Finally watched Wings (1927) for the first time, and oh my, it really is that gay, it wasn't just that one kissing scene taken out of context.
The entire film turns on the relationship between the two men, progressing from romantic rivals to ride-or-die comrades under the duress of wartime. The ostensible female romantic lead is entirely unnecessary, tacked on at the behest of studio executives who wanted to boost box office. She appears in only a few scenes, does nothing to drive the main plot, and is absent from large portions of the film and at all the key moments. The actress, Clara Bow, knew the film was beneath her, once saying it was "a man's picture and I'm just the whipped cream on top of the pie."
I guess Top Gun did not, in fact, invent the military-pilot-rivals-to-friends-to-implied-lovers trope after all.
It's literally WWI Icemav. (Maybe an Ice-Lives AU where, freshly retired and bored out of his mind, Ice agrees to go to a museum exhibit with Bradley and Jake on the history of LGBTQ people in the military, where he stumbles on a picture of two unidentified WWI flying aces, standing close with their arms draped around each other in a way that could be friendly but somehow is more than that. Ice knows the pose and he becomes obsessed with finding out who they are.)
Using his contacts and military history knowledge he's eventually able to verify that the men are David Armstrong and Jack Powell. They came from the same town, but different social classes. Jack was impulsive and loved fast cars. David was more reserved. They were described as the closest of friends by their fellow soldiers. David died in the war, Jack returned home and married his childhood sweetheart, they had no children. When Jack died, he was buried next to David. That's all Ice can find, but it's enough. He sends his findings to the museum, then drives to the hanger just so he can hold Mav in his arms, but first he calls Bradley...
"You need to marry that boy."
"...I thought you didn't like him."
"I don't, but... But if he makes you happy then that... Jesus Bradley, you and Jake are the first ones, the first generation who can live your lives openly. Don't waste that chance, so many of us never got that, never even allowed ourselves to imagine what it would be like."
"Well, good news. I proposed a month ago and we've been trying to figure out how to tell you. We actually thought the museum exhibit might soften you up, but you got so fixated on that damn photo you forgot we were even there."

I CRIED???? Y'ALL NEED TO STOP SENDING ME SONGS THAT SOUND LIKE THE BABIES BECAUSE I CRY LIKE AN IDIOTLKSDJFKLG
I LOVED THIS ONE, HERE WE GO
The moon will sing.
Moon system x reader.
Tags & warnings. A bit of angst (you know me), fluff and some self steem problems.
Word count. 2.4k
Summary.
I loved you like the sun; with no light of my own, I shine only with the light you gave me.
Over time, you came to understand that this couldn't be, at least not in a romantic sense, but you had no problem accepting that the four of you worked incredibly well as best friends.
You loved them, and there was no greater reward than seeing how your love had been a significant support in their lives. Sometimes, there's nothing like watching the love of your life grow. However, no matter how hard you worked, there was something they still couldn't shake.
But the silver lining was that many times, they just needed a little reassurance.
In Steven's case, it was always his memory.
As it turns out, Steven, for logical reasons, didn't remember much of his life, and he never really thought about it until now when he was in this strange balance with Marc and Jake. Even though the three of them stood thinking, "Hey, this is better than how I felt in the past," there were things in his head that they never expressed because sometimes comfort gives you a false sense that you shouldn't complain about your current situation.
That you should be grateful.
And Steven Grant was thankful for many things. He was grateful for Marc and Jake, grateful for you, grateful for his life, and even grateful for Gus's new friend. So when throughout the day he heard or saw something that triggered a false deja vu, he suppressed the urge to cry, knowing that it was probably a memory of Marc that he wasn't identifying correctly.
Much of his life was spent questioning what had been real and what was a product of his imagination.
"Listen, listen," you whispered, looking at him intently.
Both of you were sitting on his carpet right in front of the sofa, your backs against the couch and your shoulders touching.
You were introducing Steven to the magic of Green Day, and he was the only one who could tolerate your habit of pausing every song to say, 'this is the best part,' in a short 3-minute period.
Well, this one was really the best part. The build-up during the 'Til then I walk alone' always gave you shivers, and it did the same for him, but for a completely different reason.
It was silly to think that a young Marc Spector, unsupervised and burdened with a thousand problems to deal with, didn't take advantage of every opportunity to distract himself in any way he could, like at parties.
In 2004, at just 16 years old, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" was one of those things that made you say, "Woah, this is definitely the best thing humanity has ever created." It was at one of those ridiculous parties that Billie Joe Armstrong figuratively opened his eyes.
Suddenly, Steven wasn't with you anymore. He was on an uncomfortable couch surrounded by cigarette smoke, and the taste of beer lingered in his mouth. He could deal with the memory, but not with the flood of feelings that hit him like a runaway truck. The feeling of being a lost child, without parents, without friends, without his brother, and without any desire, fighting not to sink as the days went by.
Sometimes, it was a good reminder of how much of an anchor he was for Marc.
He ripped out his earpiece before the song could finish, and he looked at you with fear. You furrowed your brow, confused but not as detached from the situation as you had been in the past. It wasn't the first time.
"Steven? Are you okay?" you whispered, putting your phone aside to look at him.
"Yeah, yeah, I…," he stammered, closing his eyes for a few seconds just to catch his breath. "It was a… It's nothing."
You placed your hand on his cheek to seek his gaze, and he immediately melted at your touch, his head tilting toward your hand like a puppy seeking affection.
"What happened?"
"I… I remembered."
Oh, so that was it.
You nodded slowly, and your arms slid around his shoulders, he hugged you by the waist to pull you closer to his body. You learned with time that Steven's love language was physical touch.
You felt him squeeze harder with his arms, and his forehead rested on your shoulder.
"It's okay if you want to cry," you knew he was holding back.
Like clockwork, you felt your T-shirt getting wet from his tears.
"I can't anymore," he whispered with difficulty, his body experiencing small spasms from crying. "I can't anymore, I don't know what's… I don't know," he stammered, and you nodded slowly.
"I understand." The position was uncomfortable, but you weren't willing to let go. "I understand, Steven."
"I don't know what's real, I don't know." He took a deep breath. "I was at… at some kind of party," he tried to laugh at his silly memory while sniffing.
"And were they listening to Green Day? It sounds like fun," you joked back with a slight smile, your fingers combing his curls to your liking. "Marc definitely had a Green Day phase."
You managed to make him laugh, even with his difficulty in breathing.
"Maybe," you whispered, trying to get his attention again. "We can talk to him; he'll help you remember."
"He doesn't like to talk about it."
You moved away just enough to look him in the face. Your hands traveled from his shoulders to his cheeks, which you squeezed with your fingers while giving him a small smile.
"He'll understand," you whispered, the tip of your nose brushing against his. Finally, you saw him smile back.
"Do you think so?"
"I do," you confirmed, wrinkling your nose at him affectionately.
For Marc, it all depended on embracing his inner child, both literally and symbolically, the one who was always scared and never knew how to express it.
The sound of one of his crystal glasses shattering made you look up from the sofa. He was looking at the floor in annoyance, and within seconds, you heard a second crash, him hitting the nearest wall.
"Shit!" he exclaimed loudly. You sighed heavily and got up to go to the kitchen.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I… yeah," he said, looking at his hand, which had a cut on the palm. You could hear his heavy breathing, his chest rising and falling in front of your eyes.
"Calm down."
"I am calm," he replied immediately, looking at the juice stain on the floor.
"Marc, it's okay." The glass crunched under your shoe, and you almost gave him a nervous tic. You were making an even bigger mess; you were going to get him in trouble.
But with whom?
Who was going to punish him?
"Look at that." Your voice was soft, and he found it ridiculous how your expression wrinkled in concern when you noticed the cut on his hand.
He'd been impaled once; this was nothing.
"It doesn't hurt."
You ignored him, placing your hand under his to bring it closer to your face. Your other hand removed the tiny shard of glass stuck in his skin, and he hissed; it hurt a little, just a little.
Very little.
"Come on, let me…" You whispered, bringing his hand with you. This time, his shoes completed the mess beneath both of you. You turned on the sink and held his hand under the water.
He stayed still, obedient to you. He could feel the rhythm of his heart slowing down.
He watched as you put soap in his palm and then rubbed it with yours as if he were washing his hands himself. It stung, but he paid little attention when you were so close. The genuine concern you felt for him made Marc's stomach turn; this hadn't happened to him before.
The blood stopped flowing within seconds; it wasn't anything serious, just as he had thought.
"Do you think you need a band-aid?"
He thought you were teasing him until he saw you smile with your characteristic tenderness. He slowly shook his head, not knowing what to say.
His gaze dropped to the floor, and you did the same.
"Oh, that."
"Take off your shoes." He moved to the dry part of the floor, doing as he had asked you to do. His tone was so gentle that your smile unconsciously grew on your face.
This was the point you wanted to reach with him.
"Let me pick up the glass, okay? Get a towel to dry this."
And together, as if they were on a children's show, you cleaned up the mess Marc had caused, without raising your voices or arguing.
"Do you want to choose the movie for tonight?" You gave him a little nudge with your shoulder as both of you finished washing your hands, and he pushed you back in the same playful manner.
"I thought that was a given." It's amazing how quickly you can forget your mistakes when no one scares you for making them.
You were willing to stay as long as it took for Marc to understand that accidents were just that—accidents. If only someone had told him that many years ago.
The rest of the night passed as if nothing had happened. He hugged your shoulders, and you ate popcorn from the bowl resting on his stomach. Marc chose the worst action movie you had ever seen, but you enjoyed his silly comments as well as his laughter when the effects were terrible.
A broken glass wasn't the end of the world; it never was.
Topics with Jake were always deeper, both literally and symbolically; the conversations you had about the existence of human beings always seemed like a philosophy class.
Because unfortunately, he still had trouble feeling like a person with autonomy, not just an extension of Marc and Steven's needs.
He wasn't just a tool.
"I don't understand why they need another room." He looked around with a furrowed brow, still not sure how you managed to get rid of all the clutter in that room.
It was completely empty, except for an old desk that Steven refused to get rid of. It was the perfect space.
"For you."
"Huh?" He looked at you as if you were crazy.
"For you. I talked to Steven and Marc, and they both agree that you deserve to have a space for yourself that isn't your car."
He rolled his eyes.
"I don't spend that much time in my car."
"Steven says you like the car more than him."
He thought about it for a moment.
"Well, that's true."
This time, you rolled your eyes.
"But…" He continued. "It's not necessary. I'm sure Steven's books would make better use of the space. Why do I need a room?"
"For listening to music? Reading? Watching those dramatic afternoon novelas? Watching pornogr…”
"Fine! I get it!" He wasn't thrilled with the idea. You could see it as he continued to look around the room, not sure if he was planning something or simply disdainful of the idea.
"Do you like it?"
"No."
He was the most difficult person you knew; that wasn't a surprise. But he gradually warmed up to the idea, especially when you brought him two different posters, each with a completely different painting printed on them.
Café Terrace at Night by Vincent Van Gogh.
Vs.
Las Meninas by Diego Velazquez.
It took him hours to decide; every now and then, he would stop to look at the paintings and examine every detail.
"Did you know…" He caught your attention as you organized some books on the desk, new books he had chosen. "Van Gogh didn't sign this painting?" He pointed at the poster, and you looked up to analyze it as if you were going to refute it. "Historians know it's his because he mentioned it in letters before."
Well, that was something you didn't know.
Steven probably said he knew it from the headspace.
"I had no idea."
"I think I'll go with that one."
"Then that's the one."
And so began the extensive collection of meaningless decorations on the walls of Jake's new room. He had a thousand photos with no order, pictures of Marc and Steven (anyone who walked into the room would think he just had very high self-esteem), pictures of you, cats he saw on the street, his car or cars he thought were cool but would never be his.
He had photos of the moon and Queen posters. Papers that made him look like one of those hoarders from the reality shows you watched with Steven, because when he realized he could find a bit of his reality in the smallest things, he didn't stop.
A parking meter ticket, some from the corner convenience store where he bought spicy potato chips that painted his fingers red, the wrapper from one of his favorite candies, some tickets from different movies at the cinema, that note you left on the passenger seat wishing him a good day.
The collection was so extensive that you'd probably never finish listing it.
Oh, he also had a shopping list from Steven.
He never thanked you out loud, but the fact that he started using the space was enough for you. Ah, and the way he lifted you in his arms to make you laugh.
"Jake! No, no, no!" Your legs were wrapped around his hips, your fingers gripping his shoulders.
"You're amazing, you know that, cariño?"
"Why?"
"Just because you are." He kissed your entire face, oh, never the lips; he didn't cross that boundary even though the temptation was constant, especially when your huge eyes fixed on him in this way, your forehead resting against his.
"Just because you are." He repeated with the same smile.
The truth was, neither Steven, nor Marc, nor Jake had much in mind about what their life was like before you, and that's why they were afraid to think about what it would be like without you in it.
Maybe that was why they were so afraid to take that extra step, why they enjoyed your love the way they did, without giving you the exchange you deserved.
What if it didn't work out? Could they live with the memory of how well you had treated them?
What were they before you?
And what would they be if you weren't there?
None of them wanted to imagine it.
So every night, Steven held you tighter, praying that you would never realize that you deserved more than this, more than fixing someone broken; Marc told you stories you had heard before, as a way to let you know how much he cared, how confident he was that if someone wouldn't judge him, it was you; and Jake kept buying your favorite chocolates as if that would be enough to keep you, oh, and sometimes he kept the wrappers.
If you ever decided to leave, those would be proof that you were once with them.

