hi @tweedstoat thanks for appreciating my tags! the westerling example is really great because it's a house that's fallen on hard times over CENTURIES of selling mines and lands to others (imagine being poor on the westerlands of all places rip), it's let's say a more natural decline than the daynes. and like you say it's crazy that in less than A YEAR the daynes fell out of favor so completely with their overlords (+ the implicit lost of favor that all the loyalists suffer under robert, like the tyrells). the only other house that might aid them or think better of their honor are the starks but that's a huge no in dorne i think.
i don't think the daynes are at the gawen westerling marrying dollar princess sybell spicer level but they sure are laying very very low that even if the snubbed dayne theory is not true, is very telling of them not wanting to call attention to themselves. almost as if they are keeping a secret. humm. i also spoke about here a little about how it's also telling that gerold in the present time the only other dayne onscreen is so reviled for being a warrior (cruel yes but anyway) when he could've been a candidate for the role of the sword of the morning for the same reason, but alas. he's trying to prove himself in any way and free himself from the shadow of people like arthur. makes ya think! he's only invited to arianne's party for his reputation but the rest of her companions don't take him that seriously.
Tumblr media
Look I get that they're probably just more relevant to the Northern plot of the story but I just find it weird that Allyria is betrothed to a marcher lord and there's no mention of Ned being invited to the water gardens....also Ned being named after the man who KILLED Arthur.....there is so much anger at and within that family GRRM explain....

I find it so funny when people call Jon Snow a bastard as an insult as if the show and book shows that you shouldn’t discriminate people based on their birth. I’m looking at you, targ stans. Like he might be a bastard, but he is a better man than most of the true born Targaryens.
That's the thing, Jon being a bastard isn't just about the secret of his birth. It's all about Jon starting the story as an outcast, and finally finding a place in the world amongst other outcasts and unique people. His early friendly kinship with Tyrion, finding a genuine brother in Sam, befriending people like Grenn, Pyp, Tormund. And how by not looking down on them the way the world does him, he grows into a leader. One of the only leaders who can handle the threat to come.
Jons story isn't about getting passed being a bastard or becoming trueborn named anything. Its about Jon realizing that he became the man he is, while being a bastard. That despite everyone trying to put him down for it, he still pushed passed and rose up. It's about Jon learning being a bastard isn't good or bad, it's simply about the man he strives to become.
Also Targ stans the way they talk about Jon Snow is..odd. They seem to only like him if he can be molded into a Targaryean and nothing else. But he is everything they aren't. They are obsessed with blood purity and blood superiority, ruling through cruelty and fear, obessed with prophecy and status. Jon doesn't care about any of those things.
Also, the Targaryeans are obsessed with their blood purity so much it's led to the rampant, destructive levels of incest which almost caused their house to go extinct. When Rhaenyra very obviously had bastards, instead of fighting for her bastard childrens rights, she got violent and cruel at the insinuation of the truth being told to the point she wanted to torture her young half brother for simply repeating something his mother told him.
Even her kids must know their own mother looks down on them for being bastards, because if she wasn't, she wouldn't be trying to pass them off as trueborn. Jon did not need to be a Stark for Ned to love him and include him as much as he could within the family home. Ned literally raised Jon to be the Kevan to Robbs Tywin. Ned wanted Jon to be Robbs right hand man, his closest advisor. And he never needed Jon to be a Stark to start teaching and preparing him for that.
The Targaryeans don't respect bastards so much it's literally what caused the Blackfyre rebellions. Their stans just don't seem to grasp that all of this shows it is bad to judge someone for being a bastard.
They only care about Jon if he will call himself a Targaryean and be just like Rhaegar. But they miss the point. He only has one name and it's Jon Snow.
Because that is what his father named him, and he never had to become a Stark to grow into the man he is and could become.
But Targ stans don't quite seem to care about the conversation of bastards outside of the very specific times said bastards are directly involved in house Targaryean like in the Dance or the Blackfyres. Otherwise, they flip flop on the matter with Jon because they don't really care about him unless he resigns himself to being a true Targaryean.
Which is SILLY.

Right, now to watch episode 2 in detail
Aziraphale and Crowley well aware they have to play demon/Angel and prompting each other but also taking the time to have a little chat and an catch up.
‘I have a permit’ how very Ron Swanson
Oh, Muriel and Aziraphale working together all the way back at Job’s time! And poor Aziraphale, absolutely horrified at the bet, and the murder of the children.
Aziraphale is the only one to take Sitis’s feelings into account and consider she might not want to lose her children and give birth another seven times. And he’s the only Angel to understand that the dead children will be still be a devastating loss.
Gabriel is dressed as the shop assistant in Open All Hours proving not only does Aziraphale watch old British sitcoms, he thinks that’s the way actual life works.
All those years watching Mad Men and I never knew Jon Hamm could be funny and also sing.
Although - given Shax says ‘the kind of miracle only the mightiest of archangels could have performed’ I thought she meant Gabriel but after what Crowley said later about being able to access the records - is it him?
Ok the song when Aziraphale goes into Maggie’s shop this time is the glorious and heart rending ‘You don’t have to say you love me’ sung by Dusty Springfield. I thinks it’s best I just show you the lyrics
When I said I needed you
You said you would always stay
It wasn't me who changed but you and now you've gone away
Don't you see that now you've gone
And I'm left here on my own
That I have to follow you and beg you to come home
You don't have to say you love me, just be close at hand
You don't have to stay forever, I will understand
Believe me, believe me, I can't help but love you.
Anyway - the book ‘Jim’ waves in Saraqael’s face is a Pratchett - The Colour of Magic. Now they may have chosen this Pratchett as it’s the first Discworld BUT it may also have been a clue to look at the colour of the magical plume - purple.
The big book Jim uses to try to swat the fly is The Wicked Bible which has the commandment ‘Thou shalt commit adultery’ in it.
Crowley keeping an eye on the strange man sitting at Aziraphale’s table in the pub. I dunno, first he has a naked man in his place and now this bloke is chatting him up. Crowley definitely does that ‘he belongs to me, matey’ swagger when he walks up. (Mr Brown’s newspaper headline is Nebraskan Woman Taught Duck to Play Accordion. I don’t know why that is in the Metro, which is a London based newspaper about London)
The newspaper the man behind Mr Brown is holding has the headline ‘unearthed mysterious sealed library found’ Clue to S3?
Ok, Crowley has obviously been thinking about situations to make people fall instantly in love for a while, considering how quick off the mark he is for ideas to make Nina and Maggie fall in love. And Crowley now canonically has seen Four Weddings and a Funeral. And probably other Richard Curtis films. Crowley is canonically a rom-com fan!
I love how they both have different views of Jane Austen. She did all that and had an affair with Clara…
That whole ‘fall in love at a ball’ thing sounds more Heyer than Austen to be honest.
Jon Hamm is so good. Can we keep him? Have him star in British comedy shows forever?
And back to Job and this time Aziraphale isn’t playing a part. He is genuinely trying to stop Crowley and he’s shaking and afraid and doesn’t want to do this but he must.
Wait - when did we think the first time Crowley called Aziraphale Angel was? Cos he calls him Angel in this scene. And look - Aziraphale can see the goodness in Crowley even this early on. He knows Crowley doesn’t want to kill the children even as Crowley is trying so hard to convince him he’s bad.
And then Aziraphale says he knew the Angel Crowley was and Crowley says that’s not him now and so Crowley knew all along that Aziraphale knew him as an Angel!
‘I’m a demon. I lied!’ Except Crowley didn’t lie - as soon as Aziraphale showed faith in him he saved the children. And Crowley is clicking again…
Aziraphale’s not drinking reminds me of Maggie’s not drinking.
Crowley getting him to try the food means thousands of years later Aziraphale will want to save the Earth because of little restaurants where they know him….it’s a way of making sure Aziraphale loves the Earth as much as he does.
Crowley being on ‘his side’ sounds so lonely to Aziraphale - perhaps this is where he starts to join him.
Crowley and Aziraphale teaming up to trick the angels for the first time. And the for the first time Aziraphale lies to the angels - not obscure the issue, not cleverly manoeuvre around it, but straightforward lie.
‘Our car’ And while Crowley sleeps in the car (perhaps it’s where he feels safest after he saw the bookshop burn and he was trapped in his flat) he must spend a lot of time in the bookshop to be getting a lot of use out of it.
Looking at the books Gabriel is looking at. It includes The Crow Road, the book Muriel reads later. I’ve read most of them and they’re all very good books.
‘It was a nice day’. Thats Good Omens. Gabriel was about to read Good Omens. I know several of us have written fanfics where Good Omens the book exists in the Good Omens universe.
Poor Aziraphale. So certain he’s going to Fall. So certain he deserves it. And Crowley ‘I’m not taking you to Hell, Angel’. And that’s where it starts, isn’t it? Crowley’s absolute determination that Hell will not get his hands on Aziraphale and neither will Heaven starts here, as they sit side by side in companionship. Aziraphale is so scared and Crowley is kind in his way and that urge to protect him starts here, I think, just like Aziraphale’s determination that Crowley will not be alone started in the cellar when Crowley said he was on his side and Aziraphale thought tang was lonely.
I don’t think anyone has ever been kind to Aziraphale before. And I don’t think anyone has just kept Crowley company before. And now Crowley admits - he needs a friend. And he will protect that friend - his only friend - from both Heaven and Hell.

