Think of this as the heart of your journey—where we confront the "why" behind your desire for change. This isn’t just about outer beauty; it’s about cultivating the mindset and self-concept that align with the radiant, confident person you aspire to be.

Why Do You Want This Change?

Let’s start by getting real. Why do you want to glow-up? Is it about feeling more confident, breaking out of a rut, or finally aligning with the version of yourself you’ve always envisioned? Understanding your "why" gives your journey purpose and keeps you grounded when challenges arise. Write it down, reflect on it, and when things get hard come back to it This is the first step in creating a change that lasts.

Why Are You Not Happy With the You Now?

This is a tough question, but it’s essential to ask. What is it about your current self that makes you unhappy? Now, I am not saying you only chose to glow up cause you are not happy, but I know some of us are on this journey because we are unhappy. Maybe it’s self-doubt, negative self-talk, or feeling stuck in habits that no longer serve you. Take time to acknowledge these feelings without judgment. Recognising what’s holding you back allows you to start dismantling those barriers. Remember, growth begins with awareness.

The "Why" Behind Your Current State

Now let’s explore the deeper layers. Why do you think you’ve been stuck in this mentality? Is it because of past experiences, beliefs, or fears you that gave you this mindset. stage one is about confronting the roots not blaming yourself. Understanding yourself and your partens will help you in creating the version of yourself you want.

Steps to Shift Your Mindset

Reframe Your Thoughts: Replace self-doubt with affirmations that uplift and empower you. For example, change “I’m not good enough” to “I am worthy of all good things.”

I- Set Intentions: Decide how you want to feel and act moving forward. Intentions are your emotional compass.

II- Practice Gratitude: Celebrate the parts of yourself and your life that you’re already proud of. Gratitude shifts your focus from lack to abundance.

III- Visualise Your Future Self: Close your eyes and imagine the person you’re becoming. What do they think, feel, and believe? Start embodying that energy today.

VI- Be Kind to Yourself: Change is a process, not a sprint. Celebrate small wins and give yourself grace along the way.

Journaling does not have to be neat and aesthetic!!! Writes as messily as you want, use glitterpens because they make you happy, color an entire page with black marker because you needed a distraction and the repetitive movement is soothing, write paragraphs and paragraphs about your favorite tv show or how you make your favorite coffee, doodle silly pictures, fill an entire page with lipstick kisses and coffee spills

Journaling is supposed to make you feel good. It's a safe space you can pour your heart into and help ease the weight on your shoulders. It's not supposed to be another factor of stress because it doesn't look "aesthetic" enough

As a part of bettering myself this year, I have gotten back into journaling. From my experience, journaling has always been a healthy way to retreat within myself during good and bad times.

There are many benefits to journaling like reducing stress and being able to regulate your emotions better. Journaling can also help you better understand who you are as a person- what you like, don’t like and what you hope to become.

Take 5 minutes (or more) to write what’s on your mind. All you need is a notebook or iPad/tablet, a pen, and some music to match the mood. Sit down and unleash your inner most thoughts. To make it a little easier you can follow the outline I use below.

Get specific about the things you are grateful for. It does not have to be anything extravagant. You could say you are grateful to be able to drink clean water or have a phone.

Affirmation(s):

What affirmation or affirmations did you need to hear today. This doesn’t have to be an affirmation, you can make it a scripture or a quote. Be sure it is something that would’ve been nice to hear from someone.

A summary of your day:

This one is self explanatory but write a short summary of what you did throughout the day.

Vent:

What ever has been consuming your mind write it down here. Think of this section as a free therapy session with yourself. Questions you can ask yourself here: What’s been bothering you? When did it start? What happened? Is there something you wish you said or did differently? Dig deep.

There is healing in writing out your experiences while being able to vent in a safe space. If you decide to get into journaling don’t get too much into your head, simply write. There are moments I notice myself self-censoring out of fear that I am being overly honest. I’m here to tell you, write it all anyways. Overcome those little moments of doubt and let the stream of consciousness flow.

Its not my fault yall bc he was just fine yes so I went to see what he was up to then he turned out to be a well raised kind decent human and it turns out all this time not being kind hearted is the reason none of these fine men had appeal to me!? THAT WAS THE REASON I THOUGHT I WAS BROKEN AND INCAPABLE OF LOVING ANYONE NO MATTER HOW FINE THEY ARE!?

I mean - so - i can only be attracted to fine men when they’re kind!!?? That’s the missing link!!?? Wow. It’s also sooooo funny to me that men in my life like that are so 100% rare to see that I thought i just wasn’t attracted to anyone. Wow.