Linkin Park - From Zero (with @jakeh2987)
Few bands have frustrated me more than nu-metal and rap-rock band Linkin Park. I’ve had such a complicated relationship with them for a multitude of reasons, whether for never listening to them during their initial popularity, their sound never being consistent for more than two albums, or hardly any of those sounds ever resonating with me. I’ve been listening to their discography as of late, as I’ve wanted to re-examine and re-contextualize their body of work. They’re a band that so many people love, but I’ve just never been able to “get it.” Maybe I’ve been too harsh on them over the years, so my thoughts might improve. There’s an elephant in the room that we need to address, though: on July 20th, 2017, vocalist Chester Bennington passed away by taking his own life.
I don’t know of a celebrity death that shook people to their core harder, especially for how unexpected it was. The band had just released One More Light, their foray into pop music that unfortunately didn’t sit well with longtime fans. Bennington’s death caused the band to lie dormant, and fans had no hope of the band getting back together, especially when Bennington was a once in a lifetime talent that no one could dare to replicate. They’ve stayed quiet for the past seven years, but they properly announced their return a few months ago, complete with a new singer in tow.
Emily Armstrong, of rock band Dead Sara, was touted at their new frontwoman, and boy, were fans angry. A lot of fans were welcoming and accepting, but even now, there are still a bunch of fans that can’t even fathom the idea of someone replacing Bennington, let alone a woman. Along with single “The Emptiness Machine,” the band also announced a new album, From Zero. Based on the idea of the band coming back “from zero,” as well as the band’s name being Xero, this record had a lot riding on it. I don’t want to talk about this album alone, though, so let’s welcome my buddy Jake back into the fold for this review! As a longtime fan of Linkin Park, how do you feel about them, and what was going through your mind when From Zero was announced?
When I look back on my musical journey and the development of my tastes, Linkin Park was my first favorite band, going back to around the time Minutes To Midnight came out. I just remember being excited by this form of more aggressive and heavier musc than I was used to at the time, and let's be honest, in 2006 going into 2007, I was just about to enter high school, so I was really prime for the angsty lyrics that were their signature. So, I've had love for this band for damn near 20 years now, which is kind of wild to think about, but you can imagine how shook I was personally by Chester Bennington's death. I think I actually remember you and I discussing it when the news first broke, and we were both totally shocked, because you're right, it came out of nowhere. I really had no idea what was going to happen next, but after they played their benefit show later in 2017, I was at peace with that being the end, because yeah, how could you replace someone like Bennington? Plenty of bands, absolutely iconic ones, even, have navigated tragedies and managed to come out the other side, sometimes bigger and better than ever (AC/DC immediately comes to mind), but Bennington's voice, both in the literal sense and in the sense of his lyrics and what he was saying about his mental health, was so integral to the band's identity, that I don't think you could blame anyone for wondering if they were done.
Well, seven years later, it turns out Linkin Park had more to say and share with the world, and that's in the form of this album, From Zero. A few weeks before the initial announcement and comeback show, buzz had started to build about a potential Linkin Park reunion, and I remember feeling a little apprehensive, but ultimately willing to trust Mike Shinoda that he wouldn't do any of this if there wasn't genuinely something there. The comeback show happens, Emily Armstrong gets introduced to the world as the new vocalist, and we're getting new music from one of my very favorite bands for the first time in close to a decade, something I wasn't sure was ever gonna happen again! I had no idea who Emily was, so I liked the idea of it being someone lesser known, and I also immediately loved the bold choice of choosing a woman to front one of the biggest rock bands on the planet, in a genre that has so few non-men performers at the forefront. I also really liked "The Emptiness Machine" upon first listen; it felt like a cool blend of old and new, and having Mike carry the first bit of the song before passing the reigns to Emily was a very cool symbolic way to introduce her to the fans. So, I was riding pretty high on all of this initially, honestly!
That all being said, I'd be remiss if I didn't at least briefly touch on some stuff regarding Emily's past and why some people started to question the choice to bring her on, mainly her alleged ties to the Church of Scientology and her support of now-convicted rapist Danny Masterson, of That 70's Show fane. From everything I've been able to gather from researching this, it appears that Emily was born into Scientology and hasn't been actively participating in anything relating to it for a very long time, and her support for Masterson only extended to the very first court date, and she immediately backed away once more and more evidence came to light over the course of the trial. So, after all of that was bubbling up and then was later put into a more clear perspective, I think unless you're just stubborn, or misogynstic, or both, there's a lot to be happy about regarding this comeback. So, let's talk about this album!
First, I wanna ask you, given your past history with the band, what was it about From Zero that finally made Linkin Park click for you?
When “The Emptiness Machine” first dropped, I hadn’t gone through the band’s discography yet, but it’s not only a good first single, it was a good debut single to showcase Armstrong’s vocals and how well of a fit she is for the band. I surprisingly really enjoyed it, especially for how it revived the band’s harder edged sounds, but still maintained a really catchy core. The week before From Zero came out, I got the idea to go through the band’s first couple of albums, ultimately revisiting those to see if I could enjoy those more now. Spoiler alert: Hybrid Theory and Meteora are fantastic. Despite being rather dated in spots, they still hold up quite well and they’re impeccably written, but that got me wanting to listen to their rest of their discography as I was also listening to From Zero.
I wanted to be able to compare their newest album to the rest of their discography, especially when part of From Zero’s appeal for me, personally, is that it takes a lot of elements of their other records and packages it into a tight set of 32 minutes. After going through the rest of their albums, as well as Shinoda’s last solo album, you can hear a lot of that here. Whether it’s the nu-metal of their first two albums, the alt-metal / hard-rock of 2007’s Minutes To Midnight, the moody and atmospheric sound of 2010’s A Thousand Suns, the rap-rock-meets-pop sound of 2012’s Living Things (there’s a lot of Living Things influence here, surprisingly), the post-hardcore stylings of 2014’s The Hunting Party, or the streamlined pop of 2017’s One More Light. Even on Shinoda’s 2018 solo album, Post-Traumatic, there’s some influence there.
From Zero isn’t only their first album in seven years, their first with a new singer, as well as their shortest album to date, but it’s their first album to celebrate their legacy and their body of work. Instead of going too much in one direction, because they could have easily made a nu-metal album and it would have been fine, but they took bits and pieces from their discography. Their albums are still rather hit or miss for me, but I don’t outright hate any of their albums anymore. My thoughts have improved on most of them, but their inconsistency is still kind of an issue for me, but From Zero is the first album of theirs since the first two that I’ve been able to really enjoy front to back. What about you, Jake? How do you feel about this record?
I think you hit the nail on the head there, and why I really like this album a lot; it's a celebration of the band's legacy and everything they've done before, but at the same time, and really importantly, it's also pushing them forward in a new direction that doesn't ever feel like a cheap retread or a ploy for nostalgia. That feeling of nostalgia comes naturally, just from the band playing to their strengths and having a blast doing it. "Two Faced" is probably my favorite song on the album; it's very much a called back to the Hybrid Theory/Meteora era, but I just really love the energy on that song, and there's an undeniable swagger in the back and forth between Emily and Mike. You're totally right, though, it would have been very easy to just do an album of all that, but they didn't, and that's a testament to how Linkin Park was never a band to stay stagnant, even when it didn't always work. Another highlight for me is "Over Each Other," a more ballad-y song where Emily fully gets the spotlight. It wouldn't feel out of place on Living Things or even One More Light, but whereas I thought One More Light in particular didn't do a lot with the sound they were going for, a song like this takes that idea and infuses it with a renewed Linkin Park essence that makes it work a lot better.