Why Daenerys Should've Stayed Longer in the North Than Attack Cersei Too Soon (Which is a dick move, really) PART 2
This is a continuation from my other post, as promised. Here’s the link to Part 1 here.
ALLIES FROM THE SOUTH
The Stormlands. With Dany recently legitimizing Robert Baratheon’s last living bastard, Gendry (Yay!), and appointed him as the new Lord of Storm’s End, I think he had pledged his loyalty and full support to her.
Tumblr media
Now since the Baratheons are the overlords of the Stormlands, it ultimately makes the Stormlands part of Dany’s new rule in Westeros. And if the Stormmen questioned Gendry’s legitimacy, there are two people who can back him up: Ser Davos Seaworth, a landed knight, and Ser Brienne of Tarth, literally the heiress to Evenfall in Tarth Island. Both of whom are from the Stormlands and have served the late Baratheon lords, Stannis,
Tumblr media
and Renly, respectively.
Tumblr media
TV show-wise, Gendry had taken over Edric Storm’s plotline. Edric Storm was another one of Robert’s many bastards and it was him who Ser Davos saved from being killed by Mellisandre in the books, not Gendry. Gendry himself was grateful to Davos for saving his life and he sort of stepped up as his own parental figure. I also think Gendry reminded Davos of the son he lost during the Battle of Blackwater Bay.
As for Brienne, she and Gendry never shared a conversation in the show, but in the books, he even saved her life. Brienne came from Tarth, an island in the Stormlands, where her father Selwyn Tarth is lord and one of the many bannermen of the Baratheons of Storm’s End. Brienne came across Gendry in the Inn at the Crossroads while she was searching for the Stark girls. When she saw him, she literally thought he was Renly because of his striking resemblance to his uncle. Their exchange went something like this:
Brienne: Oh my god, Lord Renly?!
Gendry: Uh, what? Lord? Lol no, I’m just a smith.
I wished it happened in the show, it would’ve been funny.
Dorne. There isn’t much plot regarding Dorne in the show. (Again, f*ck D&D for ruining a great sub-plot of the story!) But in the books, the Martell heiress, Arianne was the ultimate feminist icon. She supported and fought for Myrcella Baratheon’s claim to the Iron throne over her younger brother, Tommen, and she hoped that the rest of Westeros would follow after Dorne’s right of inheritance regardless of gender and order of birth. But no! They disregarded that seemingly important plot that even George R.R. Martin was disappointed about the changes. (We hear you, George!) Nevertheless, Arianne would’ve supported a queen, yes. But between Daenerys and Cersei, she’d probably go with Dany mainly because of their family ties. In case you forgot, Rhaegar’s late first wife, Elia Martell, was Arianne’s aunt. Also, because of what happened to Elia and Oberyn Martell in King’s Landing, the Martells practically loathed the Lannisters. In the show, Oberyn Martell’s paramour Ellaria Sand, and his bastard daughters, the Sand Snakes, hated the Lannisters, that’s why they sided with Dany. But with all of them dead and House Martell now extinct, I think the new prince of Dorne would’ve allied himself with a tamer ruler, not one who plays with wildfire. (Note: this is when Dany stayed in the North and did not march south yet.)
Spies. In the Art of War, the use of spies implies gaining knowledge of the enemy, knowing their motive and their next move. With Lord Varys the Spider in Winterfell, who’s still serving under Daenerys, has its advantages. Vary’s networks of spies or as what he called them, his “little birds” are literally scattered across the seven kingdoms.
Tumblr media
His little birds are actually children, and appearance-wise, cannot be easily identified as spies. With his intel, they could easily formulate a plan to defeat Cersei.
DEFENSE AT SEA
If Cersei couldn’t do it by land, she’ll go by sea. Which, Daenerys of course, have the appropriate fleets to defend, covering both the Narrow and Sunset Seas. Here's a map:
Tumblr media
(Source: pinterest.com)
Enemies to the East. If Cersei will be stupid enough to attack through the Narrow Sea by sea, Daenerys has the fleets to defend. The Northern fleet, a.k.a the Manderly Fleet of White Harbor and the Arryn Fleet in Gulltown in the Vale will join forces.
Enemies to the West. And if they invade through the Sunset Sea, they’d have to pass the Iron Islands, where Yara Greyjoy’s Fleet will intercept them, with the help of the Mallister Fleet in Seagard.
Tumblr media
Who would win depends. The only other person that’s probably as good as Euron at sea is his niece, Yara. The rest of Dany’s fleet would have to get lucky or outnumber the number of ships in a fleet.
At this point, you’ll probably be like, oh, what if they steer clear from the fleets and enter the North’s weakly defended areas? Okay, that job falls to the castles nearest to their borders. The northernmost castle is the Last Hearth, the seat of House Umber, which is practically already deserted. On the south is Greywater Watch, which has the strongest defense out of all four cardinal directions. On both east and west hold the seat of two branches of House Flint, with Widow’s Watch on the east, and Flint’s Finger on the west (Again, refer to the map above). Once they see Cersei’s fleet, they’ll inform the people in Winterfell.
People tend to forget that Daenerys has the only air support with her dragons. So when she hears about this, she’ll easily burn the enemy fleet with one dracarys away.
Tumblr media
That is, if Qyburn hadn’t installed that big-ass crossbow in one of the ships, then she’ll have to be better at dodging them. It gets better if Jon’s willing to help her with Rhaegal, but we’ll never know.
OUTNUMBERED AND SURROUNDED
Tumblr media
The map shows the Crownlands and its neighboring kingdoms of the Vale, the Riverlands, the Reach, and the Stormlands. (Source: pinterest.com)
Territories. With Cersei sacrificing Casterly Rock to tighten her grip on the Iron Throne, she technically had also sacrificed the Westerlands, which meant everything north of King’s Landing is Dany’s territory now. With Dany’s army and territories secured, the Crownlands, where King’s Landing is, is technically surrounded by the Vale, the Riverlands, the Reach, and Stormlands. I included the Reach because, well, she roasted the Tarlys and took the remaining men to her cause with a choice, bend the knee or die in a blaze of glory.
Armies. Dany has the combined armies of North, Vale, Riverlands, Westerlands, Reach, Stormlands, and maybe Dorne, plus, the Unsullied; fleets of the North, Vale, Riverlands, and Yara’s fleet from the Iron Islands; and the only air support, her two remaining dragons. Cersei on the other hand, just had the army of the Crownlands, King’s Landing’s City Watch, the queensguard, plus, the Golden Company without elephants; and Euron Greyjoy’s fleet.
I think it’s obvious that Dany outnumbers Cersei’s army, by a lot. And at this point, Dany has enough allies to lay a siege on King’s Landing.
DAENERYS VS. CERSEI
Let’s discuss the difference in the personalities and motives of Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister.
They both have blond hair, are the only girl among three siblings, and are queens in their own right. But that’s where their similarities end.
Cersei currently sits on the iron throne, and she is loving the perks that came with it. Endless Power, which meant she can do whatever she wants and not care about what people think, like sleeping with her brother. With the news of Dany coming back to Westeros, she sees her as a threat and wanted nothing more than for Dany to disappear so she could stay in power.
Tumblr media
Daenerys, however, claims that being the queen of the seven kingdoms is her birthright, as it was the Targaryens that reunited the whole continent of Westeros. Of course, it’s still power, but at the same time, she sees it as a responsibility as well. (With great power, comes great responsibility. Wow, I’m quoting Spiderman now.) She believes that as a queen, it’s her job to take care and provide for the needs of her subjects and even makes an effort to hold court as she listened to their demands. She also thinks that slavery is a big no-no, so she freed them.
Tumblr media
The key to becoming a great leader is finding the balance between being loved and feared by your subjects. Cersei is more likely feared than loved. She also doesn’t care about her people, a fact that she admitted to her brother, Tyrion once. Daenerys most likely had the scale tips on balance, with her being equally loved and feared by her subjects. She’s loved because she actually takes time to listen to the people’s needs, and feared because she could take you out using her dragons with one word.
If Dany did lay siege on King’s Landing (again, we aren’t counting her major mad queen moment), the only thing Cersei can use against Dany is the people living within the city walls. Cersei might have heard that Dany’s been freeing slaves in the cities surrounding Slaver’s Bay, and figured out that she has a soft spot for the common folk.
In conclusion, if Daenerys had simply waited out and took her time planning and gathering allies and supplies against Cersei, she would’ve been successful in her campaign to retake Westeros. But then again, we aren’t the writers for this show. In the end, they had Jon battling through himself while he chooses to reply with either of his two favorite lines, She’s my queen or I don’t want it. Or that Sansa and Arya doesn’t like Dany at all and think that she’s a power-hungry, dragon-riding bitch. Or that Bran doesn’t give a f*ck about anything. So, yeah. What do you guys think?

i like how prophetic dreams and prophecies in itself different from visions are interpreted in different ways and in diff directions but also by different people for eg stannis and Mel, Rhaegar and dany or other targaryen kings. Jojen and bran, Cersei and Maggy etc...
Melisandre usually tumbles and makes mistakes she sees what she sees but not exactly she wants to see what should be accurate considering how her major azhor ahai is stannis, was a mistake and an error. However recently we know she sees snow in flames. jon. but im skeptical about him being prince that was promised or AA, when you have....daenerys right here. But she still commits mistakes idk maybe rh'ollor is lil unhinged and is messing with her, but no. i think she is prone to change and her prophecies change too. Mel doesn't stick up to one interpretation and pretty sure will leave stannis in long run if she believes who is AA to her.
But stannis, is stubborn and crude. As a skeptic and well part atheist, he took her words and religious ventures too seriously and has attached with the prophecy too vehemently as if he has to be AA at any cost not knowing prophecy can't matter in the end even, but its so funny to me he risked most of the stuff for red priestess who just came to her and is like, "ight u be the king cuz u have targaryen blood"
Jojen reeds dreams are like mostly about starks and wolves and how they will come back again and when bran and others ask him if what he sees can be changed, he says no. which means him seeing something can be finalized testament or something that will happen one way or other since starks coming back or wolves coming back, is like obvious thing since they have their might broken. Bran is currently well being trained by bloodraven so his views weren't yet in first books but evolved with time.
And my fav part is cersei's prophecy of valonqar and maggy. She is destined or was to marry king not prince and she would have 3 children while robert 16 bastards, and we never knew and it was strange to me how lannisters never acquired or were even mildly amused by idea of magic all the way but cersei going to a witch when she was in casterly rock with her companions was like a major twist for me since i never assumed her to be like that, however she knows her fate will end by valonqar and a young more beautiful queen (def dany) will replace her and take what she holds dear. However cersei's reaction to this prophecy when she herself asks witch to tell her fortune is volatile. She takes to anger and resists it from coming true. She even shapes her life and everything according to not letting the prophecy come true but it follows her to in a way that she does marry robert and has 3 children by incestuous relationship. At the very best however, she avoids it because she hates the truth of it. She steers away from it.
Rhaegar is a different matter to me. I like how he was born as melancholic and amidst grief during tragedy of summerhal and well overall, for me had tragic demise but he took the prophecy too serious differently than stannis even. He made sure to follow and correct it and apply it aptly on his marital life and social life. He even kind of got too carried away and dreamy with it that he didn't himself realise the situation changing with Robert's rebellion and everything happening. Rhaegar however we knew was kind of intellectual and sensual personality so maybe he took the targaryen grief of years of no dragons too seriously too. And in the end well...prophecy really didn't work for him and most of his actions failed him and those around.
Dany is so different in this regards tbh. She is part of two prophecies for me the 'prince that was promised' and AZHOR AHAI. and the last 'younger more beautiful queen'. I mean it's startling. Unlike her brother and even old ancestors of her blood, she intrinsically is tied to so many of these prophetic verses and proves on so many occasions especially after birth of dragons that she indeed can be Azhor Ahai or maybe - the best candidates for her. She doesn't really is obsessed with it or neither is she forcing someone to tell her fate like cersei and then meet the rejection with rudeness infact she kind of subverts expectations one has of glaring prophecy which everyone imagines to be a prince...or a man. But dany really isn't a man lol and neither a prince. Aemon did say too the translated prophecy can have error too and it was not really prince who is promised but could be well...princess if that's even the correct term. Her birth of dragons explained in numerous posts and metas is so phenomenal and makes her ever so wonderful and magical than her all ancestors who died in all tragic ways because they made the prophecies too tied to their lives and were utterly obsessed with it. They were reminiscing over grief of dragons but daenerys bought dragons that to, three back to world after stepping into drogo's pyre and performing a ritual she herself only realised in the end what she was doing and thanks to well MMD. She realized later but still did she realise how the stone eggs did exudate warmth and called to her. Im pretty sure all other targayens and their expectations and experiences were all in vain or went down drain. Dany on the other hand independently alone and on her own without help of anyone but only subtly joining clues and hints, sorted out and stitched the importance and relevance of it. The dragons and ritual. It was anyways a one time magical event too, no wonder her bringing dragons to world is written as " music of dragons" and night came alive with it in AGOT. (interesting that grrm says music of dragons and well rhaegar also liked playing sad music at ruins of summerhall, an emo prince yea)
And Daenerys doesn't really is tied herself to prophecy but most of the prophecies are tied to her. The Younger More Beautiful Queen one indicates at her..tbh and really no one including cersei and her knows about it. The AzAhai one also points to her because she was born in salts of dragonstone and smoke refers to birth of dragons and cracking of sound and smoke during pyre. The sword forged from flame can obv be pointed to drogon whose birth is like fire made flesh of a dragon hence that, and also when Xaro X Daxos says, of her dragons 'as flaming sword'.
but not getting into details of AA as dany because again, there are a lot of essays to it.
I just pointed out how stannis makes prophecy his and forced a little on people, how jojen trains bran too in a way and he still takes time to learn this green visions thing, cersei staggers away from it and damages people to not fulfill it or prevent it from engulfing her...but dany has no idea yet as far of any prophecy only a dream, and house of undying visions which she herself doesnt yet believe all so much we rlly dont know, yet she fulfills def 2/3 prophecies.

