We were out at the mall with the hosts partner, who is also apart of a system. And while talking to a worker, the worker did something and said "oh I'm so stupid, my bad"

And the hosts partner just responds so casually with "oh we're both alter systems, so we've got plenty of stupidity to go around don't worry about it" and gestures between us and them.

It seems so small but it scared us so badly that we ended up in a very painful dissociative state the rest of the day.

If you can be casual about your system to strangers that's great. But never assume that other systems are the same way, regardless of how open they are with you about it.

ok so i have some Tobirama thoughts cuz i watch Naruto rn and over analyzing everything

but whatever i need this character study to get my characterisation of him straight.

So basically I just thinking over what an ass Tobirama is towards the Uchiha clan

and a disclaimer: i love Tobirama he's my fav, I just want to understand him better and PLEASE share your own opinions too! i feel like im making a whole paper on him or smth

Tobirama was basically "I separated Uchiha in their own compound from the main cast of the village and ordered them to make a police force (and everyone knows how people "love" cops, especially in military settlement) not because I hate them. They're just dangerous and prone to mental instability (thinking of Madara much? Dude if ppl feel love intensely, and you don't, it fucking doesn't mean they're mentally ill). But I know some good Uchiha (Kagami who was under his command?? and Itachi who massacred the whole clan for the village????) so I don't hate Uchiha."

Like okay, he doesn't hate hate them, but he IS prejudged af. As much as I like to read stories where he isn't like this and kinda more forgiving, in canon he is an ass.

And honestly it makes sense for Tobirama to be like that (I'm not defending him, I'm just trying to lay his thought process down). Like he fought with Uchiha for most of his life and he doesn't have pink glasses on his nose like Hashirama. He knows they're dangerous and he learned to mistrust them since they're enemy.

And he has his own theories about Sharingan, but basically he thinks that bitches are so sensitive, they can't handle a little hurt and loss.

I honestly think that he's wrong, like I think Sharingan awakens by high levels of stress (maybe cortisol levels shoot up suddenly?) Tobirama is only one man who tried to understand that and he barely interreacted with Uchiha personally.

Ok i just found this but bitch really came up with this theory based on rumors. Dude, please stop spreading misinformation.

Though we don't know their medical progress at this point, so maybe he really didn't know? Like he didn't have enough medical knowledge to get this theory straight. He has his special interest in making jutsu and you don't need to know people well enough. You just need to know how to kill them effectively.

Also, dude, if you (or maybe Senju in general) don't react as strong as the Uchiha, it doesn't mean they're mentally ill or cursed.

Oh and Tobirama thinks he's done GOOD for Uchiha. I mean his brother thinks it's slight for the Uchiha to get separated, living near prison and being avoided by village since they're the police force, but for Tobirama it's a job well done cuz it helped the village. He's a practical man who doesn't even think about feelings like that.

I think with Konoha he kinda played the game like SimSity but IRL. Optimised and used the resources he had to do the best working village. You don't think about sims' feelings when you make them pay higher taxes or make them live near dumpster just cuz you think it's okay and they will manage, right?

Before it was his brother to care for this kind of stuff. But then he died (how the fuck btw? I hc it was a disease but damn in some timelines he died when he was like 42 but damn WHAT could've killed The God of Shinobi) and Tobirama stayed alone. I assume his family wasn't much help and they had a 1st war near, so Tobirama had to work fast and efficient.

I think Tobirama was also offended at Madara since he tried to destroy the village he put a lot of work into (lets be real, Tobirama doing most of administrative work is basically canon, not a headcanon, it sits way too right)

Plus I think Tobirama like many people was impressed + scared of Madara. Like he's crazy strong and ofc you're afraid, I get it. But Madara is an exception, not the rule. He's just a freak of nature + I think being Indra reincarnation had its influence too. It's not the whole Uchiha clan, but Tobirama judges them like he'd judge Madara.

Maybe he's a bit paranoid. Understandable since being a ninja and it's what keeps you alive, but this lack of trust really showed through all of the history between Tobirama and Uchiha clan.

Okay maybe hc territory, but I think Tobirama doesn't get emotions much in general. He's very autistic coded and, being on the spectrum myself, I can get where he's coming from. I trained my empathy cuz not having one is considered wrong. Tobirama probably didn't cuz no one told him to or he didn't consume this type of content in his childhood (i trained myself by cartoons lol). He cares, but he doesn't get feelings and makes these kinds of theories, based on rumors (damn dude fact check please).

