Ma’am.#If your 24 year old daughter won’t fold her laundry to this day #How do you think this method is going to work out for your 13 year old daughter when she grows up?#I observe that with lots of chores her method has merely instilled guilty avoidance on the part of my siblings #(And to a lesser extent myself as well)#Because guess what!#associating cleaning with guilt for not doing it #AND more guilt during the process #AND further guilting for not doing it sooner once it’s actually been done—#None of that has created a consistent cleaning ethic in any of her children!!#There is no love for tidiness #Only guilt and apathetic despair at its absence #With complete aversion for the work of tidying based on years of shaming #I’ve had to do so much relearning in how I think about and practice tidiness #And most of it’s come from advice on here actually #anyway #pray for my family please #Thanks

Since that gothic anthy piece I've been thinking about a whole gothic rgu au... I'd really have to dig in deeper into indian-british history in order to develop this further (and to dress everyone more accurately) but I'm tentatively placing this in the 1830s... Akio could be an indian nobleman who worked with/for the east india company... Maybe did some shady stuff for it and was rewarded with a lavish mansion in the uk... Utena is some plucky orphaned girl who becomes his protégé... Anthy is the woman hidden away in the attic... But utena glimpses her at night... Mrs rochester core...

there's Some things that i don't completely agree with personally, like attributing the Third sin to Materialism rather than Connection (i'd argue that the Ancients had no big issue with being materialistic, considering their golden attires and such- and that going with Connection overall better addresses both the core of Materialism and relationships overall) and then attributing the word Dynasty specifically to asian cultures but that's more history/word definition beef more than anything djgklsjlcgjkd

the way storytelling functions in tabletop games strikes me as very rich ground for folklore tellings. the role of teller is already an active one, full of decisions; the same basic story can and will be told wildly differently depending on audience, cultural context, intent, personal outlook, et cetera. i am reminded of angela carter's recollection of her childhood experience with immersive telling: "my maternal grandmother used to say, 'lift up the latch and walk in,' when she told it to me when i was a child; and at the conclusion, when the wolf jumps on little red riding hood and gobbles her up, my grandmother used to pretend to eat me, which made me squeak and gibber with excited pleasure." translating that to the collaborative storytelling format of a role-playing game feels like a return to oral tradition in a lot of ways. life COULD be a dream!