Dan Povenmire, co-creator of Phineas and Ferb and the voice of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, just did a zoom call for fans, and this is a link to it on Google Drive and a link to it on YouTube.
Here’s a brief overlay brought to you by my incessant live blogging, and because I was speed typing on my phone, I can guarantee not everything made the cut. If you’re interested in hearing Dan talk about growing up an artist and becoming an animator and trying to pitch Phineas and Ferb and working on the show and movies, I would definitely suggest checking out the full 75 minute video. The highlights from the call are below the cut.
They added Doof and Perry because they liked chase scenes. They realized fairly quickly that more than not, the pair led to good comedy, and found it much more interesting to see how their relationship developed. He also says that they are "the most important person to each other” and “they’re really good friends.”
They wrote the Perry theme song in an hour between meetings with Disney
They decided during the pilot that they weren't going to try to get comedy from the characters saying mean things to each other. Even Doofenshmirtz wasn't motivated by evil, he just wanted to get the attention he didn't get at home.
Doof’s backstories were not Dan and Swampy's idea. They were from Jon Barry and Chris Hendrick, who [itched the lawn gnome backstory. It was long and compliated and Dan and Swampy couldn’t stop laughing. They also provided the "it all started on the day of my birth” one the next day.
making the 2D movie while making the movie was the busiest Dan says he has ever been, and that's not even counting the PnF Take Two and Doof's web show and all the interviews. Basically, 2010ish was a very busy time in the Dwampyverse.
They decided to give each pair of writers their own section of an outline to work on, and each pair got to make up the dialogue and jokes based on it. it works well for the show, but writers kept going on their own tangents and the movie ended up like 6 hours long. Dan and Kyle Menke had to redraw 80% of the show because they had to cut gags out and rewrite it so it was still funny. Note: in the new movie, they did the opposite — they wrote a script and told the board artists that they could put brief gags in but nothing too long
He thinks the show became one of the most beloved shows bc it was innocent and the adult humor wasn't dirty so the whole family could watch it together. He also said the songs at the closest thing you get to immortality in a show. Those combined made the show as big of a hit as it was, and hopefully those things will get older people to watch the movie.
His advice if you want to follow in his footsteps are to draw (and suggest you check out Cartoon Animation by Preston Blaire and How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way by Stan Lee) and to know that these jobs are out there
One of his favorite gags in PnF are the silent moments where something big happens and no one reacts (like something big fell in an early episode and crashed next to Phineas and co and at first they were all shocked but Dan changed it to them just kinda looking at it for a moment with no emotion)
Q: Did you ever want to quit what you were going?
A: "I don't really... do... anything else..."
He finished his new pilot today (July 2nd, 2020) and the movie is due tomorrow.
He would love to do more PnF and there's been talks of another PnF movie
He would love to do more Milo Murphy's Law, but it never got huge ratings and Disney's not too big on it but if people start watching it on Disney+ they might get to keep doing it. They did that with Family Guy, and it could happen to MML too.
The movie feels like old Phineas and Ferb and there are a lot of great songs!
And now, the Q&A (in which he draws random characters are he talks)
How was the process of kicking the voices?
It was sometime easy but sometimes very difficult. For Phineas, they listened to maybe a thousand people. they actually recorded someone but they put it to animation and it didn't really work. He knew as soon as he heard Vincent that he loved him. They literally recasted the lead (Vincent) the day before they had to deliver the pilot.
He knew immediately that he liked Alison Stoner. She was the second Isabella he heard, and he listened to maybe 50 others afterwards, but he knew he wanted Alison Stoner
They decided on a different Candace and they sent it to the head of the channel and the guy asked if he heard Ashley Tisdale. He told Dan to have her come in and give her direction and Dan was hesitant bc he had one that he liked but he was lowkey forced to bring her in. It was his only audition that day, and after his big block of text Dan gave her like 20 notes and she wrote the notes on the big block of text and she did it again and it was perfect and obviously Candace (but he feels bad for the actress that was almost Candace bc she'll never know how close she was)
What was the most impactful episode you worked on?
Either the last (hard to watch w/o crying) or three moments that made himcey while doing them: the end of Summer Belongs To You when Phineas gives up trying to get off the island and decides to watch the sunset with Isabella which was what she always wanted and she exploded and talked him back up onto being the person he is even tho it's a sacrifice on her behalf. He later says he started crying while pitching to his wife the AYA scene of Phinabella getting together.
Do you regret any episodes?
There are some he likes more and some he likes less but he doesn't regret any of them. He was a little disappointed in an early episode without a sing but he watched it alter and decided it was actually pretty decent. None of them make him cringe or wonder why they did that.
How has social media impacted PnF?
He recently got on TikTok and found out that's where all the PnF fans are. He was thrilled to see the response everything was getting and it made him feel good about everything he accomplished. The fact that this generation knows what an aglet is is his biggest accomplishment in pop culture.
Favorite part of working on the show/movie
He likes editing, but writing the songs is the most fun bc it feels the least like work
Who is Ferb's mom?
Never established or really thought about Ferb's mom or Phineas's dad AND IT'S NOT DOOFENSHMIRTZ THEY MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THAT TO BE TRUE STOP ASKING and Phineas and Candace are full brother and sister. The bio parents aren't interesting to them bc the family already has a mom and dad and the other ones are just out of the picture and not important.
Will there be a new character in the movie?
Super Super Big Doctor (and Disney keeps telling him what he can and can't talk about)
Are there any secrets or theories that he can tell them?
The freaking creepy pasta about schitzophrenic Candace IS NOT TRUE Phineas and Ferb do exist and are alive. There's also a theory that Candace is not based on the diary of a teen girl in Russia who killed herself, and that's not true either. He genuinely thinks they are really freaking stupid theories and they make no sense at all.
Who is your favorite guest star?
Writing a song with Slash from Guns n Roses was really cool. He also liked working with Ben Stiller, Christian Slater the delivery guy (he called and said he'd do any part in MML so they wrote him a role), Jack McBrayer (Irving/Fix It Felix), Wayne Brady (co-wrote In The Empire)
What is the motivation of Candace to bust the boys?
He's not trying to hurt them. She doesn't dislike them. She gets irritated but she's really just looking for fairness. If she built a rollercoaster in the backyard, she'd get in trouble, so they should get in trouble, too.
How did you think about hot to end the show?
Disney was starting to cool off on PnF. The merch wave had plateaued. Dan and Swampy had the next two years in the show already made, but Disney wouldn't pick up another season until they finished airing that season. They'd have to restaff for a new season and they didn't like that idea, so they turned one of their hour long specials into the finale. He wanted to be able to say goodbye and thank the fans.

Nightmare Time Episode 1 Thoughts
Ok. It took me about an hour but I think I can develop some thoughts on Nightmare Time. I'm just gonna type as I think so events will be all out of order.
My mom decided to watch it with me last minute so that was nice. She doesn't remember much from the Hatchetfield shows but she enjoyed this anyways.
The Knok Twist made me mad and happy at the same time. I have adopted all of Joey's soft boy characters and now I have to send my new son back for being a defective creep. But also Ted is hilarious, I kind of missed him (just a little though), and it was a nice twist.
Was Konk fully naked the whole time? Was he at least wearing pants or shorts or something?
Every entrance Robert made as Hidgens killed me. When he kicked down the door but had to scoot into frame with his leg still up, I died.
His dramatic Hidgens reveal made me squeal. I knew he was coming but I love how his reveal was dramatic anyway. It was like he went "Oh they want Hidgens? Time to Hidgens harder than ever."
Angela was so good as Lucy. I love how she is nothing like Lex. I love seeing more if her acting range. She is so talented.
I think I might like Ted now. Like before he was fine. I know people were obsessed with him but I was one of those jerks being like "They only like him because of SSN and their weird CharTed ship. He was funny in SSN but he's not that great. He's just fine. (I never said any of this to anyone. People can like what they like no matter my opinion. I kept my negative thoughts to myself.) I don't know what happened here but I think I like him. Still not obsessed but he's pretty cool. Maybe I'm still trying to have Konk idk.
I knew Hidgens was insane before but know he's absolutely unhinged. Before he was crazy like "A musical world is my dream and I want it. You think I'm crazy? Well it would also bring world peace so there I justified it. My actions are actually helping and not at all selfish." And now it's like "I will murder to make my musical. No justification here. I am absolutely selfish and I don't care."
How, when, and why did Ted decide to join Hidgens on his crazy plan?
I wonder how CharTed shippers feel about Lucy.
Bill is back and I'm loosing it!!
When did Alice get so moody? I know we didn't see much of her in TGWDLM but she seemed chill. I know denying doing drugs while underaged isn't the goodest possible thing but she seemed like she was a rule follower. I'm not mad at this Alice and I don't think it's bad, it's just different than what I imagined.
Bill is trying his best and I love him.
James's Blinky voice is cool and I love it.
James's bowtie was effected by the green screen background and that was funny to me.
I can't wait to meet Ziggy.
TED HAS A LITTLE BROTHER?! AND HE'S NERDY?! I WANT TO LEARN ABOUT THEY'RE DYNAMIC SO BAD!! NAME? LASTNAMES? MORE PLEASE!!
Bill saying he loves Alice but doesn't like her hit different. I had a friend whose mom said that to her as jokes and now I do the same to my brother. It was weird hearing someone be serious and then the person they said it to got actually hurt.
Is Snigglette ok? Do they sniggles have their own minds? I always thought they had a hivemind too. Why is there a Papa Sniggle? Did he birth them (Male sniggles can probably give birth we don't know) does every god in Drowsy Town have their own brand of sniggles? Where did the original sniggle come from? Is Papa the original? Who birthed him? Do the sniggles decided which god they want to follow. Do they have to follow whoever their Papa follows? Is Papa just a Smurfs reference and I'm overthinking his importance to sniggle lore? I have so many questions.
Do Wiggly and Blinky coexist or is this a different universe?
Can I get a date for whe this takes place? Like a month drop would be good.
Deb being an artist and Alice being a playwright made me extremely happy. Just two creative girls loving each other. Can we get a script drop? I will pay money?
Can we get a Blinky doll drop? I will pay money.
Matt did such an amazing job scoring the whole thing. Everything he played set the perfect mood.
Jeff is one of the most talented people I know of. All of the songs were so good. OMG that intro gave me chills in the trailer and everyone singing was so beautiful I love it.
I am obsessed with the Blinky song. James, Curt, and Jeff is now one of my new favorite harmonies I love their voices together.
Was the Becky Barnes tree thing a reference to their little Irish girl Becky who didn't come down for supper? If so, how does Hidgens now about Becky's childhood? How does Hidgens know Becky? Is she actually Irish?
How did Ted know about Lucy falling?
Why was this so spooky? I love horror movies and this actually had horror movie vibes. TGWDLM and Black Friday had its moments and they were spooky but I never got chills from them. I got chills from this.
What was Jon's character? Was he a sniggles or just some guy that was under Blinky's control? Either way he was creepy. He was just so eerily normal.
I wonder if in universe they were actually swearing in the Blinky song. Imagine parents just being like "I don't know what this is but I think it's supposed to be for kids. Oh well, their enjoying it so idc."
Surprise Jaime appearance was appreciated.
Everyone is absolute royalty but Corey and James are the kings.
Bill got a happy ending. It's what he deserved. Wait.....WE GOT A HAPPY HATCHETFIELD ENDING!!!!!
I think those are all of my thoughts. I absolutely love this and am most definitely buying tickets for 2 and 3.

