they want to talk about mental illness and acceptance and how everyone is a little ocd it's cute and quirky and their "intrusive thoughts" are about cutting their hair off and you say yours are about taking a razorblade to your eye and they say ew can you not and everyone is a little adhd sometimes! except if you're late it's a personality flaw and it's because you are careless and cruel (and someone else with adhd mentions they can be on time, so why can't you?) and it's not an eating disorder if it's girl dinner! it's not mania if it's girl math! what do you mean you blew all of your savings on nonrefundable plane tickets for a plane you didn't even end up taking. what do you mean that you are afraid of eating. get over it. they roll their little lips up into a sneer. can you not, like, trauma dump?
they love it on them they like to wear pieces of your suffering like jewels so that it hangs off their tongue in rapiers. they are allowed to arm-chair diagnose and cherrypick their poisons but you can't ever miss too many showers because that's, like, "fuckken gross?" so anyone mean is a narcissist. so anyone with visual tics is clearly faking it and is so cringe. but they get to scream and hit customer service employees because well, i got overwhelmed.
you keep seeing these posts about how people pleasers are "inherently manipulative" and how it's totally unfair behavior. but you are a people pleaser, you have an ingrained fawn response. in the comments, you have typed and deleted the words just because it is technically true does not make it an empathetic or kind reading of the reaction about one million times. it is technically accurate, after all. you think of catholic guilt, how sometimes you feel bad when doing a good deed because the sense of pride you get from acting kind - that pride is a sin. the word "manipulation" is not without bias or stigma attached to it. many people with the fawn response are direct victims of someone who was malignantly manipulative. calling the victims manipulative too is an unfair and unkind reading of the situation. it would be better and more empathetic to say it is safety-seeking or connection-seeking behavior. yes, it can be toxic. no, in general it is not intended to be toxic. there is no reason to make mentally ill people feel worse for what we undergo.
you type why is everyone so quick to turn on someone showing clear signs of trauma but you already know the fucking answer, so what's the point of bothering. you kind of hate those this is what anxiety looks like! infographics because at this point you're so good at white-knuckling through a severe panic attack that people just think you're stoic. even people who know the situation sometimes comment you just don't seem depressed. and you're not a 9 year old white kid so there's no way you're on the spectrum, you're not obsessed with trains and you were never a good mathematician. okay then.
mental illness is trending. in 2012 tumblr said don't romanticize our symptoms but to be fair tiktok didn't exist yet. there's these series of videos where someone pretends to be "the most boring person on earth" and is just being a normal fucking person, which makes your skin crawl, because that probably means you are boring. your friend reads aloud a profile from tinder - no depressed bitches i fucking hate that mental illness crap. your father says that medication never actually works.
you still haven't told your grandmother that you're in therapy. despite everything (and the fact it's helping): you just don't want her to see you differently.

safety and awareness post:
fellow minors in proship and propara spaces, please be careful. here's some pieces of advice to preserve your safety:
- do not interact with pro contact or "complex contact" MAPs. they will try to justify their stance, but it's all bs. minors can't consent, and that includes you.
- [this point was misinformed and biased against non-contact MAPs. i'm leaving this as a bullet point so it's known what the original issue with this post was]
- do not label yourself as an "AAM", it's completely normal to be attracted to adults as a minor and it's not a form of paraphilia, using that term only attracts MAPs who are looking for someone to take advantage of.
- do not post in detail about your paraphilias. you are inviting creeps to interact with and take advantage of you. keep it to yourself.
- to continue that, don't post any sexually explicit content, whether it be text posts or art. suggestive is one thing, but explicit is never appropriate.
- don't interact with adults posting explicit content either. if a blog says for minors to not interact, don't interact. if it says you can interact but to block nsft tags, block the tags.
- to continue, any adult who knowingly allows minors to interact with their explicit content needs to be avoided like the plague. chances are they have generally fucked up views about minors and their ability to consent.
- never post pictures of yourself. just don't. as accepting as the proship community is, it doesn't change the fact that predators are everywhere, and there can be people using the community to take advantage of others. if you want to post selfies, wait until you're 18.
- similarly, please just keep basic internet safety in mind. you do not know the random people you interact with on tumblr. don't give them your personal information. this can especially be important when in the proship community due to the amount of harassment you may face. don't make it easy for someone to find you.
--
all and all, keep yourself safe. being proship is about being anti harassment, and that includes protecting yourself from sexual harassment.

Ya know what…
I’m so tired of this crap. I’m tired of being scared and having nightmares. I’m tired of seeing people that I thought were friends post/share antisemitic shit/ propaganda and misinformation that hamas created. I hate having to be cautious about people and their intentions. I don’t like having to make a mental list of people that would help me if something happens- I don’t want to drag them into this shit show…
I hate that most of y’all are just sharing/posting misinformation/propaganda about this war. Y’all stop fucking getting your information from social media/and Hamas run “news sites”. Fun fact Hamas is in control of Gaza and certain news media’s. They can tell the world that Israel is doing so and so and y’all would fucking eat it up (and y’all do that). And don’t get me started on the fucking trauma porn- y’all are so obsessed with seeing those photos and pictures, and here’s the thing- no one knows if they are real/“posed”/ai generated and same with the “stories”… heck y’all even twist up the stories just to make Israel the only bad guy in this war…
Most of y’all don’t even care about Palestine. If y’all did why are you not condemning Hamas and their government? Y’all claim you want this to stop- Israel has offered multiple ceasefire deals but Hamas turns them down because they don’t fucking care. They don’t care that civilians are getting k*lled. Hamas end goal is to exterminate Israelis and Jews. They even admitted it but y’all were just turned a blind eye. Hamas is taking control of the narrative of this war and y’all are fucking falling for it…
I don’t trust anyone who uses Zionist/zionism as a slur, wishes death against Israel and their citizens, calls the IDF the IOF, those who turns a blind eye to the antisemitic shit that y’all are causing/or joining in on, chatting genocidal slogans, the list goes on and on….
You claim that y’all don’t blame Jews- just those “Zionist”. I don’t know how to say it but the majority of Jews are Zionist and a lot of us don’t want this war. (Also most of y’all don’t know what Zionism is and are spreading false information about it). Also stop calling Israelis terrorist. They are not- I’ve said this multiple times, citizens are not their government…
Blaming Jews for this war does make you antisemitic. Harassing Jews/attacking Jews/wishing death upon Jews/ cheering and supporting terrorist organizations that want Jews dead/ all of this plus more doesn’t help Palestine. But it does make you a raging antisemitic asshat. This is why we Jews are fucking scared and terrified. History is starting to repeat itself and y’all are contributing to it. Y’all wanna know why Jews are wanting to leave their home countries- because we don’t feel safe because of this shit that is happening…
I could keep going but I’ll stop. This is just me venting out my frustrations. I’m so frustrated that y’all are doing this. I’m tired and scared. If y’all don’t like this- I don’t give a damn. I said what i said. Just know that if y’all start spitting out antisemitic shit on this post- I will call you out and block you…
Am yisrael chai ✡️
And to those who lost people in this war and to those who were killed just because they were Jewish- May your memory be a blessing.

The way people are focusing on "My fav Gojo is not racist, he's just ignorant" and "Gege really hates Gojo he made him racist" when it was not even the point of that interaction. The point was to educate and talk about some stereotypes about black people that are harmful to the community and, if you look into it I'm sure you'll find has it origins in slavery.
Besides, Gojo is privileged and comes from an old money family, and it looks like he isolatehimself from others. Of course, it's in character for him to say stupid things like that. Even if he strives for change.
Yeah, everyone is so pressed that their fave is being problematic (which honestly Gojo has always been, he's hardly a saint and he treats many people quite shitty like for example Utahime and Ijichi) that they miss the bigger picture of this. Given, I think there are better ways to get that point across, but the aim here was definitely not "look at what a uniquely bad person Gojo is, I want to make readers hate him" it's for readers to reflect upon themselves and their own biases, conscious or not. Gojo is often being a dick to people, Miguel included, but this wasn't it. He wasn't just being annoying as usual, he made a misinformed statement rooted in racism "black people are naturally stronger/tougher/more resistant" and he got told off for it, which actually led to him apologizing. He expresses bigoted views, that are quite common all around the world and can lead to real harm like for example medical discrimination, but people often don't question or even notice that they have these views. I think exactly because he's such a fan-favourite character, Miguel calling him out and Gojo admitting he said fucked up shit is important.
Gojo might make a trip to Kenya to meet Yuuta, but unsurprisingly doesn't have any real black acquaintances and the one black person he knows a little better doesn't like him because he treats him like shit, an expandable tool (given, Miguel did try to help someone do a genocide so it's not like him working to make up for that in principle is a problem, but Gojo is not just treating him badly because of that) and has dismissed him and his culture as a whole. Gojo's racism towards Miguel didn't come out of thin air with chapter 255.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No wonder Miguel wants him dead.