What were some of your highlights on the album?
From Zero certainly feels like a new direction, too, even with a lot of their previous albums infused within its DNA. That’s another reason why this record works so well, because it has its own identity. As for highlights, “Two Faced” is my favorite as well, because it has that nu-metal sound of the first two albums, but with something new and interesting about it. Emily and Mike sound great, too, but speaking of risks, “Casualty” is another huge highlight. I didn’t have Linkin Park making a hardcore song on my bingo card for this year, but here we are. Emily’s screams are fantastic, and while Mike is kind of just shouting, he still is pushing his voice in a way he hasn’t before. I also really like “Over Each Other,” because it’s a solo cut from Emily, and it’s a good choice to put a song with just her here. Songs like that, as well as some of the more pop-focused cuts, like “Stained,” “Overflow,” and the closing track, “Good Things Go” have the same kind of sound that One More Light did, like you said, but with something more. The latter track is another highlight, too, because of its very emotional and weighty sound that closes the album out on a real good note.
"Good Things Go" is actually a really great album closer, and I love how the last few seconds loop back around to the intro track, making for a really cool full circle loop that makes it even easier to immediately replay the album. I also gotta show some love to "Heavy Is The Crown;" that song was chosen as the theme to this year's League Of Legends world champinships, and I believe there's even a version of it featured in the newest season of Arcane (a show I really need to watch), and it's very easy to hear why. It's another quintinsensially Linkin Park song, and that long scream Emily does during the bridge?? I feel like that was the moment that was like "Okay, she's got this" for me.
I love that it loops around to the intro, because it shows that it’s a full circle experience, almost like the band itself is circling back to when they first started. They’re starting again, essentially, so I love a lot of the symbolism here. Oh, man, I forgot about “Heavy Is The Crown”! That’s definitely within my top three songs, and it’s a song that I’ve been coming back to quite a bit, whether it’s for that hook, or Emily’s wicked screams. That’s a song that shows the past and the present for the band at the same time, because you can hear their earlier material there, but also something new. I was pretty sold on her when the first single came out, but both “Heavy Is The Crown” and “Two Faced” really sold me, and actually had me more excited for the album. Mike is surprisingly a solid rapper, so I’m happy he gets to shine a lot throughout this thing. Even as a singer, he’s improved quite a bit, and it’s awesome to see their chemistry.
I also quite enjoy the lyrics on this thing, too, because they feel very quintessential Linkin Park, whether they’re interestingly vague and specific at the same time, and there’s a ton of emotional catharsis throughout. They aren’t anything too deep or poetic, but they never needed to be. Their lyrics have always been vague but specIn certain points, when Emily screams a certain line, I’m eerily reminded of Chester doing the same thing on the first two albums, and it sounds so good.
Speaking of which, there is another elephant in the room that I think we need to discuss, and that can be a good way to start to close this out — there are plenty of people that are going to write this off simply for the fact this isn’t with Chester. Even if Emily was another guy, I guarantee that people would still refuse to even give this a chance. What do you think about that minority of fans that refuse to give anything else a listen by them if it doesn’t have Chester?
You know, on some level, I do kind of get it. Chester Bennington really was one of a kind, and the rest of the band had an utterly impossible task when they were looking for someone to carry on this role. Honestly, the only scenario I could see that maybe most people wouldn't be too upset with was Mike taking on all the vocal duties himself, but as solid as I think he's grown as a vocalist, having those dual vocals is another thing that's always put Linkin Park apart from other bands in the genre. So, when such a key piece of something that meant so much to you isn't there anymore, I can understand the hesitation. But, I listen to Mike talk in any interview he's done since the comeback and how much he didn't want this to happen just for the sake of it happening, and how it only really felt like Linkin Park again after Emily starting singing on the songs, I don't know how you don't at the very least give it a solid chance. If it's not for you still, that's totally valid, but what I don't love is when people (and to be fair, this is only a very small but loud minority) invoke Chester and try to say some nonense about how this totally shits on his and the band's legacy or how they should have changed the name, or even say some downright sexist shit like "Lol it's just Paramore now!" It's like, you could just quietly move on if it's not for you, and it's not as if the rest of their discography just goes away all of a sudden. I just don't see a world where you see how happy the band is to be performing again, and how Emily's really coming into her own as she gets more comfortable, and at the very least be happy that this band gets to continue in some form, even if their new album isn't for you.
I think that’s part of the cloud that hangs over this album, albeit from a small (but vocal) minority of people with that opinion, but the elephant in the room of this album not featuring Chester looms over this thing. For a long time, it seemed impossible that they could fill his shoes, and they could have easily had Mike take on lead vocal duties, but you’re right, LP’s appeal were those dual vocals, especially the rapped vocals and the sung/screamed ones. The hesitation is understandable, and I think most people would be, but that’s the other thing: Mike and the other members would not want to bring someone aboard that they weren’t comfortable and confident in, and they brought back Linkin Park as a labor of love, not because they need a paycheck.
I could understand if you give this album a chance, and it just doesn’t do anything for you, but there are people that will refuse to listen to it out, purely out of principle. I suppose I’m just baffled, because how wouldn’t this hit with longtime fans that love the first few albums? It has a lot of the same stuff that fans have loved, and just because Chester isn’t on it, it doesn’t mean it isn’t as good. I think that’s the thing about it, too, where people can’t just be quiet if they don’t like something. People always feel the need to express their vitriol for something, no matter how small, and they’ll always find something to dislike. It’s good that it’s a small minority, because a lot of the reaction I’ve seen has been positive.
I think what will be really telling for all this when it's said and done is how they follow up From Zero. This was the foot in the door, and Linkin Park has never been one to rest on their laurels and make the same album twice, so I'm so curious to see where they go from here. I'm also hopeful that after the intial feelings of having the band back at all and having Emily there wear off, if the people who aren't gonna give it a shor or maybe aren't as into this won't be willing to give what they do next a shot. I'm probably being a tad optimistic, but I'd like to imagine that now that people know what they have, Linkin Park can really blow the doors off the place.
Regardless of all of that, I think From Zero is basically everything I could have asked for in a Linkin Park comeback. It's a lean and mean collection of songs that shows the band back doing what they do best while also pushing forward, and I'm just happy this happened at all, considering how hard I imagine it must have been for them to even think about doing it.
From Zero is an album that doesn’t need to be anything experimental or revolutionary, because it’s exactly their foot in the door. They got back together, and they need to show that they still got it, so to speak, and this is them doing what they do best, all the while adding some new and exciting ideas. It’s cool that we’re in a new era for the band, because there were many years we never thought we’d get that, so I’m anticipating what we get next. I never have been crazy about Linkin Park, but this is the album that made me “get” them, so to speak. I’m happy I get to share this joy, even if it’s from someone that hasn’t always been their biggest fan, or grew up with them, but I absolutely love this album, and it’s one of my favorites of the year.