Maybe since he doesn't get emotions much he's used to depend on other people in this regard? Like people start saying these rumors and he watches himself and is like "Yeah that seems possible" especially since Madara got his big drama time about Izuna. He has big feelings = has strong Sharingan. It is plausible.

I dont think Tobirama wanted to check it for sure, since 1) WHO will let the White demon near their precious eyes to help him understand how they work; 2) it's not his point of interest. he had village to run, jutsu to make, kids to teach. the bitch was busy and it's only 24 h/day

Okey when he'd first out, he'd be confused asf because he genuinely doesn't know what's ADHD so he'd question you about it if you're comfortable enough. I swear he doesn't mean bad if he'd question you, it's just he genuinely doesn't know and if it's serious, he can't help you if he doesn't know, right?

He'd still search up about it in Google to get detailed explanation with its symptoms, causes and treatment.

He'd be very understanding about it, he'd try to be understanding and supportive. Tho he's not exactly the greatest when it comes to dealing with mental health issues, he'd try his best with you.

Usually, if somebody were to interrupt him mid-sentences then he'd be very annoyed but, again, he'll be understanding with you. If you'd interrupt him, he'd just go silent and start listening to you.

He'll tell you it's okey if you'll be guilty about interrupting him. He knows you aren't doing it because you're rude, so don't worry, he completely understands you.

Many people with adhd tend to have little or no sense of danger so he's here to protect you and help you out!

Honestly, he also misplaces and forgets where he puts his stuff sometimes, that's why he has Emma. He wouldn't be much of a help with things like that but he would search with you.

He doesn't have a problem with repeating what he said and wouldn't make you feel stupid or deaf just because you couldn't catch his words. (I need him irl)

Of course he'd be frustrated sometimes, like when you'd interrupt him a lot, or maybe when you're speaking and jumping from topic to topic. I mean, he's also human and ofc he'd be frustrated at some things but he'd try his best to don't show it.

If he accidentally were to make you feel like a burden or something, he'd genuinely be so guilty and would try to make up with you. He'd be guilty because he has no right to be frustrated with you for something you can't control, and he knows that it's a lot harder for you to deal with yourself than it is for him.

When you're hyperactive and like can't sit still, especially in quiet surroundings, he'd take you somewhere else, somewhere where you can be hyperactive freely.

He has noticed many times how you zone out of conversations and before he'd know that zoning out was one of the symptom of ADHD, he'd thought that you disliked when he was talking about something. He realised how stupid he was for thinking like that after learning more about the disorder. He genuinely doesn't know what to do when you zone out tho, like is it okey if he'll snap your out of it or should he just wait until you'll snap out of it on your own? He genuinely doesn't know which one is better option so he ends up going quiet.

He'd be overprotective of you ngl, since as I said, you have little or no sense of danger and he'd never forgive himself if you ever get hurt because of his lack of attention. He'd be quick to blame himself if that happens.

I swear he'd gladly beat someone up if they point out symptoms. Like if someone said "Didn't I already give you instructions?! How many times do I have to repeat myself?!" he'd genuinely be annoyed by that person and would immediately jump in the conversation and say "just repeat one more time. It's not that hard." and etc.

He'd be soo happy when he'll see the progress, even if it's small thing such as zoning out less, being able to focus easier or not forgetting things that you usually do. He'd genuinely be so happy!

i can understand peoples thinking, cause swk is pretty univerally (these days) considered a good guy with a bad past, so i can understand ppl wanting to turn that on its head and ask 'what if he wasnt so good?' cause that trope happens in pretty much every fandom and story retelling ever, no matter how loved or hated the character is

i think some people take it too far in claiming swk is the bad guy, but i also think people sometimes take it too far saying hes always trying his absolute best. theres things he needs to work on and refuses to, but also his motives are almost universally good. and he DOES do a lot of good things

i think hes really interesting because, character-wise, swk falls into the trope of 'old retired mentor' and these characters are usually presented as wise; with an unquestionable reason for every decision, even if that involves sending children off to war or some shit. i usually see the fandom hating these characters bc irl that would be a fucking awful thing to do, and the mentor usually receives no judgment, continues to be in charge, and presented as correct (sometimes to the point that the episode plot doesn't even make sense, just so that it can prove the young mentored characters wrong)