The Magnus Archives Relisten: Episode 103 - Cruelty Free
I-I didn’t know what to do. I just – I asked around to see if anyone knew where it had come from, but no-one had any idea. They were just as baffled as I was. Though they could see it, which was, you know, a relief. - Statement of Dylan Anderson
Yeah, I can see how that might have been a relief, if rather short-lived. If you're going to deal with a mysterious monster pig, you at least want to people around you to believe that you are, in fact, dealing with a mysterious monster pig!
But as I got closer, I saw that they were scars. Shot scars, most of them, with some that looked like they might have been from spikes or axes.
I suspect that pig has been around since well before shotguns were a thing.
Not enough food, apparently, since after a few days of this, it decided to supplement its diet with poor Toby. I’d looked after Toby since he was born. I’d helped birth him. He was my friend. So when I saw what was left of him lying in the pigpen on that damp Tuesday morning, I’m not ashamed to say that I cried.
AGH, JOHNNY YOU SAID NO PET DEATHS! THIS PIG WAS NAMED AND EVERYTHING! IT'S DEFINITELY A PET! (No, I'm not actually mad about this and also I think this doesn't technically qualify because we didn't meet Toby until his death but it did make me go "Aw, no, Toby :( " and affected me SIGNIFICANTLY more than the death of the clown.)
It was him, though, stood there, staring into the darkness. He was muttering something to himself. I think the words were, “Long pig. Short pig. Wide pig. Narrow pig.” Over and over. “Long pig. Short pig. Wide pig. Narrow pig.”
I've seen people say this was pretty unintentionally funny, but I actually thought the whole "Long pig. Short pig." thing was one of the eerier moments of this episode (though perhaps a bit on the nose what with the meaning of 'long pig').
To his credit, he managed to stay another three days before he had to return to London on a ‘business emergency’. For context, I’m pretty sure he works as a traffic warden.
Apparently Kurt isn't very good at excuses.
But even with a mouth full of meat, his laugh was still clear as a bell, his jokes and pleas for mercy clearly articulated.
"Laugh, jokes ... and pleas for mercy" is a very creepy juxtaposition.
I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth, waiting to feel the pain of it starting to tear into my flesh. But instead, I felt it settle next to me, the meat of it sinking into the spaces left by my position. It was pressing up against me, and let out the most contented sound I have ever heard from a pig. The message could not have been clearer: ‘Friend’.
I know. I know. This is a sign that Dylan is now complicit, he's not just a victim but an aid to the Flesh and also the pig is a horrifying monstrosity. But I couldn't help myself, I went "Aw come on, give him a scritch, at least! Monster pig just wants a CUDDLE!"
Those pigs didn’t deserve what that thing did to them. Tearing them apart and eating them. (...) Oh, and if you’re hungry, I’ve got some bacon in the freezer I’m going to cook up. What?
This juxtaposition is VERY on the nose, especially with the 'What' at the end, but not entirely unjustified - and I say this as someone who does occasionally eat meat. That thing where it just feels wrong once (and only once) you attach a name to an animal is a very common hypocrisy that I unfortunately share.
Jon: Fine… What do you know about the pig?
Such a simple line but such a character moment. This is the first time Jon knowingly and deliberately compels a 'civilian' so to speak - definitely feels like the start of a downward spiral! And as if that weren't enough he tops it with...
Jon: Fine, fine, just… What’s your darkest secret?
Mind, the darkest secret isn't PARTICULARLY dark so this could have been SIGNIFICANTLY worse and I can understand the temptation, in Jon's place I might do the same fucked-up thing, but still: What the everloving fuck Jon???
Jon: Maybe? I’m, I’m pretty sure it takes him actual effort, so… and it’s Wednesday afternoon, when he does his scheduling. So I’m hoping he’s distracted.
I adore the fact that Jonah fucking Magnus loves scheduling and spends a significant time every week doing so. It's just so ... unexpected.
My impression of this episode
This is another one of those episodes that keeps showing up in "TMA is ridiculous really (affectionate)" lists, but I actually thought it was pretty creepy, all things considered. Not one of the episodes that really got to me, but decent enough, and not nearly as unintentionally funny to me as it seems to be to some people. And the post-statement stuff is pretty "Woah!" especially Jon's deliberate use of his powers.

Impressions of AGoT
I just finished reading A Game of Thrones, the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire series. I'm writing down some quick thoughts on it, intending to gather the differences and similarities of the plot and the characters compared to those of the show. This is mostly for my attempts to speculate how similar or not the ending Martin dreamt is to the D&D's one. It's good for any of you who haven't read the books yet but are interested in it.
The POV characters were the worst possible for me. You get all the Starks but Robb and Rickon, including Catelyn and Jon, and only Tyrion and Deanerys out of everyone else. A little bit of a yawnfest for me personally.
I like the way GRRM writes overall but, you know, I wouldn’t die for his writing style. I’m mentioning this because George criticized JK Rowling’s books in the past and, well no George, you’re not on the level of criticizing other renowned authors yet.
For real, his sex paragraphs are cringy. Thank god there are not as many as in the show.
This must have been one of the most densely structured plots I’ve read, meaning there’s literally no filler paragraph, let alone chapter. George only writes what is essential in order to push the plot forward. So far at least. I both like and dislike that, if I’m making any sense.
I like the concept of the PoV chapters although jumping from one character and one sublot to another in every chapter without connection can get tedious and confusing at times.
The first series did one hell of a job at adapting AGoT. You almost don't need to read the book because nearly everything is exactly the same. Only in the last chapters I started noticing minor differentiations.
One basic difference between book and show is that, listen, George obviously cares for the themes of prophecies and omens and dreams and God signs and religions. They are in most pages of the book and in my opinion they made for the most interesting reading, perhaps because I already knew everything else.
Now that I know, the fact that Jon is Lyanna and Rhaegar's son was freaking obvious throughout the book . It seems D&D were not geniuses for answering George's question about Jon’s parentage correctly. Maybe it would take me longer to suspect it had I not watched the show beforehand but still. Very easy.
Book Ned and Catelyn are very close to the show's, only much younger. Their obsession with honour (while great of course) makes them tiresome characters. Ned repeats all the time what is right or should be done. They are the same but somehow more boring than the show characters. Ned is also OBSESSED with Jaime, whom he mentions in like every paragraph and hates him like he would hate a giant muddy worm lying in his bathtub.
Sorry to say that but Arya is super boring so far. Her chapters had the least symbolic meanings and she's more of a naive child in the book. Maisie gave her swag. They also don't look much alike.
Sansa is the most shallow and annoying little bitch you can imagine until her last couple of chapters. She is emotionless, cares about nobody except boys and men whom she values exclusively based on looks. If you hated early show!Sansa, well you should see book Sansa! In the last two chapters that admirable almost frightening inner strength of hers starts shining.
Book!Jon is on the verge of crying and throwing a tandrum in nearly all his chapters. Actually Kit Harrington did a good job because Jon is always sulky and brooding. Kit made book Jon a little more mature which was a welcome change. Aside from the true parentage implication, the book does not indicate he is an important or fateful character until his last chapters, where it is only hinted.
Bran is truly the character who seems to have fate's mark on him but all this comes from his dreams and a few thoughts of his climbing skills. Otherwise he is just a boy of his age.
Book!Tyrion is almost the same with show!Tyrion but lacks Peter's charisma. He is not as likeable as show!Tyrion without doing anything worse than his TV version though so far. He is extremely selfish which however makes sense with the family he's raised in. It's openly discussed that he might not be Tywin's true son.
Show!Deanerys is one of the most boring characters for me yet I found her book chapters increasingly interesting. She starts as a naive kid and in my opinion ends up a disturbed kid already by the end of the first book. With what she's been through it makes sense. I dislike that George gives her attributes of a fully grown woman, even though she is only thirteen. All the ordeal with the bloodmaegi, Drogo's and her son's death and the birth of the dragons is chilling. However, her troubled mind is much more obvious than in the show. It's like she progressively takes Viserys' place after his death. Her last chapters are easily the best part of the book.
Book!Tywin is still Charles Dance, only painted gold apparently.
Book!Cersei is less likeable than show!Cersei, can you believe? She doesn’t seem to be as clever either. She also must look quite different than Lena’s Cersei. Cersei does not appear often.
Jaime... This is the funniest thing about the book. First of all, Jaime is basically not in the book. He makes it to like three - four appearances at most. Meanwhile, every other page mentions him at least once. Everyone’s like omg Jaime Lannister the most terrifying warrior ever the strongest man in the universe the KINGSLSAYER (x 47648264 times) the golden lion etc.......... and then Jaime appears 4 times and just embarrasses himself in front of the whole realm. Honestly, I’d say being caught having sex with his sister by his host’s son is nowhere near the only embarrassing thing that happens to him. He’s an ultimate failure but one that shines unrealistically golden and glimmers silver in the night. Yep, that’s Jaime Lannister. Wtf George. Honestly, Jaime’s failures and inadequacy compared to the way he’s described by other characters is ridiculous and really funny. I can’t wait to see how George turns this around in the next books. Despite that, the positive thing is that apparently George wants the readers to expect things from Jaime, despite crushing their expectations so many times in this book. He also has a shitload of subtextual symbolic implications about him, even though he appears for so little.
P.S  People “break fast” like you wouldn’t believe

