One of my favorite moments from "Jinx!" is the moment right before Scratch gives Jinx a taste of her own medicine. His protective side when it comes to Molly is just precious.

Sure, he's scared when Jinx catches onto their plan, but the moment Molly gets scared?

All bets are off.

I actually had a lot of fun with this drawing, tysm to mollycord for suggesting some ghosts for me :)

I finally did it. All the key TGAMM ghosts and wraiths in human form. This definately took awhile to do.

I didn't want to do all the ghosts. In one case, I stuck with Brighton specfic ghosts that we've seen in human form (though it was not easy getting/picking the right tones for Blair and Sonia.)

Something amusing that I did notice was that the wraith characters have brighter colors compared to the actual ghosts.

Tgamm Season 2: Fixing Jinx's villain arc

Of some of the main issues that fans have with Season 2 is how Jinx's arc was executed. She appears very briefly, only having two appearances before not showing up again until ¨Jinx vs The Human World¨.

The main complain is that there is a lack of build up in her character since, after the episode ¨Jinx!¨, she doesn't show up for the rest of the season. There isn't any indication of what her plans are going to be or how she is going to take over the Ghost World. On top of that, she doesn't represent a real threat before ¨Jinx vs The Human World¨. It could be said that it doesn't feel ¨earned¨ seeing her becoming the chairman in the double part episode.

So how could this be rewritten in a way that makes Jinx a better villain in this season?

Well, i do have some ideas.

First, i think she would need more episodes for her character. At least two for better build up for Jinx VS episode. As i mentioned, she only appears twice and then doesn't show up for half of the season, which feels really weird. I think she could have an episode in the second half and then one episode that builds up to Jinx VS. That way she could have a more complete arc and screen time.

Second, Jinx would need to become more threatening, which is a huge problem with her in this season. While ¨Jinx!¨ explores well her personality and her goals, it doesn't leave an idea that she could be a real threat for the protagonists. So to fix this issue, i think she could have an episode she learns how to power up the sobgoblins to that strong muscular form they gain in ¨Jinx VS The Human World¨ by eating joy.

It could be that Jinx finds out this by accident or by reading a book about sobgoblins. Maybe in the same episode she sends one or two sobgoblins as a test to attack Scratch but he somehow manages to defeat them. This could give context as for why she captures Molly and uses her as a joy battery in ¨Jinx VS¨ and make her a bigger threat as villain.

I think this idea could be the set up for the double part episode, with the episode being placed before it.

If i were to add another episode for Jinx's villain arc, i think it could be about her coming with a plan that is bigger and more serious than just jinxing Scratch like she did in ¨Jinx!¨. I think it could be a way for her to try to get the chairman robes, so she tricks both Molly and Scratch for that. This episode could show better her manipulative side and how far she would go to get what she wants.

I also would like her to be more serious in this episode and less ¨pathetic girl failure¨ than she is in ¨Jinx!¨. She can still be pitiful but maybe she realizes that she has to come up with more complex plans if she was to become the chairman. Her charactertization in ¨Jinx!¨ is funny but if she is an antagonist that should be taken more seriously then i think she has to learn to act more like it.

There are some fics that make her be more manipulative, extreme and serious that execute her role as villain better in that regard. I think she would need to have similar writing for her to work as main antagonist in Season 2.

This episode would take place between ¨Jinx!¨ and the episode she finds out about how to power up the sobgoblins using joy. I think it could be around episode 15 A-B or episode 16 A-B.

These are some ideas that i have that could fix Jinx's antagonist arc in Season 2. I'm sure there could be other ways to do it, this is just one way i think it could have worked better.

.... Welp, round 4 of 'Scratch but human redraws.'

Some of these I meant to redraw for awhile, but the original version of the upper left one was what prompted the fourth round. ANd then @jackie-gremlin-ghost sent me the original version of the upper middle one.

I was starting to run out of things I wanted to redraw when I remembered the chibiverse shorts, and was reminded of how I wanted to see the chibi version of human!Scratch/Todd, so I picked two moments.

(And yes, I HAD to do the phantom mask screenshot, given those Phantom!Scratch drawings I did).

alright, Jinx theory suckerss

this is probably a pretty basic theory, but I'm convinced Jinx will be the main antagonist in Season 2. And not just any antagonist, I believe she has it in her to be the VILLAIN. Hear me out:

Jinx may not have been the main antagonist in season 1, but we already know enough of her to understand her personality and motives

First of all, Jinx loves being a joy hunter. She's the opposite of Scratch in this: if she has a job, she's gonna do it. And she's gonna make sure to succeed. She even has her little army of sadfuckers sobgoblins following her orders. She loves her job. With Scratch as the new Chairman and going "yeah, y'all do whatever you want, I don't care" Jinx lost all her worth in the Ghost World. It doesn't matter how good she is at being a joy hunter, her role isn't needed anymore. I hardly doubt she enjoys this new government

Second, she is VERY determined to carry out her plans. And by that I mean she has no problems hurting others. She was willing to kill Molly (A CHILD) without hesitation, and right after Scratch revealed his friendship with a human Jinx immediately took him away to send him to the Flow of Failed Phantoms. She even sent Geoff in there because he was helping Molly. Yeah, she's not messing around.

Third, she HATES Molly and Scratch. Sure, this wasn't said out loud, but c'mon. Who wouldn't hate the people who basically got you fired? The people who got rid of a ruler you actually enjoyed following?

Fourth, we gotta look at a bigger picture for this one. So...

According to Bill Motz (one of the show's two creators), ghosts can become corrupted because of many reasons, one of them being focusing too much on themselves and their desires (↓his explanation↓)

Jinx suddenly finds herself in a completely different society with different rules that don't make her role relevant anymore. SHE is not relevant anymore. All the power she had is useless now. All her skills, all her gadgets. They are useless. SHE is useless. And I think this will get to her... What I'm trying to say is, I believe Jinx will become corrupted. We may see her normal self again first, but eventually she will be corrupted.

And... remember how corrupted ghosts change their look? Yeah... there's a certain ghost that caught my attention from the Season 2 trailer...

Let's assume that this is Jinx's corrupted form. Looks a lot like the Chairman, doesn't she?

Based on the look, I believe Jinx will not only come back as an enemy, BUT she will also become the new Chairman. Or at least she'll try to become that. A Chairman that wants to spread misery out of pure enjoyment, a corrupted ghost desperately trying to destroy joy.

Yeah. I believe Jinx will be the villain of this show.