You could say Gojo's racism and ignorance got punished before as this powerful cursed tool he so casually dismisses here together with its history could have gotten him out of the box much earlier. If he hadn't gone out of his way to destroy part of Kenyian sorcerer's culture because of his fear that it might be used to hurt him, he might still be alive. This chapter the payback was just more direct, Miguel was given the space to push back and not just get beat up (making in the previous moment Gojo seem like the righteous cool guy, seen by how the fandom reacted to their fight) and he also didn't sugar-coat it and straight up said "you're being racist".
The fact that Gojo apologized, something quite rare for him, and didn't defend his uninformed views or mocked Miguel for questioning him also shows that a lot of this comes from unaddressed biases, irrational fears and having lived a sheltered life in terms of being exposed to other cultures (and actually valuing them) that influence his judgement. He's not trying to be maliciously racist, but he clearly doesn't know what he's talking about and why it is harmful. I don't think he revelled in destroying other people's culture, he was just driven by a base fear, but that doesn't make the harm he caused any better. He's never had any reason to engage with black people on a personal level and that has unsurprisingly led to some ignorant opinions about them. Again, a very common sentiment which Gege uses Gojo to highlight. This is clearly reflecting arguments and talking points Gege has heard themselves and tried to address here. I'm sure there are all kinds of wild racist takes about Miguel on Japanese social media, I know the English side has them plenty.
I think the message Gege wanted to send was executed a bit clunkily by for example still tying Miguel's CT to rhythm (replacing the inhumanly strong black guy stereotype with another common one) and putting the burden all on Miguel to educate the people around him. Similarly, having only one (explicit) black person in the manga who has to then explain anti-black racism to the reader makes it feel very forced. I think you could've avoided a lot of that and included these topics more dynamically by giving us more background on Miguel's technique and how he came to it and comparing it to cursed technique's of other Kenyan or African sorcerer's. Another option would be making Hakari for example Black-Asian (or Todo or Yaga). He has a darker skin tone than the other characters and differently textured hair (which would already lead to him having to face a bunch of bigotry in his everyday life) and he is hated by the conservative higher-ups. So actually do something with that and address it.
Even Japanese people who are merely slightly tanned get harassed. Just being from Kyushu or Okinawa, somewhere where it's much warmer and sunnier and therefore not being as pale as the average person in e.g. Tokyo will get you plenty of derogatory comments, especially if you're a woman. That goes extra for indigenous people like the Ryukyuan or Ainu who not only face prejudice because of their appearance but also legal discrimination because of their origins and challenge the very popular notion that Japan only has one ethnic group and one language. Japan still struggles with a lot of racism internally against their own people, so you can imagine that it's even worse for anyone who newly immigrated or with parents who immigrated (in the best of times you will always be treated as a foreigner no matter how well you speak the language or integrate into the culture simply because you look "different"). It has gotten better in recent times, but it's still a problem, as Gege pointed out in this chapter.
Coming back to Hakari, we would also be able to see through him how jujutsu society treats black-identified Japanese sorcerers, which would be a different perspective from Miguel's who only visits Japan occasionally and mostly operated outside the system until Gojo came along. Black people aren't just something distant overseas, they are also Japanese citizens. You could show if and how jujutsu society differs from regular Japanese society. Most likely they are even more behind as they also discriminate against what kind of cursed technique you have (modern or one based on a long bloodline, which would automatically work against anyone not born in Japan and with a long family history there). You could also combine it with the transphobia Kirara faced and generally show how this system fails young sorcerers who don't conform to their norm.
But yeah, sorry Gojo is not perfect and will fall into the same stereotypical and bigoted thinking as many other people who rarely step outside their narrow homogenous social circle. Like you said, he's privileged with old money and family history who pride themselves on their bloodline. He's generally very narrow-minded about things that don't interest him or he sees as irrelevant like how he doesn't bother to understand Maki or has no problem ignoring a starving child on the road (who cares what happens to Hana, she's weak and Megumi is the strong one, he's who matters here and deserves to be lifted out of poverty) and international sorcerers fall under that as well. There are so little of them so it's okay to ignore them, why should he bother reaching out or informing himself about people abroad, he's never gonna interact with them anyway. If they get too dangerous for his taste, he's just gonna slap them around a bit and take away their sharp toys.
Honestly, I think what Gojo did previously is worse than what he said this chapter. He can learn to check his internalized racism and be more mindful of how he talks to Miguel or black people in general (he shows openness to criticism and improvement here), but he can't bring back Black Rope. It falls to Kenya's sorcerers to recreate it, which will take decades. They'll feel the impact of Gojo's actions long past his death, even when he can't say anything ignorant or racist anymore.
So I don't think this ruins his character, was done by Gege to make Gojo fans feel bad, or meant to keep anyone from liking him. He has character flaws and that is fine. He gets challenged on them and receives push back for them plenty in the story. I can understand that some fans feel bad reading the chapter, hearing Gojo regurgitate talking points they might've heard said against them as well, but it's not really Gege's fault for addressing this very common issue.

I said this the other day but i was right and I should say it again, and so should everyone else whos been saying it:
"transandrophobia truthers aren't oppressed for being men because being a man isn't an oppressed identity, you inherently have male privilege and are therefore Men Invading Women's Spaces" is THE SAME ""argument"" from a few years back about "ace people can't be oppressed for sexual orientation because you can't be oppressed for something you dont have, you are Cishet Ppl With Cishet Privilege Invading Queer Spaces." It's the same fucking picture.
A lot of you are picking up on the concept of "transandrophobia truthers are the new MRAs so let's mock them" without actually knowing ANY of the context for what we're talking about in transmasc circles. You're literally just gossiping about secondhand misinformation and you look stupid as hell.

Just a reminder of why I am here, lest you think I actually believe a certain Dumb Fuck from Boston is actually reading this blog.
In case it wasn't obvious, addressing specific posts to a particular person is but a literary device (such that it is on Tumblr). This blog is a way for me to scream into a void and if you don't like what I have to say, please respectfully leave and try to refrain from misrepresenting me on other blogs. I may not be your cup of tea, but I will not be minimized.
What I am screaming into the void about:
Mr. Dumb Fuck roped us all into this by trying to convince us he is stunningly happy in a relationship when it is obvious to almost anyone he is not (and if he is, he has to be the most toxic boyfriend/hubby ever). He even tried to help his cause by doing a bad job on purpose, but that act to save himself came crashing down on those who called out the Emperor who had no clothes, hard. Because when we pointed out the many obvious inconsistencies, we were branded as crazy, stupid and jealous. Then there is the gaslighting with changing timelines, photoshopped pictures, ghost sightings/weddings, poorly acted jump scares and general mindfuckery. He can't now un-invite us to the party because he doesn't like what we are saying. We will defend ourselves from lies and manipulation and not accept the negative labels thrust upon us. Too often, women are dismissed for being irrational and this stunt highlights the incredibly antiquated and misogynist trope.
The little wifey is an awful person and by tying himself to her like this he tacitly provides his approval to her racism, antisemitism, fatshaming, arrogance, immaturity, clout-chasing and entitlement, forever. That hypocrisy cannot go unnoticed considering his former stance on these subjects and his role as the face of the insipid ASP. I am a member of a few of the groups the wifey and her crew target so no one gets to tell me I am taking this too seriously or I am being too sensitive. As Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona discussed during a recent talk on an unimportant, ego stroking website, passiveness normalizes destructive behaviors and beliefs toward marginalized communities, at a time when we in those communities feel unseen or unprotected.
The fact that he looks absolutely miserable, with no light in his eyes, and discusses his life as if it is not his own is more than a little unnerving. This is in no way to shame him, but rather out of a genuine concern for his wellbeing. If I were to encounter someone on the street acting like he did as described in the near career ending GQ article, I would be compelled to call someone to assist this man in distress. And I don't buy the excuse of "he's just tired" or "he is working hard".  He is running from who he has become and doesn't know where to go.  These posts are a way for me to work out frustration of not being able to help someone who is in clear need of it.  And yeah, maybe it is none of my business, but just as if I ran into the GQ version of him on the street, I couldn't just stand by and do nothing.
This circus also shows how his behavior parallels the issues of the world at large and how we accept things we shouldn't. We have kept quiet about unchecked privlege, intent vs. impact, performative activism, being child-like vs. childish, ageism, greed and corruption, mental illness and wellness, self awareness, the power and weaponry of sexuality, toxic masculinity and misogyny, generational wealth, integrity, alternative facts and emotional truths, misinformation and disinformation, imbalance of power, value placed on hard work, attributes of healthy relationships, preciousness of time, and the effects we have on our fellow mortals, all of which has got us to now, on the brink of societal destruction. And we see this epitomized in the microcosm of this shitshow. I use this blog and the unlikely, fucked up muse that inspired it to think about how we all cultivate our points of view and perhaps pressure test what they really mean to us and how we express them in our daily lives. Others who find my blog may feel lost and alone, as we all do at times, in need of some comfort or inspiration. While the quotes, infographics and articles may be very pointed, they are there for everyone to enjoy and interpret. The Song of the Day, however, is purely about me and what I woke up singing or feeling. Nothing to do with BDF, but still for everyone to appreciate.
