I like to imagine P03 was responsible for his own creation. He came into existence as a sentient monitor, but Leshy was the first to wind his crank and (unknowingly) grant him the power necessary to begin constructing his body.

In decapitating him, he returned P03 to his natural state — how he existed when they’d first met.