What are the broken throne spoilers
I haven’t finished the book yet; but I read the epilogue. Rant ahead:
The epilogue is written in a history book kind of way and sums up what happens twenty or more years later on. Basically, the fight goes on and our characters remain in the thick of it. Several countries become democracies with equality; others keep Silver rulers but some of them might slowly see a need for change.
Eve gets into contact with the Cygnets and keeps on eye on them to threaten them should they try to conquer Norta again.
Radis becomes premier of Norta after Davidson. At some point, Kilorn becomes premier too (it’s a bit unclear, but probably of Montfort). Cameron becomes a representative of Newbloods in Norta.
Farley is “accused of infiltration and interference withing sovereing nations, attempting to encourage Red and Newblood uprisings against Silver governments.” Duh. I guess it means she looks for people who want to rebel but need assistance, but I hate how this is worded. This sounds like the shit reasons the US army claim for invading other countries and unsettling their societies in the name of “democracy” while the US interests are wholly egoistic and they achieve far more harm than good. You can’t just go into another land and tell people how to live, for fuck’s sake. Fuck the US army. I really really hope this is like it is when Farley finds Shade in Steel Scars where she acts with the explicit knowledge that these persons want rebellion and have the best of their people in mind. I assume it’s meant that way. But that isn’t what’s written here (or who “accused” her? The Silvers? Then of course they’d be biased against her. But if the general population thought so, she would’ve fucked up greatly …). I mean, it is kinda shady and covert how she goes into Norta looking for allies too. But the general narrative we receive shows that most people we meet support the Scarlet Guard’s efforts.
Also Clara was “observed nearly since her birth” and “well known to scientists” and turns out to be a teleporter as a teen. Excuse me? What a waste. And how boring. Firstly, I don’t like that apparently, Newblood abilities are passed like Silvers ones. She could’ve had any ability or none at all. Her ability or non-ability doesn’t make her any more or less Shade’s daughter. Secondly, “observed nearly since her birth”, sounds like she was a lab rat or a dangerous experiment and not a beloved child. I wished that if she was a teleporter, there was a funny and cute scene about it and not just some lazy info dumb as if Aveyard felt like she had to add this in but without really caring about it.
The other thing is about Mare and Cal’s children which are called Shade and Coriane Calore. I mean, nice that they have kids. I’d like to know how they decided on this since Mare doesn’t like children, or what it means when a Silver and a Red/Newblood have children, but it’s okay. Many will love this part, and I’m happy for them. But I can’t stand that the kids’ last name is Calore. I want that name to die out. I would’ve loved if Cal gave up his name and took Mare’s, but I can understand if he keeps it for himself. But for his children??? Didn’t Aveyard see the meaning if the kids had Mare’s name? What a statement against the monarchy it’d be?? TBH, I can’t grasp at all how Mare would ever accept that her children are called “Calore”. They’ll always be Barrows to me.
Unless the whole epilogue was written by a biased, bitter and hateful Silver sitting in their cave or whatever hiding spot who knows these person only by news reports and calls the kids “Calore” because they cannot imagine not calling them that. That would make so much sense, tbh. I shall headcanon that.
(It’s implied that Jon might’ve written it though. He seems hateful, bitter and emotionally distant enough to write this way.)

i'm not familiar with any of your ocs i'm sorry ;_; so how about a short introduction of all of them? i'd love to see that ♥️
I would love to! Sadly I have waaaaay too many ocs to cover all of them here. I do want to introduce you to some ocs of my main stories though!
I’ll do this under the cut
Please feel free to ask me about any of them anytime!
Well start with the story that has less main characters, only two. Their names are Jonathan and Derek. They’re typical high school jocks and play baseball!
 Jonathan
…is called Jon by basically everyone. He is a bit of an asshole and he is definitely arrogant. He is intelligent and he is definitely aware of it. He knows what he is capable of and will take no shit from no one. He’s that person that speaks out against the racist teacher, he’s that person who lets everyone know his opinion. And he has a lot of opinions. He’s sweet, but rarely genuinely so. He’s very rational in his approach and that can lead to him being cold and calculating. He also is a major flirt.
 Derek
…on the other hand is just a really soft teddy bear. He’s been childhood friends with Jon since he moved there. They live only a few streets away, it takes them only a few minutes to get to the others house. There’s a playground between their houses where they like to meet. He likes to just let Jon do the talking and be rather passive. He’s really supportive of him and will defend him fiercely. He’s the type of person that whenever Jon gets up to one of his shenigans (because Jon tends to be mischievous) just shakes his head at them, rolls his eyes and tells him exactly why it is a bad idea. He definitely tries to talk him out of it, but he never succeeds. There is usually a fond smile on his lips though and he secretly doesn’t mind playing along. But someone has to point out why that plan is a bad idea okay???
They’re the two protagonists for a ya novel I’m going to write. It’s going to be fluffy and short with maybe a bit angst I’m still undecided on the exact plot line. I do have basic sketches of them but only idea sketches. As soon as I have actual proper sketches of them I’m going to upload them on my art account ( @zhadyrart that is finally going to be more active hopefully)
Then I think I mentioned at some point that I have a really big project that I’ve been working on since seventh grade. It’s going to be a triology that is called “ragnarok”. It’s set in another dimension where simply said every mythological being and every god that there is exists. All my main characters are “Xi” which are people who have been blessed by gods. I could go on and on about this world and everything behind the Xi but that would take even longer.
Helija
…is the main character. shes human. She’s really sweet and strong but not really independent. She grew up with an abusive mother and without a father in the city of creators. Everyone there is destined to create something new and most people create smaller things. Helija hasn’t created anything yet which is unusual for her age. She is insecure in her abilities even tho she is not bad at most things. She’s rather held back and doesn’t speak much. This changes the more she gets involved with the other characters and establishes her relationships with them.
Sam
…is Helijas best friend and one of the fae. Those two are one heart and one soul and if you let them loose there is going to be a mess. Sam is Helijas enabler and he is one of the few people who actually can bring her out of her shell and can bring her to overcome her fears and anxiety. They have been friends since they turned six despite not meeting until they were sixteen. They exchanged letters because they lived in different parts of the continent. That was part of a program of their mentor ship (which I could also elaborate on) which encourages Xi to form connections with other Xi. He’s funny and kind of a go wild character. He’s always up for anything but definitely also always here for you if you have a problem. He’s stubborn and can be hot headed from time to time. But he just wants the best for everyone and cares like crazy for his friends and family.
Elahir
…is Sams best friend. They have been childhood friends since their birth. He’s also one of the fae. He’s kind of apathic or at least he seems like it. He’s very focused on his thoughts and tends to overthink. He is also extremely stubborn and will always follow his own moral code. If something doesn’t fit with his morals or beliefs he’s not going to do it, no matter what it does to him. Later on he’s going to be Sams boyfriend. He’s non binary and uses he/him and they/them pronouns.
Helena
…is your wonderful girl that you all love. She’s pretty (she and Helija look identical despite not being related) and just has a personality that everyone loves. She’s nice, genuinely so and she is very supportive. She has her shit together and if you need anything organised you go to her. She’s from the city of gods (again I could elaborate) and grew up without parents being taught to be humble. She is being trained to be a temple woman. She is basically your perfect girl™️.She does have a mischievous streak though and if you encourage her she will come up with the wildest things. Of course no one suspects her ever since she is well how she is.
Hector
…is basically the perfect boyfriend to the perfect girl Helena. There is looooots of pining for her but he’s such a respectful golden retriever puppy he never acts on it, especially since when they meet she just has gotten out of her last relationship. I’m basically aiming for a lesbian icon character lmao. Hes a real feminist and hes just super super sweet. He has all those thoughts about romance and love and he really is a true romantic. His and Helena’s relationship is fluff pure. Everyone is just really happy for them bc they really are just do perfect for each other. He grew up in a small fishermen village in a part of the continent (I do have a map but…) where it basically has a climate like in the arctis. He has zero clue about modern things and will be confused. He’s just really really soft and sweet and I love him.
Leanca
…is the girl that Helena just broke up with. They just hit it off after years of fr.iendship, but decided on good terms that it wasn’t working out. It kind of broke Helena’s heart bc she’s a romantic but it was better for their relationship. They are now really good ride or die friends. Leanca is Helena’s enabler. She’ll just be like “he looks like he’s sexist” in a deadpan voice and look at Helena. It doesn’t take long and shenigans ensue. She’s incredibly cool and kind of reeeeally fit. She doesn’t show much facial reactions. She has a flaming sense of justice and will argue with you. Don’t challenge her to a discussion. She will win. And she is right. You’ll question your entire beliefs after a while because wow her arguments make so much sense. Very independent, very strong.
Illaya/Ilaya (not sure yet)
…is an ancient being. She’s not really a god but she’s also not really human. (I don’t 100% know yet what she is actually.) she was the wife of uh well the now bad guy? Her mind has been tainted for hundreds of years and she turned into a mermaid like creature that lived in a lake. She grew sea lily like plants with which she lured beings into the lake where she would devour them. Some eldritch shit. When our protagonists “cleanse” her she returns to her old self and well realised that basically over thousands of years have passed since the land became tainted and she with it. She realises what her husband has become and mourns him. At some point she falls in love with Leanca. But a relationship doesn’t develop really fast because well she is still mourning over her husband and also she has a general crisis going on with all the stuff that has been going on.
 Jack
…is a character from the feral lands. That’s basically another continent and not many people from there come over to the main continent. He came because he was “scouted” and saw a chance to help his family. He’s really motivated by family. He is laid back and cool. He takes things calm and rational. He’s good looking and that goddamn smirk. (He’s a little bit underdeveloped since he used to be a shared oc with my brother)
Olivia
…is Helena’s childhood friend. They grew up together in the city of gods. She’s a punk, she’s freaky and she is always here for all the energetic stuff. She’s great at getting people fired up, at motivating people, but she also is good at listening, even tho she doesn’t give the best advise lol. She gets together with Jack real fast. They just hit it off and run with it. Her hair is purple. She’s wild. (I’m also currently looking into adhd symptoms that she might have.)
There are also cosmic beings that are going to be very important to the story and several other characters but I decided to leave it at those because….. they are already a lot lmao. I’m drawing them so as soon as that happens they’ll be on my artblog.
I also decided to leave the characters of my third main project for now because four more characters. Feel free to ask about them though.
And thank you for this lovely ask!

