Okay, another question. What do you think about the idea that after even Greed is removed from Ling, either in canon or AU, that Ling is still at least kinda weird physically. The idea being the Philosopher’s Stone in process of deconstructing and re-constructing his body did maybe leave sone lasting effects. Like idk maybe he has slit pupils and fangs, maybe his metabolic issues aren’t bad, maybe he is sterile, etc.

I LOVE permanently altered ling... how did you read my mind. Ik Ling pretty explicitly says he's going to abolish the "kid from each clan" set up in Xing... but it's really interesting to think about if he can't do it and his sterility becomes a problem. Doubtful that he'd be overthrown but I think if/by the time Greed comes back, public opinion of Ling is Not Excellent. On top of all of Ling's other issues (like his inability to grieve normally) political unrest is the rotten cherry on the moldy cake. And if you know me you know I LOVE making this guy suffer. (And I love when Greed shows up post-canon and picks up his pieces. It's Ling's turn to be put back together <3)

I also just like the idea of him/greedling being somewhat unsettling looking ☺️ I hc Ling already had sharp-ish teeth before the possession but now they're unignorable fangs. Add some slitted or reflective pupils to that and you've got one Critter-like fellow!!