So that's about it. I hope you have more clarity about what I am trying to accomplish and again, if you wish to be negative, you can see yourself out. Thank you! 👋

i wanna take a moment to say just how fucking disgusting brian peck and all his enablers/supporters are. that monster did horrible and unimaginable things to a child. not enough people are talking about his crimes and it makes me so angry.
for over a year that boy was suffering at the hands of this disgusting thing, no remorse from him, and honestly some smugness from looking at his fucking SO pictures he has to take. that nauseating smirk he always wears.
i said this in my last post, but the fact that people are still burying what that monster did is so disgusting and vile to me. youre seriously telling me that he served his time?? does 4 fucking months out of a 16 month sentence sound like he served his time???? even 16 months isnt enough. it shouldve been WAY more than that feeble slap on the wrist of a sentence. he was sent away with little to no punishment. he still worked on sets with kids he still even had JOBS at all. his career shouldve been ruined and he should still be in jail to this day.
yet that child, who later in life had his career ruined from something that had so much misinformation and untruthfulness in it, is still being shamed instead of brian, who is the CONVICTED p*do here.
you saying “oh but we care for victims” but then relentlessly attack a victim is so backhanded. no, you dont care for victims, you just want “perfect victims”.
theres no such thing as a fucking “perfect victim” though. every single person in this world makes mistakes. some people in this world make horrendous and disgusting and sickening decisions.
drake has made mistakes. i will admit that and say i hold him accountable for them. but the thing that people are missing is that he is also taking accountability. he continuously addresses his mistakes. yet people label this as a “PR campaign”.
make up your damn mind. you say you want drake to take accountability, but the moment he does you say hes doing that just to get his career out of the gutter.
what is it that you want???
i just find it so disgusting how people are so adamant about ending the conversations about brian that we need to be having.
im sorry but drakes whole story makes me want to throw up and sob. its all i cant think about. that shouldnt have happened to that little boy.

What the fuck does Romanian police arresting a sex trafficker have anything to do with American bullshit? Why does the swedish teen climate change activist that laughed at him on twitter trigger them so much lmao
IKR? They are straight up asking for Biden to pardon him, like......THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS. AND YOU CAN'T PARDON SOMEONE WHO HAS YET TO GET A SENTENCE!!! If they had a brain, they'd rather talk about extradition, but these idiots think Romania is the 51st state of the USA somehow... Honestly USAmericans deserve their reputation of being absolute idiots.
And yes, Greta got them real shook. Watching them navigate through the 7 stages of grief to cope with that trainwreck was hilarious.
First they spread straight up misinformation saying Tate got released....by posting months old videos of him partying. Bold of them to pretend to escape from "the matrix" when they are so kin to drown themselves in their own delusion by crafting a whole another reality to fit their own bias....like b, shut up about the "eScApInG fRoM tHe mAtRiX" YOU ARE THE MATRIX!!
Then they said Greta should be ashamed of making fun of the size of his peepee (funny, bc this whole anti bodyshaming thing came from the "woke mob" that Conservatives usually looove clowning for resorting to emotionalism...🤔)
And now they're seething saying that the Greta joke wasn't funny and that the narrative of him being doxxed by his own pizza was fake.....when those are actually just details in this whole fiasco, and tbh people being nitpicky about this just proves even further how they are too embarrassed to handle the bigger picture so they try to deflect onto small details. Whether Tate doxxed himself or not doesn't retrieve anything to the pathetic irony of him being arrested moments after making a lame 2 minutes video comeback bc he got his fee fees hurt by a one liner comeback on Twitter. What truly made people lose their mind was 1)that (low blow) clapback was out of character for Greta. She usually barely engages with anyone on her twitter account, so the fact she chose violence like that is unprecedented 2)the timing of him getting in a stupid twitter beef flexing about his wealth & lifestyle just before getting arrested was just perfect 3)the irony of him being dragged by an autistic girl half his age when his whole brand his the strong unbothered Alpha male is peak poetic cinema. Only stupid moids think they are doing something being like "sO yOu Admit yOu Have a sMalL peNis GrEtA?? tHat'S yOur oWn AdDreSS aMiRitE???🤪" ....like, that's such a typical boomer-tier brand of 1st degree level reading comprehension..... By making a stupider comeback to an already stupid post Greta took the piss out of Tate and there are no configuration in which he could possibly make a compelling come back. Brillant. Sometimes, you have to lay as low as your enemy, and considering the unpredicted consequences of this stunt, that's what made her move retrospectively outstandingly funny. Moids, scrotes and Tate-sexuals can seethe, Greta won💚

I'm so angry, so upset I can hardly think straight. I'd been staying away from the news for a while now because I couldn't take listening to what that tangerine and his cronies were doing next.
And after thinking I'm strong enough to see what I've missed, I hear that the Supreme Court, the right hand of that shitbag in an orange skinsuit, has given the Jan 6th insurrectionists the win they wanted, have overturned YET ANOTHER long standing precedent that now gives the judiciary a giant fucking knife to gut any and all regulations that go against special interests, because they can, AND has now said fuck you to the homeless and have upheld the ban to keep them from sleeping outside even though it's more often their only fucking option when there's no fucking services to give them the help they need.
I'm so angry, so scared, I can't think straight. My heart is in my throat and I'm fucking terrified that with all these assholes telling people not to vote and to throw their vote away because both parties are bad, that it's gonna get A LOT worse come November. If fucking trump gets back into the white house, that's it. The Supreme Court is already unhinged because of what he did during his first 4 years. I'm horrified to think how much worse it can get.
They came for roe v wade. They came for affirmative action. They've made the judiciary into a hammer to break anything they don't like in their way. The majority of the court hates women, people of color, lgbtq+, the poor, and they're gonna come after every one of us just because they can.
Anyone who says both parties are the same?? You can all fuck off into a fucking lava pit. I loathe every single one of you who incite people not to vote because they need to have picture perfect fucking candidate that fits EVERY SINGLE FUCKING ONE OF THEIR IDEALS and refuse to compromise to the detriment of the rest of the country.
This is YOUR fault we're where we are. It's YOUR fault that Hillary wasn't voted president, and we got that fucking grease stain for 4 fucking years, that gave us the supreme court we have now, who's tearing up our rights with every ruling. It's YOUR fault that roe v wade was lost, and that women's bodies, which have always been fair game in red states, are now in even more danger than ever. That handmaidens tale universe is getting closer to being a reality with all the shit you dumbass fucks have pulled.
And now you want to continue with your fucking misinformation and encouraging people not to vote because what, because you think your cause is more righteous than everyone else's? You think someone can't condemn what's happening in Gaza what's happening with Palestinians and still vote blue??? You think if I don't want to hand over control of my body to the government, if I don't want to lose my right to vote, to not worry that they'll be coming after me if I'm lgbtq or a minority or anything they don't view as deserving of basic human rights, that I should be like you??? And toss this country into hands that want to take all that away??? Do you really think not voting for biden or any other democrat is gonna help Palestinians??? Really?? Are you that. FUCKING. DUMB???!! I want to shake every single one of you to wake the fuck up because you'll do nothing but make it easier for the Supreme court to keep doing what it's doing, for the party that hates anything not white, not rich, not straight unless it benefits them, to get stronger and stronger until all of us that don't think like them are crushed like fucking ants under their boots.
So fuck you to anyone who spread lies, who tells others not to vote, that a vote for democrats is a vote for genocide, because you know what? You're slowly helping to kill your friends, families, and yes strangers, because of your inaction. You're helping to put people in power that don't give ONE FUCK about Palestine. Don't give ONE FUCK about anything but turning this country into their own personal fucking playground where they can do whatever they want, with impunity.
VOTE FUCKING BLUE PEOPLE VOTE LIKE YOUR LIFE IS ON THE LINE---BECAUSE IT IS.

"That's Harry Styles' girlfriend?"
You wished the girl hadn't said it so incredulously.
You weren't sure if she thought you couldn't hear her, or if she knew you could and didn't care. Either way, it stung.
The urge to sprint out of the clothing store was great, but you tried to ignore it, not wanting to bring more attention to yourself. You could picture the girl and her friends giggling as you walked away with your head hung with embarrassment. So you kept rifling through stacks of clothes, not really wanting to shop anymore.
"She dresses like a grandma. Or a librarian."
"She dresses like her mom still picks out her clothes!"
"I thought Harry only dated models? Why the hell is he with her?"
"I don't know, she seems nice."