hey. can u do mbti + zodiac signs of the secret circle?
Faye Chamberlain, Diana Meade, Melissa Glaser, Cassie Blake, Nick Armstrong, Jake Armstrong, Adam Conant 🫶🏼
Hi there, Dinand! I really hope you like this a lot!
Faye Chamberlain's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment
MBTI Type: ESTP [The Entrepreneur]
ESTP types like being around large groups of people, whether they know them or not. They prefer being out in action to being at home by themselves.
They are very observant and detail-oriented people. They are practical and realistic, focusing on the here-and-now.
Entrepreneurs make decisions based in logic. They care more about following the truth than making other people happy.
They avoid schedules, preferring to make plans as they go. They are less aware of time and enjoy being adaptable.
Big Three: Pisces Sun, Aries Moon and Scorpio Rising
Pisces Sun: The planetary ruler for Pisces is Jupiter and Neptune, which gives Pisces Suns a sentimental, intuitive, imaginative, and dreamy nature.
Aries Moon: Lunar Aries are known to be emotionally responsive and impulsive at times, as they lead with fiery passions over than logic or reason.
Scorpio Rising: Prone to turning heads, Scorpio ascendents ooze with magnetism and dynamism. They're not known to back away from a challenge.
Enneagram Type: 8w7 [The Nonconformist]
Basic Fear: Eight with a seven wing fear being controlled by others. They dislike authority and prefer to work alone.
Basic Desire: Their basic desire is to remain in control of their own lives. They also want other people to be free, and are often advocates for those less able.
Nonconformists defend themselves by denying vulnerability. They don’t want to appear weak and therefore avoid situations that may leave them exposed or defenseless.
Moral Alignment: Chaotic Neutral [The Free Spirit]
Free from societal constraints, these characters prioritize their own freedom and make choices based on their whims.
Diana Meade's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment
MBTI Type: ESTJ [The Executive]
ESTJ types are very high energy. They’d rather spend their time with other people than alone.
They tend to pay more attention to the details of a situation. They make decisions based on what they see right now.
Executives base their decisions on what makes sense, rather than what feels right. They listen to their head, not their heart.
They are responsible and like to plan ahead. They hold themselves accountable by making lists and following set processes and rules.
Big Three: Aries Sun, Cancer Moon and Libra Rising
Aries Sun: The first sign of the zodiac, Aries is ruled by action planet Mars. When placed as the sun sign, the ram can motivate themselves to face on fears and blow past hesitation.
Cancer Moon: The emotions of Cancer Moons have no limits, restraints, or depths. This is a cosmic placement that often leads to sweetness, kindness, emotional awareness and responsibility.
Libra Rising: Finding balance in life is essential for Libra risings, who prefer things to be even-keeled and civil.
Enneagram Type: 1w2 [The Activist]
Basic Fear: People who are type one with a two wing generally have a basic fear of being immoral and making impure choices. They avoid this by making a conscious effort to make ethical choices.
Basic Desire: They also have a natural desire to be upstanding and humane. They try to fight for the rights of those less fortunate and love being hands-on in making a difference by volunteering in their community.
Activists tend to respond to negativity by redirecting their emotions in order to gain a sense of control. In type ones with two wings, this may lead to sudden outbursts or breaking points, as they work through their emotions more externally.
Moral Alignment: Lawful Good [The Crusader]
These are characters who believe in truth, honor and order. They always strive to do the right thing, even at a great personal cost.
Melissa Glaser's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment
MBTI Type: ISFJ [The Defender]
ISFJ types need time alone to re-energize. They are self-sufficient and independent thinkers.
They are very observant and prefer to focus on the details of every situation. They listen to and follow past experience and present understandings.
Defenders prioritize the emotional needs of others. They make decisions based on what feels right, rather than what might make most logical sense.
They also prefer structure and organization, tending to follow rules and processes to an end goal. They are responsible and have a strong work ethic.
Big Three: Taurus Sun, Virgo Moon and Capricorn Rising
Taurus Sun: The Bull tends to be drawn to a creative, indulgent lifestyle — and we wouldn’t expect anything less from a Venus ruled sign. They're also thought to have a stubborn, loyal and grounded personality.
Virgo Moon: Virgo Moons use their calm nature to gain deep clarity on matters, filtering questions through their kind, but reasonable, lens.
Capricorn Rising: Capricorn ascendants are known for their efforts and diligence when it comes to attaining success and prosperity.
Enneagram Type: 6w5 [The Guardian]
Basic Fear: Sixes with five wings are afraid of losing their guidance and stability. This is often expressed through their skepticism of the world.
Basic Desire: They have a strong desire for security, which they tend to show by protecting themselves and others. They seek close and stable relationships.
Guardians tend to defend themselves by projecting their own feelings onto others, which can often enhance their distrust of the world.
Moral Alignment: Neutral Good [The Benevolent]
These characters seek to do good, but are flexible in how they achieve it, valuing both order and freedom.
Cassie Blake's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment
MBTI Type: ISFP [The Adventurer]
ISFP types need plenty of personal space. Though they enjoy building connections with people, they need alone time to think and recharge.
They are very observant, especially focusing on the details more than the overall view. They live in the present and tend to base decisions on what they can see right now.
Adventurers also prioritize emotion when making decisions. They prefer to follow what feels right.
They don’t like schedules, but instead prefer to keep their options open. They are adaptable, spontaneous, and like to challenge the need for strict rules.
Big Three: Aries Sun, Scorpio Moon and Taurus Rising
Aries Sun: The first sign of the zodiac, Aries is ruled by action planet Mars. When placed as the sun sign, the ram can motivate themselves to face on fears and blow past hesitation.
Scorpio Moon: Scorpio Moons are known for their brooding nature that exudes passion. Once you win them over, they are loyal and unconditional in matters of love.
Taurus Rising: Those with Taurus risings exude grace and sophistication, and handle business with a sweet disposition.
Enneagram Type: 9w8 [The Advisor]
Basic Fear: Nine wing eights are afraid of being separated from the world. They avoid this by preventing conflict; however, their eight wing also encourages them to be assertive, which can create an internal tension.
Basic Desire: Their basic desire is to be internally balanced. They seek to be at peace with themselves and others.
Advisors defend themselves by numbing their negative emotions through routine and repetitive patterns. They avoid facing their own internal struggles by distracting themselves in this way.
Moral Alignment: Lawful Neutral [The Judge]
These characters are all about order and organization. They strictly follow laws, regardless of whatever it leads to good or evil outcomes.
Nick Armstrong's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment
MBTI Type: ISTP [The Virtuoso]
Virtuosos are generally more reserved and prefer being alone. They are self-sufficient and independent thinkers.
They are very observant and focus on the details of a situation, trusting facts and making decisions based on the here-and-now.
ISTP types favor logic and reason over emotional influences. They base their decisions on what makes sense.
They are also spontaneous and prefer keeping their options open. Virtuosos are often more adaptable and less aware of time.
Big Three: Virgo Sun, Leo Moon and Aries Rising
Virgo Sun: Governed by communication planet Mercury, Virgos are the thinkers of the zodiac. Virgos process information with diligence and use facts to solve problems.
Leo Moon: Possessing a wellspring of inner warmth, Leo Moons are beyond generous. As an act of love, they’ll shine their light onto those they care about.
Aries Rising: Aries ascendants are known as the go-getters of the zodiac. They don’t let anything stand in their way of achieving their personal goals.
Moral Alignment: Chaotic Good [The Rebel]
These characters value freedom and kindness, often challenging laws and order to achieve just outcomes.
Jake Armstrong's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment

Entrepreneurs make decisions based in logic. They care more about following the truth than making other people happy.
They avoid schedules, preferring to make plans as they go. They are less aware of time and enjoy being adaptable.
Big Three: Libra Sun, Scorpio Moon and Capricorn Rising
Libra Sun: Libra is ruled by the airy part of Venus, making them bon vivants, critical, and artistic — as well as forever stylish.
Scorpio Moon: Scorpio Moons are known for their brooding nature that exudes passion. Once you win them over, they are loyal and unconditional in matters of love.
Capricorn Rising: Capricorn ascendants are known for their efforts and diligence when it comes to attaining success and prosperity.
Enneagram Type: 7w8 [The Opportunist]
Basic Fear: Seven with an eight wing fear being deprived. They want to pursue new opportunities and avoid being controlled by schedules.

Adam Contant's MBTI Type, Big Three, Enneagram Type and Moral Alignment
MBTI Type: INFJ [The Advocate]
Introverted INFJs exhaust quickly around people and recharge by spending time by themselves.
They tend to overlook small details and instead focus on the entire perspective. They love to see how everything connects together.
Advocates prioritize their emotions. They tend to base decisions on what they feel is right rather than what might be logically sound, making them very empathetic.
They are also very structured and organized. INFJs like to plan ahead and follow processes and schedules.

Enthusiasts may defend themselves by unconsciously adapting characteristics of others to seem more authentic.

Music Taste The RE Characters Give Me The Vibes Of Part Three:
Piers Nivans: Oh serious boy Piers. I'll be honest, he was quite hard to pin down, but I also like to think when he's off-duty and just hanging out with his teammates and captain at a bar, or a movie theatre for the newest b-rated horror flick, or the one time they all decided to go to a medieval larp, he's a much less rough and gruff, but actually joking, light. Still serious, but anyone can see the tension melting away. For this reason, I actually think his music taste is greatly influenced by his friends. A strange mix of Queen, ABBA, I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, Ricky Martin, Toto, and quite a few famous pop songs like A Thousand Miles, I'm Not Gonna Write You A Love Song, etc. He's always willing to listen to whatever his friends want to listen to, and whatever they suddenly become obsessed with.
Jake Muller/Wesker: Jakov(I refuse to believe his name is Jacob) grew up poor in Edonia, a country constantly suffering from either war from impending invasion, civil war, or biological warfare because of greedy pharmaceutical comoanies wanting to test out new viruses. So, I don't think he really got to listen to a whole lot of music growing up. The radios, when the radio towers worked, played typically folk Edonian music, rock&roll Edonian music, or pop Edonian music. Which, since what little we've seen of Edonia, I would imagine Edonian music sounding very similar to Serbian music.
Richard Simmons: If you've seen Netflix's Tau, then Simmons gives me the exact same vibes as Alex(and not just in terms of music). He listens to classical music only when he wants to calm down and distract himself from murdering someone over something as trivial as a fingerprint on a glass. Maybe jazz if thr mood strikes him. He also likes the music he thinks Ada likes purely because it's Ada Wong, and he longs to possess her like she's a trinket.
Carla Radames: Who knows what she genuinely liked before she was transformed and gaslighted into "becoming" Ada Wong? After that, well she liked what Richard believed Ada liked(which again who fucking knows if that is the case or not). Which, in Simmons' mind and the confirmation bias he came to when he and Ada had meetings, I think he would see Ada as a classic jazz fan. Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, and Ela Fitzgerald are the artists he would mainly play for Ada, and therefore would make Carla listen to.
Helena Harper: Helena has always been known as a spitfire that didn't care much for what other people thought and always did what she thought was right unless forced otherwise. She strikes me as someone who's about counterculture, and for that reason, she seems like she would listen to heavy metal and nu-metal bands like Disturbed, Korn, Papa Roach, and Gracchus, as well as particular singers like Rob Zombie and Maynard Keenan. It's just what she likes, and she doesn't give a damn if people think she's trying to be edgy or cool.
Ingrid Hannigan: I can see Ingrid being a fan of Kate Bush, Daniela Andrade, Marika Hackman, and Lola Blanc. Not much of a dancer or a singer unless if she's intentionally trying to be goofy or romantic with a romantic partner, with a young niece or nephew, or drunk with Leon.
Ashley Graham: Ashley seems like she would be into indie pop music, like Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Ray, Of Monsters and Men, and I'm not sure if she counts as indie pop or not but putting Billie Eilish on the list too. I can see that Ashley would be the type to dance along with her songs, but it would generally be slower dancing, more swaying as she's insecure about her dancing skills and whether or not anyone can see her. She's also shy about showing her music to anyone. She hates being judged.

Too Close *Part 3*
Jake Armstrong X Reader
Word Count: 698
Requested: Anon @asunshine15
Request: Part 3 of too close Jake from secret circle AND Can you do more Jake Armstrong one shots? Please
*Part 2*
Since the attack on the house you had all stayed close to each other making sure that you never went anywhere without a partner, you were still angry at them for leaving Jake for dead so you refused to be at any gathering that wasn't specifically about getting rid of the witch hunters. They all knew that they had upset you but none of them seemed to want to apologize so that was why you were sitting in your room, your floor covered in papers that had your scribbling on them as you tried to think of a plan that was going to work without getting someone killed. You were so involved in it that you didn't see Jake climb in through your window and sit at your desk. "As much as I love to see the chaos in your mind what the hell are you trying to do?" Jake asked making his presence known, he saw you jump before you recognised his voice and turned to him.
"I'm trying to find a way to get rid of these witch hunters." You explained picking up a piece of paper before throwing it away again and picking up another. "Have you asked your friends for help?" He asked. "My friends, don't know if I have any of those." You mumbled as you continued to look for something on the floor, Jake frowned as he stood up and walked toward you, he placed his hand on your shoulder and hold you still. "What are you talking about?" He asked "your part of the circle for a reason." "I'm not talking to them at the moment." You answered as you glanced at him quickly before going back to looking for something. "Hey stop that for a second, I wanna talk to you." He said as he pulled you up from your knelt position on the floor, he walked over to your bed and sat down, you stayed standing so he spoke again. "You're not talking to them?" "They wanted to let you die." You shrugged "I don't agree with that." "So you stopped talking to them?" He asked. "Mm." You hummed. "For me? Someone you met a couple of months ago, but you've known them all your lives?" He asked as he looked up at you trying to catch your eye. "Mm." You hummed again, this time you were actively trying to avoid his eyes and he smiled reaching out and holding your chin and finally making eye contact. "Why?" He asked. "You know why." You mumbled. "Well, I hope you do." "Hope I what?" He asked pulling you to straddle his waist squeezing where your hands rested on yours. "Do do that." You frowned. "Do what?" He asked. "That thing that you do because you know that your hot and that I like you." You glared and he smiled at you pulling you closer to him. "You can't keep ignoring them." He said softly. "Not because of me." "What would you have me do instead?" You asked. "Nothing, you need them to help get rid of the hunters, we couldn't do it on our own if we tried." He reminded you. "Fine but I'm not forgiving them for what they did." You warned him and he looked at you and nodded. "Alright, there is one other thing that we need to talk about before we go find them." He said softly and you looked at him and nodded. "What?" You asked. "Well, you are sitting on my lap right now." He reminded you "your lips are very close to mine." "Oh right um.." You tried to get up but he held on tighter. "I didn't want you to go anywhere." He eased you back to him. "I just want to know if you want more than this?" "More? Like official stuff?" You asked and he laughed. "Yeah, official stuff." He answered. "I'd like that." You smiled. "Good." He said pressing a short kiss to your lips, you chased after him but he nudged you back with his nose. "You get a better one when you patch things up with your friends." "Fine." You rolled your eyes standing up "let's go."

