in Hinduism as well as Buddhism, and thus have spread across Asia. They’re many variations of the myths depending on who you ask, but the “classical” Naga are depicted as being able to shift between a human form, a serpent’s form, or something in-between. They are often depicted as having multiple heads and are described as powerful and dangerous, however they are just as capable of good and evil as any person.
Darryl Mcgee as Kappa
I struggled to find a creature from Thai mythology that matched Darryl's delinquent and crafty personality, but the Kappa from Shinto mythology fit the role nicely.
Grandma Nin as Byangomi
Byangomi are legendary (typically human faced) birds from Thai fairy tales that are said to be wise seers that bring guidance to those deserving of it.
Andrea Davenport as Mermaid
Mermaids are a staple in modern day media, they’re as synonymous with fairy tales and folklore as dragons and unicorns. Given Andrea’s self-centered and vain nature combined with the her wealth and popularity make this a perfect match.
Jilly and Billy Mcgee as Trolls
Trolls are typically large burly creatures that live in small but tight family units in caves or mountains far away from humans. Their appearance varies considerably depending on who you ask, ranging from being short goblin like creatures, big hairy brutes, to being completely indistinguishable to humans.
Howling Harriet as Banshee
Lost spirit out in the woods? Check. Feared by all who enter her domain? Check. Lets out an absolutely spine-chilling wail? Check.
Jinx as Tsuchigumo
Tsuchigumo are fearsome spider yokai that similarly to the more well-known Jorogumo, use illusions and trickery to ensnare unwary people. However, unlike their more seductive counterparts, they utilize more diverse means of deception, and are far more ambitious.
The Chairman as Tatarigami
Tatarigami are vengeful malevolent yokai born from either fallen gods or especially powerful people who died in anguish that bring about death, calamity, famine, and destruction in retribution. Examples of Tatarigami in myth are Emperor Gozu, the Bull-headed God, and Yamata no Orochi (yes, the Orochi).

Fun fact! Billy McGee actually cameo’d before his official introduction in Twin Trouble, during Pete’s flashback in Ice Princess!
And we know it’s Billy because of the end credits of Ice Princess, as well as their identical voice and the fact that none of the other siblings shown in Twin Trouble matches as closely; And I doubt there’s a secret brother the twins neglected to mention, or he would’ve been brought up as another -illy, or as an outlier like Pete.
Here in Twin Trouble we see Billy as a kid, then Billy as a young adult in Ice Princess, before he makes his fully-grown debut!
(I wonder where Jilly was during the Ice Princess flashback?)

Parallels between Scratch and Pete in the episode ¨Dance Dad Revolution¨
Dance Dad Revolution is an episode that involves Pete and Scratch becoming influencers (with Scratch being less literal) by using dance as a way to get people's attention. While the motives to start dancing as a way to influence people differ, the episode puts the two plots in parallels with each other, highlighting character traits the two characters have in common and how they react when they get a taste of being popular and having power over others.
In this post i'm going to discuss the characteristics Scratch and Pete share in common and how they develop through the episode. Let's start:
On first point both characters share similar backgrounds of being over and pushed around by other people. Both were mocked constanly and made fun by people in their social environment.
For Pete, he grew with his older twin siblings,Billy and Jilly, who would usually mock him, tease him, put him down and humiliate him. This made Pete develop certain low stem and it implied that is part of where his constant anxiety and nervousness comes from.
In the flashback from Ice Princess, Billy was shown making fun of Pete when he fails in his ice skating routine and crashes. In the episode ¨Twin Trouble¨ explores Pete's relationship with his twin siblings when they come to visit the Mcgees. Pete spends a good part of the episode regressing to his young self instead of the more confident person he is in the present. He starts wearing clothes like he used to back when he lived with his siblings and using his Boston accent.
When he sees Darryl imitating the twin siblings, Pete snaps and finally stands up for himself. He calls out his siblings behaviour, telling them that he is an adult now and will not put up with their behaviour any longer. The episode ends with the twins admitting that that the way they treated Pete was wrong and implying that will respect him from now on.