"You need to be more than nice to date someone like Harry, don't you think? I don't know she just seems so...plain."
"She must be a great fuck. She has to be looking like that and keeping his attention that long."
The last comment had your ears burning. You knew you weren't exactly Harry's type, that statistically, he did go for a certain body type and look in the past. That didn't diminish how he felt about you, though, and you didn't know why being an outlier in your boyfriend's dating history made people think that way, or how your sex life was anyone's business but your own.
You'd always had a blunt way of speaking, but these teenagers were absolutely brutal. As calmly as you could, you moved to the opposite end of the store and out of earshot.
Only when you were good and ready and decided there was nothing in the store that you liked did you leave. You walked through the mall, passing by a storefront that displayed posters of models in bras and panties, each more revealing than the last. Looking down at your patterned sweater, corduroy pants, and mismatched socks, you frowned, even moreso when you remembered the plain nude bra you were wearing underneath. Did you really dress like a grandma? You never spent much time with your own grandparents growing up, but from the little you did see of your grandmother, she didn't dress the way you did. And the comment about librarians was simply misinformation, you decided.
In a split-second decision, you went inside the lingerie store. Just to check it out, you told yourself. Besides, there was no such thing as too much underwear, you thought.
The first thing that you noticed was lace. Lace in all different colors and floral patterns, lace covering the top of a bra or fanning out over the waistline of a pair of underwear, lace that seemed dainty, and lace that seemed...domineering? You took in everything, trying to determine which sets seemed the most like you, but nothing really stood out in that regard, which was probably the goal of the store. The models wearing the store's garments sent a message of unattainability to its consumers. Try all you like, they all seemed to say. You'll never look like us.
You never understood the plight of body image issues and body dysmorphia more than you did staring in the middle of the store right then. You'd never struggled with your appearance much. Physical attraction could actually be traced back to math and science, proportions and angles and all that. You didn't fall into that small percentage of people who fit into the equation, and you were perfectly okay with that. You had many more interesting things to offer than what big corporations such as the store you were in deemed attractive or desirable. Or "tolerable" as Mr. Darcy would say.
Still, it was hard to remind yourself of that as models with toned bodies and perfect, perky breasts smiled down at you condescendingly.
"Can I help you find anything?"
Startled out of your thoughts, you turned to see a woman around your age smiling at you.
"Um...No, I'm just looking, thank you," you said.
"Any occasion in particular?" the woman pressed, a smile that said, please let me help you I need the commission, written on her face.
You found yourself saying, "I guess I'm looking to...branch out a little?"
"Well, you've come to the right place," the woman said. "Do you need to be sized today?"
From there, the woman piled up different colors, and cups, and cuts into your arms. You owned maybe three or four thongs and one push-up bra, and had no opinion on any kind of style, so you let her grab whatever she wanted for you, though the more she plucked from drawers, the more overwhelmed you became.
"That should be a good place to start," she finally said, setting a lacy one-piece complete with a garter belt on top of your small mountain of lingerie. "Let me open a fitting room for ya."
You followed dutifully, thanking the woman as she shut the door. Finally alone, you set the pile down, unsure of where to start. "Just work your way down," you mumbled, picking up the one-piece.
You tried on bra after corset after g-string after cheeky fit, but nothing really stood out to you. You looked fine in them, you supposed, but none of them seemed special enough or worth buying. As you were trying on a black number that was mostly see-through, there was a soft knock on the door.
"How are you doing in there?"
Looking in the mirror, you shrugged. "Fine. I'm not really sure if I like any of them, though."
"Need a second opinion?"
Thinking it couldn't hurt, you put on a set that was less revealing and opened the fitting room door. The woman gave you a onceover, then told you to turn around so you could see yourself in the mirror.
"I mean, you look great. What don't you like about this one?"
While you appreciated the compliment, you just didn't like the set, a deep red one with little bows on the hips and the middle of the bra. "I don't know," you said with a shrug.
"Well, is there anything you do like about it?" she offered, going for a different angle.
You tilted your head to the side. "I guess...I like that it isn't so harsh. It's...sweet...I guess? Does that make sense?"
"It does," she said. "I can work with that. Anything about the others that stick out to you?"
"I think I like it better when my ass isn't completely out," you said.
"Okay. Noted," she said, clearly amused, but not in a way that you found antagonizing. "I'll be back."
You went back into the fitting room while the woman traversed the store to find something for you. Grabbing your phone, you snapped a picture and sent it to Harry.
You: What do you think?
You slipped into a couple more and sent a few more pictures, trying to see if Harry could give you some insight. He had an eye for fashion. He would be able to guide you.
Before you could send a fifth, he called you.
"Are you trying to kill me?"
"Uh...no? Are you driving? Sorry, I'll stop texting you."
Harry choked on a laugh. "It's not that I'm driving, which I'm not, by the way. You're sending me pictures of yourself half naked."
"Oh. Right. Well, I was just walking past this store and I thought I would try a couple things on, but I haven't liked anything, so I thought I would ask for your opinion, but if you're busy—"
"I'm not busy," he said in a rush. "Well, I kind of am, but now I have to wait."
"Wait for what?"
"Y/n. You sent me four pictures of you in very revealing lingerie, and now I'm hiding in the studio's bathroom. What do you think I'm waiting for?"
"I don't—Oh," you said, his predicament finally dawning on you.
"Yeah 'Oh.'" he said, but you could tell he wasn't really mad. "So you'll be happy to know that I think you look to die for in all of them, but they don't really feel like you, you know?"
"That's exactly what I thought! Here, what do you think of this one?"
You sent another picture, and you could tell Harry had seen it by the harsh exhale that escaped through his nose. "Now you're just teasing me because I told you I was hiding in a bathroom."
"But what did you think?" you pressed on, ignoring his comment.
"You look great, love, I always think so. But...you know you don't have to wear all that to impress me or anything like that right? I love the stuff you already have."
"I know. This isn't for you explicitly, I just wanted your opinion."
Harry laughed. "And here I thought I was going to be a reassuring boyfriend."
"I mean, I've always found it kind of odd that women have to go out of their way to dress up for their partners. I understand it to some extent, but you don't see men going out of their way to get all dressed up, do you? Why do we have to wear the uncomfortable underwear and itchy lace to impress you? And by you I mean the male population, of course."
"Of course," Harry replied. "You make a good point, love. Buy whatever the hell you want."
"Thank you."
There was a moment of silence, and then, "Did you still want my opinion or are you all good?"
"Mm...Yes, but objectively. And since we are dating and I do like doing nice things for you, I will take into consideration color preference and perhaps a part of my body that you might want to see accentuated."
"I greatly appreciate it," he said, his voice mock-serious. "Well, I'm not sure I can be objective, but I suppose like when you wear pink, and...Oh! You have two little freckles just above your right hip bone. As long as I can see 'em I'm good."
His answer had you blushing from the crown of your head all the way down to your neck. How did that make you blush more than any comment about your breasts would? "You're a charmer."
"One of my best qualities according to my mum," Harry said. "I'd love to stay and chat, but I have a situation that this conversation is in no way helping and a song to record, so I will see you at home."
"Okay, sorry about the situation. Love you!"
Harry responded in kind and hung up the phone. Once the call ended, you opened the fitting room door again, surprised when the woman was there. You could tell she'd just been standing there for a while, listening to your phone call.
"Sorry," she said blushing. "I had your things, and then I was curious. My grandmother always called me a chismosa growing up."
"It's fine," you said, trying to focus on the matter at hand.
"I think I found something you might like," she said, then handed two garments. "It's sweet, like you said you liked, and it covers up more than some of the other ones, if that's more the route you want to take."
The material was gauzy and pink, with ruffles cinching the top and bottom of the bra. And instead of underwear, the bottoms were ruffled shorts made of the same material. The woman was right, you decided. It was sweet with its pink satin bows and over-the-shoulder design.
"It comes with a matching garter, but you don't have to wear it if you don't want to," she said.
Your eyes lifted to hers appreciatively. "Thank you."
Once again inside the fitting room, you tried on the final set. You knew that it was either going to be this one or nothing, so you shimmied into the shorts, straightened out the neckline of the top, and considered yourself in the mirror.
It was perfect. You didn't feel so exposed or like you were way outside your comfort zone, but you felt good too. Sexy, even, something you never went out of your way to feel. And just as Harry hoped, the two freckles on your hip were visible, so he would get something out of this after all.
"I think I like this one," you said through the door.
"Oh good! I'll be at the register when you're ready to check out."
Looking at yourself in the mirror one last time, you debated sending Harry another picture. He'd joined you on this journey so far, but you didn't want to pull him away from his work again. And you had to begrudgingly admit, there was a part of you that wanted to see his eyes light up in person when he saw it on you for the first time.
Once you were back in your clothes, which you determined were not what a grandma would wear, you went to the register to check out.