below is christine’s sample application for ned stark. applications won’t be posted in full with acceptances. this is to provide another example of what i’m looking for in applications. a big thank you to christine for providing this sample, and making me cry over papa wolf! hope this is helpful and enjoy!!
OOC.
name: Christine
age: 26
pronouns: they/them
timezone: EST
triggers: {omitted}
in the game of thrones you win or you die, would you be open to your character dying?: as much as the idea crushes me, it would feel DISHONEST to say no (and I’d be more than happy to play another character after Ned ofc)
anything else: n/a
IN CHARACTER.
full name: Eddard “Ned” Stark
gender + pronouns: nonbinary, he/him    it’s only recent that Ned’s felt comfortable exploring his gender identity and sexuality; raised in a family of cops, there were certain standards of masculinity that were expected of him and he never felt fully comfortable opening that particular box of worms. but within a supporting and loving relationship with a woman he trusts entirely, he’s felt better about exploring that side of himself and admitting that he never fully fit into the boxes he tried to fit into when he was younger.
age & dob: 35, July 21, 1983
faceclaim: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
personality: + he’s reliable, above all: he can be counted on to do what he says he will do, no matter what it is. it makes him easy to trust, easier to understand. straightforward and loyal to those he’s promised his loyalty to. + a compassionate person, he has an understanding and empathetic soul. always willing to listen, to provide a word of advice. x being honorable is a double-edged sword, a coin with two sides: it endears him to some, makes him valued by those who have reason to value him. but it also makes him easy to manipulate – he is not playing the game that everyone else seems to be playing, which means that more often than not he ends up a pawn. x as a father, a husband, a brother, and a friend, he is protective; he’s lost too many people not to be. he’ll defend those he cares about as far as he needs to in order to keep them safe. - with all that, though, comes a naive optimism that can be dangerous in a world like this. it’s not that he expects anyone to be as honorable as he is, not that he doesn’t understand that people lie, and cheat, and steal, and kill. he knows this better than anyone. but he sees no point in going on if he can’t have some kind of hope, can’t let himself see the best in people. - his morality is inflexible, with no shades of gray: there is what’s right and what is wrong. and he knows the world is not so simple– knows people do wrong things for right reasons and right things for wrong reasons, knows there is always a way to blur the line. but that blurring is a slippery slope, and it’s easier to keep focus on that simple binary of right and wrong and let everything else fall into place around it.
headcanons:
( trigger warnings: pregnancy complications, death )
1. His father is a cop. His father is a cop, and his father’s father is a cop, and his father’s father’s father was a cop before that. He grows up in the shadow of it, never a question in his mind of what he would grow up to become: the men in his family, they protect the city, they always have, and so will he, when he’s old enough. Just like his father. Just like his older brother does, a few years before he can.
High school, college, the police academy. He is a star student. He prides himself on being a just and honorable man, just like his father. Just like Brandon. He models himself after them in every fathomable way. He admires them. His father, chief of police. His brother, charismatic and well-loved and engaged to a woman he so clearly adores. They are his heroes: he lives happily in their shadow, feeling a little like a child among giants, like he’ll always be reaching up to try to be as tall as them, like he’ll always be tripping over the shoes they leave to fill.
When they die– both of them, at once, as if one wasn’t enough to shatter him into pieces, as if one wasn’t enough loss to have him grieving for a lifetime– when they die, trying to subdue the riots, to stop the chaos, he tries to fill their shoes. He becomes a part of things, not just a rookie cop but a voice for the people, or, for Robert maybe, or– god, but he gets lost in it. The violence, the chaos, the city in turmoil. It is impossible to see a clear way out, through the fog and the confusion and the grief.
He’s not proud of it. But at the end of the day, all he’s got is the people he has left – Benjen, Robert, Jon – and a determination to never let it happen again.
2. She’s dying, when he finds her. His sister, little Lyanna. She’s always been little Lyanna but he feels it now more than ever, holding her hand in bed, thin and shaking. Complications with a pregnancy he had no idea existed. Complications that an adequate doctor could have fixed, if they’d gotten there in time, if she’d given birth in a hospital where the doctors would have had files about her history of blood clotting, if someone had been there to catch the signs of a pulmonary embolism, if only, if only, if only. If only she hadn’t felt the need to run away, when a pregnancy test confirmed her fears. If only she had felt like she could tell anyone. But she’s dying, already, and he’s not a doctor; he’s barely even a cop, 23 years old and only six months on the force.
There’s nothing you can do, she says, her voice weak. It’s okay, it’s not your fault. Just– promise me something, please.
And he’d promise her anything, in that moment, his little sister, promise her the entire world and do anything he could to deliver. When the doula hands him her son– premature, too small, tiny hands gripping at nothing, tiny mouth searching blindly in the air for a mother to latch onto– he promises.
He leaves Dorne with the baby in his arms, and when the baby starts to cry, he finds that he is crying, too. Can’t stop himself. He has buried too many people, for his age, and all in a year. A father, a brother, a sister. He knows it isn’t true– knows there’s Benjen, still, knows there’s Robert, knows there’s Jon– but for a moment it feels like his world has shrunk down, and the only things left in it are himself and this baby boy and the snow falling around them.
He is a good man. He will be a good father. He will keep every promise to his sister he ever made. He will keep her child safe, call him his own. Tell whatever story he needs to, so that no one knows what Lyanna didn’t want them to know.
3. Cat is… a revelation. An unexpected surprise. He knew her, of course, before it all. Brandon’s girl. He’d looked forward to calling her a sister-in-law, once. She is bright and she is clever and she is kind and she is too much, for him, too good to be true. He’s… trying, as far as fatherhood goes, but he never meant to be a father at 23, at 24. He’s quit the force, living off the meager inheritance his father left behind until Jon is old enough to go to school, because he can’t bear the though of leaving his son alone, of hiring someone else to watch him, of doing anything that might separate them. Because what if something were to happen? What if he were to lose Jon, too?
He agrees to dinner with Cat because he’s always liked her. He’s never thought of her as anything other than Brandon’s girlfriend, Brandon’s fiancee. Never wanted to: they were so in love. Brandon was so happy. Brandon would have done anything for her. He agrees to dinner with Cat because he needs someone who is sharing in his grief, and because she says she knows a great babysitter who can help out for the night.
He doesn’t mean to fall in love.
But she’s not Brandon’s anything, anymore. But Brandon’s gone. And they get along in so much other than their grief. More than he expects. And dinner one time turns into dinner once a week, turns into nights spent together, turns into moving in… and Catelyn makes him a better man. Makes him a better person. Makes him feel like maybe he can actually do it all.
She’s the one who encourages him to start something new. To build something from the wreckage. And so he starts Stark Security – he’s got the skills he needs, after all, even if he isn’t willing to risk his life anymore. Even if he isn’t willing to risk his family.
And they start a family.
4. Fatherhood suits him, it turns out. First Robb and then Sansa, and then the twins so soon after. And Jon, of course, a few years older than them all, and growing up so well. Just entering his moody pre-teen years. Stark Security means he can sit behind a desk, keep a regular 9-5, pick the kids up from school and be home in time for dinner every night. He takes up cooking, old family recipes. He reads bedtime stories and helps kids out of baths and into fleece footie pajamas. His face is sore from smiling, his voice hoarse from laughing. His chest feels warm, and large, and full, when he hears his childrens’ voices.
The loss still hits him, sometimes, like a wrecking ball. He wants to tell his father about something funny Sansa said. He wants to show Brandon a picture of the twins. He wants big family cookouts on warm June evenings. He wants someone to tell him they’re proud of him.
But there are better things to fill the gaps, better balms to salve the wounds. His kids, they give him purpose, give him a reason to get up in the morning and try to be a better person every single day. And his family gives him something to fight for, something to protect. They make him want to make Westeros a better place again.
INTERVIEW
vi. do you feel fulfilled in life?
“I do. I really do. When I quit being a cop, I thought I might never feel that way again. You know how it is: you grow up around all that, you start to think there’s one right path towards fulfillment or whatever. But my kids– It’s worth everything else I’ve ever lost, just to have them.  They make me feel fulfilled every day, even if they’re a handful sometimes.”
vii. have you ever lost someone you loved?
“Yeah,” he says, and it comes out more as an exhale than as a real word, hardly any voice behind it. Just the word is enough that he almost gets lost in it, the memories. Dad and Brandon’s funeral – one funeral, two caskets, and the way the sky opened up as soon as they’d been lowered into the ground like the world knew how impossible it would be to go on without them. Lyanna, and all the secrets she carried with her when she went, all on her own. Sometimes, he remembers it and he thinks for a minute it might break him. It might, except that he’s got people now who will help him keep going.
“Yeah, a couple a’ people. It’s– it sucks, doesn’t it?”
Tumblr media
ix. who was your last text to, and what did it say?
“Let’s see,” he says, sliding his phone from his pocket and unlocking it with his thumbprint. Opens texts, scrolling back through one or two unanswered ones to the last one he sent…  CATELYN 😍 displayed across the top of the screen, and a few messages in a row below it, hey babe omw home / picking up dinner want me to pick up anything else? / 😉 /  maybe–
As he reads the messages that follow, he can feel his cheeks grow warm, blushing slightly. Maybe not the most appropriate series of messages to read out loud… He clears his throat, scrolls back one message father.
“It was to Robert,” he says, before reading it out loud: “The good donut shop or the cheap one?”

It’s funny how this anon doesn’t see Gendry’s importance when there’s many other characters who by this point contribute nothing to the story. I mean take Bronn with his wit, Podrick, Gilly, Grey worm or even Sandor who has become a one liner machine. Killing those characters wouldn’t affect the story much. Whereas Gendry actually has a purpose to serve. There’s no coincidence that he’s the only blacksmith in the show we know and a really good one too.He has a skill that could save them all.
While I appreciate the sentiment about Gendry, anon, me sticking up for his importance wasn’t me agreeing that other characters I may like less don’t have a purpose next season, eep!
I think the point is that everyone we have left is an underdog in some way, and really, the point of the series is that all of these people must come together - to contribute whatever it is they can in order to help save the world.
Alright, let’s go over the list:
Podrick has been training with Brienne, and we’re almost certainly going to see that paid off.
Grey Worm is still the commander of the Unsullied, they’re absolutely going to be involved in the epic showdown with the Army of the Dead.
Bronn was able to shoot Drogon. There’s a good chance he might get employed to aim at Viserion next season, hopefully injuring him enough to give the other dragons an advantage.
Sandor is going to play some part in defeating the Mountain (though I personally buy into the theory that Arya will land the killing blow). Further, based on the ‘SanSan’ foreshadowing in the books (some of which has carried over in the show) - it’s safe to assume that Sandor just might help or protect Sansa in some measure next season. His ability to see things in the flames might resurface, too.
Gilly may play a part in aiding Daenerys through her pregnancy and/or birth alongside Sam. Further, there might be something up with Little Sam, being Craster’s 100th son and all (he was recast for S8 and again, if he has no importance, why bother?) Gilly had some interesting dialogue cut from the S7 script, describing her scene here (spoiler warning):
“It’s actually an extended version of the scene from ‘Eastwatch’ where Gilly reads about 'Ragar’ Targaryen and inadvertently stumbles upon the secret of Jon Snow’s true parentage. In the deleted portion, Gilly also discovered something much more personal. According to Murray, Gilly read a book titled 'Legend of the Long Night’, which contained a story about a wildling who sacrificed his sons to the White Walkers. That, of course, sounds very much like what Gilly’s father Craster did to his own sons, and what almost happened to Baby Sam.”
Whether there’s zero payoff regarding Little Sam, it’s safe to say that assuming he survives, he’s probably going to need a mother, so hopefully Gilly does survive. (There’s actually book foreshadowing that suggests she will!)
Lastly, one of my favorite theories is that this whole story is ultimately about… children. Thus making parents quite necessary! ♥