swk fills in this role at the start, but the more the show goes on, the more hes actually presented as not fully knowing whats going on, or how to fix it. people call him out for putting others in danger, and as he realises the decision he made was wrong, or could have been made differently, he stops following the 'master is always right' trope (which is fun considering his own masters methods, which are presented as correct in context, but when brought forward to modern ethics, are more questionable)

hes not perfect. not always trying his absolute best, but hes definatly not the bad guy, in my opinion, hes mostly presented as just. guy. hes tired. hes just a monkey. he doesnt have all the answers. hes trying to do something, and sometimes it turns out for the best, other times he should have bit the bullet and talked things out

i think people need to accept the nuanced take of 'what if he wasnt completly good or bad, and even though hes generally a good guy, he still makes mistakes that fuck stuff up'

that doesnt deserve hate, that makes him an interesting character

I feel like it is a little reductive to dismiss Lestat's presentation as something that's been done before, considering that in an international scale attacks on queerness are growning pretty fast. Drag being criminalized is one of those issues. I don't know if it is just the way in which I like to interpret the show or what, but to me what makes its representation so good is that it shows many ways to be queer and never sets a bar for what is and isn't enough to be considered queer. Louis, Lestat, Claudia, Daniel, Madeleine, Jonah, Armand, Santiago, etc, are all just as queer as the other is regardless of circumstances. I do wish it was discussed like that in the fandom though, because it's true that people are focusing too much of this conversation on Lestat only. And not even in an interesting way, like discussing how a queer man can benefit from patriarchy, how a queer man can be an abuser, how a queer white man in a relationship with a black man can be racist, etc. I get the ✨slay queen✨ appeal Lestat has and I don't think it's necesarily wrong, but stopping at that is so shallow. People could be getting so much more from this show

I see this logic used a lot in fandom spaces and I'm not sure what the point is tbh. is sam reid an actual drag queen? is sam reid in danger of being targeted by these attacks? is he using this role to talk about that and bring awareness to it?? are any of the cast and crew out about being queer, trans, drag queens, w/e?? that's not to say anyone "owes" us their personal lives but to point out that there's plenty of ppl who *are* out doing this shit fr and who need support instead. but they don't get it bcuz ppl think watching a tv show and creating fan work from it is activism. white ppl are also not the most at risk for these things happening irl either, it will always be black and brown ppl targeted, harassed, and killed first (largely without any public recognition either). commenting on a white guy in drag is not dismissing that whole existence, it's commenting on centering whiteness when it comes to everything queer. even if louis or armand wore an outfit like that within the show, it wouldn't get the same attention as white lestat doing it has. they could wear it for a whole episode and it still wouldn't compare in terms of fandom attention to those few seconds lestat gets.

anyway, ia with the rest of ur ask and there's srsly so much to explore that we haven't bcuz fandom at large keeps shutting it down. a lot of ppl find many of these topics too uncomfortable to address, maybe even too much of a mirror of things they need to unlearn about themselves, so it's easier to ignore it and tell everyone else to ignore it too. and this is why so much infighting continues, bcuz nobody's addressing any of the conflict. everyone's like "we're not gonna be like our parents!!" and then does exactly that anyway.

I believe the first "proshipping" term was orginated from the term "pro-life" and "anti-censorship", which mean you can ship whatever the hell you want as long as you can: differentiate the real life and the online world, acknowledged that all of couples/characters you ship are pixel characters and doesn't equate nor relate anything in real life, and all of the kinks and fics and fantasies you see on the internet are imagination, it does not judge the morality of a normal human.

Proshipping used to go with the term for a long time, especially in asia fandom culture, i think, until the western fandom culture adapt it and decide to change the term "proshopping" to "problematic shipping" because of the puritan belief, the belief of "educating pornagraphy" and the mindset of equating online pesonality same with real life moral standard ( means if you ship incest, means you support incest irl, which actually is against of what original "proshipping" term stated ). And it got too much popular and out of hand that it overlap the original term of "proshipping"

This have led to nowadays that people will harass anyone saying they are proshippers, apart from it, still lots of fandoms and fans try to bring back the orginal of proshipping term. I think this is all i can explain, as an asian fan who participate multiple of culture fandoms and have been in asia culture fandom for very long times. lmk if you wanna know more

im sorry to be harsh but if you make f/o imagines about any serious irl events or tragedies i don't want you to interact with me. i understand people have good intentions but it's horrifying to see someone take devastating things happening to real people right now in real life, and put them into fiction in some cute support way. its not fictional, and should not be treated as such.