FMAB Fan Cast [Part 1/?]
“Quarantine” provided a time for me friends to finally force me to watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood AND too much time to think about how I would have adapted the Netflix movie differently. Among my many gripes includes a storyline that either did not [yet] include many of my favorite characters or barely fleshed them out. So, in my imagination where an international series of movies could be made, I present part 1 of my fancast, which is mostly focused on the military.
Colonel Roy Mustang — George Young
Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye — Brie Larson
Second Lieutenant Jean Havoc — Joe Anderson
Colonel Maes Hughes — Mark Fischbach
Second Lieutenant Maria Ross — Sonoya Mizuno
Solf J. Kimblee — Josh Stewart
Major Alex Louis Armstrong — John Cena
Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong — Gwendoline Christie
Catherine Elle Armstrong — Annalisa Cochran
Major Miles — Oscar Isaac
Captain Buccaneer — Rory McCann
Second Lieutenant Rebecca Catalina — Alexa Davalos
Izumi Curtis — Christina Chong
Sig Curtis — Cooper Andrews
Ling Yao/Greed reincarnate — Jake Choi
Lan Fan — Liu Yifei
Fu — Togo Igawa
Hohenheim/Father — Sean Bean
Young Hohenheim/Father — Lucas Till
I’ll link future parts here once I complete those. [Part 1] [Part 2]

Hi Gina, how are you? I don’t wanna ruin the mood but I’m new and am still searching things. I googled Nizam ‘cause some people commented he had been homophobic (at least in the past) but only found one site talking about it and unfortunately it was one connecting Louis and homophobic stuff. There were some thing about Louis bullying gay people at school, especially this Jake Armstrong guy. Of course I didn’t take it to heart but I wanted to see what was said about it (maybe the prints aren’t even real, I don’t know) and I didn’t find anything on your blog, at least by their names. You don’t need to talk about it again (if you did) I just wanted to know if you remember discussing it and if so what key-word could I use to search your blog. Thank you so much. (English is not my first language and I really hope I don’t come out as rude, I really just want to have all the information to form an opinion)
Hi sweetheart. You don't sound rude at all. I vaguely recall one person saying from Louis' school days youth saying that Louis bullied him and implying it was because he was gay, but nothing other than that. TBH, if Louis wasn't out in those days, I can imagine Doncaster not being the easiest place to be queer in the late 90s/early 2000s. He may have done it, or gone along with others who did it. Doesn't mean he didn't feel like shit, or didn't try to make amends. I honestly don't know anything more about it and I don't think I ever did discuss it here.
I believe Nizam made a comment at some point about hoping he didn't have any gay kids. But it wasn't recent and I don't know what's gone on since in terms of him apologizing to Louis or changing his way of thinking.

flex fighters deserves a bigger fanbase imo, it was such a good show and i swear it deserved a 3rd season so much. Hell you even got a badass female who, while serving as a love interest, actually has an interesting arc as a antagonist (not really but to the heroes in s1 she was, you’ll see what i mean if you watch it) who later becomes an ally It had good twists and like I honestly do think tumblr would have been all over rook as like the tumblr sexyman. Like sherlock? John? vilgax from ben 10? nah fam, rook is here
Tell me people wouldn’t legit simp for this mother fucker, i can just imagine all the x readers and rook’s sex dungeon jokes. Like come on tumblr missed the perfect fucking bandwagon to jump on when it comes to villains we constantly call sexy. I think the reason we honestly don’t see much rook smut is given the fact that a good majority of the cast is teenagers and all you really have to ship him with is kane (which tbh is a good ship as far as im concerned) or Cleo so i understand why we don’t see much rook centered shipping.
Better yet it had an honest to god pretty diverse cast for a cartoon seeing as a good few of the cast we see consistently is pretty diverse.
Nathan Park
Ricardo Perez
Jake Armstrong
Malcolm Kane
Riya Dashti
The cast aside i do think this series is most strongest in its second season as thats when shit really goes down but I do love season 1 as it set up every character perfectly and it really makes season 2 as good as it is as a result of that. I do think that each of the cast members are given pretty good motivation for what they do and that they’re not ignored for whatever character is given the most priority Ricardo struggles with parental and attachment issues as they’re constantly moving from place to place, unable to really bond with people at his schol as his parents business could easily take him to another school where he has to start over again. On Top of that his parents regularly cancel stuff as they’re busy Jake struggles with the death of his mother and how that pretty much made his dad sort of micromanage his life with a huge schedule and all that jazz as sort of like a way to cope. Nathan himself is arguably the most well put together as he grew up in a big family with plenty of siblings and a very loving grandfather so he had a more stable home in comparison to his two friend. Riya lost her parents and trained to become an assassin whereas Malcolm Kane sort of grew up in a gang ridden neighborhood and made his way out of that ( Only to become a tech man but thats a thing for another day ) so a lot of the characters have solid backstories and motivations I just hope this motivates tumblr or people at large to really check out this gem, it’s not quite hidden but not as popular as i’d like it to be

F2 2021 Lineups Prediction
Ok so I’ve had a photo of when I wrote these out saved into my phone but I think one of them has changed. Part of it is wishful thinking and another part is genuine belief (it was very difficult to leave some people out), and you can definitely tell the point where I just don’t know anymore lmao. Feel free to let me know what you think, or if you think other people will be elsewhere.
Prema - Oscar Piastri + Robert Shwartzman
I think Rob needs another year in F2 before he’s really ready for F1, and I really can’t see him going anywhere else but Prema, he’s been there for 3 years, and he seems to know everyone at the team and get on with them really well (especially Panda dad Rene). I can’t see them not taking on their F3 champion either, and although there are apparently discussions elsewhere, I also think Oscar will stay and make the step up with Prema next year. It just seems logical to me but there is an outside chance one of them will leave, but I don’t see it happening to be honest.
UNI-Virtuosi - Marcus Armstrong + Guanyu Zhou
If this happens, I think both me and @gyzhou-s will be requesting merch tbh. I hope and pray Marcus gets a seat where he can actually show what he can do, rather than just be left and fade into the background like this year, because we all know he isn’t a bad driver, and he’s better than what we’ve been seeing at ART. As much as I’d like to see him back at Prema, I don’t think it’ll happen, so UNI it will have to be. As for Zhou, I can’t see him going anywhere (especially since Renault are bitches and don’t look at their academy) so he’ll stay for another year too.
ART - Christian Lundgaard + Theo Pourchaire
I think this is a fairly obvious one. Again, personally I don’t see Christian leaving for any other team, and I can’t see ART wanting to get rid of Theo either, because he came very close to winning them the title in the last race in Mugello this year. I just think it’ll be interesting to see where the balance is because it’s 2 drivers who know the team well, but we all know ART’s track record with 2 talented drivers in their ranks....
DAMS - Nikita Mazepin + Dan Ticktum
Hahahahahaha. Am I having a laugh with this one? Probably. But could you seriously imagine if this happened lmao. Basically, I will never predict Mazepin to F1, even if it does eventually happen. So he has to stay in F2. He could stay at Hitech, but Jesus Christ would I love to see this lineup happen. Imagine if they took each other out for a race win, the radios we’d get. But yeah, Mazepin is purely wishful thinking, while I just think Ticktum and Dams sort of works quite well. Sorry for this sksjdjss
Charouz - Louis Deletraz + Pedro Piquet
I think this is the only one that doesn’t change at all which I have written down. Yeah, unless Haas actually call up Louis (which is unlikely let’s be honest) there is no reason for Charouz to change it.
Carlin - Logan Sargeant + Jehan Daruvala
So, Logan has raced for them before in F3, meaning he knows some of the team. And tbh, this is the only place I could see him other than Prema and now Rob looks set to stay in F2 for another year, I think this could happen. I think Jehan continuing could also happen, but I feel like that’s on him more than on the team, but I don’t think they’ll want to change too much, especially since Yuki could be on his way to Alpha Tauri as long as something doesn’t go wrong in Bahrain.
Hitech - Liam Lawson + Juri Vips
I wish I’d posted this before the actual rumour started, because I thought this about 2/3 weeks ago. I mean Liam has almost accidentally confirmed he’s doing F2 next year, and I think he’ll stay with Hitech, because that combination worked well last year. And Juri? We all want him in F2 don’t we? Hopefully Red Bull realise that they’ll keep shooting themselves in the foot if they don’t back their juniors, so I can see them helping him find a seat. Since he worked with Hitech in F3 and that pairing also worked well, I could see him returning there again.
HWA - Jake Hughes + Artem Markelov
Ok, I honestly do not know. I think Jake Hughes might have a season in F2 should be get the backing, because ultimately he deserves it, he’s just struggled with backing in the last few years. I also think it’s Markelov’s decision as to whether he continues racing here or not, and I just wish he wasn’t so far down the field as he is (honestly I recommend watching the 2017 season races because he was brilliant for Russian Time).
Trident - Lirim Zendeli + David Beckmann
Apparently Albania’s prime minister confirmed that Zendeli would be moving up to F2 next year. A bit random, and if anything it’s promoting nationalism, but I mean I’ll take his word for it I guess. I mean, he wasn’t exactly a bad for them last season, and he dominated the feature in Spa so it’s not a totally odd choice. Beckmann is the one that I’m not sure on. I think Nissans could keep this seat, especially since Beckmann is gonna be testing for F3 next week, but I think he deserves to move up as the slightly for consistent Trident driver last year.
MP Motorsport - Luca Ghiotto + Felipe Drugovich
I can’t see Drugovich leaving, that’s the starting point. I don’t think they’ll want to get rid of a 2-time race winner, especially when people have struggled with this car in the past. I think Ghiotto will continue racing here too, but he’ll just have to go to a team which is still developing rather than a team set up to win races, because a Red Bull might’ve claimed Hitech for the season.
Campos - Jack Aitken + Giuliano Alesi
I can’t see Jack racing in another series yet, but he really does deserve a competitive car. It’s the same for Giuliano, although I do struggle to figure out whether he struggles or if the car doesn’t help. I think this could be a solid line up if they sort the car out first.

