helping them take off makeup, dry their hair, change into more comfy clothes, all so that they have to do less

sitting there listening to the entire vent (and being totally invested/validating)

doing chores or things for them that night that they normally would have to take care of.

making the house as cozy as possible before they come home (blankets on the couch, lights dim, candles on, movie ready)

Character A is bedridden from the cramps and Character B becomes their living heating pad (cuddles with arms wrapped around the waist >>>>)

B buys A their favorite chocolates a couple days before their period starts and keeps beverages with electrolytes on hand

A takes a day off to rest, bingewatch some episodes of a good show, and care for themselves (maybe do some yoga, and by yoga I mean curl up in the fetal position for a couple hours)

B thinks that making a nice bath for A will help and prepares everything for when A gets home (A laughs and explains why that’s not a great idea)

Searching for Shark Week’s episodes online to deal with shark week in person, but getting distracted by cute animal shows

B can’t be there for A in person so they send A $30 to cover extra snacks and/or medicine

Instead of getting emotional over posts online, A digs out an old book series and gets emotional over that (they are reliving their childhood, they swear it’s cathartic THEY SWEAR)

A can’t sleep with the back pain so B gives them a light back massage with several check-ins to make sure the noises are in relief and not pain

B keeps the lights dim and and TV volume low as A battles a headache

All meals are made with ahead of time and cravings humored (“You can’t just eat straight salt.” “I know that, which is why I’m putting all of it on this.”)

A asks for B to get more pads/tampons at the store, B calls and sends many pictures as they try to figure out what will work best for A

B quietly scrubs out any bloodstains from A’s clothes as they do laundry (and they’re really efficient at it, why are they so good at getting blood out of clothing—)

A snuggling up with their pet who knows the exact spot to be in for maximum comfy (B thinks it’s adorable and takes a picture to show A later)

“I’m sorry if I’m not really conversational right now…” “Dude you’re on your period and barely slept last night, you’re good. We don’t have to talk, we can just chill.”

B brings home a machine for homemade ice-cream and all the ingredients needed for A’s favorite flavor (they spend the evening making it and declare a “dessert before dinner” day for when periods strike)

Sorry this took so long!

Warnings: Nothing, just fluff

You expect to cuddle up to Harvey when you roll over, but as you smooth your hand up, you find cool sheets where you'd expected his warm chest. You blink hazily, rousing fully from sleep as you look around the dark bedroom. You don't see the light on in the en suite bathroom, so he isn't in there. You push yourself up just a little, peering at the small space between the door and floor, and puff out a sigh when you see light there.

Damnit. Again?

You push your covers aside, swinging your legs out and stepping into your slippers, groggily walking over to your bedroom door. Harvey is on his couch with a short stack of documents on the coffee table, sifting through them beneath the cast of the floor lamp behind him. He glances up at the shushing of your slippers, frowning as he turns back to the document.

"You alright?" He asks.

"Fine."

"Why are you up?"

"I came out to ask you the same thing." You walk around behind the couch, peering over his shoulder. "You should be sleeping."

"I'll be there in a minute."

"...Would you like to try that again without lying to either of us?"

You don't wilt at the unamused look he cut you over his shoulder. You just raised your brows, tipping your head to the side as you waited patiently for his answer. He pushed a sigh out through his nose as he turned back to his work.

"Go back to bed."

"'I'm not going back without you." You lean closer, looping your arms around his shoulders. "You need your sleep, Harvey. You can't kick ass at work if you're asleep and drooling on your desk."

You felt his shoulders shift slightly with a laugh.

"I don't drool."

"My point stands."

"...Five minutes," He promises. You consider for a moment, then nod.

"Five minutes," You agree. You turn your head, pecking his cheek before you straighten up. "Start the clock, mister."

You watch the glaring red display of the clock on your bedside table, biting the inside of your cheek as another minute ticks by. He's got one more minute��

Your heart ticks up in your throat as you hear Harvey's footsteps. The covers lift and the bed dips as he climbs into bed beside you, and you grin as you feel his arm curl around your middle, drawing you back against his chest. You reach down, taking hold of his hand and intertwining your fingers. Harvey draws in a deep breath, pressing a tender kiss to the nape of your neck.