if you need a way to cope with what is happening, then this is not how you do it. This is not the right way to cope, nor is it a good way to show your support. there's places to donate to or support to give to people in other ways besides a fictional prompt. It's hard times and I get it - our f/os bring us comfort. But now is not the time for comfort through fictional prompts inspired by the irl situation. Now is the time to focus on the irl people who are affected, or at least to find and create prompts that aren't based on current events.

tl;dr please stop making selfship imagines based on serious, tragic, and or dangerous irl situations, whatever those situations may be. the events aren't fictional, and there is better ways to deal with your feelings and to support others.

i know there's a lot of weight ppl feel to make their self inserts very like gender conforming but in the end I feel, as someone who makes so many s/is who look feminine or use different pronouns despite being trans men or at least masc leaning, that you should just have fun with your designs no matter what. like. I don't like dresses irl, they make me extremely dysphoric and upset...But I love putting them on my s/is, masculine or feminine appearing or even androgynous etc. so i do that. similarly, i only like he/him in real life, but whos gonna stop me from making she/her trans men? nobody. people could try, but fuck those people because its all pretend and is a good way to explore identity. I also have SO much more fun making "feminine" characters than I do masc, and I feel my s/have more life when I don't force a masculine look. but im still a trans man, my s/i is still a trans man, etc. selfship is about being free to explore yourself and also your funky little characters you feel so strongly for, who would accept you no matter what. be free

tl;dr pronouns and clothing and stuff are fake design your s/is how you want and what feels fun and comfortable for you whether or not it appliesto your irl self

yknow I was gonna post a long incoherent rant here, but I'll just say that as someone who's worked outdoors and had to filter my own water, under the supervision of trained/lifelong professionals, as someone who almost majored in this stuff, as someone who currently works closely with the MOST "radical" of water rights activists (not on this issue, we just run in the same circles), and as someone with a basic understanding of the water cycle and the ability to look outside and observe reality

how "dangerous" are these chemicals and what exactly do they do? has this been proven to affect wildlife in any way? are these chemicals present in drinking/tap water right now? "a study" seems like a reliable source, but that isnt always the case, especially re: "studies" used in headline news. I'm not in the statistics field, is there anyone who is who could tell us more about the "study" linked in the first article?

there are lots of things that are scary in the world, and many if not most of them ARE caused by human evil. before ppl reading this post spiral, think about what context is missing.

and, HUGE red flag for me: why is the first reblog someone feeling outraged and saying they need to protest and that they feel powerless/dont know what to do.... and the second reblog is OP, with a comic of a person being handed a gun.

I'm not anti-science. I'm DEFINITELY not "anti-leftist" or "anti-anarchist". I work regularly in radical leftist spaces irl and know people who are on domestic terrorist watchlists for their activism in Land Back and water rights movements. These spaces are the most hopeful, freeing, and welcoming places, and yes, anger IS present there, rage IS present there.

but what neither the "facts" as presented in this post, or the reactions encouraged here, are present in those spaces. so. yeah

a major bridge in my home city practically disintegrated this morning when a cargo boat crashed into one of the legs and now im just sad and really homesick

i have a lot of thoughts and don't want to say too much on my facebook so

i hated driving on that bridge, i hated being on bridges at all but not because that particular one was unsafe or anything, however watching how fast it fell into the river makes me feel like it was in fact unsafe. baltimore is a historic port city, built on a huge bay thats fed into by an equally huge river, this bridge was one of two that are essential for traffic in and out of the city unless coming in by boat or something

besides, the thing was iconic. and named over a historic figure that we're actually quite proud of having as a local. a lot of cityscapes were taken with this bridge in it and i dont know a local who doesn't travel on it rather frequently.

baltimore is one of the most dangerous cities in the usa. i know a lot of people don't think too highly of it, many of my own family included. but i love baltimore

if you ask me, baltimore is one of the best places to go. there are awesome music and concert venues, the food made at local restaurants cant be beat, and the museums are absolutely everything. the last time i was there was last fall to see queen+adam lambert which was absolutely fucking amazing

im just feeling a little sad for my home city. i wasn't raised there, being a bit of a smalltown country brat, but i lived there as an adult before moving abroad and have so many good memories there

if you know me irl, i know i can talk shit about baltimore and tell people not to go there without a local or at least an itinerary (just don't look lost, okay? ppl everywhere prey on that shit) but most of us are good, nice people who'll give the shirt off their backs if you ask. but we all joke about it because its coping, you know? like, when trxmp called us a disgusting city of rats or whatever it was, we all leaned into that hard. you can still buy tshirts and misc souvenirs of baltimore rats. hell, one of my favorite shirts has baltimore under the reading rainbow with the tagline theres more than just m*rder here. that shits funny okay?