I have a rather random question for you...what do you think Harry the heir will be like in the books and what direction do you think his relationship with Sansa will take? I’m nervous it will be an abusive relationship similar to (though not nearly as bad as) Ramsay. Perhaps that is why d&d felt like they could have Sansa marry Ramsay in the show cause she has a similar storyline in the books anyways. I hope not, I mean we can tell from the Winds of winter chapter that he’s not particularly
Nice or ‘good’ and his reputation is not stellar but I hope he surprises us as a more complicated character and I hope there is real affection between them. Well as real as it can get with lies and manipulation involved. I like to think of their potential relationship similar to Ygritte and Jons. The parallels are already there with Jon and Sansa both essentially under-cover and on a mission. Both bastards and in training. Ygritte also can not be characterized as a typically ‘moral’ or ‘good’
Dear nonny, first of all let me say that we do know the reason why the show merged the storylines of fArya and Sansa : to get Sansa to the North. It was said by the show runners, that there are only some chapters in the Vale. So, why some people still think that the books will have Sansa in the Vale for ages, I don't know. But apart from that, I can relate very much to your feelings! Back in the times when I just used to ship Sansa with happiness and had just read AFFC I had high hopes for Harry, just as I had hopes for Willas Tyrell. Classic POV trap there. I shared my hopes with Sansa. When the WOW chapter was released, I was of two minds. Harry didn't come over as exactly nice - he left a woman who became too fat after birthing a child after all - but I thought that maybe Sansa could make him love her. I don't really like the trope 'womaniser just needs the right woman to become faithful', but Sansa's first meeting with Harry also gave me 'enemies to lovers' vibes. And GRRM has shown time and again how he can add multiple layers to a personality. Just think of Jaime. So, I thought that maybe, just maybe there is some potential there. I really liked how Sansa reacted to Harry's disdain of her as a bastard. Nevertheless, there were outward reasons that made me wary of the Vale plot. Littlefinger 's Plan is too intricate, too much influenced by his own obsession with Sansa - which makes him forget that not everybody will be after Sansa like he himself is - too confident that nobody will recognise Sansa. Like Doran's big plan it is bound to fail at least in part. And one of the easiest ways to have it fail is for Harry to die. He was not called the 'young falcon' for nothing. @lostlittlesatellites has written a number of posts on the foreshadowing in the Vale and I agree with her that something will go wrong. A 'tourney mishap'? It would be somewhat funny if Sweetrobin was not the one to die, but Harry. We still might see Harry as a fully formed and at least in part sympathetic person, though, even if he will die. Ygritte had doomed written all over her for her own reasons, and still she has many likeable traits. I think that you pointed out a really interesting parallel! Ygritte can be brutal and there were some characteristics Jon didn't like about her ('wildling to the bone'), but he loved her nonetheless. I think it is a sign of a generous heart to love even though you don't agree with the person in everything. And Sansa is prepared to do her best to find likeable traits, although I dare say she is much more wary than she was in the case of the Willas match. She is less naive about her approach. While she fantasized about her betrothal to Willas, she only planned to be nice to him. With Harry she is more subtle and schools herself to not react like she would do spontaneously. And this is indeed something that fits to the Ygritte parallel and the situation of deceit. In comedy the deceit would come out by accident and the story would end with Sansa pleading Harry to forgive her that she lied to him because she really fell for him along the way. But ASOIAF is no comedy and I doubt we'll get such an easy solution for the deceit situation... I mean Littlefinger honestly believes that Harry will be pleased about Sansa being the Stark heiress, but I doubt it. He might feel generous about marrying a bastard and then it comes out that Sansa is his equal and that she'll expect him to go to war for her claim? If Rickon or Robb's will is already found by that time it is not even a clear-cut claim! Imagine graciously agreeing to marry a Bastard only to realise you signed up for a full fledged war in the middle of Winter.... Not funny, no pleasant surprise, not for someone who likes his own fun far too much. There is also an argument which I can't remember exactly where I read it, that what Sansa does in the WOW chapter is called 'negging' and that she'll pay a price for that. If anybody knows who wrote that please add the name on the notes! So, I do think that Sansa and Harry are bound to end in disaster. But that doesn't rule out that there might be attraction, fondness, infatuation. I doubt it will be love at least on Sansa's side, because I think that GRRM wants her to stay oblivious to the pull of real love up until the moment she realises that she has fallen for the man she thinks is her half-brother. She will learn to avoid the tricks Littlefinger taught her after the Harry story, I'm sure!As for when this will happen, I don't know. My preference is for Sansa to be the 'girl in grey' which would mean that she arrives North midway on WOW, but it could also happen that Jon and Sansa only reunite in front of the walls of Winterfell. Thanks for the ask!

So I haven't read the books...
...but from what I have gathered from the discourse, there is quite the difference between book characters and show characters?
This is based on what I’ve read of book characters and what I’ve seen on the show:
Book Stannis: Actually a good king, loved Shireen and wanted her on the throne after him, didn’t seem like a religious fanatic.
Show Stannis: iron throne is mine, do whatever Mel, kill innocent people, give birth to my demon murder baby, heck burn my only daughter Mel why the fuck not
Book Mel: Her morality is kind of a grey area? She’s not a heartless murderer but will make sacrifices for the “greater good”
Show Mel: here ya go boobs omg Jon touch my boobs also lets burn Shireen umm have I mentioned I have boobs also I'm secretly super old here ya go saggy boobs
Book Dany: Did not act like her father’s daughter? Also not 100% fireproof?
Show Dany: iron throne is mine okay so bend the knee why isn't everyone here bending the knee when i tell them I am fireproof okay and did you look at my dragons wait what was I talking about? oh yeah I can't have children
Book Jon: Capable of making smart decisions, funny at times, will do his duty even if it makes him the bad guy, actually cared about his siblings being alive
Show Jon: *pouts* i saw the dead okay *pouts more* they are real okay I saw them why won't anyone believe me *pouting intensifies* what do you mean I have really kissable lips
Book Jaime: Pushes Bran out the window and then begins an interesting redemption arc and you strangely find yourself rooting for him, might even be the PTWP
Show Jaime: is so unbelievably daft at times even Nikolaj is like, I don't know him.
Book Petyr: Cunning- keeps his cards so close to himself no one knows what his goal is or that he is even playing the game
Show Petyr: i love Sansa i want Sansa have i mentioned yet that my end goal is sitting with Sansa on the iron throne? also raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized just by my creepy grin.
Book Arya: Loves her family, misses them all, would hurt those who hurt them
Show Arya: ooh Sansa I bet you felt nice in all your pretty dresses now how about we play a game where I cut your face and wear it lol missed our fun games sis