Curtis Armstrong: “And the two of them...they have that unique-, not just chemistry, but an actual relationship.”
Travis A. Wade: “You have to keep them together. Like Jared and Jensen...Jensen would not do well missing Jared.”
Tahmoh Penikett: “It’s amazing how the universe works sometimes. It’s amazing that they’re as close as they are.”
Phil Sgriccia: “It’s all about Jared and Jensen’s relationship in real life and on the show.”
Bob. S: “Jared and Jensen clicked from the very beginning. They have a tremendous amount of love for each other.”
Lauren Cohan: “You know, they have such a...special relationship. I’m not sure I can-, you know...they’re just so close!”
Eric Kripke: “They fight for each other.”
Ruth Connell: “They spend more time together than any married couple.”
Shoshannah Stern: “Something in their faces lights up when the other one is around. It’s very endearing, considering they’ve seen each other for most days of the week for months on end for more than a decade.”
Adam Croasdell: “They’re a perfect pairing.”
Eric Kripke: “I would say right around episode four or five, Bob Singer and I were watching the episodes, and we just started saying, ‘God, those two guys and their chemistry is so much more interesting than the horror movies we’re showing. That’s when we started realizing that we should play to the strength of what’s right in front of us, which is these two amazing actors who have this unbelievable chemistry. And sure enough, now that’s more than anything what the show’s about.”
Jake Abel: “The show was originally supposed to run for five seasons. And they just keep going because they like each other so much. Imagine that! They live next to each other. Their kids play together. No one else has that.”
Jeremy Carver: “You can have all the monsters and werewolves and ghosts and everything. But if at the end of the day you’re not selling that core relationship, as these guys do, then there is no show.”
********************
“Chemistry is something you can’t manufacture. And these guys have it.”

Armstrong Redwoods is in danger of burning tonight. It's the most beautiful place you can imagine. To me, it's almost a spiritual place, especially since Jake was there about a week before he passed.

atwq book four thoughts
guess who somehow got a lot of free time yesterday and made the bold decision to finish reading the last atwq book? me!
guees who feels like they jinxed qwerty’s fate from the previous book of being arrested, but alive, even though i bet daniel handler planned it from the start? still me!
guess who is rather upset netflix accidentally gave a clue/spoiler on the identity of hangfire?
also me.
okay, so first off, to get something out of the way. i love this book. i really do. it had me on suspense every chapter.
theodora figured out qwerty was in vfd (...when did she figure out? not long after sharon reveal herself as a fake vfd member? or during the period she and lemony weren’t speaking to each other?), and god she really was willing to take the blame on being qwerty’s killer. did she think maybe she once again screw up, but this time there was no going back because the screw up got someone killed? after all she seem to selfishly went to break qwerty out for a good evaluation. maybe she thought if things went different, he would still be alive. and given the schism happened, vfd while not divided yet, this is like a sign on how another librarian’s death in the long, long future, will be blame on an innocent party and things go to hell again in the pursuit of justice and truth.
also, ghede and gifford also knew of the coup as well? or at least knew the sbg was doing something and they’re like let them do this shit and we can watch it’s gonna benefit us in the long run’. also, holy shit olaf name drop take two with beatrice herself! i didn’t think while knowing each other young mean they actually hanged out with one another to think they’re possibility friends. this puts the opera night even worse. beatrice must have knew olaf’s parents. with my headcanon of olaf parents being caring parents to olaf and used their connections to get their son back earlier than others, this is just awful.
getting back on track from the mess that is vfd there’s a murder on a train (agatha christie ahoy!). i admit several weeks ago i made the decision to watch snowpiercer and train to busan so i couldn’t really take the murder on the orient express shout out clearly and kept on thinking of the wild willy wonka and the chocolate factory/snow piercer theory. and zombies in south korea.
all the damn sbts kids just thought it great to share the one brain cell to be on the same train (pip and squeak just follow in their taxi; cleo and jake had to travel through time in the dilemma to catch up with them). ornette got her time to shine with her artistic/sculpting skills and there’s some light on the subject of the lost family (of course it’s a fire that took ornette’s mom life. fires seems to be a way to kill a lot of parents). i was right to call her gung-ho working with lemony, she just agreed to make fake bb statues for moxie and kellar and was like ‘oh shit the two are sharing a brain cell. hangfire could figure something is up what have i done’ and had to make something else to give to lemony. i uh..wonder if seth has a reason to draw her baseball cap all...fuzzy. just a weird question.
kellar’s sister lizzie shows up. i’m going to be honest. she has the bad luck of appearing last and under two disguises that went over my head (she sure fooled me!). i do have some thoughts that surround her and the haines family, but that needs me to re-read the last two books to make sure i’m not imagining something . will say lizzie is much younger and shorter than i thought given her first illustration. i hope maybe a re-read will make me get some new insight on her. also, hi sally murphy. i’m glad lizzie got out with maybe your help (i mean, why else would she want to high tail it out of there).
the identity of qwerty’s killer was something i should have seen coming due to how the mitchum parents are more subdue. i want to slap stew’s parents. they spend all their time bickering they only got their shit together to see how their ‘precious’ son is really a bully and killer and working with the villian under their damn noses. i almost feel sorry for them because shit stew more or less blackmail his parents into covering the crime but at the same time...this call could have been avoid if you pay attention to how your son isn’t the angel you think he is..and you two are still fighting with one another please get your priorities straight i beg you. i admit i almost want to slap stew but i don’t slap kids, and i think if i exist in the snicket world i would get murder first by him.
qwerty’s death and the fact he’s a vfd member just hurt me so bad and i’m still kind of grieving over him. for one, i felt like i should have seen qwerty being part of vfd coming. he’s a sub-librarian. while not a sub-sub-librarian, the fact is qwerty is such so damn helpful to lemony i should have seen he was just doing his best to help lemony because theodora wasn’t honestly...wasn’t doing a good job at a chaperone. but he couldn’t blow away his cover because he wasn’t supposed to interfere in the apprenticeship and honestly he was just happy to be a sub-librarian helping children find what they would love reading.
but qwerty isn’t the only death in this book. i got to copy-paste something from an old atwq post in feburary 8, something i made as a joke, because oh boy, this part is the one negative i have honestly.
he tried to pretend to be her father! i know his voice mimicry is basically akin to juni cortez’s mimicry, but this is just cruel had ellington been there.
about a week later, i made the decision to rewatch netflix asoue. now, the first time i watch season two [edit lmao i actually don’t remember if it was season two i think i hated season two so much i could have blur two and three together i got to rewatch the show again definitely. edit two: okay, i’m certain it was season two i’m 98% certain it was was a pause and read easter egg that’s why i couldn’t remember what season exactly damn easter eggs] i honestly was like ‘so they gave nero a last name. coolio. feint isn’t a surname i was expecting but this is the netflix show this probably isn’t canon to the books’.
on the rewatch, after the austere academy part two ended, i realized something is...off, with nero now. he’s mocking people. and his voice, while not mimicking them, is like...it’s like nero could have inherit mimicry from someone but it never went through. or maybe he did got it but it’s not at its full potential without the proper teaching of someone with the skill...like a father, perhaps?
so the kronk meme is playing in my mind, but it’s the edit of him saying ‘oh no, it’s all coming together’. and given patrick warburton also voice kronk, it felt more like lemony snicket decided to materialize right behind me, be an asshole, and thought it funny to do a commentary on my possible realization hangfire, in the netflix show at least, couldn’t keep his dick in his pants and bore a bastard son in an adulterous affair and ellington has a half brother in the world she doesn’t know about and i hope she never learns about.
(given barrymore feint is just a cameo of barry sonnenfeld, i guess the bullshit gene i talked about in another post regarding a theory who netflix!h is should be renamed the feint gene.)
so reading the third book, and especially this book, i kept a close eye on any mentions to ellington’s dad and hangfire’s behavior. i kept on saying in my mind ‘please don’t be who i think you are’. and bam. armstrong feint is hangfire. i feel like if netflix didn’t have the need to make an atwq reference in nero’s surname, and if i was smart enough to have the book clues smack me in the face (i feel there are clues somewhere, and hangfire dropped all pretenses and just being ‘himself’ in book two was one), i wouldn’t be so angry and upset by this reveal. i more or less got spoil and put the pieces together due to an adaptation, and i should have known better than to do a re-watch while reading atwq. i should have consider the possibility of easter eggs to atwq.
anyway, lemony snicket thought it great to kill hangfire by feeding him to a copy bombinating beast (the tadpoles!!). with ellington right freaking there. with most of his sbts friends there to witness. moxie can’t even look lemony in the eye anymore (no more best friends anymore). everything happened just like that and after finishing the book and taking a walk around the living room, i have to say hangfire is a good villain. he achieved his goal of getting the bombinating beast, even if it’s a copy. he’s a very competent villain who succeed in almost every book in some way or form. he played everyone like a puppet and was a threat that is more akin to tmwabbnh and twwhbnb’s level of villainy. kudos to you hangfire i’m impressed.
hangfire totally got it coming too. however, i do feel...hurt in his death, if only for ellington’s sake. during the walk because i realize ellington reminded me of a character from a different fandom i’m in. there’s some differences that i won’t get into (it’s...complicated for the other fandom), but they’re cut from almost the same cloth: teenage girls with shitty fathers who are using them for their own selfish goals. thoughts for ellington and her future formed faster for me than for the other atwq kids as a result:
post-canon!ellington (a few days later when she finally gets her stuff figure out), has a simple list. 1: avoiding anyone with a vfd tattoo or give shady lemon vibes -ellington split asap after she and kit broke out and have 100% certainly no one is after them, but not before stealing some things from kit, one being notes of vfd volunteers (she thinks). 2: find a new place to live. 3: figure out a new name that isn’t an anagram, because the inhumane society once they heard the news, is probably going to try to get her if they get wind she is hangfire’s daughter and possible ‘successor’. ellington wants nothing to do with the bombinating beast. she never wants to see the statue or anything similar, or hear the words again.
adult!ellington (under a fake name of course), while accepting all that happened, hasn’t forgive lemony snicket. yes, her dad was a villain. yes, she finally understand her dad isn’t the kind naturalist and man, and used her for the biggest ‘what’ event of her life that is also a very selfish goal. many times in the past though, ellington wonders if she missed any signs of her dad’s descend to who he eventually became, or if he hid it very well to where he was wearing two masks all this time, one hiding his true nature. ellington even wonders at one point, dad was going convince her to willingly work with him without the fake kidnapping and had to change his plans to something crueler.
ellington will never know for sure. this is why ellington can’t forgive lemony and will say it to face if they ever meet again. what ellington hates the most out of her father’s death is that she can never tell dad all of her feelings about his wrong doings. she can ask all the questions burning at the back of her mind, or yell her frustrations how terrible a father he is for faking his kidnapping and getting her to do his dirty work, getting her to use her loyalty of family to do things she would never do under normal circumstances. she ask questions and yells at the only photo left of armstrong feint...
and in the end, she knows he’ll never answer, and it hurts to deal with the unknown. adult!ellington doesn’t do the yelling and questioning to the photo as much. partly because she did ‘settle’ on what might be an possible answer, but mostly because the photo is pretty faded to where it’s less ‘armstrong feint’ and more ‘hangfire’. once in awhile though, she slips up like old times.
adult!ellington with her new life (she travels a lot, pays in cash most of the time, and has no set resident; she still love coffee) tends to think of the past, especially when it came to what she had with lemony snicket. did lemony like her? was she just a question in need of solving? ellington admits to possibly liking him, but it was so long ago maybe she just thinks she liked him to have a ‘positive’ memory of the boy she haven’t seen in years that she kind of wants to see again, if only to yell at him for robbing her of something important. his name lands on her radar a lot, twice from the daily punctilio. the first one was learning of lemony snicket’s crimes, and it was an accident.
the second time, she learn of his death, though she read the daily punctilio on purpose in hopes of a name drop. adult!ellington ended up finding some children’s book, and made the mistake of going to the back of it and find a photo of lemony snicket. not really though. lemony is hiding his face (ellington hates it) and she buys it to know what it’s about. it spiral to where she bought the next two books because she wants to know if the baudelaires orphans are real (and because lemony doesn’t seem the same anymore from his writings). ellington settles on real when she pulls out kit snicket’s notes she stolen and cross references names, and even travels to the locations to them to make sure. after the third book publication, the series goes on ‘hiatus’ due to the daily punctilio and their announcement. ellington doubts he’s dead, but couldn’t help attend the funeral. ellington is certain lemony snicket is alive, because she convinced she saw him at his own funeral.

