hello! the wang zhuocheng back jewelry moment refers to this one look from a photoshoot he had in february 2022 (around valentine's day iirc), which flipped a collective switch on jiang cheng/cql side of tumblr when the pictures were released and sent us all spiralling into hysteria for at least two weeks. it also inspired several wonderful pieces of jiang cheng fanart. truly a historic time among the jiang cheng stan circles

I remember once sitting in a meeting with a work supervisor detailing these things when a co-worker who was doing this shit actually DID escalate to trying to physically harm me (via food allergies), and we were both like oh my word this is the dumbest shit. Like. The person who did this is an adult, why do they not have anything better to do than try to do this middle-school bullying to someone who clearly does not give a shit (I was at a point in my life where I didn't give a shit.. until it escalated into a failed attempt to do physical harm).

Fortunately, her supervisor DID actually understand what was going on and that it was workplace bullying.

I'm just glad that she chose me as her target instead of someone who actually would have been more negatively impacted.

no piece of teen media has ever accurately depicted the quiet psychological warfare of bullying. bullies on TV are always dumb brutes and not the evil geniuses of emotional manipulation that they are in real life. being given a wedgie and having your lunch money stolen is nothing in comparison to a classmate quietly creating a taboo against speaking to you that they intend to enforce against all the other kids. it’s nothing like continuous cutting comments from people you thought were being nice to you. that way that the work of one kid can make you feel like every person on earth silently hates you and that you are dirty, disgusting, worthless, creepy and useless. that you can have friends but many of them will not speak to you at school for fear of the social consequences on their end. how that damage lasts in any social setting for the rest of your life

I had enormous fun cutting out both her swirling hair and the swirling shapes of the bow's decoration - extra-detailed shapes like that take a long time, but the end result is very satisfying. ^_^ And, of course, I'm always excited to make Legend of Zelda art!
