My friends and I got the urge to doodle up some ENAs tonight and thus a creature was concocted, or at least the bare bones idea for a creature anyway. This take is straight up just an ENA-fied version of my sona and while he's fun to draw I'm not reaaally vibing so I'm gonna play around with another Idea. Also the shirt is bugging me, in my mind its a fixed pattern that's beneath the animation like Chowder but it's too much lol. Idk man for 3am on a sunday I think it's cute.

By the way ENA designs are WAY harder to draw and put together than they look, I tip my hat to you Mr. G

Ooooh man this is so rough but that's the point of brainstorming!!

The colors for Diane's monster body gave me the most trouble in this whole process, especially the lighter accent color. I THINK I'm happy with the colors in this version, but I think I wanna play with how they're distributed more as I do some design work on my own.

Diane's upper body(?) is something Polaris came up with. Originally, my idea for her monster form was just the beast body, but after working on this for a few days, it's really grown on me so I'm keeping it! Although, I have different ideas for this part of her design.

Her spots REALLY need to be simplified more man, her design is already so complicated. I've decided that she can be a bit more complicated than other designs due to this form only appearing in like psssh four chapters at most?? That being said between SEVEN heads, spots, action sequences, backgrounds, and shading, even with limited time she's gonna be taking up so much energy to draw even with simplifications. Additionally I don't want her to stand out TOO much design wise from the general designs in the comic, y'know cohesion and stuff. Oh yeah, I referenced some shots of Sabor for simplified leopard spots. Wanna play around with the horns on her leopard heads too, since I didn't have anything specific in mind when Polaris sketched them.

Polaris sketched Chris' design here based off a concept drawing I did a whole year ago, and the colors I used are pulled from that drawing as well. There's more meant to be going on with his design that's intended to be seen in darker settings, but even then his design feels a bit plain color wise compared to the other monsters. I don't really want his base colors to stray too much from his original pallet, so I think pushing accent colors would be the way to go.

I thiiiiink that's all I have to say for my thoughts on this one! It'll probably be a while before I get around to working on these more, since I've got other stuff I need/want to get done first. But I can't control my whims so who knows lol.

I'm in the middle of coloring this bad boy right now, so in the meantime, yall should go check out my buddy Polaris, who drew up this sketch! He's mainly a Zelda artist who's got his own webcomic going, and he's REALLY talented. Spent the last week at his house infecting him and his wife with Big Hero 6 brainworms and throwing au lore at them lol.

I'm trying to get comfortable posting rougher sketches and tests, so here's one of em.

I drew these up a few weeks ago to help me visualize a scene that's been in my head for a while. This part's meant to be in the prologue chapter for the second half of phase 2(what would be season 1 of the show), at least the version that's current as of posting. Can't get into it past that for au specific plot reasons, though.

Hiro looks a little weird to me here, but I'm gonna chalk that up to not having proper refs for him. Specifically for how his design changes as he ages. He's meant to be a little over 15 here, so his design really wouldn't be different from his current one. Aside from adding a little height and making some slight adjustments to his face. I can't remember if I gave him his double helix piercing here because his hair's covering it. Haven't decided when he gets those so I've been drawing them on occasional whims.

Oh yeah and the third panel is supposed to be the Frederickson shipyard/port. When I went to start sketching, I quickly realized I was NOT in the mood so it never got done lol. I just decided to do some test shading on the first two panels and call it even.

Tbh if I ever do more of these, I'd keep her colors but say to hell with it and make her a Saluki because it just feels correct to me. Bug in my brain demanding region accuracy be damned, is show for babies I'll do what I want lol
