Siraj here very beautifully explains how, when one falls in love, i.e., "takes lessons of love" (dars nushka-e-ishq ka) leaves all rationality behind, the passion behind love is something which blinds them, the fire burning within them is so bright that they cannot see or know what is wrong and what is right.

He says he didn't know when it happened and didn't know what was happening. It was a weird time when it happened (woh ajab ghadi thi main jis ghadi...), he was so blinded by love that all the rationality was neutralized by the beauty of love.

the moment one falls in love, the intellect, or the reasoning (kitab aql ki) starts staying in a old dusty corner of the mind (taaq par), slowly collecting dust (jyun dhari thi tyun hi dhari rahi).

The eighth sense doesn't feel like a normal korean bl. It's like a slow down from the often hectic korean bl who are condensed into 15 minutes per episode. We get enough time to explore the characters, their past and curent lifes. The show is also not as polished and clean like other korean bl series. I really like it so far.

There are some nice subtle details like how Ji Hyun turns away from his boss out of respect while drinking or the rainbow on the bedside table of Ji Hyun.

Ji Hyun is an introvert but he doesn't feel lonely. He just doesn't need that much people around him, his school friend from his hometown and his boss are enough. And now Jae Won has gotten on his radar. I like how Ji Hyun is clearly queer coded and is actively pursuing Jae Won.

We didn't get to see as much of Jae Won's past and present life but he feels more lonely than Ji Hyun altought he has more friends and is popular in school. He is intrigued by Ji Jyun and seeks him out and they both are sort of doing a dance around each other and testing the waters. I'm exited to see how their story unfolds.

Translation: - Speech no. 767-789: - Tying the hands and feet ofGod Kabir, he was put inside a ground where severe punishmentwas given to heinous criminals. That ground was similar to a present-time stadium. The King and the office-bearers used to sit on a stage.

The spectators used to surround the arena. An elephant was trainedto kill people. It was made to develop a liking for alcohol and blood.

It was called a blood-thirsty elephant. King Sikander and other ministers were sitting. The people were standing all around it. Whenthe elephant rider (a mahout who overcomes an elephant and ridesit) brought the blood-thirsty elephant towards Kabir Ji to kill him,

Supreme God Kabir showed an image of a lion which was only visible to the elephant. The elephant was drunk. On seeing the lion, itfearfully ran back. The elephant rider hit the elephant with spears,

but the elephant did not go towards Kabir Ji. God Kabir showed alion standing there to the elephant rider too. The elephant rider alsofell off the elephant out of fear. The elephant ran away. God Kabir'sbondage broke and He stood up. He stretched his arms on standingup, and yawned. He grew massively tall. His head was touching thesky. Light of infinite suns was emitting from His body. This was onlyvisible to King Sikander. The King fearfully stood up, came down to

the ground, and said, "Forgive me. I have committed a grave mistake. I have had a sight of God." The King said to the public, "Thisis Allahu Akbar. He has come to Earth in Kabir Form. Get yourself

salvaged by touching His feet." But the unfortunate Qajis, Mullahsand Pandits said, "Kabir has scared the elephant away by casting a

spell on it. We are going." On saying this, all those sinful souls wentaway. God reduced His body to normal size and disappeared the

lion. He went to His hut.

Translator's rambles: An oldie but a goodie! Watching “ancient” HK TV series recently has brought this classic to the forefront of my memories again.

I actually love this cover more than the original Japanese, and as someone who first learned of this song watching 《殭屍道長》 (1995) as a kid, I cannot not hear this song now without thinking of 殭屍 (Chinese hopping vampires)! Heh!

Suspicious Partner thoughts

I love Bong Hee. I love her hair. I love her guts. I love her sass. Bong Hee needed friends- her initial murder charge left her an outcast and when she finally did get support, she was surrounded by men. My greatest joy was watching how the drama avoided turning her, Prosectutor Cha, and Prosecutor Na into romantic rivals. I was at the end more excited about the tiny glimpses we were given of that friendship than I was the rather predictable culmination of the Bong Hee/ Ji Wook relationship. But I loved her arc, from an intern to a newbie lawyer to confidently rebutting Ji Wook’s casual “You look like a lawyer” with “I am a lawyer”.

Not that I didn’t love the Bong Hee / Ji Wook relationship, in all its stages. Because I loved it. I have written previously about how refreshing Ji Wook is as a romantic archetype- but it bears repeating. A romantic hero who puts the heroine’s wishes above his own desires-who asks for her opinion, listens to it, and respects what she has to say. Who assumes that no decision is made until they both agree to it.

I’m not sure if it is a reflection of the KPOP fan-behavior, where allegiance is always given to a bias/man, and maybe that view has bled into drama fans, but the tendency is usually to heap abuse upon a female character who isn’t doing what the male character wants of her. [See 90% of all things written about Scarlet Heart Ryeo or Heirs]. This automatic prioritization of male feelings and emotions can be seen in how a lot of dramas are written as well- with writers generally making a male character who pouts, complains, or berates a woman for not responding to him romantically seem like he’s the victim.

