The Beautiful Mess of Jen Shah

I feel bad for Jen Shah. I actually think she doing a lot of extravagant things for fun and to occupy her because of her loneliness. 

That’s probably also the reason why she has a squad.

And the way Heather Gay supported her was so inspirational. She’s like “The Jen Shah Whisperer” or something. She was such a good friend.

But she sure steered clear of her during the fight with Meredith Marks though. 

She was more concerned about guarding her lollipop chicken drumsticks, which was hilarious. I adore Heather! I want her to be my friend as well.

And can we take a moment to appreciate all the things we has been served by these new housewives so far, after only 4 episodes? 

I didn’t not think that these religious women was gonna be this entertaining!

It makes way more sense that Jen’s extra sensitive as it the one year anniversary of her father’s death. 

She’s lonely and grieving. It’s something broken about her in this episode that tore my heart.

Jen really lost it at this party. She had been drinking on the way to Whitney Rose’s 1920’s party and was furious when she showed up. 

She yelled at Lisa Barlow that Mary Cosby “fucked her grandfather”.

All the women can talk about after this party is Jen’s epic meltdown.

Well, almost. Meredith finally tells Lisa that she’s separated from her husband, but they’re trying to work it out.

And Lisa’s reaction made me like her a little bit! She has been a mean girl since the premiere, but I’m starting to warm up to her.

I’m also releaved that Meredith owns that she’s not happy with her cold home. 

I could easily write a whole post solely about my grievances about her and Lisa’s homes.

Mary on the other hand thinks it’s a good idea to bring the women together for a classy luncheon where they can talk about their issues now. 

Which speaks a little volume to how Mary’s mind works. As we know from the trailer this luncheon doesn’t go well for Mary and Jen.

The Gorgeous Confessional Looks

Are these new housewives just going to outshine the entire franchise and show them how it’s done this season? 

This is epic! Their confessional looks were just so good, I just had to make a little appreciation post about it. 

How wonderful it is to see some pre-quarantine confessional again!

1. Meredith Marks

Meredith looks amazing in hot pink, just as she did on her birthday party. She actually has three confessional looks in this episode, but this my favorite.

2. Jen Shah

She’ll have a lot of iconic confessionals, I can tell. Jen runs the show, and she’s bossy, funny and entertaining. I’m getting true OG vibes from her.

3. Whitney Rose

Was this on purpose? A little bit of business, a little bit of naughty fun. She did have an affair at work after all. I’m intrigued.

4. Heather Gay

I actually like both of Heather’s confessional looks. My favorite is this though. Proper Ice Queen for the Winter Wonderland in Salt Lake City.

5. Mary Cosby

I actually like this confessional look. I also like the combination with the red pants here. But the leather jacket look is a little messy one.

6. Lisa Barlow

As a New Yorker I’m a little disappointed in her confessional looks. But this is just the beginning and I liked her outfit at the birthday party, so there’s hope.

She Who is Not With Me is Against Me

The housewives of Salt Lake City are giving us so much! More has happend in one episode than the entire season of RHOC right now. 

And we’re only on the third episode!

Some seems to think that these ladies are being “too much” as if that was a bad thing for housewives. 

But I can agree on Meredith Marks’ son, Brooks being a little too much.

I think it’s a reach to say that Jen Shah was flashing her vagina. But Meredith claims that there’s more to the story…

When Brooks said that he took the semester off school to take care of his mother during the separation, my heart melted a little bit.

But then he ruined it by adding that he was working on his clothing line as well. What an opportunist.

I wonder what the rest of the story is, according to the Marks. Please, give us the details! While I’m not entirely sold on her son, I like Meredith. 

When Brooks denied her to have Jen on sleepover, things escalates with the Hospital Fragrance feud between Jen and Mary Cosby for some reason.

Jen is now totally against Mary, even though I thought they had moved on after the skiing trip. 

She wants the women to pick a side and views Meredith’s visit to Mary’s church as a betrayal.

In my opinion Jen is far too sensitive to still be this upset with Mary, and now she wants to bring Meredith into the mess as well? 

But it gave us the frase “Bitch, vote!”, so I can’t be that upset.

I’m a little bothered that I was moved by the scene at Mary’s church. I would say that I’m spiritually open, but I don’t like to be duped.

I’ve tried to find out more about Mary’s so-called cult, but it’s difficult to fact check the rumors.

However, it was clear to see that this meant something to Whitney Rose’s dad. I just want him to find happiness and self-worth again.

If it’s one housewife that gives her all this season, it’s Whitney! 

I feel like I’ve been reading her diaries throughout her choices in life only by her confessionals three episodes in.

Audio Tapes of Jen Shah Leaked!

Fans question if Jen Shah is abusive to her Shah Squad after some audio tapes has been leaked to the social media.

I’ve listened to it and she goes off like Christian Bale did on a technician during “Terminator Salvation”.

The poor guy she’s screaming at is allegedly the fashion designer named Koa Johnson. He was hired to design custom couture and gowns for her.

He quit working for her after the reunion wrapped. His “final straw” was apparently when she wouldn’t give him credit for designing her dress.

The parts of the audio that I’ve heard was this:

“Do you know how many fucking nights you were at my fucking house and I was up at night because of your fucking bullshit? Do you, Do you?! Okay, guess what… do I blame you and say it’s your fault? ‘Hey Bravo, it’s Koa’s fault, it’s his fault!’ No, it’s my fault! So own your fucking shit!”

Throughout her entire rant you don’t hear any comebacks from Koa. He’s taking a submissive role to not escalating the situation.

“How old are you, huh? How fucking old are you? It’s acceptable where you came from? Your parents taught you how to fucking lie? You think anybody wants to be with a fucking liar. This is going to affect you for the rest of your life, your fucking reputation, your credibility, everything! How fucking dare you do this to me!?”

He has also apparently released a statement saying

“I’ve been protecting this woman for way too long. […] In the ten months I spent working, I have been verbally assaulted, I had to work all hours, through the night, mostly unpaid.”

This is bad. She needs to go to anger management.

There was a moment at the reunion when Heather Gay and Whitney Rose called her behaviour as “aggressive”, which became a race issue.

But what else can you call this behaviour?! I understand Wendy Osefo’s point about not judging women of color as aggressive for no apparent reason.

I’ve seen some fans being upset with Jen for playing the race card to get sympathy for her behaviour.

I saw a video tape of Jen when she blew up on her Shah Squad, and you can clearly see that she’s throwing a water bottle before she leaves the room.

Jen is confrontational, ridiculing the guy and talks about how she wants to go at him with boxing gloves. 

I now agree with Heather’s comment from the reunion: “This is aggressive.”

Some shady fans started a hashtag #SaveLisaBarlow as Lisa Barlow was the only one supporting Jen at the reunion. 

What’s Lisa thinking about this audio then? 

Someone better talk about this in season 2.