"Thank you for helping me," you said. "I...find it hard to dress in a way that's conventionally sexy and still feel like myself."
"Happy to help," she said with a grin. "And I know I'm outing myself as an eavesdropper again, but I liked what you said about not having to dress up for anyone. My boyfriend always likes to see me in all this stuff, but he's not going out of his way to impress me, so why should I?"
You smiled. "Exactly. And I don't mind dressing up for my boyfriend, but he's not the only one, you know? I'm dressing up for me. Him liking what I wear is just a bonus."
"And he's fine with that?" she asked, almost like she couldn't help it. It made you realize that you had very different boyfriends.
You made a note to let Harry know how much you appreciated him forever never telling you what to wear or how to dress. Those girls in the other store had their opinions, but what they didn't know was Harry loved the way you dressed, and even if he didn't he loved you for you, not necessarily the clothes you wore. Why they thought he was so shallow was beyond you. Harry never came across that way, you didn't think.
"I mean, I'm no model and I dress like this and he loves me anyway," you said with a shrug.
"I don't think there's anything wrong with the way you dress," she said. "It's cute in a quirky kind of way. And being a model is overrated."
You'd never had much in terms of friends. You were much younger than all of your classmates growing up, and before Harry, you mostly kept to yourself. But you thought if you did have a friend, this was how conversations would go. It felt nice to speak so openly with someone. Besides Harry, obviously.
What the woman said was true, you knew that. Though no matter how much you knew that, or how many books on feminism you read, sometimes being insecure was inevitable. Especially when comments about your appearance came from judgy teenage girls.
"Thank you. I'm Y/n, by the way."
"I know. I watch your videos a lot," she said. "I'm Samantha."
As you left, you hoped to bump into Samantha again. She was nice and someone you could see yourself getting along with. Another friend you made all on your own.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Okay, you can open your eyes in three...two...one!"
"Wow."
"What do you think?"
"I think the fishnets make your legs look great," you said, taking in Harry's "surprise."
You'd come home shortly after leaving the lingerie store, eager to show Harry what you finally decided on, but before you could even set your bags down, your boyfriend was tugging you by the hand and into your bedroom. He'd been in a robe, which wasn't totally out of place. He lounged around in them a lot when he was at home. What wasn't typical was when he sat you down on the edge of the bed and told you to close your eyes.
He was in fishnet tights and a pair of leather shorts, the rest of his body free of clothing. Your eyes took in the sight, from the top of his head right down to the ruffled socks that covered his feet.
"I thought about what you said," Harry told you by way of explanation. "About men not having to dress up in the bedroom."
With a small smile, you said, "Is that what this is about? You didn't have to—"
"I know, but I wanted to. I don't think I'm comfortable wearing lace underwear, not yet anyway, only time will tell, but I still had this from a photoshoot I did a few years ago, and I thought, well, I thought—"
"You look really handsome," you said.
"Really?"
You raised an eyebrow at him. "You know you do."
Harry grinned down at the floor, though you weren't sure if he felt as bashful as he looked or if he was playing it up a little. "Yeah, but I like hearing you say it."
"I'd be happy to tell you all the things I find physically attractive about you," you said honestly. Patting the spot next to you on the bed, you said, "Come sit."
Harry did exactly that, and you had every intention of making good on your promise, but seeing him up close made you falter. He'd smudged eyeliner in the corners of his eyes, a little messily, as if he wasn't really sure how to put it on. There was something glittery on his cheeks and collarbones, and he smelled absolutely divine.
"You..."
"Yeah?"
In a move that surprised even you, you pushed Harry back onto the bed, one hand in his hair and the other on his torso as you kissed him hard. Harry made a surprised noise in the back of his throat, but he was quick to recover.
"You look really pretty," you said, kissing the shell of his ear all the way down to his jaw. "And I like the tights, but I would like to take them off now."
Harry grinned, his eyes closed as he enjoyed your lips traveling down his neck. "Okay. Give me a moment, and I'll—"
"No. I'll do it," you said, bringing your head up toward his for one last kiss before moving to rid him of the shorts and tights.
Harry leaned on his elbows, lifting his hips up so you could take his shorts off. They were still suspended in the air, but you had yet to take the tights off. "Love?"
"I—I think I want to keep kissing you with them on for a little bit," you said.
"Fine by me. Kiss away."
"But first." You stood up and grabbed the little shopping bag you brought to your room. "Let me change."
Harry raised his brows at you but didn't say anything as you disappeared into your bathroom. You quickly shed your day clothes and put on the set you bought. You felt just as good as you did in the store, which you marked as a good sign. But when your hand reached for the doorknob, you hesitated.
"H?"
"Yes, my love?"
"Can you close your eyes? Please?"
"Of course."
You knew you looked good, and you knew Harry liked the way you looked, fancy lingerie or not. But there was something so vulnerable about showing yourself off in this way. The anticipation of it all made your stomach flip. You weren't the type to draw attention to yourself with clothing, you just wore what you liked. It kind of felt like you were performing for him, and the longer you waited, the more the excitement converted into nerves. But Harry went out of his comfort zone for you, and while you knew you didn't have to, you wanted to. Just because.
So, stepping out of the bathroom, you quietly padded over to where Harry was still waiting on the bed, one hand covering his eyes, you returned to him, legs draping over both of his hips.
When you told him to open his eyes, they didn't go wide the way you had anticipated, the way yours had. They were quite hooded as he took everything in. He didn't say anything for a full minute, like he was processing each stitch and bow. His thumb absentmindedly brushed over the two freckles on your hip, sending shivers down your spine.
"So...can we kiss now?"
Harry chuckled, but his eyes raised to yours anyway, and you found only fondness there. Okay, maybe a little lust, but it was mostly fondness.
"Yes, I would very much like to kiss you," he said. "I just wanted to tell you that you look—"
You couldn't wait any longer. You kissed him, perhaps even more aggressively than before. Harry had no problem with that, though. His hands held onto your waist, pushing you closer to each other until there wasn't a sliver of space between you.
Later that night, you were laying on your sides so you could face each other. His hand was on your hip and playing with one of the satin bows while yours was in his hair and combing through his curls idly. The Emperor dozed between you while Faye Winter was curled up by the window, enjoying the midafternoon sun.
"What brought all of this on, anyway?" he asked.
"What do you mean?"
"It's not every day that I get texts from you in different kinds of lingerie or that you buy stuff like this. I'm just curious to know what led you to...do all of this."
"I..." You wished you could say you bought it because you just felt like it, that it had nothing to do with what you'd overheard in a different store. "I'd overheard some girls talking..."
You explained how your day played out. From going to a store to browse at clothes to what those girls said about you, to your adventure into the world of intimates.
"I know you like the way I look, and I know that I don't need any sort of validation, or that I have anything to prove to anyone about my body, but..."
"People get insecure, Y/n. It happens," Harry said gently. "Just know that I love you for you, inside and out, body and mind and soul and all that, okay?"
"I know."
Harry laughed at your blunt delivery, and you laughed too. "Of course you do, but I was kind of hoping you would reciprocate the sentiment."
Eyes widening, you said, "Right, right, right. I love you too. Top to bottom, inside and out."
Harry grinned, his eyes crinkled in a way that told you he couldn't be more content than he was in that moment. Reaching for the Emperor, he set him down on top of his stomach to make room for you at his side. You shuffled closer immediately, your leg slotting between his as your cheek rested on the spot between his shoulder and chest.
"So, you were right. Sarah loved Persuasion," Harry said.
Leaning up a little, you smiled wide. "Oh, she did?"
"Yep. I'm beginning to think you have a knack for finding the right book for the right person. We might have to start a book club when we start touring."
"Very rockstar of you," you said.
"I'd like to think so," Harry agreed. "Anyway, she said she's ready for the next recommendation whenever you are."
Your face lit up like Harry knew it would. "I have so many. She can obviously keep going with Austen, or if she wants something more contemporary, she can read..."
Harry kissed the top of your head, but that didn't stop you from rattling off titles of books, even if they weren't for him and you could tell Sarah your book recommendations yourself. Once you got on a roll about books, it was hard to stop you. But he didn't mind. He was just happy to hold you against his side, his fingers tracing patterns on your hip while he continued to listen.

do you think the blowing raspberries part was in the script? im confused, i think it would be a bit weird and wrong? if it was taylor doing it suddenly so i hope the whole thing was alex and henry
We can't really know, but to me, it looked like just Taylor messing around. However, I think that acting like it's weird/wrong of him to do that is an overreaction. They have mentioned countless times that they were always doing things to make the other laugh or tease each other on set. They knew each other's boundaries. They wouldn't do anything that would make the other uncomfortable.
Nicholas starts smacking him because it probably tickled, and that's what you do when you're being tickled in some capacity. But he pushes him off and says "go back to America" like he was still in character, instead of something like "oh fuck off Taylor". He was clearly playing along.