“My mom is better than yours” - Batmom x Damian Wayne
Summary : The Kent family have invited your family over for dinner, and of course, as usual, Damian and Jon don’t quite...behave.
I just wanted to write a short little cute fic with Damian and his mama because I just love the idea of Damian being super proud of his Batmom and blahblahblah maybe it’s a bit too long sorry. I hope you will like it :
You can find my masterlist here : @ella-ravenwood-archives
_________________________________________________
Tumblr media
Bruce thought it was extremely cute, how Damian’s eyes always seem to shine when looking at you. How his face brightens. Even how ashamed he is when you scold him when he’s too cocky, or simply being a plain brat.
The kid thought you were just the best damn thing on this planet.
He admired everything you did...
The Batman had to admit it, sometimes, he was a bit jealous.
But mostly, he just thought it was really cute, to see his boy completely accepting you as his mother. Hell, he was even calling you “Mama” (damn period dramas) now !
You were the one he considered his mom (Talia actually tried to kill you a few times because of that, jealous beyond everything of you and the love “her” son seemed to have for you...She tried harder when Damian told her that she was “never his mom”, that you showed him what a real mother was, and also, when she realized how in love Bruce was with you, while she had to drug him to get him to sleep with her...Yeah, pretty jealous. You always pulled through though, mostly thanks to your boys, husband and superfriends).
Well, to be honest, he never doubted the fact that you’d get along with him. You had a special effect on people. If you really put your mind to it, you can convince anyone to do what you want, you can win anyone’s heart in a little flutter of your damn beautiful eyelashes...
When Damian first met you, he was most disagreeable, and you...grounded him. “Young man, in your room, no dessert for you tonight”, and he was so stunned that he did it, though he didn’t even listen to his father at the time, and thought he knew everything better than everyone ! He knew you only for a few minutes, and he already had more respect for you than for anyone else.
Sometimes, Bruce suspected that you might be a meta-human, because the power you could have over people with your magnificent aura was...something. But he tested you in every way possible, and he had to admit that, you were just like him. A simple human. A simple human with incredible abilities.
Yes. Bruce always thought it was extremely cute the way his son, your son to the both of you, almost worshipped you.
Well, your older kids did too. Again, there was just a way about you...
You started dating Bruce when he first took young Richard Grayson in, about twelve years ago (right after Talia drugged him actually), when he was barely 8 years old and heartbroken because of his parents’ death...And though you were merely twenty, quite younger than Bruce really, you took your job as a surrogate mother for Dick very seriously. Quickly, the boy asked you if he could call you mom, if his own mother would be mad and...well, the hug you gave him was answer enough. Though he was twenty and had his own flat in Bludhaven now, Dick was still quite the momma’s boy.
It was pretty much the same with Jason. You winked at him and told him it was pretty cool and brave to try and steal the batmobile’s wheels, and boom, you had him wrapped around your little fingers. He lived for your bedtime stories and cuddle when he had trouble sleeping.
Tim was even easier to treat you like his mom. After only a few months he was already introducing you as his mother, and that was that. Just natural. Unlike Jason and Dick, his birth mother wasn’t exactly...the best, and you gave him a chance to have a real mom. One that would die for her son, do anything for him,  even if it meant staying up all night to sing him soothing songs while he had the flu, putting ridiculous costumes to go trick or treating with him, or, more recently, since he was now 15 (already ?!), gaming with him until you’d both pass out out of exhaustion.
Quite like Tim, Damian never had the love of a “real” mother. How it should be. The mom taking care of her son, no matter what. Not letting him do whatever he wants, but making sure he’s happy...and so, just like his older brothers before him, he came to simply adore you.
Once, Bruce took him up to the League’s watchtower to see you because it was your turn to watch over the World (and though he would never admit it that it was the actual reason, because he was missing you), and everyone present were shocked to see how much of a different boy he was with you.
When with you, he was nice, unsure sometimes, but you always got words to calm his insecurities and self-doubts. When with you, he was the sweetest little twelve year old boy ever. When with you, he wasn’t bratty at all, and didn’t look down on anyone. He was himself, the boy he should have been if the League of Assassin didn’t steal his childhood. It was obvious he would protect you at all cost, and the love you had for him knew no bound.
Yes, the relationship between you and your son was a tight one. And though it made Bruce jealous on occasions, as he had more difficulties bonding with Damian, he was sure glad that you had each others, and his heart always beat fast when he sees you two laugh together because one or the other made a stupid joke.
Of course, most of the times, you’d include him in too. Damian was glad that his father would join (though he’d never admit it) and you...Well, Bruce was the love of your life, you always enjoyed spending time with him. And you tried everything you could for him to get along with Damian, succeeding often but...sometimes Bruce just felt like he had to leave the two of you together.
But sometimes, he hated it too. When the both of you would create an alliance against him...and tickle him until he begged for you to stop for example (he would throw you off of him, but he was to afraid to hurt you for that). Or when you voted against him on a movie choice...Well to be honest, chances are, if you really want to watch a movie, you’ll convince everyone to watch it, even him. But yeah, it could be very frustrating how close you and Damian were, partner in crime till the end and all.
Like today. Though it wasn’t so much frustrating as it was annoying. But he kinda expected it...As soon as you and him accepted the invite to dinner over the Kents, he knew that things wouldn’t go all smooth.
************
You’re the one that convinced Bruce to say “yes” to Clark when he asked you guys if you wanted to come over for dinner next Friday. Because you thought it was important for your boys to get out of Gotham sometimes. You convinced Bruce to go over Metropolis, and let Batgirl and Batwoman take care of Gotham. To enjoy some family times. And hey, he could never resist you.
Turned out though, that Dick was busy that night, he didn’t exactly told you what he was busy with, but it involved one of his friend’s twenty first birthday.
Jason too, wasn’t available, as he promised Starfire and Arsenal to keep his free night of the week for them (you made a deal a long time ago, with all the members of your family, that at least one night a week, they’d rest).
Tim had an important project to finish for school, and was freaking out enough for you not to force him to come.
So much for a nice family outing...Still, you knew you were gonna enjoy that dinner in Metropolis, with your youngest and your beloved husband.
Maybe you thought too fast...
************
Your helicopter ride from Gotham to Metropolis was fast and pleasant, as you looked down at the landscape going through, while the sun was settling down.
You expected a car to wait for you to bring you to the Kent’s house but...Well, Kent was there himself.
-Hey (Y/N), nice to see you ! Bruce, Damian !
Clark calls, with a bright smile. He kisses you on the cheek (you two feign to ignore Bruce stiffening slightly) and shakes your husband and son’s hand.
-Hey Clark, it’s nice to see you too. Hi Jon.
You plant a kiss on Superman’s boy, and he blushes a bit. Damian glares at him...How dare he ? Yeah ok you’re the one that gave him a kiss, but...well, only him and his brothers had the right to be kissed on the cheek by you like that !
You looked at your son, and gave him “that look” that meant : “behave, or else...”, of course, he didn’t know what the “or else” was, but he would never risk it. You could be scary when angry (he still remembers you kicking his highly trained biological mother’s ass after he came back to life and she came back to try to take him away with her...it was frightening, the way you fought and was furious).
You give the same look to Bruce, as you can see him already frowning, and he straighten and forces a smile for Clark.
Superman cannot stop himself from chuckling. Oh you were one of his best friend, and he just loved the way you put the bat back in his place. Though, his smug expression annoyed you and...you gave him the look too, making his smirk fall from his face.
The only one you didn’t glare at was Jon, who just seemed genuinely happy to be here, and was smiling widely at you. You smiled back, making Damian glare some more (while you weren’t looking at him).
************
-Oh gosh Lois, you surpassed yourself this time !
You smile brightly at your host, and she smiles back, but before she can respond to your praise, you hear your boy’s voice say :
-Tt. I think you’re a better cook mother.
You don’t even have time to give the famous “batmom glare at your son” that Jon jumps in, standing up, pointing his fork at his “friend” :
-Hey ! That’s enough ! You’ve been saying your mom is better than mine all night. You think you’re sly and discreet about it but I can hear you with my super hearing and there’s only so much I can take ! You shut up now !
It’s funny, how neither you nor Lois, or your respective husband, are able to utter even a word, or to say anything, because those two boys just ignore you all and oh god now they’re standing in front of each other in a fighting stance.
-It isn’t my fault if my mom is better than yours !
-No she isn’t ! No one’s better than my mum ! And she’s the best cook !
-Oh really ? Remember when you came home last week and said it was the best meal you ever ate ? SHE cooked it because Alfred wasn’t feeling well !
-It was only a figure of speech ! To be nice !
-Right sure, doesn’t even matter, you still said it was the best, hence, my mom is the best cook !
Jon’s fist tighten, and Bruce and Clark are ready to intervene any minute...just if necessary though, because they’re more and more curious about how this little debate is going to end. Will their mother stop them ? Or will they let them go to see who had more arguments about which one was the best mom ?
According to your amused smile, and Lois’ curious look, they guessed it was gonna be the latter option. Good.
-Ok, maybe, but my mom’s smarter ! She won a pulitzer price !
-She only won one because she wrote something about your father ! It’s easy to write about something you know so well and love ! Besides, she had him there for any questions she wanted to ask !
Clark exchange a loving look with Lois at the fond memories of her story on him. Yes, he was definitely always there when she had a question...
-But she still won a pulitzer price ! Did you mom won a pulitzer price ?
-No, but her books sold millions more than your mom’s ! And intelligence isn’t measured by the ability to write !
-Yeah well then why d’you say she sold more books if it doesn’t matter ?
-Because it proves she’s the best !
-It only proves people buy her stuffs because her name is “Wayne” !
At  those words, you stiffen a bit, and now, Bruce and Clark are ready to stop you should you jump on Jon for his words...You hated when people attributed your success as a writer to you being married to the famous Mr. Wayne, because you were selling millions of books before you even met him ! Fortunately, your son is there to defend you :
-Don’t talk about what you don’t know ! She was selling millions even before she even started dating my dad !  And I’m pointing it out really because she’s way more successful in the writing area than your mom, so she’s the best !
-She didn’t win a pulitzer price !
-Only because they said they wouldn’t give it to her because everyone would think it was because she was a Wayne !
-I thought she was selling millions before being a Wayne !
-Yeah, when she was not even twenty, they thought her writing was still too immature to earn a pulitzer, and then she got with my dad and now she can’t win one without people saying she cheated so...And besides your mom didn’t even had her own regular articles in the Daily Planet before she reached 34 !
It was Lois’ turn to stiffen. She gave you a glance, meaning something like : “Hey, your kid’s going too far there, it’s not easy to be journalist in a place like Metropolis !”, but before you can scold your son, Jon continues :
-It’s not because she became famous later that she’s not more worthy and a better writer than your mom ! And even if Mrs Wayne is better at that, well she’s still less smart !
-My mom has four PHD, and she got them before she was twenty one ! She’s a genius !
-...Oh yeah ? Well my mom can dance like no one !
-I bet she’s not as good as my mom.
Your boys whip around to face the two of you and...Are they waiting for you guys to dance ? Oh no way Jose you’re not going to dance to settle a stupid fight.
************
You ended up dancing. And playing chess. And attempting backflips. Oh, not forgetting the famous “best scolding mom contest”...And of course, the famous “most creative punishment you can come up with on the spot if your kid misbehave”...Your sons showered the two of you under waterfalls of compliments, and though Lois gave a good fight, you won all of the “contest” Damian and Jon created, in front of slightly lost husbands. How did that happen again ? How did they arrive here, right there right now, answering questions their sons asked like “Who would you say is the best kisser ? Hey mom, kiss Superman so he can now, and Mrs. Kent, kiss my dad, so it’s settled”...They were wondering how it happened when it seemed like it was finally the end of the “best mom war” between Damian and Jon.
And there was a winner.
You.
Though you clearly didn’t care, and neither did Lois really. She already knew you were better than her at most things, but you were cheating. You were indeed a genius, who got trained by the goddamn Batman ever since she was twenty ! Of course you’d be better than her...No hard feeling though, because you had no idea you were better. Hell, you were so full of insecurities that you most often didn’t know you were better than most people you met. On the contrary, you always thought people were superior to you, no matter what your sons and husband would say.
Lois thought it was cute, how oblivious you were. Even then, in front of your son and his friend fighting and proving you were better, you still didn’t believe it, not reacting at all.
-HAHA ! SO IT’S DONE ! My mother is the best.
Damian says triumphantly. Jon grumbles a weak answer, cross his arms and turn away, and even your son gotta admit that his pout is very cute and he feels just a bit guilty. Really just a bit, cause he just proved his mother was the best, as he always knew. He turns to you, smiling and...Oh, you don’t look happy.
Why don’t you look happy ? He said so many nice things about you...In front of his unsure face, you cannot help but smile, but you don't come to him. No, you go to Jon, and turn his face to you.
-Hey Jonny boy.
The boy doesn’t answer, looking worriedly at his own mother. He wasn’t able to defend her against a verbal attack, what would he do if he had to defend her against actual enemies ? Actual bad guys, and not just his best friend being annoying ? You continue :
-You know, it doesn’t matter what Damian says. Of course for him I’m going to be the best, I’m his mom. And of course Lois is the best in your eyes, she’s yours. It doesn’t matter those little games you settled. The only thing that matters, is what you feel in your heart.
With a sigh of defeat, Jon says :
-But you won everything. You’re the best !
You shake your head and gives him a gentle smile, ignoring your son’s scoff (you’ll deal with him later). You add :
-Again, it doesn’t matter. Only your heart Jon, only your heart. What do you feel in your heart ?
Shyly, Jon turns to you and say :
-That my mom is the best.
-Then your mom is the best.
-...really ?
-Yes.
-As simple as that ?
-Yes. Everything don’t have to be a fair competition with rules and such. Some things cannot be explained. Like the love from a son to a mother...
You turn to your own kid, and grab him by the arm, squeezing him in your arms. Damian’s eyes widen in surprise, and he’s too stunned to react.
-...Or the love from a mother to a son.
Jon now smiles widely, showing all of his teeth, and goes to hug his own mom. Of course, Lois wraps him up in a loving embrace (you can almost hear your two idiots of husbands sighing because of the cuteness of the scene, their wives holding their kids like that).
-I love you my boy, so so so so so so much.
You whisper in Damian’s ear. He cannot help but smile, and hugs you back, ignoring his surrounding. It’s just you and him. In each others arms. You’ll never let him go, he knows.
-I love you too mom. More than so so so so so so much. You’re the best. Truly.
You chuckle lowly, and finally pull away from his embrace. You turn to Jon who let go of his mom too. Yyou can feel Damian stiffens as the other boy grins at him provocatively, like “see, my mom too is the best, your mom said it herself”.
You know you have to diffuse the bomb before it starts all over again, and you say :
-Jon, didn’t you speak about a new fighting video games you got for your birthday, and how great you are at it ?
Jon’s face lightens :
-I’m the best at it !
Damian scoffs and says :
-Oh yeah ? I’d like to see that !
-Well, you two can go play AFTER dessert !
Lois tells them. And they’re totally fine with this, yes, after dessert. That’s great. Just like said dessert, so good.
**********
You sip on your coffee cup as you look tenderly at your boy and Jon playing video games in the living room. Lois is next to you and sighs :
-Oh they’re so cute.
-Yes Lois, yes they are...But my son’s cuter.
She snaps her gaze on you, but cannot help but laugh at your mischievous smile and wink. Oh you. She was glad you were amongst her friends.
Unknowing to the both of you, your husband were staring at you, love and awe in their eyes, a stupid smile on their faces. They finally snapped out of their confused haze as to what was happening (took them long enough, so long in fact, that you didn’t even hear their voice of the entire evening), and were looking over their son with pride that they defended their mother so fiercely...Clark, with a content sigh, says :
-Damn I love her. She’s just so awesome.
-Yes,Lois is great but...(Y/N)’s so much better. And you know it. Everyone does. Even your kid. And I love her more than you love Lois. No questions about that.
FIN.