baltimore had enough struggles to deal with, we didn't need this too. and i know, other places are experiencing worse. but this sucks too. on top of a scary election year, a horrifying political landscape, and increasing christocentrism, antisemitism and all the other stupid ways we look to harm each other, now we have this "mass casualty event", six people still missing in the patapsco, and a hugely damaged local infrastructure, part of a national infrastructure that honestly should be upgraded everywhere, now and not when things actually collapse and people die.

baltimore is a nice place and i will die on this hill. i hope they can rescue the missing people safely and everyone can recover well, healthily, and safely.

keeping my baltimore in my heart, mind, and prayers and hoping we can get an answer to what exactly happened to cause this.

This is some ancient discourse but I was reading an old post about the dangers of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl fantasy and it drove home a capacity in which a lot of discourse selects for like, the types of people best able to position themselves as discoursemakers

The take being relayed was from Laurie penny, who has a history of being romantically pursued as a MPDG. And she was complaining that like, to be valued as a MPDG is an expectation of a certain constant performance, a kind of emotional labour, in which she was expected to put on the façade of the mpdg over the duration of an entire relationship. And once that unsustainable performance began to falter, there was a sense from the other party she was letting them down on her end. Which is a recipe for a draining sort of romantic burnout

Anyway I obviously don’t doubt this is a very real problem LP faces but like. I have known mpdg’s irl? And this does not describe the kinds of problem that seem characteristic of their lives? My stereotype of the mpdg is that they continue to exude a dispositional chaotic presence long after it has worn its novelty for any pursuers, and that it disinhibits them from precarious situations less effervescently and charismatically random people either know to avoid or don’t have available to them in the first place. It’s of their manic pixiehood carrying them too far rather than not far enough

For as many of the audience might experience catharsis, another segment may (really, will) be heaped with more pain than their life currently holds.

So the utilitarian calculus here is muddled at best, and perhaps weighted towards the negative at worst.

In a similar way that people in decades past might not know or weigh what ‘micro-aggressions’ were bc they were more concerned with overt racism, humanity has the ongoing potential to self-reflect more and more. To refine moral considerations to a higher degree than people did previously, even if said previous people were plenty moral within their context and their frame of reference.

hi. so just out of curiosity i searched my own blog and the only time i have used this word recently was in regards to a silly gerard way video (and honestly, probably the only time i personally have ever done so on this blog). in my opinion, in this post, i think its obvious i am saying this as a funny way of expressing my shock and love and exasperation at the pagentry of a celebrity--who has gone out of their way to align and ally themselves w lgbt and queer ppl--doing something thats uhh pretty significantly flamboyant and campy. i can understand how this can be misconstrued.

i am gay. i id as a lesbian. im not cis. i am a queer person. i need this to be clear here. i understand that there has been discussion of who can "reclaim" slurs in the past but it is not discussion i am taking part in here because it is irrelevant. i understand what youre saying when you say "dont use this word" ; youre saying dont be mean and callous towards people who you do not share experiences with, when you have not experienced the same level of animosity and aggression that they have and can experience. i acknowledge that i maybe i havent experienced ALL of the same things that people who have been called fag or queer or any other of the number of slurs that exist for gay men, effeminate men, men who dare to embrace a little bit of femininity.

at the same time gay history and culture are not something to shrink away from. gay people have called themselves """slurs""" as long as those slurs have been used against them by aggressors. and i am not using it in a negative connotation in that post, i am using it because i am happy someone who i look up to a little bit is doing something fucking hysterical and funny and it is bringing me--a lesbian, some unknown and confusing flavor of trans--joy and euphoria at seeing someone else bend gender norms and embrace parts of femininity i have struggled with.

there are people out there who are using this word as a slur, and using it demeaningly and as an aggressor in situations that are dangerous for people like me. i am not one of these people. there are so many more people to be worried about than a single blogger on a social media platform who used the word 'faggotry' on a post that did not get circulated widely.
