sometimes i forget not everyone knows the theory that lightbringer is and always has been a dragon, and that the azor ahai story is the story of someone bringing about dragons to bring balance to fire/ice. and thus dany is azor ahai reborn and drogon is lightbringer

-there’s an asshai story about the birth of the first dragons that says the moon was a dragon’s egg. the moon touched the sun and the moon cracked open to release the dragons

-the azor ahai story goes that he tries 3 time to forge lightbringer, the third requiring the willing sacrifice of his wife ended up cracking the moon and forging the flaming sword

-dany tries 3 times to hatch her dragon eggs, the 3rd requiring her willing sacrifice (walking into the flames)

-dany and drogo are frequently referred to as the moon and the sun, respectively, and dany (the moon) steps into the pyre with drogo (the sun) and the eggs crack and the dragons are released

-drogon’s egg hatches last, and the book says it sounded like the world cracked open, dragons return for the first time in living memory

so we’ve got the original azor ahai cracking the moon, the moon in established folklore has been viewed as a dragon’s egg, drogon’s egg cracks like the planet is breaking. hence, the asshai myth is another culture’s take on the azor ahai/dragon origin story. and dany hatching drogon IS dany forging lightbringer.

Creating a breadcrumb trail with David Duchovny's personal growth.

Uh, Seth Meyers is a great guy-- really nice guy. And I get how his show's so successful because, as we talked about on the podcast, um, you kind of have to be yourself-- close to yourself-- if you're gonna "portray" yourself, y'know, fifty weeks out of the year, five nights a week. And people aren't... ultimately thinking that you're fake. And his generosity in listening, the generosity of his spirit comes across. And that's what-- aside from his abilities as a writer, his sharpness as an observer, his sharpness as, as a comedy writer-- this is what makes him a successful late night television host.

Y'know, I think.... One of the things I didn't ask him about was: when, when there's a kind of shattering between the host and the person-- as we witnessed, I guess a couple years ago, Ellen Degeneres. Y'know, when a disconnect happens between who we think that person is; and... y'know, who, who that person's exposed to be, whether rightly or wrongly. Y'know. I don't really have a horse in that race; I don't.... I don't know what the truth is-- but there was certainly.... That was a... interesting moment, when people felt-- they feel betrayed, y'know. So, I think when you're going into that profession, um, "I'm going to be in your living rooms, people, every day"-- you kind of have to be who you are. 'Cause, if you're not, there's gonna to be a moment... there's gonna be a moment when you're not; and that moment's gonna come out. Uh, I think. Anyway. I think it's a dance, right?

Uh, what I didn't get to ask him about was-- he does this segment called 'Jokes Seth Can't Tell'; and, uh, they tell jokes from their, the perspective of their identities that white cisgendered Seth can't. It's kind of a fascinating commentary. I wanted to talk to him about that, or hear his, what he feels about that. Because it's... it's a way of having your cake and eating it too that I really appreciate-- because it's clever. Um, I don't know if he does that anymore, but it was certainly something that I, uh, that I noticed.