"Thank you, baby," He murmurs, the buzz of it tickling your skin.

"Anytime, handsome."

PSA for "Prompt" tags

*Only tagging every prompt tag I can think of because there's a common issue that's getting worse in all of the ones I follow*

Many new writers here seem to not understand what "prompt" or "inspiration" or even "list" tags are for. I've seen many who just seem to go, "Oh, this says otp/fluff/angst in it, I should put that on my post!" Which, no, that's not how it works.

What "prompt" (and similar) tags are for:

- generic inspiration

- ex: character A and character B go on their first date, what happens?

- list of words/things meant to *prompt* ideas

What "prompt" (and similar) tags are NOT for:

- answered asks from prompt lists (just say "prompt fill" or something)

- original writing/fic writing posts

- something that's more of a writing update than an actual prompt

Like, maybe it's just me because I don't see anyone really addressing it. I also tend to just block repeat offenders (aka those who do this often), so others who are also bothered most likely do the same. But it's been a growing issue, especially in niche prompt tags that already don't get enough activity with people making those prompts.

I get it, you're excited and want others to see what you've written. Which is understandable! But putting red balls in a "Green Balls Only" bin is just going to get people annoyed at you and your blog blocked. Technically, yes, things are related, but that doesn't mean it should be in there.

Categories are made for a reason. Please be aware of others, and if you're unsure what goes in a tag, look at the popular section of that tag. Granted, that's not always perfect (as I see a lot of Stranger Things or MCU fic posts get enough notes that they clog even that section), but it's a start.

I'm going to let this circulate for a while before I start blocking people again. Because, good news! You can remove tags from existing posts, and then your post will stop showing up in that tag. And I really don't want to inadvertently block someone I might enjoy reading. Just, you know, with the proper tags.

Prompt: Giving them a shoulder massage when they won’t leave whatever they’re working on

"You're still down here?"

"You're still asking questions that you clearly know the answer to?"

You rolled your eyes, planting your hands on your hips as you eyed Bruce's hunched shoulders. He didn't even bother to look up as he sassed you, just stayed focused on whatever it was in front of him.

"Bruce, you need to sleep."

"Bats are nocturnal."

"And you're a man, so I don't know exactly what point you're trying to make right now. Aren't you expected at a ribbon cutting tomorrow morning?"

"They just want me for my deep pockets...And my giant scissors."

"Bruce," You whined, walking more deeply into the batcave. You stopped behind him, running your hands over his shoulders and beginning to gently work the tense muscle there. He hardly moved as you lean over him a little, taking in the marked map he's looking over. "What is that?"

"Reports of sightings of Crane."

"Jonathan Crane? That—Scarecrow guy?"

"Mm."

You frowned, curling your arms around his shoulders and nuzzling his hair. "You planning on going after him?"

"Tomorrow night."

"It'd be a real shame if you were so damn tired that you missed him, wouldn't it."

Bruce finally shifted, and you straightened up as he tipped his head back against you.

"You're very subtle."

"I'm not trying to be subtle, Bruce," You sighed, stroking your knuckles along his jaw. "I'm just trying to keep you alive."

Bruce's lips pursed before he gave a nod. You smiled, relaxing as he stood, taking hold of your hand and leading the way toward the elevator.

"You know, I'm worth more to you dead."

"That isn't funny."

"I'm not joking."

"You think I'll go running to the papers with an exposé? My Lover Was Batman?"

"No need after they read the will."

You went still, brow furrowing as Bruce stepped onto the elevator. He turned back toward you calmly, brows raising as he held his hand out again.

"You coming?"

"Bruce."

"I thought you wanted me to rest."

"What did you do?"

"Nothing."

"Bruce."

"Are we going to bed or not?"

You hesitated before you took his hand and stepped onto the elevator beside him, eyes narrowed as you searched Bruce's expression.

"I find you very suspicious, Mr. Wayne."

"You've got nothing to worry about."

"Right now, or ever?"

"Let's just focus on right now."