I am going to think positively and assume you're not trying to, but this is teetering on the edge of implying that Taylor and Nicholas have an issue with each other, or don't get along.
That is simply untrue, and there are people actively trying to spread this misinformation to create a rift in the fandom. The same people have been trying to say that Nicholas and Taylor don't care about RWRB or don't like it due to their lack of promotion, when it is due to the strike that is still actively going on. They legally not allowed to promote it without breaking the union's strike rules.
Both have still done subtle things to indicate their love of the project, like Nicholas posting pictures of him with blond hair from back when they were filming "for no reason", and Taylor setting up his Instagram to be only following Alex's official account. Nick posted a single red heart on either Twitter or Threads on the day of the movie's release. Taylor said he wasn't going to be signing things at the London Vogue event he participated in, but saw fans with the book and made an exception.
Like I said, I'm going to assume that it's not your intention, so I'll just say, please be careful with what you say with things like this, because those people will jump on any opportunity to perpetuate these lies.

Listen.... Phoenix as a divorce lawyer we get with during the divorce procedure w our stinky ex husband
A/N: Pookie you're a genius I'm buying you coffee and Mars bars next time I see you. Writing this was so much fun!
DivorceLawyer!Phoenix Wright x GN!reader
Warnings: swearing, a bit spicy (heavily implied that they had sex, but I didn't write any explicit smut), alcohol, a bit angsty
Words: 1,776
P.S. I don't know anything about being a divorce lawyer, so if there's any misinformation, just ignore it or let me know so I can fix it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your life couldn't be any worse right now.
The man who you thought was the love of your life, your best friend, your ride or die, was playing you like a game.
15 affairs in 5 years.
You meant nothing to him.
You found out about this a few months ago. Your mind immediately went to divorce, but a big problem presented itself. You didn't have any concrete proof that he was unfaithful to you.
So, you spent these past few months gathering as many screenshots, videos, pictures, and profiles as you could, desperate to just get out of this relationship (if you can even call it that). Your husband had no idea what you were up to because you were very careful about your cover. You kept track of every meeting he had with his mistresses, every text he got from one of them while he was away from his phone, every phone call, and soon enough you had over 100 pieces of evidence to prove his unfaithfulness.
The first thing you did afterwards was confront your husband about it. You didn't yell or scream; you didn't insult him; you calmly stated why you wanted to divorce him and showed him only a bit of the evidence you had. To your surprise, he actually cried and yelled at you for it before desperately trying to take you back.
"Please, baby, I swear I won't do it again," he sobbed, clinging to your sleeve as he tried to pull you in for a hug. You pushed him away, taking at least 3 steps back before sighing.
"Liam, I really don't want to hear this right now. Just pack your shit and leave my house," you responded sternly, pointing towards the direction of your front door.
His pleading facade seemed to crack, but he didn't give up.
"C'mon, love, it was all a mistake, I promise! I don't know any of these women. I only care about you, Y/N," he pleaded, taking a step closer to you. You groaned as you tried to collect yourself.
"You clearly didn't care when you went screwing around behind my back. I don't have time for your excuses, so just shut the fuck up and get out," you spat.
Liam's pleading facade faltered, now replaced with an angry scowl. He grumbled something incoherent before grabbing some of his stuff and stomping to the door.
"Whatever, I was only using you for sex anyways," he hissed, slamming the door behind him, the loud noise making you flinch slightly.
His words hung in the air, and it made your heart feel heavy.
Is that really all I'm good for?
You quickly wiped the single tear that slid down your cheek, getting your head back in the game. This was no time to dwell on what a cheater has to say about you.
Here came the worst part. Divorce procedure.
Now, you needed a divorce lawyer to guide you through the procedure. Mostly because you had no idea how the process goes, but also because you needed extra emotional support to get you through this period of life.
And you really hit the bullseye.
You somehow managed to get a hold of Phoenix Wright, the best divorce lawyer in this district. When you first contacted him, you had little hope that he would take your case considering he's a very busy man. That's why you practically jumped when he agreed to it.
"Really? You'll do it?!" You gasped, holding your phone tightly next to your ear. You heard him chuckle on the other end of the line.
"Yes, please don't be so surprised. Actually, you're my first client in a while," he responded. You were taken aback by that considering he's the best out there, but you didn't comment on it.
"Thank you so much! Oh gosh, I'm going to pay you double, I swear," you sighed in relief, letting out a breathless chuckle. He laughed aloud at that.
"No, no, there's no need for that at all. Now, which date are you available so we can meet up and talk about your case?"
You began talking dates, and he gave you a quick run-down of how the procedure goes. Thankfully, you and your husband didn't have any children or shared assets, so this process should be rather painless and last shorter than divorces usually last. Phoenix was also glad to have an easy case after a while of not taking any.
However, what he didn't expect were his growing feelings towards you.
Of course, he'd never consciously act on these feelings. You were his client, and going through a divorce, for Christ's sake, the last thing you need is your own divorce lawyer professing his love to you.
But God, was it hard to suppress these feelings.
He caught himself caring about you in a way that blurred professional lines. He took you out to eat sometimes to make you feel better, bought you stuff, and even gave you a discount on his services. He felt guilty for even charging you for his services.
This was the worst period of your life, and yet, you were standing stronger than ever. That made Phoenix admire you more than words can describe, and that's what drew him towards you in the first place.
A few times (more than you'd like to admit), you'd end up crying in front of him because of the divorce, blabbering about how disgusted you were that Liam would do something like that to you, wondering what you did wrong to make him do this, calling yourself all kinds of names... Hearing you talk about your own self like that, your strong, beautiful, admirable self, made Phoenix's heart break as he held you.
Even though he wanted to just scoop you up and show you how real love looks like, knowing you'd grown accustomed to your husband's pathetic excuse of being a husband, he knew he couldn't, and that was eating him from the inside out.
This was hard for you especially.
Not only were you just starting your journey towards self-acceptance, but you also started falling in love with your own divorce lawyer. He made your heart skip in ways your soon-to-be ex-husband never did. However, you had to push these feelings away. At least until this procedure is over.
Surely you can wait that long, right?
One night, he'd had enough of listening to you talk smack about yourself and took you to a bar to distract you from the whole situation, at least for a few hours. The offer caught you off-guard, but you sure as hell weren't going to deny alcohol.
Hours felt like minutes, the sound of glasses clinking and laughter filled the air, and soon enough you were both drunk as hell, and the last ones in the bar along with the bartender.
"...aand then she, liike, called me a bitch for jus' speaking factss," you slurred as you giggled. He cackles in response.
"Wow. She's the bitch," he commented, taking the last swig of his drink.
The bartender who's been serving you drinks all night approached you.
"Hey folks, we close in a few minutes. I called you a cab, and it should be here soon. Stay safe, alright?" she said with a smile, wiping the inside of a glass.
"Huuuh? What time's it?" you asked, looking at her dumbfounded.
"It's 3 AM," she responded.
"Whaat?! 3 AM?!" you gasped, turning to look at Phoenix. "Didn't we get here at, like, 8?? Or was it 10... I dunno," you shrugged. He had the same confused look on his face.
"Dunno, don't care, let's go home," he slurred as he got up from the bar stool, nearly falling over from how dizzy the continuous Malibu shots made him. You wheezed as you saw him stumble, your drunk mind finding literally everything funny.
The rest of the night was a huge blur. You couldn't remember anything if your life depended on it.
You slowly roused from your sleep, the raging headache greeting you first thing in the morning.
"Owww... what the..." you whined, your eyes fluttering open as you sat up. Immediately, you felt different.
These bed sheets didn't feel like yours. More importantly, why did they feel so close...?
You look down at yourself.
You're completely naked.
"Oh my God!" you shout in surprise, instantly going to cover yourself. You look around the room, not recognizing your surroundings. A wave of panic washed over you.
You turn your head to the side, your eyes widening at who you saw sleeping shirtless next to you.
"Mr. Wright?!" you gasp in shock, your mind immediately connecting the dots.
Oh.
You drunkenly hooked up with your own divorce lawyer.
What the fuck.
Because of your shouting, it didn't take long for Phoenix to wake up. He looked just as confused as you were. You both got dressed before sitting down in his living room and talking about what exactly went down last night.
"So... What do we do about this now?" you asked, looking down at the ground. He sighed, rubbing his temples as he thought about what to say.
"I... I don't know. I mean, we both like each other, but I don't want to rush you into anything," he said softly. He saw the confused, almost worried expression on your face and took your hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. The touch made your heart flutter as you looked up from the ground, your eyes meeting his.
"The decision is up to you," he added. "If you want to wait until this procedure is over, that's completely fine by me."
A moment of silence was cast upon you two, his eyes searching yours as you weighed out the pros and cons of the situation until you spoke up.
"I want nothing more than to be with you right now and make it official, trust me. But I'm scared that somebody will find out and spread it around," you stated, concern in your voice.
