So Ive been wearing a mask since COVID started so I'm gonna keep wearing one
But knowing I have to wear one so I can reduce my risk of the flu because I can't get the vaccine yet just feels like an extra horrible punch in the gut
Two years
Two fucking years I spent fixing my needle phobia
And it's all gone to the point where I can't get vaccinated because the doctor is worried I'll break the needle by freaking out too much

On average, what is the total MONTHLY amount that you spend on dining out*?
*(This doesn't only count going out to restaurants, but also stuff like picking up fast food to bring home, getting a coffee on the way to work, getting a premade sandwich from a grocery store deli during lunch, buying a quick snack from a convenience store or food cart whilst walking somewhere, ordering a pizza or any other food to be delivered to your home, etc.)
*(If you often dine out in groups/as a household: calculate and divide the costs so that you get a Per Person average. This is for YOU individually, NOT the total household/group costs)
(I'm sure polls similar to this have been made before (very common topic), I just haven't personally seen one that I can remember, so, I was curious to do my own! I was discussing this with a group of people today and it was very interesting to see how widely the number varied between individuals. :0c )
(Reblog for bigger sample size if you can, and feel free to explain your answer in tags if there's anything extra to add!)

I HATE tiktok and the Internet in general rn for the obsession with "oh this person's smellyyy" "Brother it STINKS over here" "BOO 💧🧼🧽🚿" and stuff like that. I wish I could put into words how demeaning and patronising that whole idea is and people implying anyone they don't like doesn't wash.
For one there's something grating about being insulted in a manner like we're in nursery again. But also WHY is that the go to insult. Why do you associate these things? Especially to those you deem "chronically online". Like I don't want to sound pathetic but it feels so nasty to me.
is it extreme to say this feels tied to ableism? And classism too?

idk why so many people act so strange when faced w people who travel alone, go to restaurants alone, etc. and the idea of someone doing these things alone is always a comedy beat in tv shows and such, characters are always agonizing about having to go somewhere alone, people irl are usually shocked when they encounter someone travelling alone, eating alone, there is judgement there, blah blah. its very silly. you mean you never go to a restaurant alone just to have a meal? go somewhere because you want to go there, regardless of whether others want to join you, whether it's 20 mins from your house or hours away from home? another country, if you're someone who has the means to travel? it's really not that serious lol

My E-niversary is later today!! Yay!! Yippie!!!!
I'm glad to have made so much progress and found so much more joy and happiness and community!
Unfortunately I'm probably not going to make it to my next one due to chronic health issues that look like they'll be taking a turn for the fatal or worse over the next month if I don't get the medication I need for that, but I'm not going to stress about it. If I survive, I'll have a massive breakdown about it later, but for now, I'm a happy little kitty!
Love all my frens <3

Me about to read Les Miserables: wow I hope those 'miserable ones' in the title don't have to go through any misery
Me a few chapters later: by Talos this can't be happening

I saw another post comparing regular sunscreen use (eg reapplying every two hours when outdoors) to sleeping on your back “so your face will be symmetrical” or trying to erase your skin texture with expensive creams. so I feel this bears repeating:
sunscreen is a health tool. and you have to use it as directed for it to work properly.
yes, it also has anti-aging benefits, and beauty influencer types seem to only mention that when they talk about it. but like. it’s FOR preventing skin cancer
and how miraculous is that? that we can- to some degree, albeit not perfectly -prevent a form of cancer? something that’s been a scourge of humanity for centuries, even when we didn’t really understand it? it’s incredible!
your sunscreen doesn’t even have to be whatever $100 French or Korean sunscreen aforesaid influencers are shilling, either. as long as it’s been approved by a reputable regulatory body, it can be the cheapo Banana Boat Sport stuff you get at the drugstore. and you don’t have to go to the insane lengths some people do either, like reapplying regularly indoors (unless you work in a glass box building with windows everywhere, I suppose) or wearing it at night
but by spending a mininal amount of money and expending the tiniest bit of effort, you can SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE YOUR CANCER RISK. how is that the same as trying to not have pores, or the “preventative Botox” trend?
if not smoking had been touted only for its aesthetic benefits, would we still all be puffing away like it’s 1955 and dismissing nonsmokers as Just Wannabe Lifestyle Influencers?

genuinely cannot believe i haven't made an avian transformer oc yet given that i love birds sooo here! this is taloncry. he's an old, bitter mech who has a serious soft spot for rookies. taloncry was forged without an altmode and it's a big source of pride for him that he only has one form! (more info ab him in tags!)
he's also a lot bigger than you think he is. like a lot.

We deserve better than to be always recovering from surgeries and unsure hormones. My body is in stages of early menopause… i’m 26. I should not have been on T for 8 years but they told me nothing. Why aren’t they gathering data? why don’t they care about trans and gnc patients. it’s all about profit. So stop telling your masc lesbian buddies that they would “make great dudes”, lets just slow down before you encourage body dysmorphia in an attempt to validate someone
