Do you think there was a time where the scrybes got along?

I do like the bit of mystery on how the game started, we at least get a bit of background about it, but never really get any in depth info on it

I personally like to think that yes, they were on actual good terms at one point, but as time went on, and with the knowledge they had of the OLD_DATA, and the sentience they gained from it, it started to go downhill from there

Tho it’s fun to actually see the scrybes in acts 1 and 3 when one of them is in power over all, I think we should give them enough credit for being mature enough to actually work together and put their differences aside when they feel the need to, regardless of any bad blood between them

P03, Grimora, and Mags work together in act 1 to take down Leshy, then later in act 3 Leshy, Grimora and Mags work together to take down P03

I think it does give us a bit of a glimpse into how they would’ve treated each other if they were a lot more chill with each other’s presence hahaha

One of my favorite details in act 2 of Inscryption is P03’s main room in its temple

There is one single detail in this room that’s been rotating in my mind for so long, that detail?

I’m a sucker for “show don’t tell”, and for P03 to completely discard so many cards, putting them in a recycling bin, and the other half just printing away fully ignored as the line continues to bring in new bots to the scanner?

That’s a harsh and rigid perfectionist if I’ve ever seen one

Like, it’s already hinted at dialogue wise, “that stinking, squirming mass of imperfection…”, but I really, REALLY love when the environment and surroundings of a character speak volumes about their personality and character traits

The P03 moment was like "Oh shit!"

But Luke was like "OH FUCK-" y'know?

(also i didn't do the arg but i watched a video on it, it was pretty cool x3)

And what Grimora did felt more like a mercy kill imo. Letting herself and the others rest after so much turmoil. And to dispose of the "OLD_DATA" of course.

Although I sorta get Magnicicus' pov. A beautiful world of all these different people, getting destroyed. To him amd the others, they weren't simply lines of code on a floppy disk, bur living breathing people.

The most interesting part imo was the wood carver. Was honestly pretty shocked seeing her at the end. Like "how tf did you get here?!" Lol

Ngl I wasn’t AS surprised by it? Cause of how Mags was alluding to it when he said “for we will both be meeting our makers soon”, also the game kinda iterated multiple times that the OLD_DATA should never be accessed, “to access it is to die, but you players are never deterred by that”, and with how Kaycee “mysteriously” died, as well as the creepy way Amanda was able to both find Luke’s address, and get by the locked side gate, the way Gamefuna was adamant that Luke returns the disk? I kinda figured that Luke will not survive by the end

It was still shocking to see his death on screen tho hdhhdhdhd

And yeah I absolutely get Grimora’s mercy kill, when you talk to Rebecha (the woman who fixes the bridge) she outright says it, “Grimora wants to bring it all down I swear. But more like a mercy I think. She’s probably right, there are some nasty data on this disk”

And out of all the scrybes, it’s obvious that Grimora is the one with a few brain cells hdhdhd, ngl when I first played the game, and saw Grimora initiate the deletion process, my first thought was “wow that’s kinda selfish to make that decision for everyone including the NPCs”

But when you face Grimora she literally says “Oh? Do you think me selfish?” And then reveals that “resting” wasn’t her only intention and in fact, her actual intention is to delete the OLD_DATA “i did not bring this about so I could simply rest, appealing as that is, there is truly a dire need for this deletion process” and at that point I was like GOD DAMN THIS GAME IT’S PERFECT AND I LOVE IT DEARLY

I still very much understand her pov, and with how things just seems to go on and on with no end in sight and no hope for any sort of meaningful change, I think at that point, it was truly merciful to just end it all, cause pretty much everyone was suffering at that point (the NPCs even more so than the scrybes themselves)

But yeah Mags pov also makes sense, and I generally think that every scrybe had that in mind when making their own game, I do wholeheartedly believe that each of them (despite how selfish Mags, Leshy or P03 can be, or how there are shady alternative motives at play) genuinely loved their world and their craft and wanted to show it off in their own unique way, it’s just that none of agreed on the method, cause each of them unfortunately have an inflated ego and can never compromise 😔

Woodcraver is genuinely one of the coolest mysteries of the game, the way she admits that she saw the OLD_DATA, “I have glimpsed the OLD_DATA, and I will speak nothing of it as a kindness”, and “Inscryption the good? No.” She just outright hates the place she lives in, she even seems so lost and it hurts my heart immensely “I wonder what my gameplay purpose was?”

It’s no secret that Inscryption is supposedly an unfinished game, and act 2 is its actual, unmanipulated state, it was never finished by Gamefuna, and that to me, just contributes to the Scrybes’ constant power struggle, cause each want to finish the game their own way and use the assets available to them with the power of the OLD_DATA to reform the game

And P03 later (despite any other alternative motives) wished to upload the game (and it succeeded) so people could actually PLAY it, even if it means that the OLD_DATA could spread

It’s fun to actually think of the genuine intentions of the scrybes underneath all the corruption, selfishness, and power hunger huh?

I just beat Inscryption for the first time

My reaction to the ending was basically "Oh shit he ded!" Lol

I loved Po3 and the Scrybes in the finale

Minus Magnificus, dude seemed like a jerk lol

Ngl the way Leshy just ripped P03’s head off wasn’t something I actually expected, like it was ominous enough that Leshy said “Make P03 feel joy so that I may snuff it out”, but DAMN an on screen death wasn’t on my bingo card shgdhs, Leshy doesn’t play around huh?

I love how after that Grimora just went “you bitches are a lost cause” then proceeded to just delete the rest of the poor bitches, my girl couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw the file access (kinda wondering if P03 actually got deleted tho, considering the arg’s lore, but I digress)

The finale is honestly so good, really loved how we actually got to see how Grimora’s and Magnificus’ acts would’ve been like if we actually had the time, I honestly do hope that we get a dlc (maybe even Inscryption 2???) in the future where we actually get full acts against Mags and Grimora (very unlikely, hard to have a version 2 of a deleted game, but a girl can dream)

And Ah my old wiztree Mags, Love how so many people just collectively hate his guts, honestly very understandable, I personally love the guy despite my immense urge to drop kick his ass, he’s a fun Christmas tree ain’t gonna lie