Ji Wook never does this. While this should be the norm, the low bar of acceptable romantic lead behavior, it’s definitely not, so seeing how the show handled both Bong Hee’s rejection of Ji Wook and their breakup felt nothing less than revolutionary. And you know what? It made for better writing. It is much more in character for a man as disciplined and educated as Ji Wook to be able to rationally and respectfully treat a woman he works with like a valued colleague, even if she decided not to date him. So often dramas ask us to accept that of course all men who are wealthy or very smart or very successful are therefore emotionally stunted adolescents who are allowed to get away with truly heinous ridiculous behavior.  Until tamed by the love of a good woman, of course.

One thing I’m not sure the drama adequately addressed about Ji Wook is how ill-suited he is to be a prosecutor. Bong Hee as a lawyer makes sense. But Ji Wook’s argument that he hates criminals, therefore he is an incredibly zealous prosecutor, sounds like exactly the kind of person who should not be given that power under any circumstances. If you hate people who are accused of crimes so much, yours are not the hands justice should rest in.

And maybe it’s my lack of understanding of the Korean judicial system, but the ongoing comments about how Bong Hee must prove her innocence, rather than the other way around, felt infuriating. Bong Hee should not have to prove her innocence. She should be innocent until proven guilty.

The weakness of Suspicious Partner, was not with its characters, but rather an inelegant attempt to fit too many plot tropes into the show. Did we need the “your father killed my father” wrinkle? No. And frankly I think the final amnesia twist was totally unnecessary. Another another fridged woman? Another plot element where a woman is raped to drive the character development of a man? She never even got to have any lines! Sigh, really? At least that was a blessedly small part of the plot, but it didn’t need to be there at all and marred  what had otherwise been such a refreshing drama experience.

It’s a shame that there was such an ill-fitting summary for the show initially in the descriptions on DramaFever and Viki. When I read “killer with amnesia” I thought that maybe we’d have some sort of Memento-like villainy to deal with. While I did find the villain to be both frightening and watchable, he was no Leonard. Neither instance of amnesia in the show should have been in the summary as it is a non-issue for the first 35 or so episodes. Jyun Soo was a terrifying villain - that was sold from the get go, we didn’t need a twist to pull in the interest.

Can Ji Chang Wook be in romantic comedies full time now? He’s wasted kicking people in the face.  Come back from the Army and do more of these please.

i’m currently watching school 2017 (!!!!!!!!!!!! kim tae woon i loveth you) and also watching an oldie drama called the woman who still wants to marry. it’s based around female friendship and i’m at ep 11 and still going!

i am also a whore for long hidden glances and petty silly jealousy or crushing babbling nonsense (not like scary jealousy tho) and honestly who doesn’t love a good hearts racing, cheeks blushing cliche moment?

now what cruel person… i want to say cheese in the trap just because i love baek in ho so much and it was such a thrill at the start… but i’ll have to go with weightlifting fairy… there’s more pro’s in this drama… like the fact i actually finished it when it was airing… 

16: jealousy incarnate or oh my ghostess?

definitely jealousy incarnate, lee jong suk is really brilliant as lee hwa shin and even though i have to admit that i didn’t watch the side stories, and mostly only the stories of lee hwa shin and pyo nari… it’s still better than oh my ghostess in my opinion. the latter show made me uncomfortable- mostly due to the fact the main lead was falling in love with a mix of two people. it just made me a bit itchy :(( and sad :(( because then the romance is a bit of a mess

17: descendants of the sun or w: two world?

hmm.. i actually did start descendants but dihfiadhf for the life of me could not get past the first two episode, maybe it was the dramatic love song at the end of their first meeting that had me both scratching my head and stifling laughter. but i’ve heard good things about w, and did want to pick it up until i heard the ending went a bit lopsided, so to save myself disappointment, i did not watch it. 

18: moonlight drawn by clouds or legend of the blue sea?

okay so this is tricky… mdbc is critically… probably a better drama but despite it’s flaws i really have to say legend of the blue sea. i watched it the whole way through, and i really love the soundtrack (which im actually listening to as i answer these) and the main characters, and it made me laugh a lot even if i did cry a little over the greatness it could’ve been :((

oh hye won and her friend ji soo from secret love affair. i really loved their friendship, how ji soo was a pillar of support for hye won, she was a real friend. 

i really truly love the friendship between the three main female leads in the woman who still wants to marry- it’s so warm. 

oh hae young and her friend in oh hae young again are also very sweet, i’m really glad hae young had a friend she could talk to. 

oh and the friendships between shim cheong and all her cute oddball friends in legend of the blue sea :’((( that was pure stuff right there

and let’s not forget the kids and family on the block in reply 1988, its honestly so lovely :’((

oooh… this is hard… if this was bollywood it would be easier because i would’ve just said kajol and sharukh khan… but here… lemme think… now that i think about it… i really liked gong hyo jin with so ji sub in the master’s sun. i also really liked park hyun sik and lim ji yeon together in high society. but otherwise… my brain is frazzled!! 

how could i forget minah and namgung min in beautiful gong shim :((( they had such great chemistry 

but lets be real jo jung suk and gong hyo jin in jealousy incarnate were hilarious. 