"If you think it would be better to keep a low profile until this whole thing is over, that's completely fine," he agreed. Your concerned expression softened into a thankful smile, a smile that nearly took his breath away.
"Okay. Thank you," you said, making him chuckle bashfully.
"There's no need to thank me," he responded, brushing some of your hair behind your ear.
The rest of the procedure went smoothly, and only a month later you were officially divorced.
It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off your shoulders, and you felt even more relieved with Phoenix by your side.

Styrofoam Scots and why the fuck I don't like American takes on Scottishness/Celticness/fairies/whatever else and wish they'd leave us well enough alone
OKAY. so. I want to preface this by saying I am in no way the Last Word in All Scottish Shit Ever, and there actually are other Scots around who probably don't give much of a fuck about this. Or Changeling. However, they were not asked and so that's their business! :D
This is also gonna be really fucking image-heavy so watch out for that.
Part 1- Styrofoam Scots: What the Fuck Are They? So, the name as implied is a colloquial term used to mean North Americans (usually) who boast some Scottish ancestry, who act as if this makes them special in some sort of way. Usually in a disturbing blood-and-soil, aggressively possessive of land they've likely never fucking seen kinda way. They will henceforth be referred to as 'Styros' for simplicity's sake. Follow under the readmore for the full scoop...
If you're diaspora Scottish and are interested in the country to a normal degree, you are not a Styro. Even if you're a bit over-eager about kilts and tartanry and ceilidhs and shit. If you're part-Scottish and were born or raised elsewhere, you are also not a Styro. You may just be a bit out of the loop. That's fine, you have your own shit to do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now of course this is Urban Dictionary, but elsewhere (often Facebook) there's groups online about actually showing and discussing-- and often chiding-- these Styros on their attitudes regarding Scottishness and their perceived claim over it.
Tumblr media
We don't like this shit lads. 5.7K is quite a lot of folks in a country with 5.5 million people.
The stupidity of this assertion, as you can guess ranges from the incredibly fucking silly/incoherent:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I have honestly no fucking idea what this one's trying to say. A 'gealtachd' i think is meant to be Gaeltacht, which is not a person or a speaker of any Gaelic language like he is attempting to do... but actually is a district of Ireland? Generally an Irish-speaking one? More than one Canadian gael uses this term incorrectly and I really have to wonder what they're doing out there.)
Tumblr media
Anyway they run the gamut from there to, uh DOWNRIGHT HOSTILE and xenophobic/bigoted and truly fucking ABHORRENT (antisemitism, racism and white supremacy warning)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not gonna put too many more of these nastier posts on here cause I think we get the picture. So, a Styro is generally someone who acts as if their distant and historic family relationship with Scotland makes them somehow educated to speak on it, often over actual Scots, and regularly they engage in a few unpleasant thing such as:
Conflating the Scots and the Irish in the same group, which is not appropriate in the slightest despite the similarities and shared history between the countries (and I'll explain that later)
Aggressively promoting misinformation regarding 'tartanry', clans, Scottish history and its place in the British Empire
Claiming modern Scots are somehow 'lesser' than they are for 'not stucking to traditions' and 'forgetting our culture'
Hopefully you're starting to see a pattern here-- this is all very clearly sounding like Scottish-flavoured white supremacist LARP.
That's cause often, it fucking is.
There's a North American picture of Scottishness which is permanently frozen in a hazy, nightmarish portmanteau of Braveheart and Outlander-type green-hills-and-heather fantasy, and the timeperiod of intense religious and socioeconomic upheaval the ancestors of these people left behind-- unwillingly more often than not--or were forced out of for religious extremist views.
This frozen sick-saccharine hellscape is in no way indicative of a real Scotland that exists, or has ever existed. Much like this hellscape 'AI' picture floating around the Styro facebook group that haunts the everloving shite out of me.
Tumblr media
The longer you look at it, the worse it gets. I can't stop staring... FUCK the pipes Danny Boy, the GIGANTIC BISCUIT calls...
Part 2- So How Does this Relate to Other Weird CeltyShit Online/In Real Life?
Good question. I'm glad you asked. This is where properties like Changeling: the Dreaming and whatever other American fantasy fairies thing you can think of come in.
So, while I don't think the creators of 'fairy' media are actively Styros, or insane racist bigot thundercunts, I do think they hold that same falsified mishmash fake idea of what Scottishness/Celticness is. Scottishness (and Irish- and Welsh-ness) have been mysteriously conflated into one big mixed up generically Fantasy cultural mash that, while these three individual cultures share similar myths and some with the same origin point, has absolutely zero bearing on the real stories anyone in these countries could actually tell you. The mythology has been so thoroughly ripped away and dissolved over time to the point of not really mattering that much (for better or worse) that not only is the American idea of 'fairies' kind of alien in the first place, the insistence on using generic 'celtic' fonts and art styles, boiled down ideas and very derived misuses of endangered languages becomes kind of an insult.
'Endangered?'
Yep. Irish is currently being learned by more people than actually can speak it, and the same holds true for Scottish Gaelic (or its proper name Gàidhlig)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bad times for the Gaels, but things are very steadily on the upswing. These languages, as well as our individual cultures, are endangered by colonialism (whether oppressed by it, or a participant in it), and the homogenisation of all cultures on the British Isles into one neatly-controllable 'British' identity that surprise surprise... is mostly English. So, this shit is bad for the public image of Scotland and Ireland and so on as individual, modern countries with people currently living in them and trying to move forward with everyone else. This has been a tough battle, especially for Scottish Independence seekers who have been fighting to maintain Scotland's image as a modern and thriving country with real potential... rather than a heather-covered backwater fairyland for rich people to use as grouse moors...
oh did I not mention that too? Asides from spiritually fucking stealing our land, a disturbing amount of our physical land is also owned, often by people who don't fucking live here , often to make themselves fucking look better environmentally and in total fuckin secret because apparently we don't get a fucking say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lovely shit, love being a fucking grab bag for a bunch of cunts.
Not a pretty sight, huh? We're not the only ones going through this, mind, but when the only image of Scottishness online is dominated by Outlander, ScottishPeopleTwitter, Fairy Shit and The Fatal CeltyShit Stew, you can see how it's harder and harder to convince anyone that we're a modern fucking country that should be treated as such. Not when we're apparently just here to be taken for a ride, taken apart for someone's fantasy land, and we can't even appreciate our own home or history because what isn't dominated by fantastical bullshit is pervaded with white supremacist bullshit.
Tumblr media
If I'm not mistaken isn't this some weird fake native american/shamanist thing? I am deeply fucking confused Part 3: Okay that Sucked.
It really did. Side note: FUCK Outlander. and Diana Gabaldon. I could go on a rant about her actual heaping shite rambles about Scots, and how much I loathe that her fake CeltyShit Doctor Who fanfic has somehow pervaded even the 'Scottish History' section of my own fucking local library here in fucking Dundee what the FUCK. BUT. I digress. This fake image of Scottishness as some tartan-and-warrior nobility clan shit is an aggressive and dangerous image which gives a pass to hide just how fucking horrific Scotland was as part of the Empire. Nowhere here do you see any acknowledgment of who we actually are, what we've actually done and who suffered at specifically our imperial hands. Actually, one of those is the Irish!
Fairies are fun and all, but I personally find them to be a deeply unappealing diversion attached to an internet culture of intensely rancid shit which just cannot seem to accept modern Celtic nations as even existing. We do, we're trying to do better-- mostly-- and we're not some mystical fae people who exist in the far flung pipe backed mists of time with no relation to real life. When Changeling: the Dreaming turns around and calls their 'fairy homeland' of Scotland Alba, they step over and erase not only the historical Alba, but also the modern one, the name for the country as said by the Gaels. It's real, and it looks nothing like the thing they're tacking fairies onto and more to the point, Scotland isn't even really covered anywhere else other than as a nice backup home for a Fianna character, or the orogin of the main villains of WtA, the Black Spiral Dancers. (Scotland also briefly makes a mention in Wraith the Oblivion 20th as having a major Necropolis in its Shadowslands and I actually do like that one cause it finally reads accurately to the real myths of the area) Also, every Scot I know has a story about an American asking us if we have internet access, drinking water, electricity in our homes...
I always have a lot more to say on this subject and can elaborate as and when, but I think this will do for now... thanks for coming with me on this weird wee journey. :D I hope this makes sense as to why the fake Scottish 'Fairy Kingdom of Alba' Changeling thing is... Just not for me. It rings immensely ill informed and shallow, at the end of the day.

Navigating media during war
Here are some tips to navigate the conflict without a paid subscription. Disclaimer, I am based in the United States and this advice is for people in the US. These tips may apply for all wars, but I wrote this with the Israel-Hamas conflict in mind.
My qualifications: I am a reporter who has worked on both local, state, national and international stories. I have covered breaking news, and have done enterprising news and investigative journalism. I will graduate with a MA in Journalism in a month.