As for Scratch, his case is more serious since he was constanly controlled and abused by the Ghost Council, who were his bosses in season 1. They would usually make fun of Scratch or threatening him with sending him to the Flow of Failed Phantoms. Many ghosts would treat Scratch poorly due to his low social status and not being a ¨popular ghost¨. Scratch would often be ignored, insulted and pushed around by ghosts who were in the elite class, seeing him as inferior. Scratch had to hide his friendship with Molly and the rest of the Mcgees as well, since ghosts being friends with humans was seen as ¨unnatural¨. If a ghost was found out to be friendly with a human, they would be sent to the Flow of Failed Phantoms.
Most of Scratch's arc in season 1 is about him opening up to others and making connections. He starts off as distant and closed off, only with time to warm up to the Mcgees. Around half of season 1 he starts to consider the Mcgees his family. Later Scratch befriends Libby and Geoff and he is seen hanging out with them in some episodes.
Over time Scratch opens up to Molly about how he is treated by the Ghost Council in the Ghost World, like how he can be sent to the Flow if he isn't considered scary enough. In ¨A Very Hungry Ghost¨ he tells Molly that the Ghost Council can't know that he is friends with Molly because that would mean be taken away from her forever.
It is in the season 1 finale ¨Molly vs The Ghost World¨ that Scratch stands up for himself and tells the Ghost Council that he doesn't care about what they think of him. He fully admits that Molly is her friend, expressing how she is right about being kind and helping others. After Molly destroys the Chairman using her joy powers, Scratch and Molly return safely to the human world, not having to worry about the Ghost Council bothering them anymore.
So both Scratch and Pete were used to being mocked and pushed around by others for years. For Pete is when he lived with his twin siblings and for Scratch when the Chairman was the ruler of the Ghost World (and some hints that this happened when he was human too).
In ¨Dance Dad Revolution¨ it involves both of them finding themselves in position that they are listened to and they are respected. And, because they aren't used to that, they let the fame go up in their heads.
For Pete's plot, which is the A plot, it starts with Pete trying to get the mayor's attention to explain why plastic bags are bad for the enviroment and they should be banned from Brighton. The mayor ignores Pete's presentation, being distracted with the clipclop app. (A clear parody of tiktok).
Then Pete decides to try to get people's attention by using social media. Molly explains to him that he can try making a short video with him dancing to get his message across. Pete tries Molly's suggestion, the video becomes viral quickly and soon the plastic bags get banned from Brighton.
For around the first half of the episode Pete continues to make dance videos to reach out to other people and bring up certain issue. This works for multiple things. The problem is that Pete begins to change his goal of making videos to spread awareness and instead it turns into how many likes he can get. The sequence song potrays pretty well how he starts losing focus from what was his first goal and he becomes this snobby influencer persona that only cares about his popularity.
Molly sees that her father needs an intervention to realize how he has let social media turn him into someone inconsiderate and self-centered. She asks Pete to sit in chair in the living room with the rest of the Mcgees and shows him a clic clok video they and other Brightonians made for him. In the video is about them dancing while they talked about how Pete has gone to far and they missed how he used to be. After finishing watching the video Pete realizes his mistake and asks Molly to take control of his social media account. He admits that he became addicted to his influencer persona, showing how it can transform people.
For the B plot of the episode, it is about Scratch doing his chairman duties. An important part of this season deals with him having to deal with the responsibilities that comes from being ruler of the Ghost World. Something that he wants to avoid in every possible way and is scared of doing to some extent.
Once he hears from Darryl that people would do ¨anything¨ if one dances, Scratch decides to come up with a dance to make other ghosts clean the club that is filled with ectoplasm. Many ghosts do Scratch's chairman chores, thinking it just a fun ¨dance¨ when in reality is Scratch taking advantage of his position to make others do his duties for him.
Eventually the ghosts get tired of doing Scratch dance and want something new. They see Geoff and Jeff doing a dance that spread ectoplasm all around the room. Scratch asks them to stop before he realizes that it is too late, the whole room is filled with ectoplasm splattered everywhere and Scratch realizes that he has to clean all the mess all over again.
Both plots drive a lesson about how people who aren't used to having power or influence can let that get the worst of them and turn them into different people. In Pete's case it is about someone who deviates themselves from their original goal to help their community to chase views. In Scratch's plot, is abusing that power and avoiding his responsibilities, something that comes to bite him back at the end.
This episode shows well these parallels between Scratch and Pete, the reason of why they act the way they do and how they have to face the consequences of that behaviour at the end.