32: do you watch drama’s with 30 plus episodes?

oh boy oh boy… i think i did watch one? but skipped a load of it to watch one couple… i mean i’ve thought about it? especially with father is strange… but it’s a pretty rare case. i know i’ve started some but couldn’t get through them all :(

efrhiptfuohf’rgh let us see… this is hard because kdrama’s don’t like being complete fluff… but the woman who wants to marry is a wild bit of fun :((

my girlfriend is a gumiho is a really nice watch, wouldn’t call it 100% fluff because… i cried a little 

oh and splash splash love is short and sweet without being too silly :’)

and i guess my only love song is a load fluff, you can enjoy its strange antics and not take it too seriously!

Cặp đôi "Kingdom" chinh phục người xem trong phim "Jirisan"

Bộ phim "Jirisan" đang "làm mưa, làm gió" trên màn ảnh Việt đánh dấu sự quay trở lại của hai ngôi sao K-Drama là Jun Ji Hyun và Joo Ji Hoon. Jun Ji Hyun vào vai nữ kiểm lâm Seo Yi Kang làm công tác cứu hộ ở núi Jiri, còn Joo Ji Hoon vào vai chàng đồng nghiệp Kang Hyun Jo mới "chân ướt, chân ráo" của cô. Trong phim, với kinh nghiệm lâu năm trong nghề, nữ kiểm lâm Seo Yi Kang liên tục có các màn giải cứu nạn nhân thành công.

Bộ phim "Jirisan" bao hàm đủ các thể loại phim khác nhau, từ viễn tưởng đến giật gân, hành động, kinh dị, bí ẩn, phim thành công trong việc kích thích tối đa sự tò mò của khán giả. Ngay trong tập đầu tiên, người xem đã được chứng kiến cảnh cặp đôi Jun Ji Hyun và Joo Ji Hoon cùng nhau giải cứu một học sinh tiểu học bị lạc trong rừng. Cuộc chiến giành giật sự sống cho đứa trẻ trở nên vô cùng khó khăn khi "thời gian vàng" để giải cứu đã trôi qua. 

Lúc này, cặp đôi nhân viên kiểm lâm quyết định tách đoàn giải cứu để thực hiện những nỗ lực cuối cùng dựa trên những cảm nhận hết sức bản năng của chàng trai trẻ Kang Hyun Jo. Cuối cùng, cả hai đã thành công, nữ kiểm lâm Seo Yi Kang hết sức khó hiểu đối với linh tính của Kang Hyun Jo. Sau đó, Seo Yi Kang tiếp tục lờ mờ nhận ra rằng có một thế lực nào đó, tìm cách dẫn dụ du khách vào rừng để giết chết họ. 

Phim "Jirisan" có cốt truyện phức tạp

Bộ phim "Jirisan" được kể trên hai dòng thời gian khác nhau. Thứ nhất là cảnh năm 2018 tập trung vào Seo Yi Kang và Kang Jyun Jo truy tìm dấu vết của kẻ giết người trên đỉnh núi. Bên cạnh đó là cảnh 2 năm sau, nữ kiểm lâm Seo Yi Kang quay trở lại đỉnh núi để tìm câu trả lời. 

Việc hai dòng thời gian được đạo diễn sắp xếp khá chồng chéo khiến cho quá trình xem phim gặp nhiều khó khăn nếu người xem không tập trung. Tuy nhiên, những điều bí ẩn trong phim "Jirisan" sẽ khiến cho người xem không ít lần phải thót tim khi các nhân vật chính gặp nguy hiểm.

Dù chỉ mới lên sóng, bộ phim dự đoán sẽ lọt vào danh sách phim truyền hình có rating cao. Sau 6 tập phát sóng, "Jirisan" đã đạt mức rating trên toàn quốc là 8,9% và mức đỉnh là 10,1%, đánh dấu lượng người xem tăng trưởng. 

Chiều qua, Jin của BTS đã phát hành ca khúc solo “Yours” - ca khúc rất được mong đợi của nam ca sĩ cho nhạc phim “Jirisan”. Bài hát đã nhanh chóng đứng đầu các bảng xếp hạng iTunes tại nhiều quốc gia trên thế giới.

Theo Naver, sau gần 24h "lên sóng", "Yours" đã đạt vị trí số 1 trên bảng xếp hạng iTunes Top Songs ở ít nhất 82 khu vực khác nhau như Mỹ, Anh, Nhật Bản, Pháp, Đức, Úc, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Ý, Mexico, Na Uy, Nga, Thái Lan, Thụy Điển...