Reasons to question my authority: I have less than five year of professional experience. I have never reported on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, or anywhere else in the Middle East. I speak neither modern Hebrew nor Arabic.
Moving on:
The best tip I can give you is pick a few good news sources and wait two days after any given event or incident before claiming to understand what happened.
In the United States, our news industry is incentivized toward breaking news, which means that organizations sometimes air information without having time to thoroughly fact check it. This becomes especially evident in times of war, when it is hard to obtain information and even on-the-ground reporters don't have the full picture of what's happening.
You are not going to find a perfect news organization. They're all going to fuck up in some capacity. If you have a strong stance on this issue, you're going to be more sensitive to those mistakes and real or perceived biases. (And, for the record, it is possible for one organization to hold multiple biases depending on the time of day, presenter and facet of the war being discussed.) That's why it is genuinely important to consume multiple news sources.
So if you're wondering why I chose these sources it's because a) they're free, b) they issue corrections when they're wrong and c) they do not engage in disinformation.
In no particular order: BBC, Reuters, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, AP. You should not rely on only one of these. You should fact-check these against bias sources that don't outright lie.
Now onto the sources you should avoid. Let's get into disinformation: What is it?
Disinformation is the intentional spreading of false information. It's lying. Misinformation is inaccurate information that is spread around, but not done with malice.
All news organizations have misinformation at some point. You should NEVER trust a news organization that engages in disinformation, about anything, unless several years have passed, the people responsible for the disinformation have been thoroughly purged from the group and they cite every goddamn thing they said.
The two big organizations I recommend avoiding because they engage in disinformation are Fox News and Al Jazeera.
Fox News lied about the 2020 election in the United States and actively contributed to an attempted insurrection. Al Jazeera is an arm of the Qatari state and has lied repeatedly about, well, just about everything of interest to the Qatari government, but especially Israel. They have made several highly consequential lies in this ongoing conflict that have had tangible, catastrophic consequences on the entire globe.
Advocacy groups are not news outlets.
Also, don't trust terrorist organizations. Yes, the UN, WHO, Amnesty International and pretty much every NGO under the sun and the vast majority of news organizations cite them, but that's not because they're reliable, it's because they're the only group releasing information from Gaza.
You shouldn't take the IDF at face value either, but if what the IDF is saying is verified by the US, EU and/or other reliable, third parties, then that information is probably true.
No news source is perfect. That's just a fact. I cannot stress the importance of looking at multiple sources.
Here are some things to look out for when watching/reading the news.
- If a news source is attributing facts to two different sources, ask yourself, "why?" Information is hard to come by. Sometimes one source doesn't report everything you want to know. But sometimes you know your source is unreliable, you don't have any alternatives, so you want to distance yourself from that. What does this look like?
You might see people cite two sources to report death counts in Gaza: the Palestinian Health Ministry, which is run by Hamas, and Save the Children which analyzes information about the number of children killed. Save the Children gets the estimated number of deaths from Hamas.
- Does it make sense to have this information at this time? If there was an explosion and a government states that 500 people died in it, well, how much time did it take them to count those bodies? Does that sound feasible?
- When you're listening to eye-witness interviews, do their perspectives or narratives match up with the physical scenes you are seeing? They might not be lying, it could be a miscommunication, but for the context it is presented in, it might not be accurate.
Language to look out for:
Occupation, blockade, siege, war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, ethnic cleansing, legitimate military targets and apartheid are all distinct things. All of them, with the exception of apartheid, have specific legal definitions. If people are using these things interchangeably, maybe they're sharing opinions. That doesn't mean that what they're saying isn't valuable, but it does mean that you probably shouldn't cite them when debating international law.
Now let's elaborate on "occupation" for a second. Egypt occupied Gaza from 1949 to 1967. Then Israel occupied Gaza until 2005. In 2007 Israel started the blockade on Gaza and last month, after the 10/7 massacre, they started a siege. As noted above, these are distinct things.
If people are talking about occupation or settlements in the context of this conflict it means either one of four things:
- They are talking about the West Bank, which is under occupation and where settlements do exist
- They are talking about the history of Gaza pre 2005
- They do not know that Gaza isn't under occupation and that there are no longer settlements there (which means that they are not an informed source)
- Or they assume the entire Israeli state is occupying Palestine which, whether you like it or not, is not factually or correct
Just because something feels wrong doesn't mean it is illegal. Occupations, blockades, sieges, the use of white phosphorous and bombing areas where you know there are civilians are all legal in certain contexts.
Legality might not matter to you personally, but when you're watching the news and trying to assess who is sharing facts and who is sharing opinions, you should keep this in mind.
Other notes:
- Rockets need fuel. Ventilation systems in tunnels need fuel.
- Movies and tv shows are filmed in Gaza and the West Bank. If you see a photo of someone in a body bag texting or women laughing while painting a baby doll red, it might be a behind-the-scenes video from one of those things.
- There are a lot of AI generated pictures being used, especially in propaganda. Count fingers, arms, legs and look at backgrounds to see if what you are seeing makes sense. But for the love of god, if you don't like something, that doesn't mean it's AI.
- There are a lot of photos circulating from past wars. Be careful before you reblog. Reverse Google image search is your friend.
- If you are not sure if something is real or not, wait a week. If the US, EU and dozens of journalists say it is true, believe it.
Finally, social media. When is it appropriate to use social media for news?
News aggregates are usually okay. I'm talking places like r/worldnews. They are pulling from other news organizations, so they can repeat those flaws, but they give you a mix of headlines from multiple sources. And they'll very often post large parts, if not the entirety, of articles from sources from the New York Times, Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal that have paywalls in the comments. But also beware the comments because they can be disgusting.
Social media is also very good for sharing the individual human experience. The issue with that is that you can't always vet the person on camera or being spoken about, so they could be lying, spreading misinformation and it isn't the whole picture.
This needs to be said again and again: social media dehumanizes people. You know this, but you will fall victim to it anyway. Your algorithm will do its best to show you the best versions of the people and groups you like, and the worst versions of the people and groups you don't like to make you feel justified in adopting dehumanizing beliefs.
For anyone interested, I'm going to update the list of news sources I think are trustworthy in the next few days. I've found a few small, independent and/or foreign outlets that use open source intelligence (OSINT) in their reporting and they seem pretty reliable to me, but I want to vet them a bit further.
EDITED: Removed the name of a news organization that I previously said I thought was reliable. They did not issue a correction after uncritically repeating Hamas's lie that the al-Ahli hospital parking lot bombing was an Israeli airstrike that killed 500 people, and spent days repeating these false claims as if they were fact.

moonlighthope lied?! Jesus :(
I don’t know what to say. I feel so hopeless now since she lied… I thought her photos were real too. Someone google searched them to be safe and apparently there were no matches so it seemed legit.
I don’t understand why the hell she would lie. I had so much hope for the void state and was so happy for her. now it’s all gone again….. . I just want to cry.
i have no idea !!! ^^;; i don't wanna spread misinformation when i don't even have proof myself that there was untruthfulness on her part, i believe her tbh but ig i can understand why folks have their reservations about certain things that were said—
it's unfortunate that this happened, ye, but ya shouldn't use other people's situations to hinder yer own growth. the void's real, 'cause the void is you.
are ya real? cause if ya weren't, ya wouldn't be sendin' in this ask to me rn. it's ok if yer disappointed or sad, but imma need ya to take a step back afterwards and remember that anythin's possible so long as ya make that true to yerself. just cause somethin' ain't workin' for someone else doesn't mean it ain't gonna work for ya, that's just not how life goes.
i think the only reason why folks are so funky 'bout this situation is cause of the picture proof, when in reality we got plenty of void success stories from anonymous folks or other blogs in general. plenty of people have succeeded to tap into their god state, not just this one person, she ain't supposed to be put on some kinda pedestal simply cause she may or may not have accomplished somethin' that ya haven't yet experienced.
but heres whatcha wanna do--- create yer own proof. ya don't need proof from nobody besides yerself, cause at the end of the day, ya wanna live on creative mode so yer gonna have to take the steps ya need to take in order to take that power back. i don't give a fuck if ya say it's hard at first, yer just gonna have to keep goin'.
don't be sad, use this as motivation to create the truth and the proof ya want and crave. the world is yours to craft however ya want it. when ya have yer dreams and look back at yer spilled tears and moments of stress like this— yer gonna forgive yerself for doubtin' what ya could do in the first place. what you're feelin' right now ain't gonna be permanent unless ya decide to fall back into the victim mentality.
here's a hand ✋, imma pull ya outta that hole you're tryna fall back into. it's time to stop lettin' life beat yer ass and take control over it again, and I don't care how many times ya fall back in that hole, ya better crawl yer ass back outta that fuckin' ditch and keep goin.' stop letting life happen to you and stop accepting what ya don't want.
