Hi there! I love your art so much! Your comics always make me smile :) You are so talented!! I have a quick question for you (I hope that's ok!!).

What do you do when you get art block? I struggle with following through and finishing pieces, as well as coming up with ideas. Do you have any advice for that?

And oooh ok so I actually have some advice for that! I went through a massive art block where I didn't draw a single thing from 2019 up to 2022, like absolutely nothing

And I was able to get out of the art block by redrawing stuff! Like taking a screenshot from a movie I like and redrawing it in my style. I redrew like 10 screenshots from Disney movies until the inspiration started coming to me on its own

The nice thing about redrawing something that already exists is that you don't have to come up with a composition or an idea, since it's already there, so it let's you only focus on the art process

These were from early 2022, the last of the batch of the screenshots I redrew before I started drawing stuff out of my own head lol

And then later that year, I would still get stuck every once on a while, so redrawing screenshots it was until I got the inspiration back again lol

When I get stuck now, I usually redraw a meme or a screenshot, too, since it helps me warm up and get back into the creative process hehe like this thing I did when I was stuck some months ago

Redrawing trends or memes is also great for inspiration, since you don't have to think about poses or the idea itself, plus it's fun to imagine a character saying incorrect quotes, etc

As for coming up with ideas, the brainrot is always in my head lol so I listen to a song or watch a show and I'm constantly thinking "this is something x character would say/do" and I take notes about it and then use it as inspiration 🤭 it's all about seeing the blorbos everywhere

Anyway, I don't know if this is helpful advice or not, but it has helped me in more than one occasion!

Redrawing your own old art is also an old reliable trick to beat art block hehe

The captain and the sailor (guppy) are my absolute faves, like the guppy because wind waker is my number 1 game of all time and the captain because I love a beautiful confident dude with mental illness lmao

Also, I have no idea why or when the fandom decided to make them the brothers ever even though they have really small interactions in the OG comic, but I love our collective delusion and I will keep drawing them together lol

So I'm at the airport cause I have a wedding tomorrow out of state and I took 3 days off work to make it

And like, I went to ask for a taxi (cause ubers are not allowed to pick up/leave people in the airport, at least here) and the taxi people where like "your driver is waiting outside :)" and when I was walking away I heard them talk via walkie talkie to the driver describing me so she could meet me

And I shit you not they described me as "the extremely short girl in pink" 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

The fellowship of the ring is my favorite movie of all time!!!! I love the trilogy in general but the fellowship of the ring is just mega comfort movie to me 🥹💖

When it comes to the books, I've only read the hobbit and the fellowship of the ring, but I do plan on reading the two towers and the return of the king....EVENTUALLY! 🙈

and aaaah, random facts about them? Zelda/Key is a proficient archer, like most Zeldas before her, however she truly enjoys it and practiced archery a lot pre-adventure

As for Link/Chain, he is a shield hater, shield disliker lmao he hates using them (which is why he keeps getting hit smh) he’s more on the lighter and speedy side when it comes to fighting styles + his magic abilities
