I think it would be hilarious if when Ed and Al joined team Mustang they just assumed Roy and Riza were married and like one day much to their confusion and sadness they find out they're not and the rest of Team Mustang has to be like we don't really get it either

Falman: What do you mean? It's Hawkeye. Riza Hawkeye.

Alphonse: What

Falman: H-A-W-K-E-Y-E, R-I-Z-A

Edward: Wait, I thought that was her nickname since she's the top sniper, "The Hawk's eye"

Fuery: Yeah, but her last name is also coincidently "Hawkeye."

Havoc: Honestly, that's probably where the name came from. The officials at the military academy aren't that creative.

Alphonse: So, is that why she kept her last name?

Havoc: What do you mean?

Edward: Why she didn't take the colonel bastard's last name?

Alphonse: Yeah, it could be confusing to have a Lieutenant Mustang and Colonel Mustang

Headcanon of the day

When Roy and Riza first start seeing each other, Rebecca is not exactly supportive. It seems to her as though Colonel Matchstick has been stringing her best friend along for years, and she doesn't trust him to give up his philandering ways.

Slowly, over the years they develop a begrudging respect for each other.

Eventually, they become family---they still fight like brother and sister, and their bickering drives Riza crazy, but there's affection beneath it. They both love Riza, and her well-being is the one thing they can always agree on.

“We have a joint operation up in Central next month, so that's something to look forward to I guess,” Riza says.

“Don't sound so excited,” Rebecca says, savoring a sip of coffee with a bite of dessert. “There's lots to like about Central – the food, at the very least. Even if you don't have time for shopping you have to eat. Don't let Mustang force you to eat at the cafeteria or get food from the commissary for every meal or I will personally kill him."

I didn't do my masterpost in 2023, but this year I decided to take the time to do so!

This was a very Jaime/Brienne year, with many exchanges, but I'm happy that I wrote some FMA fics (all of Royai week!), and even a Faramir/Eowyn one-shot along the way.

I'm kind of sad that I haven't made covers for everything I wrote this year, but I'm still pretty satisfied with what I've done!