Jake Armstrong X Reader
Word Count: 856
Requested: Anon
Request: You're in love with Jake Armstrong and he got caught double crossing but reader didn't want him to get in trouble so she lies saying she stopped him even though no one knew who reader was, Jake was furious cause she wasn't suppose to know anything about his dirty work but she found out cause she was following him etc. Idk lots of arguments, worry and cute fluff. Reader is human.
You loved Jake, you really did but you knew that he was hiding something the moment that he walked back into Chance Harbour, you had been friends with him before he left and despite the fact that you hadn't really spoken to him since you still considered yourself his friend and he obviously still considered you his because you were one of the first people that he tracked down when he got back. Since then you spent a lot of time together and that was what clued you in on him, there were times when he would get phone calls and his whole body language would change so that was when you decided to follow him. What you found you were not expecting, he was meeting with Witch Hunters and while you didn't know how to talk to him about all of this you were covering his tracks for him, he thought he was pretty good but there were some things that he hadn't counted on and you were there to pick up the pieces for him.
Now like mentioned before Jake thought that he was pretty good at what he did so when he decided that he was going to double-cross the witch hunters you knew that it wasn't going to end well, you had followed him again that night and it took a little time for you to realise what he was doing and figure out how you were going to get him out of the situation that he was about to put himself in but you didn't have much time when they finally spoke: "Jake you wouldn't be lying to me would you?" They asked and you knew that you had to move quickly. "Jake your witchy teens have taken a wrong turn." You said as you appeared around the door frame. "And you are?" The man you assumed led them asked. "An old friend, I often have to set Jake straight." You answered with a shrug. "And witches have made my town a mess." "That doesn't answer my question who are you?" He asked. "(Y/N)." You answered. "That doesn't really matter though what does matter is that I've knocked those teens off your scent for a little while longer." "Why would you do that? How did you know that we were here?" He asked. "Because as much as Jake likes to think he's got it all under control, I let you in on a secret I've got it under control, the moment that he came back I knew that there was something going on and he had no idea that I was covering his tracks for him." You explained. "So I propose this... I help Jake get rid of the witches in Chance Harbour and you give us 3 weeks to do it." "3 weeks?" He asked. "We can get rid of them in 3 weeks." You nodded, he looked at you for a second before looking at Jake. "You trust her?" He asked. "Yes." Jake nodded. "I hope for your sake that your trust is well placed." He said before waving his hand for you both to leave "3 weeks." He said as you left.
Jake didn't say anything until he was sure that you were far enough away and that meant you'd been in the car for at least half an hour "what the hell were you doing here?" He asked. "Saving you." You answered. "You weren't supposed to be a part of all of this!" He argued his hands raised off the wheel for a second. "Well, I'm a witch, if you were going to kill on the witches in town that included me." You reminded him. "They just wanted the circle dead." He reminded you and you looked at him. "Why did you agree to this Jake?" You asked. "I just wanted to know what happened to my brother." He answered. "You should have just come back and asked I would have helped you." You said. "I didn't want you anywhere near this." He repeated and you looked at him. "There was no way that I wasn't going to find out about this Jake." You said softly "isn't it better to have someone to trust with you." "I just want you safe" He answered and you nodded. "I will be because we're going to go and talk to the youngsters and then we're going to make a plan." You said and he sighed one of his hands coming over the centre console to hold yours. "You haven't changed." He finally said and you looked at him. "Neither of you, your still impulsive and stupid and my entire world." You shrugged, he looked at you and smiled. "And your still mine." He informed you. "Well then let's fix it so that you can take me out on a proper date." You suggested. "That's harder than you think." He sighed. "I know but this time we're going to make a bitter plan then walk in there and wing it." You said and he squeezed your hand. "I hope so." He said and you smiled. "We will." You reassured him.
