I see queer friendly Christians the same way I see Queer friendly republicans. Members of an inherently bigoted organization, giving it a friendly face so that it's easier to excuse its bigotry.

Just like how a single republican being gay doesn't change the fact that stripping all queer people of rights is part of what the republican party is trying to accomplish; a single Christian being gay doesn't change the fact that stripping all queer people of rights is part of what the Christianity as an institution is trying to accomplish.

It's time we stopped making excuses for the church because some of them put on a progressive face. Because you can make that excuse for any institution. We can't be having "not all Christians" disclaimers when we talk about Christian bigotry for the same reason we can't be having "not everyone on the right" disclaimers when we talk about right wing bigotry.

This is the first time I’ve posted one of my more politically motivated pieces, inspired by the I.L. Peretz quote as included in the piece, it depicts the often not talked about struggle that we minorities must all undertake when living in the diaspora or even in our own occupied homelands. In this case it focuses on the Jewish people, as I am a Jew, but this also applies very much to many other people, to many degrees much more severely. “Golus” is a word of Hebrew origin meaning “Diaspora” or “Exile.”

I don’t think anyone should ever say that living in a multicultural society is an easy thing, as of now I believe saying that would make you a liar. Of course it *shouldn’t* be so difficult, but it seems to be the nature of the world we live in that in a multicultural society there will always be some group or groups who inevitably decide that they must take ultimate supremacy over others, they will fight to obtain or in the most cases *maintain* that supremacy at all costs. And so for the minority or the diaspora community, in many ways the mere act of living or existing becomes an act of resistance in what will often feel like a battlefield.

But we have in many cases grown the diaspora, and even if you’ve just arrived you have the right to live anywhere so long as you do not seek supremacy over others, and so when they ask why we stay in such a situation, why we don’t just run away, we say to them that it is because the lands we live on are our homes, homes that deserves to be shared with all people. We will not let the ethno-nationalists and racial supremacists take our homes from us, we shall fight on the battlefield for a better tomorrow, and we do so not just in the name of self-preservation but in the name of justice and peace for all people.

To run away from the battlefield is to let yet another bordered piece of territory become an ethnostate in the control of the racial-supremacist, we do not run away from the battlefield.

Every single instance I've seen of "I'd punch a nazi" and "Elon is a nazi who must be stopped" from activists has been 1000000% performative. If you really cared about Jews that much, you would have been posting about October 7th for the past year and a half. You would have actually tried to make space for Jewish trauma in your activism and called in your friends for their antisemitism. You wouldn't have tried to pit Jews and Arabs against each other by acting like you can only care about one. Fuck Elon and nazis, and fuck you all too

I left this in my drafts for a few days because I wanted to consider if this song was ok to post. I don't agree that the genocide is religion based. Religion always has been and always will be an excuse for oppression, not a reason. The reason is colonialism.

Wether the bands understanding of the oppression of Palestine has changed or not, the point I wanted to make is still the same.

Wow. Just found out one of my (now ex) mutuals supports genocide.

I want to be very clear to anyone reading this that if you support attacking people or forcibly removing people from where they live because of their ethnicity you are a supporter of genocide. You have no place on the left. Ethnostates are an inherently right wing concept. The idea of an ethnic group having control over a certain peice of land and getting to decide what happens to other people living there is inherently right wing.

I don't care what an ethnic group did, I don't support genocide agaisnt them. I am agasint all genocide. In any circumstance. That's what being anti genocide means.
